Here are a few of my very faves: My all time labour of love 2005-2006: Weird, speed painted fave 2006...just something in the simple conversion and how he works in the gang that makes me so fond of him. Necromunda is also the best, most enjoyable GW game to me. Inquisitor Lord Frostschein and his trusty little librarian Samuel from 2003. So many war stories and bits of fluff on top of the modelling have shaped them into true dramatis personae in our gaming group. He hasn't bee same since S6 perils of the warp though Currently I am very childishly excited about the TWAR, but you've seen enough of them

man i love the necron head on coatez's body...so cool... unfortunately, i don't get many pics of my minis before they have to be shipped out...here are a few that still make me happy after all these years... please to enjoy... this guy is from back in '01...just havin' fun with conversions and urban camo... this guy is from '03 i think...he is 22 seperate pieces from a few different ranges(includin' inquisitor scale)...he was my second iron hand, and i really enjoyed buildin' him... this was my first alt. scheme work for privateer press, and still one of my favorite warbands...done in late '03 i believe... this was one of the last battlegroups i did for privateer before i left...mike gave me free rein, so i chose the paint scheme based on the box cover, and the illustrations in escalation...done in '05... i really like this guy, 'cause i painted him for larry elmore's personal collection...what better homage than to paint it as a portrait of the man himself...done in '04... these last couple are some more recent...unfortunately, most of my work doesn't see the light of day until 4 or 5 months after i finish...so i can't show off the new stuff ...these are painted to my tabletop standard...nice and clean though... thanks for lookin'... cheers jah

I'll bite ^_^ A few years ago a friend of mine gave me all of his Space Wolves stuff. And from that my favorite model he ever modeled became mine. Thus he got paint: I did this guy for the Mook Painting Competition back in the day before I left for Iraq circa 2003-2004. I couldn't get a good photo at the time so he looked like garbage when I submitted the pic. I ended up posting like a week later with better pictures ^_^;..: And my latest and quite possibly best conversion to date:

Jah - Really like your stuff man. Fav model from the group you posted is the golden colored warmaster. Just awesome. Grim - Weathered dread feets!! You're making me want to paint my extra dread >.>... Migs - the necromunda guy is oddly awesome in his simplicity and yet elegant in execution. Corpsman - it was all just precise cutting and filing. There was ZERO greenstuff involved in that piece ^_^. So if you've got the guts to cut up an expensive model ^_- I say go for it!

I painted this bad boy up for my Salamanders army a few years ago, and entered it into the Warpstone competition in Calgary. I placed silver in the category. the green armor took me so long, I pretty much rushed the rest of the model.

I have a lot of favorites. If I didn't really like what I was making, I would never play with it But here's a few First is my marine army in general. Like most it was my very first 40K army and a few years back and stripped and repainted them in the same colors, just with better skills. Here is the command squad that was entered in WD's design your own marine chapter contest from a while back. I won 8th place and one of the guys was in WD. I forget the issue but it was the one with the LOTR 2 towers on the cover. I got a little certificate saying the high lords of terra consider them an official chapter too My alienids too. I've done a lot but I still like the queen hive tyrant the best. The head was my first real sculpting job. I took a lot of pics of a queen alien and tried to make it look as close as possible I still kind of regret selling my necrons. Here's a conversion I did for a heavy destroyer And the demon price for the night lords army I never finished. Ended up trading them for a bunch of Tomb Kings And out of everything, what tops the list just for looks and the fun I had making it was my unit of pirate empire swordsmen There's even more i'd love to share, but I gotta get back to my baneblade I think he'll be a new favorite soon

Hehe thanks I have been trying to really get the girls looking like girls, not transvestites. I will get around to posting the rest... I have been largely successfull, though the Inquisitor looks a little like Laurel from Laurel and Hardy. Black eyebrows were a BAD idea. The Barbie Dream Rhino is a friend of mine's named Death Quaker. She is a really good painter, I just don't know how I feel about her color pallette I did a lot of freehand work on her cloak too, you just can't see it in this pic.

Post by: Wehrkind
Hehe thanks Salvage. I can give you her number; she might be willing to sell the tank Now that you mention it, it really is starting to remind me of Leloo (which is good, she was superbly sexy in that film.) The hair actually isn't all that hard to do; after 30 odd girls with different colors I have figured out a decent assembly line process. Those Dirz are just staggering. I am glad I got my pic in just before, so at least people bothered looking at it! Those non-metalic metals are just excellent, and I adore the subtle patterns on the cloaks! Following those lovely bits, I would expect something like "Well Wehrkind, the primer you applied isn't too clumpy, I guess."

Vespasian: Sadly, you cannot directly post pictures from your computer online. They have to be hosted somewhere first. Very soon, you will be able to attach those pictures directly from your computer into the thread on Dakka and we'll basically host your pictures for free. Until then, you need to upload your pictures to a hosting site (like flickr or photobucket) and then link to those pictures from there.

This is a test paint scheme for my genestealers. I have some changes that I will do to the final ones, mostly handle the red joint areas with a little more care. I am stoked to get going on these guys later this Winter.

Post by: GrimTeef
Navarro - lovely work man, so subtle and beautifully blended and shaded.
Xenite - nice stealer! Personally, I think the joints at the wrists should just be the same color as the exposed muscle on the forearm, because right now the wrists draw way too much attention. The mouth area picked out with red really works though, since the face wants to be such a focal point.

Yes. The topic of this forum is Wargaming. Most specifically, we focus on GW products. War, as a subject involves extreme violence and decapitations when time permits. Daemons, a staple of Chaotic armies are notorious for their love of nudity despite our despite attempts to force some sort of clothing on them.
Sexual pictures don't quite fit into this theme and directly cross the very generous line we've established on content around here.
Frothers Unite UK, however, are a miniatures forum that loves graphic sexual references. Go check them out.
As for Dakka- please keep the sexual references down to veiled at best.

Will do. I'll try to post some other favorites when surfing from home.
It just never ceases to amaze me what is thought as inappropriate. An imaginatively positioned daemonette with a champion - I do have to point out that there's absolutely nothing explicitly sexual in the picture under discussion - verus half frontal nudity expressed by a lone daemonette (versus some gore-splattered or rotting followers of some other powers). Cultural differences I guess.
What comes to Frothers, they do seem to have a larger scope, but I'm not too fond of the language use there...

Tau Human Auxilliaries, and my first attempt at blending paint.

May as well embarass myself and put up some piccies, something I normally avoid doing. Most of my stuff never gets finished, theres always some details I never seem to get round to finishing.
The dark gray marines were an attempt to do some green stuff - something that i'm not good at. I put some basic cloaks on the back of them, which you can see between the legs. Its not so much the cloaks I like (some came out ok, some didn't), but for what was meant to be a quick paint to see how they came out with the cloaks I really liked how they came out color wise.
The chaos marine I like for some unknown reason.
The waveserpent (not completed since forever) I like just cos its the only vehicle I've ever managaed to get looking anything like half decent. Actually thinking about it I've got a chimera somehwhere that I was pleased with as well. The pathfinders, also not complete, I'm liking. Nice models.
Then some Ogres, I liked the way they came out.

I made this guy back in 94 when I first started to module with my marines. Fabius bile, Tech marine, Termy, DE head. I plan to go back and strip him and repaint him when I find the time. As of now I have had to work to do with the guard and have yet to get back to my vow that I made on finishing up my marines. I going to wait till the new codex comes out before I finish them up.

These are all my favorite conversions. It was difficult picking them as I convert a lot. But if you've read any of my threads, you already know that.
From the fantasy world, It's one of my ogre butchers. Edit2: Disregard previous edit
From my 40k infantry, it's my sergeant from my soon to be made 'ratlings' squad.
Until I get a decent picture of the whole model, it's my demolisher turret.
And finally, it's the Squat Marine. He's eventually going to have white armor, for obvious reasons.

2) Any place where I can see some more of your Marines?

Hard too choose, almost all my models are my favorites , that’s the disadvantage of not building much I guess.
I like this one because it’s one of the first I ever painted and it’s a matrix fly-by shooting gaunt.
This one was a true exercise in exaggerating size, as is good for orks. It was also a very hard model to build, not because it was a difficult build, but more because I have trouble making things as chaotic as orks, I like neatness ;P
It comes with the obliged cigar smoking ork (cigar still needs to be made, just like his co-driver in a hammock)

These two I like very much as well, because of the extra detail bits I tried to put in the bionics. They aren’t really done yet. The left marine’s bionics might get some armoured plating.
And the last one, a non- 40K miniature, converted from a 1:12 starcraft space marine to this Royal Infantryman in Ares Armour of the British Galactic Commonwealth.

This falcon is actually one of the very first models I painted. Technically its not done since I haven't really painted the cockpit, but I really like how it turned out.
This wraith lord is one of my absolute favorite models.

I've got a new favourite now. It's another tank commander, which, while seeming to be a relatively simple build, took absolutely ages due to me continually searching for the perfect bit.
The hat looks better in the picture than it does in real life. The hand holding the cigar is from a hand that's just fired an arrow, from the militia sprue.

My old Scythes of the Emperor Librarian, the precursor to my Tyrannic modifications of power armor in projects to come.
Based on artwork by Mark Gibbons, I believe, possibly ol'Jes himself.
Fifth Company Senior Librarian Adreon, survived the fall of Sotha alongside two dozen other Sothan brothers. During their long guerilla war to discover the most effective methods to defeat Tyranids, he took up the reading of near dead xenomorphs to begin to inure himself to the power of the hive mind. This soon led to readings from live, restrained specimens. In this case he has since developed a technique to sustain the remains of a Hormagaunt, to attune his mind to that of the Hive they encounter. This ability offers some foresight to the Scythes, alerting them to discovery if scouting Sleeper ships, or from ambush in the field.
So far, Adreon seems fine, if a little taxed by each use. But the Scythes have long learned that the Tyranid are not to be trifled with, even by the most experienced, casting a wary eye over their Psyker.

This guy is my favourite model at the moment, although I have a few other sculpts in the making that could change that!

I've been a long time lurker and am a new poster here. You folks are amazing when it comes to painting and modeling!
I'll give it a shot with my recent mock up of Guardsman Marbo. Nothing amazing but I'm happy with it.
My friend took the photo for me and atm its the only one I have.

Well, it's not the greatest. But it's my first conversion, and makes me grin when it stomps on a landraider
Based on the old deathdealer (which seems to have been long forgotten) ..

A model on the shelf is for looking at if not used for table top gaming, But a model in motion is ACTION. These are a few of my models with a backdrop to give it a look of motion and action.
Lehman Russ in a village and in the woods trail. Commissar Yarick and stormtroopers at the temple and a unusual sight, Imperial trooper, (Catachan) on a jet bike. Made from an old Arbites jet bike with eldar wings on the rear.
Figure are superimposed on a background and blended in with Paint Shop Pro. The Las fire could have been done better. I have them and others posted at webshots.com under heavyoxide. I lost my disk with the original art work so the only ones available are the one at webshots. Unfortunately these are low quality but you get the idea. Enjoy.
