right, so i'm entering the uk schools league, and my team are all doing orks, so i want to do orks, but differently...problem.
answer; chaos orks! i've fathomed this idea for a great while, and now i get to do it!!!
in this thread, i will present updates of da boyz, armylists, and of course our progress throughout the competition, so here goes, and feel free to criticise as you feel right..anfd give advice of course...

Yeah they don't really seem that chaosy they just seem to be dark. Unless you have plans that I haven't seen yet.

cheers for the response, and regarding the whole not chaossy enough thing, they are not meant to be too detached from the basic ork, they are just freebooterz who work for chaos.

right then, regarding fluff, these bad boyz originally started off as speed freekz, and after one of dere annual conquests, they took to dere mighty
space hulk, and into da warp dey went, but there were slight delays, an inate weird boy sensed the oncoming onslaught, however his head was removed due to a "meat shortage" on board.
the orkz soon found themselves under attack from a daemon host, many were brought down from each side, but after suffering great losses, the boyz came out on top, and realized how good da fightin gets.

thats... erm... elaborate. Whats so Kaosy about them then? It looks like they like fightin' chaos, albeit chaos does fight itself often enough.

and also, i believe that you have failed to understand the meaning of freebooterz, THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR CHAOS FOR MONEY, any way, this takes place several years later

also, ALISTAIR and BILLY, at least ive made a background story, and at least i've been creative, and not just stuck with boring old speed freeks.

hi Balmung, just like to say a couple of things. firstly, your models are good but not the best ive seen and i suggest placing a piece of paper behind the model you want to take a pic of. it makes it more cleaerer

i think that the chaos staff on the wierdboy isn't great, i would use a stick (ok a staff, stick whatever). I've always liked the look of a good knarled stick. Just a personal oppinion though.

IMHO, i don't think they need chaos bitz, they need growths. if they are chaos orks they need to have been tainted by the warp giving them the blue lips, but you need flayed flesh and tentacles e.t.c. but the madness of orks has to still be there. maybe they could be based on one of the four chaos affiliations?

the weirdboy is dodgy. and the power claw on the nob looks like it came from a power rangers set. the warboss is okay.

i agree with a previous poster, basing them on a chaos god and making them look like chaos orks rather than a bad kitbash would really help here.
you need growths, mutations, boils, tentacles, flames, gore, guts and most of all
BLOOD FOR THE BLOODGOD.

ehhhh.... im still with balmung on his conversion idea. personally i think the orks would look ridiculous with tentacles and the like sticking out of them. sure humans are easy for mutation and what not, flesh is false as some would say. But IMO orks are tough as rocks (and easily as smart) mutations to me would look goofy. at the most i think metal melding with their skin would be ok but other then that no way. and that PK look like the talon of horus from abaddon.

i really think they need mutations, but from which god. tzeench? could work with weirdboyz and stuff like that, and it would explain blue lips. khorne? wouldn't fit the way you've painted the models. nurgle? maby, but lots of convertins. slaanesh? no. just no. dont even ponder it. or fathom it (te he he). naked orks with 'additions' aren't good.

i think you should settle somewhere in the middle of all of them. a bit like n=undivided, having certain units altered in different ways.

tbh i think tzeentch orks would work.
orks with flamers can be possessed by flamers of tzeentch.
bikers can ride disks.
etc..
