That's an amazing paintjob but i don't like the model.
You've posed him in such a way that it looks like he's tumbling under his own weight from the amount of stuff on him and screaming at the meks for the amount of teef he spent.
Whilst OTT I does make an interesting centerpiece model.
And nice rust effects.

Post by: Metsuri
As !? said before the fig is too busy and the pose is not in balance.
The paint job on the other hand is promising, the red, yellow and light green of the skin give nice contrast to the dark metal of the mega armor.

While I agree with the fact that he is quite busy, hes still pretty cool. That guy is a behemoth. The verdigris is quite excellent by the way.

Awesome work Krieger!
Although the Warboss does seem to trip over a bit, the rest of the conversion is pure win. I especially like the giant kombi-gun. Characters like this one really need special rules
Your tank is pretty cool too. The gamesday model makes a great tank commander.
Keep up the good work.

I think the warboss is missing a little something .... it definitely needs a wee bit more dakka
neat model and sweet paintjob.
the tank could stand another round of highlighting. another round of highlights will give the vehicle a little more "pop" and make the red stand out even more.
look forward to seeing the progression of your army
take care

LOLOL. that warboss is compensating for something, methinks. maybe his lack of balance . i like it though. its characterful and a pure comedy figure, the kinda thing that was missing from 40k before new orks came out.
the looted wagon is win too

Love the megamek! I particularly like how the shokk attack gun's hose is attached to a can; i imagine it's just stuffed with squigs, snotlings and just enough air to breathe. "Itz more efficient dat way! 'Dey can't run away! hur hur" Maybe if you were to build him an ammo runt, he could be holding a can with the lit open revealing what's inside them, or maybe even you could have a grot trying to stuff another grot inside one (Which one's the ammo and which one's the ammo runt?)!

I'm having a small problem on deciding though. Should Snikrot have his backpack or not?

I think he looks much more sneaky without it, your thoughts?
10890
Post by: Deff Dread red Edition
Well you know I think no backpack is better from a model and fluff stand point as,firstly he looks much more sneaky and sly without a huge backpack, and secondly orks aren't the best at planning so I doubt they'd bring all that along.
10942
Post by: !?
DDRE: Blood Axes are notorious for trading with humans and even adopting their own tactics, I wouldn't find it as a surprise to see them trying to copy Humie Kommandos 'wot wif berets an all dat'.
Kreiger: Snikrot would look much more Blood Axe-y and less Orky with the backpack rather than just looking like some ordinary Ork with two large daggers. Judging by this current outfit I suggest you do add it on as it would look weird seeing an un-kitted Ork leading a group of equipped BA kommandos.
Oh and good job replacing the ugly Kommando Dynamite sitcks with something more fitting.
btw, your Kommando Nob looks a little funny with that really big gun, might be the angle.
2050
Post by: Anung Un Rama
When I read that you build Kommandos I was expecting that they would be complety covered in armor too
I like the thought of Snikrot without the backpack. I might do that with mine and keep the backpack for the Blood Axe Warboss I'm planning to build some day.

I mean this as a compliment... your mind works in strange and creative ways....
The ideas you come up with are one thing.... but the execution of them is well done, and your painting is also very well done. I don't know if you'll have the energy to get 100 or so normal boys painted but I hope you do. because I'd love to face off against wacky awesome models like this.
This is a very entertaining and idea inspiring blog....
Have you done anything other than orks with such gusto? I'd love to see an army profile for some of your other stuff... or are you green through and through?

Thanks for all the helpful comments! much appreciated
I've decided to leave the backpack off because that back is crying for some nice free hand ork tatoo
Also, I like the idea that he has stripped his kit down to a bare minimum so he doesn't have to bother with all that hassle, plus, he is snikrot
instead im going to add a small banner like that in the dex.

Thanks, that one of the best compliments I've ever received, thanks
I will be including lots and lots of boyz, I'm currently assembling them as a side project (There's no way I could convert 80 boys in one sitting!) most of them should be mounted in trukks though.
I have collected 3 other armies, My eldar (which I sold) were dreadfully painted, then my Steel Legion guardsman (also sold) was were I started improving my painting skills and converting skills, then My death korps of krieg, not much could be said about them only ever did 2 squads and some tanks, they were far to pricey!
very nice models however
once again, thanks

I have had this old and badly painted smurf Landraider on my desk for some time.. I though now was the time to get lootin and orkify this beast into a new battlewagon. The WYSIWYG loadout is going to be: Killkannon, 'ard case, deff rolla, grot riggers, armour plates, lobba, and x4 big shootas.
Now, to the build!
First off, I remove the tracks, they seemed easy enough to scratch build as no inner wheels were required, Then, I took a look at the tank and thought, gee that looks alot like this and decide to have it backwards!
after this I plied off the engine area and attached it to the front, then, due to insomnia last night, spent about 4 hours finishing tracks!
heres the pictures:
More soon, now, gotta figure out how to make a deff rolla
C & C welcome!

ok, I was horrendously bored for the past 2 days, I thought since I'm headed off back to school next week I'd try to cram in some decent hobby time to get the most out of things
First off I used some foamcore to make a round ribbing for the deff-rolla, then wrapped very thin plasticard around it to get the circular look on, I then added some platez, glyphs and rivets to make it look ded-ard.
Then after I got my sharp ruler and pen out and took up some measurements and made an amoured housing for the gun.
The main cannon was made from an old printer roll which I sooped up to make it look alot like a fearsome weapon.
Oh and yes, the tank commander is doing what you think he is
I also made some 'uge exhausts to compensate for the size of the tank!
C & C is always welcome

I was going to do more work on my tank today, but Mork must have sneaked into my room and nicked my glue, I couldn't find it anywhere so I was sort've stumped. I cant get anymore for a week so I guess its an excuse to paint up some more stuff.
However, I'm not in the painting mood and I felt like making something.

Aye, but then again, I'd hate to take the easy way out, many people just have their gargants just standing in a static pose and I personally hate it. how da zog do they expect it to move!
Epic is good, makes it a nice challenge for me.

engine:
"Get da gubbins up to da kommanda!"
Beakie eye view
should finish this thing up in a jiffy
And on top of everything else, I also got started on my trukka's, any ork army without at least 2 trukks with a squad of boyz and Nob with a power klaw is going to lack a lot of punch , which is very important, if your an ork that is
I want the whole mob to have a real roadster theme, have roadsigns, tires for shoulda pads, and of course, goggles and trukker caps!
Got started on the nob, he looks nice 'n tough yet somewhat comical at the same time:
any ideas for the boyz can be thrown in right now

depite how busy I have been in life, I finally got all the gits assembled in the mob, now all that left is basing and adding some small details, then they will be ready fer painting
The most extensively converted ork in the mob is the ex-trukk driver of the mob ~ Grugs, but unfortunately, his arms and legs were mutilated after the trukk collided head on with a rather large carnifex. Because there were no deff dreads readily available at the time the dok added some 'special' upgrades to him, and now he's sumfink a whole lot scarier
badass ork:
clueless ork:
pretty generic ork:
ork armed with a rather pointy bent pipe:
another sign post choppa:
Double chainswords:
And, the ork you best not get to close to:
group shot:
I think they look alright with each other, this mob certainly has alot of character compared to my other 'uns
but wheres the trukk I hear you cry?
well...
Ok, it isn't much, but I did get a very good deal and managed to get the whole chassis for a meager $10, but what should I do with it?
Im sort of bending towards a sort of flatbed trukk look, but then again, I wanted it to sort of fit in with the mob, any ideas?

Your conversions are awesome! You should build the truck to be the Mega Mek dude's invention. Give it a rediculous number of exhaust pipes - 8 perhaps? Build the sides up with plastic card about 1inch tall and make the driver compartment a 1 seater. Add some nice glyphs and give it a " dozer" kind of thing at the front.
Looking forward to see more.
