You have to score top ten in battle points in a GT in the previous year.

Never have been able to go. It's just too early in the year.

Besides, I hate going alone and the people I do want to take cannot go.

I believe it's April 11-13, held at the Crown Plaza hotel in Rosemont Il.

I might still go to help run things, but that'd be about all I'd do.

You are right, I was looking at the big picture as it is a no comp/painting score and all about the battle points.

I find it a bit odd that they allow Old One Eye, the Death Leaper, and the Red Terror. As if the godzilla list needs some help in the mid-west.

Stelek it is a shame you will be unable to attend. Adepticon needs people of your stature in attendance.

Now Blackmoor and I have played once and he won a fairly close match but this time I will have my nasty list.

I'm probably running an eldar list with three falcons, harlies, fire dragons, pathfinders, jetbikes, warp spiders and Yriel. I'm almost done painting them, but my buddies are using them for the gladiator and team tournament. I'll be using necrons for the friday and saturday events...

Everyone ought to put their screen name on their nametags as well. I wouldn't mind meeting some of the folks on Dakka.

GBF - I didn't PM you any missions and saying so to cause trouble is in bad taste. However, the mission from the championship primer are available almost anywhere you care to look

That being said, there wasn't an "Invitational Primer" as that would be impossible...so maybe the missions aren't the same.

We wouldn't want the Invitational guys to have such hard missions as those would we?

I'll be there, but as I never get to play in GT's (does judging count though??? ) I'll be playing the the Championship, as well as the team tournament.

I'll be bringing my Witch Hunters list, so people can be amazed at the pretty models that I'm putting back into my case, and Howling Griffons into the Team Tournament.

It's 2.0 because when the dakka got redone by Russ few years back, I had to re-register...and I really thought since I was "re-registering" the same name and I had met some of you people, it deserved the moniker.

Darkness your 1st win against me was all due to deployment and terrain placement. I came all the way from Florida to play you in Colorado... shame shame. Our second game came down to a poor ruling on moving models into consolidation... shame again. The third game I fielded a completely painted army against your non painted uncompletely modeled army... shame again. My ex-wife intimidates me, but I haven't met a 40K player yet who does. I've met several players who's skill I respect, and a few jerks who I would rather not play again. But on the whole I'm perfectly at home with other 40K fanatics. I'm chompin at the bit to hit all three days of tournaments. I know I'll be brain dead afterwards, but I'll just take a couple days off then get together with my friends and rehash the weekend.

What do you guys think will be more common at the Gladiator? Tyranid MC? Eldar Mech? Guard Baneblade/Vulture? Ork Horde?

In last years Gladiator I played Word Bearers and I ended up playing an Iron Warriors army with 2 Warhound titans (won), Mech Eldar (won), Godzilla Nids (lost...stupid flamers not showing up grrr!), and Godzilla Nids (Won)


Godzilla is very popular in the mid-west. Look at the Chicago GT for an example, so you will see lots of the bugs.

Orks are the lastest and greatest army that people have not yet begun to meta game for, and I think that Adepticon will be the orks coming-out party.

I was thinking that we will se a ton of Baneblades now that they have a cheap(?) plastic kit.

And I will be playing Mech Eldar, so I think that you will see all those that you listed.

I think an ork cookie cutter list would have been out by now but it just does not seem to be the case. Probably there is an easy army to win with using orks but probably it will not appear until the advent of V edition.

Now pls remember this thread is for people who are actually playing in the invitational but groupies are allowed to fawn... its just natural really Mr. Simpson.

I also expect lots of Orks. It's a strong codex that hasn't been done to death, and everybody loves the Ork fluff.

I'm not doing the invitational, although I had an invite from last year's gladiator, mostly because I don't want to play two gladiators in the same weekend. But, I'm bringing a green horde for the gladiator. It's over 200 models, so I doubt I'll ever see a turn 4 though But, I'll be pretty-much immune to lascannons.

A "pork" alypse had too much "pork" for my taste! Waaagh will have Ghazzie and Snikrot. Brutal but kunning and kunning but brutal! Choppa is lead by the Mad Doc and a unit of meganobs amd wazza has a biker boss, Nobs bikes and a bunch of trucks.

The list was excellent for taking VPs but not able to hold objectives well. I am working on improvements and got some great ideas over the weekendm

Yeah, how did the Adepticon tournament go? When/where do we get a detailed report?

I'm assuming the participants are getting sleep/becoming human again before posting any detailed reports.

Overall it was a great event on the 40k side. My only complaint is seeing any army from a previous year score very high for painting. I think those high marks should be reserved for brand new armies to instill the desire in participants to come up with the most beautiful armies and put in all the hard necessary to acheive that goal. I got to see a lot of friends from all over the country and play two full days of very competitive games. It was also a lot of fun to hang out with Darrian and meet yakface face to face.

I enjoyed meeting Green, Yakface and Darrian. Green and I played each other the last game of the invitational. I really like your blood angels, very characterful and well painted. The gladiator and team tournament was fun as well.

It was a great event and I look forward to attending again next year.

I had a great time, got to play in the finals for the whole shebang but lost out to the winner. Great field, every game was competitive and fun.
