Having a Large Hunter family as part of a back story is perfectly fine...adds depth to your character.
But that of course doesn't mean they will be playable (as Silly already pointed out)...and...don't get to upset if I decide to have the butchered by a rampaging pack of Werewolves...y'know,just for "insperation"

I always write in famalies...... and kill them off myselves so the Gm can't use it as a bargining chip

I tend to make a list of extended family, eventually the GM gets tired of trying to come up with dramatic ways they die. I think one time my character had something like 30 aunts and uncles.
