Guard and Nids

Guard because they are humans and Nids because they kill everything

Guard for we are but men,tasked to fight with guns and bayonets with alot of courage behined them,we are the men of the Imperuim we stand tall and BRAVE,but I support them mostly because....they make a damn good cup of Tea!

Eldar: Awsome style of war, cool weapons, advanced tech, sweet culture, and just 10 kinds of awsome

Nids: Eat,eat eat oh and kill, plus all bio weapons so cool.

Orks: Who doesnt love endless war and weapons that shoot even though they arnt meant to

Chaos Space Marines.

Not because they're inherently evil, per se. But because they exemplify the faults of Humanity. 'Falling from grace' really appeals to me, and kind of makes Chaos into the strangely loveable anti-hero (something I've always liked is evil that you can connect with). The Horus Heresy is quite possibly the most well-thought-out piece of fiction in the Warhammer Universe.

That, and I just love coming up with modeling concepts for spins on existing Chaos armies, and painting them is really fun. There's not a model range out there I like better than Chaos Space Marines.

I also play Tyranids. I love how all of the fluff kind of looks at the Tyranids like an oncoming nuclear attack from the perspective of something like the Cuban Missile Crisis. That, and anything with a lot of customization tends to draw me to it.

And finally, I also play Witch Hunters. I like the caricature of real Inquisitions throughout history, magnified to a ridiculous degree and placed in the Warhammer universe. And Witch Hunters were kind of what I set my sights on when I first picked up the hobby.

Nids: Starship troopers.
Eldars: Swooping hawks (back 10 years ago, they looked so cool.)
Chaos: for diversity, can do almost anything with a single army
Daemons: different way to play, randomness, deep strike...

Eldar - Powerful, unforgiving of mistakes, I feel like you earn the victory with them.

Salamanders- Black men with red eyes and great with flames... gotta love it.

Bugs - Mindless eating machines.

Chaos - Not supporting the soul-sucking emporer.

Dark Angels - The first and the best. Love the fluff.

Guard, my picture pretty much explains it, but its amusing to have the ability to execute your own men lol

Dark Eldar- everything is ridiculously fast, not just Initiative but all there vehicles are "fast vehicles" plus who doesn't love all those blades!

Orks- Fighty, kunnin', green and just plain funny.

I would take the Craftworld's side

Space Wolves - My first army back in 2nd ed

Imperial Guard - I love the idea of puny humans up against the worst the galaxy can throw against them

And Tau - Just because I liked the mnis when they first came out.

orks- because building their machines is fun, because you cant be wrong, no matter what you build

plague marines- because i love how discusting they are, i love modeling the boils and nasty stuff

marines- because theres so many great models out there and i love converting, plus theyre kick-butt

Imp Guard, gotta love em. So many regiments to choose from, and every company can have their own unique uniform, the convrsion possibilities are endless. Tanks, cavalry, troops, they have it all.

IG, my Tallarn Terr... err... guardsmen are just too cool

Marines - because who doesn't have a ^%$@ ton of the engineered eunuchs?

Bugs - because swarms and giant heads are bitchin

Orks - because they make me laugh

Eldar - they look nice but are probably some of the most psychologically disturbed races out there.

CSM - All Slaanesh all the time. Because who doesn't want to get drunk, take some good drugs and kill the enemy with hot naked daemon chicks?

Necrons - I gotta use a slow, easy army sometimes.

Deathwing - Sometimes I don't want to move many models.

Daemons - When I only want to use hot nekked chicks.

Tau - they look cool and it is the only army where I move less models than the Deathwing...

damn... can't think of anything else. I may have gotten them all.

Bugs. I have incredible luck at finding bargains for them, and they rate as one of the coolest (Depends on my mood, really)

My very first WAS chaos/SM(Id switch back and forth) but the new Orks dex came out and I say screw the SM
I ALMOST picked Orks as my first army but I think peer pressure pushed me into the first choice a little bit.
I have fallin in love with the savagery and brutal nature of the Orks. Yet at the same time they make me laugh at how ridiculous they are. Besides there are few things that can stand up against the full charge of a big Nobz squad lead by an even bigger boss.

Armies in order from which I first started to latest:

Tau- (my love the mechs, philosophy, weapons, and the conglomeration of different alian races, plus in anything fantasy or sci-fi I pretty much always go for the friendly alians, ie elites in halo, elves and dwarves in lotr, etc.

Orks- I love the humor, warfare assaultiness, and above all the idea of making something out of seemingly nothing (prlly if I had to pick one would be my favorite army.

Space Marines- Raven Guard and Grey Knights- love the lore of both chapters, the armour, fighting style, and devout faith, plus they hate daemons and chaos like me.

Tyranids- I love the whole biological warfare thing, and om nom noming is always fun.

Blood ravens: they were in the first battle report i ever read.

Orks: they the best in CC IMO.

Grey Knight: there awesome nuff said

Crisom fist: cos Sternguard rock

Spaz Marinez: had so many different marine armies its untrue always liked them though, tend to only use them in pick up games that and my first army i had way back when i was 8 years old

Chaos: Marines but evil, whats not to love (apart from all the skulls)

Tau: I Like Gundam and Battletech, enough said really

Orks: Ermm Orks whats not to love?

Guard: Probably my favourite army i like big ass guns and tanks so i'm pretty much sorted with guard

Orks - They're awesome.

Khornate Chaos Marines - They're awesome.

Tau - They're aweso--- wait, I think I took them for the shooty aspect, hmm...

OH!

Tau - Because I had a badass paint-scheme for them.

Khornate Lost and the Damned- Because the normal IG codex is as boring as ! Plus my friend offered to me some Chaos bits and iconography, and some bits to make Aspiring Champions...but it feels so good! Trust me, you don't know happiness until you charge a Terminator squad with 20-something Khorne Mutants and a Khornate Aspiring Champion with a Power Fist...

Eldar- I've always liked the look of the Eldar, to be honest. But the fact that another one of my friends just had a couple of Striking Scorpions and some Guardians lying around made it even better...plus I love to paint little freehand crud even though I'm not that good at it, so Eldar are really fun.

Note that I don't have any models yet, but I will be playing renegade imperial guard and 'nids. Renegade guardsmen: because I read Words of Blood from Let the Galaxy Burn, but also because they have the massed numbers, scary firepower/tanks and gritiness of the I.G as well as the crazed, blood-soaked metalness of Chaos. And I play 'nids because they rip everything to shreds and eat them. And they have some of the coolest models ever.

NOBZ AN' ORKZ IZ BESHT!

orks: when 30 ork boys jump into a squad of space marines, i know theyll learn what hurt is.

CSM - I like the fluff and play style. Because nothing short of a titan can stop deep striking plasma cannons, and there are so many opportunities for conversions, etc. I even came up with a backstory for my own legion.

Orks - I like the aesthetic and I wanted a break from CSM.

SM- I love the fluff, and they are very common and customizable, so I can do a lot with them

Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons

Why?

Because I'm evil that way.

Chaos Space Marines: When I started collecting them I was in a perpetually angry state of mind and I wanted something to focus my evil thoughts on.

Orks:Now that they have so many awesome miniatures and a codex that is the least gakked up of all in fifth edition, I can finally relax and just concentrate on playing the game.

Chaos (every god excpet Tzeentch, but I'm working on that) - To teach the lackeys of the false emperor what true power is.

Tyranids (& Genestealer cult) - The race that got me started on 40k when all I played was night goblins. Squibly death!

Imperial guard - Couldn't resist having a gunline army. Got mostly cadians with a "veteran" platoon of catachan models who act as advance scouts. Also having trouble deciding to make them cadian or green DIY cadian model guard?

Necrons - Couldn't resist these either, and I painted 1500pts over a two week period because of bada(ss)b black wash alone, *and* necron fluff is some of the sweetest stuff gw has made, imo. I just hope any new models that come out with the new book (however far away it is) are less terminator and more ancient alien looking.

Dark Angels - After playing 40k for 9 years, you end up with space marines. If you don't play a marine army, they just sit there, mocking you from your bitz box. So one day, after buying AoBR, I decided I had to do something with them all, got some more termies, an extra dread and a landraider, assembled a few chaos rhinos in imperial fashion and kitbashed a plastic chaplain, and now there's a lot of green marines!

I picked Chaos Marines for a few reasons.

1: I like the idea of a group of soldiers seeing fault in the way their leaders are running things. The emperor as a puppet figurehead while his cronies vying for power use fear and the space marines to control their empire. The people of the emperium must be a depressed and terrified bunch. I like the idea of some marines casting off the emperor's evil clutches and turning to perceived darker beings to gain power to fight against a false god. I kind of looked at it like George Bush is losing favor, so instead of just taking his licks he tells everyone he's god and then he tells everyone that there are a ton of threats out in the universe and that man kind is teetering on the edge of destruction every single day. If man doesn't give him full control over everything, their will, their actions, and their worlds that it will all come to a violent a bloody end. Oh and don't forget that he is god now. So you have a group of very powerful intelligent men that see what is wrong so they damn themselves knowing no one will ever except them again, but they do it for their human brethren to free them

Unfortunately GW doesn't write fluff that is anything like that. After I got into the game I saw some of the books and all of the writing is terribly black and white and incredibly unentertaining.

2: They didn't seem ungodly easy to paint but they looked like they could have a little more versatility than Space Marines and didn't have the complexity of something like Eldar or Tyranids. When I was getting into it I didn't want to be terrible at painting so I was looking for something middle of the road. I almost picked Tau, but a week before I bought a codex my friend went through the armies with me and I picked CSM because of how I envisioned them above.

I was pretty glad to know they didn't suck game wise after I started painting a few squads.

Tau: Because I like the look of the Tanks

Steel Legion IG:Will be starting when I get enoguht Tau to make an all devilfish mounted HQ and Troop Blitzkrieg.

Orkz: (After Steel Legion) Because you can have a whole squad of 30 boyz with none of them looking alike.

GGUUAAARRRRDDDD. Beause they're just humans in a big universe.

Tau - I like the fluff of being a young, optimistic race in this hellhole of a galaxy. Plus with as little fluff as they have I can invent my own. (I like fluff)

Chaos Space Marines, because they're the most metal army there is. Word Bearers cause they still get Chaplains.

I used to play Epic Scale Orks, and load my army up with Weird Boyz, Mad Boyz, Pulsa Rokkitz, Shokk Attakk Gunz and anything else that was unpredictable!

I play chaos, because I like playing the badguys lol... And Slaanesh in particular because I like the elegant, beautiful aspect of him. I personally do not agree with my army, they're just fun to play.

Another factor as to why I choose chaos is because I abhor the imperium... A bunch of fanatical hypocrites, the way I see them. I'd rather be evil and know it than be evil claiming to be good. lol

I also love the Eldar, fluff-wise. I know it's rather ironic, seeing as I play Slaanesh, but in my eyes, the Eldar are one of the only 'good' races out there. I get so emotional when reading up on what they're going through that I feel bad that I play slaanesh...

CSM I played Chaos in fantasy and already had the demons (in 4th ed), I love the models though highlighting all those spikes can be a pain sometimes.

Orks. AOBR made it possible to start a second, non-SM army cheap. The conversion possibilities are a plus and the models are top-notch. I love their view of warfare too (in a miniature war-gaming sense only of course).

Actually I'd say the Tau are the most "good" race out there. I have no pitty for the Eldar, they're pansies who oppose my gods. Well I guess the Eldar are pretty cool, depending on which world they're from.

I'm also planning on doing a Chaos Cult of Khorne (led by a Renegade Battle Sister) because Traitor Guard make for awesome conversions.

Eldar armies are good at spamming good units.
e.g. you can have 10 dark reapers in a squad.
take a biel-tan list and you take them as troops,
that gives a possible 60 dark reapers

I dont mean to burst your buble but the reapers can only have 3-5 in a unit, sad i know

Also the whole biel-tan taking aspects as troops died a few years back as well as other good things like black guardians

Nurgle CSM - primarily fluff, fluff and a little more fluff. Also helps that they are rock hard on the battle field and a good look is achievable even with my shockingly bad painting skills!

Space marines and IG

Space marines just because I like the look and feel of the army

I play Guard because.......well......... Who doesn't love the imperial meat shields!

Dark Eldar cos they are so fast and a whenever i assault out of a raider on the 1st turn i get a warm feeling inside.
Also cos theyre old and therefore cheap as chips.

I started with Space Marines in '89 because: 1) I was in the military and that side of it appealed to me and 2) It was my very own, customizable Storm Trooper legion.

Then in about 91-92 I switched to Orks (and started a WHFB Orc Army as well). Something about the controlled Chaos and Raging Horde of Barbarians (ala Huns) appealed to me. That and I really like the personality in the old RT Ork/Orc line. Funny yet tough. Ruglud's Armored Orc Rangers was my first Orc/Ork set. It's been Orks ever since in 40K.

I picked Tau for my first army before I knew anything about any of the races because the idea of being a ranged shooting army appealed to me.

Since then, I've found out how uncompetitive Tau are on the battlefield, and have been using my wife's Orks to great fun and success.

They're bad azzes. They don't fight for some stupid patriotism to a dead old guy on a toilet.

They do what they want.

They're experts compared to everyone else.

Chaos Space Marines have been fighting for hundreds/thousands of years, meaning no ork or space marine should stand a chance against a "Traitor."

They can surpass the power of a mortal person. A daemon prince or chaos lord/sorcerer can surpass a loyalist goody-good.

The fact that pretty much any basic trooper is decent in melee combat. Tactical marines don't get a bolter + pistol/CCW at the same time.

CSM and Plague marines and Noise marines all get bolters and close-combat gear at the same time.

I chose Imperial Guard and Tau for two reason;

1. Both are cool races with the differences in technology but not in ideals.

2. They look good and work well together (especially in Apoc)

Oh wait and the Imperial guard are humanity's last hope if thats destroyeed there is nothing else to live for.

Imperial Guard. Basic grunts with basic kit, solving problems by throwing more men at them. What's not to like? That and the variety you can get when modeling and painting them has me hooked.

Orks, because I have loved the fluff every since Ere We Go and Freebooterz, and the models finally do the fluff justice. (Madboy modelz were always awesome though)

Eldar, because I had loads from when I last played (2nd Ed) (2500+ what I have recently bought from EBay.) The models have always been frikkin' awesome (plus Jes Goodwin and I share the same surname) and the fluff is half-decent.

Space Marines, because I have a bunch of spare SMs (enough for almost exactly 1000 points) from here and there and wanted to paint a bunch of unimportant models before I get back onto more important models. Plus, when I buy a couple of AoBRs I'll easily get up to 1750, if not more, as long as I shell out for a Master of the Forge model too.

Tau- because they appeal to the anime fan in me, I like their look, their interspecies cooperative fluff, their potential for variety, how their playstyle naturally meshed with me philosophically, and because at that time people told me that you couldn't win with them so it was a challenge(that was back in their first codex). It's now at least 10,000 points later and I haven't once regretted or hated my army once.

Eldar- because my lovely wife actually encourages my hobby and helps paint my armies. When asked which army she just wanted to paint she chose the eldar because she loves how they look. I also like the specialist style of warfare. Once again, its about the challenge and the variety of builds.

I play the Orks beacuse they are fun and I get to have a field day with conversions. As far as the fluff, it proves to be interesting and I am on the lookout for any time of literature that features the Orks [ya know, like the Blood Angels omnibus so if anyone knows anything, let me know].

Orks. Screw the fluff, I came into this game as blind as humanly possible. Never heard of the Nob Biker group, nor of the Lootas. I chose them because of how goddamn stupid they are. There's something endearing in how thick they are.

That, and I enjoy walking up a Warboss to tell the opposing player he wants to solve the matter using nonviolent means.

I play Imperial Guard because I love the underdog. Guard is what got me into 40k.

Space Marines. They just look so cool and are tough as nails in game.

Orks. I love the kid-like stupidity of the Orks. They have a simple credo: Smash 'em!

Orkies cuz dey is da stompyest and da killyest of em all. Also I love their fluff.

Yeah and they're totally metal. Whenever I think Chaos Space Marines I hear Cannibal Corpse, that's how awesome they are. Besides, the Emperor is a woose.

Honestly, i picked up some ork models to paint after the place i bought warmachine at closed, and just sort of built up models. Didn't really like the models for most of the other armies.

the art minor in me also likes being able to scratch build random stuff

Imperial guard: patrly beacause i love the idea of illtrained conscripts with shody gear tacking down the various horrors of the universe. The image of a gagle of guards screaming in terror as they blast away at chaos marines is one i approve of.

Also if they ever make plastic valhalans I will be able to make space soviets wich will make me imesurably happy.

Witch Hunters: I have always had a fascination with zealots and their blind fervor for their religious beliefs. Also, after reading the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books I knew I wanted an Inquisitorial type army. I didnt want my army with space marines, so demon hunters were out.

Imperial Guard: "how do I get out of this chicken bleep outfit?"

Tyranids: Starship trooper like aliens that want to eat your face off are pretty cool.

I have chosen the pure Chaos force: Daemons

I chose this force because of the Horus Heresy series I have recently finally got around to reading.
The Flight of the Eisentstein and False Gods make a clear message, even the power of Chaos followers (Horus) cannot withstand the power of Chaos.
The obvious reference to Plaguebearers in False Gods, and the slaying of Horus, made an easy choice, Grandfather Nurgle, god of petsilence, decay, rebirth, and love.

I picked Chaos Space Marines but I actually lead Chaos in all it's glory.

In order from fav and most used:
Lost & the Damned Mutants (Eye of Terror Codex)
Emperors Children (Codex Chaos Space Marines)
Traitor Guard (Codex Imperial Guard)
Radical Daemon Hunters (Codex Daemon Hunters)

I love my Chaos and it's form doesn't matter to me what form it is.

chaos space marines for 3 reasons 1. I HATE LOYALISTS 2. I bought battle for macragge and that had some marines in and 3. I colloct fantasy dwarfs and I like having lots of armour on I also collect orks because I really loved the models and the fact they've got a squad called nobz

My heart tells me I would lead Eldar into battle, as it seems they are the only race that really has the good of the galaxy in mind over their own good.

Orks can't really be described as an evil race because they fight because they were made to fight. It's just something they have to do.

Imperial Guard FTW!! They rule!!

That and they are the army on the front lines most of the time and you can relate to them easyer.
Its just that simple.

Another good reason is that they have laser weapons. So cool!!

Chaos: You get squads of elite niche troops backed up by some of the best firepower in the game.

For now:

Space Marines: I love painting these guys, and they have possibly the best pose ability of all other infantry models made by GW.
Tau: I thought the mechs looked cool, and liked the image of a well trained and equipped army.

Everyone else played space marines. I liked the space pirate guys with the pointy helmets, guns that shot shurikens (so pirate ninjas) and had a general attitude of "we're older than you, we've already done this stuff - we know what'll happen if you don't do as we say - because it happened to us. Won't someone think of the children?"

Nids. Nids, nids, nids a thousand times over.
Anything that customizable and versatile instantly draws me to it, purely because my battle plan changes so much.

Plus, the fluff leaves a lot of room for original stuff.

Necrons: because I used to play TK in WHFB, natural progression really. And the fluff is wicked

Starting an Alpha legion army soon probably, for them I like the whole are-we-aren't-we loyalist thing going on.

Space Wolves because I loved the fluff, and the idea of an army of supposed loyalists who really don't give a crap about the rest of the Imperium and pay attention to little other than where the ale is and when they can get into the next fight because they're bored. They're almost Orky in how much they like to fight.

Khorne Berzerkers (with a dash of Nurgle added for flavor. Yum, horrifying incarnations of plague and rot) because BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! They live to maim, kill, and burn more so than just about anything on this side of the warp. I am also loving painting them...my plague marines almost made my fiancee ill, and having a glorious red and bronze feast of carnage boiling up the field has to incite chills in the opponent, no matter how hard their army. The final reason is because my fiancee plays Thousand Sons, and I wanted an army that could fight beside her in combined arms tournaments.

I've realized I'm addicted to assault armies. The confused and horrified look on my opponent's face when I emptied both of my dice containers onto the table preparatory to rolling for a Blood Claw charge, and having to use two hands to roll all the dice every time a unit in my army charges, have burned the joy of assault into my bitter and twisted soul.

Chaos - I was actually given half an army by a friend who wanted me to play

Sisters - Originally bought ot convert into Chaos sisters but liked the Models to much to convert so started that army

Space Marines - AoBr me and a friend bought a box each for the small rule book and we tossed for who got what...so imperial fist it was

Typeline, you should check out Legion from the Heresy series, you might like the Alpha Legion's fluff.

Anyway, I play Tau on the ground. I was going to play guard, but I didn't like the weakness of their troops basic weapon. So I wavored for quite a while. When I finaly desided to buy an army I started hereing rumors for the Tau, and liked the idea of an non-marine army where their basic trooper could be quite effective w/o special or heavy weaponry. Later, after they came out, I ended up falling in love with the fluff as well.

In space (BFG) I play Mechanicum, because I love their fluff. That's really the only reason.

Love the high tech of eldar armies and love the aspect warriors

Imperial Guard and Space Marines. Play em' thanks to a storyline map campaign a cousin and I did involing his custom Chaos army invading my Guards' system.

The biggest reason I love em' is that there's a lot of story between my Marines and Guard - The original marines garrisoned there were all dispatched from a collection of some of the Legions. After liberating the 3 worlds in the system, each Legion based it's strike force on the many moons across the system. During the Horus Heresy the Marines helped hold back the Chaos tide that assailed the Capital world. System and Capital held, but were forever scarred. 80% of the Capital world's single continent was reduced to bare rock by Chaos sorcery. All the flora and fauna in the area was turned to solid stone. Now, not a single bit of plant life grows among the sea of grey and black rock. However, thanks to the immense, almost fanatical, faith of the world, and the manufacturing power of it's remaining cities, the world was not deemed corrupted, and further study confirmed this.

When the Legions disbanded, the Marines based around the system were enough to be formed into a Chapter. Feeling that the level of destruction that befell the Capital World was a mark of failure upon their new brotherhood, they adapted a dark color scheme to reflect their shame. The Guardsmen, on the other hand, revere the Space Marines as saviors of the system. After the Chapter was formed, the Guardsmen adapted their uniforms both to suit their environs, and pay homeage to the Space Marines that they believe saved them from their fates. (Hence the color scheme of my Guards' uniforms).

Needless to say, this difference of views can sometimes cause friction between the two groups, though it's rare for anyone outside the Chapter to visit the Chapter Fortress orbiting the Capital on one of it's moons.

So... yea. That's why I like playing my Guard and Marines.

Imperial Guard: The grittier side of 40k combat, also like to play them in Apoc games alongside my Tau, as the fluff "Gue'vesa"

i play orks for the pure killieness and all the custom stuff you can build it makes them very personal and i play templar for the fact the verge on crazed zealotry and there just all around not bad

The Imperial Guard for a couple of reasons:

1. I like the the way they swarm their foes with a ton of tanks, with is awesome.

2. The Imperial guard is so massive they can fight wars of attrition for so long come out as a victor

3. The variety of the imperial guard regiments is awesome and immense, but i cannot deny that the Death korps of Krieg are wicked!

That is a very interesting queastion i will have to get back to you on that

necrons all the way because they just don't stay dead. Not to mention they seem to be the most insanely versatile army outthere

Loyalists of Isstvan they have nothing to lose and everything to gain and they don't worship the emperor as a god but as a leader and they protect the Imerium of man, while upholding the old way. But the biggest reason is .... THEY KICK ASS.

Eldar for three main reasons: blending people's organs with Harlequins, zooming, and Bladestorm. plus theyre just cool.

Because you know how everyone loves bending organs.

I choose to lead Chaos Marines into battle because I love the idea of 9ft tall,super strong,ultra tough super humans who fell from
grace of doing good and protecting the Imperium,to becoming loyal servants of the Dark Gods of Chaos,hellbent on the utter destruction of the Imperium,this really appeals to me.

Necrons. I fell in love with them on the last level of Dawn of War: Winter Assault. Seeing that Monolith teleport in, churn out two squads of Warriors, then begin wrecking my Seer Council, was glorious.

I did a bit more research on them, and discovered that they were the ONLY army in the game that Gets. Back. Up. My heart was won, as I like anything that takes care of itself.

I finally picked up the Necron 3rd edition codex, and was delighted to find their truly idiosyncratic range of models. Just about every non-MC or scarab is based off one original skeleton frame, with radical modifications and fusions, and each unit is designed to fulfill a unique role, using truly bizarre means that would only make sense to a race that hated all life but existed millennia ago.

Who but the Necrontyr would've decided that the best means to deliver a terror-squad (Flayed Ones) was to teleport them underground and arm them with claws for digging their way to the surface? What other race could come up with the notion of fusing the frame of an empowered warrior to a jetbike, then arming it with a cannon that can penetrate not one, but two armored faces of a Land Raider Crusader? Don't even get me started on the wargear of a Necron Lord ("We need to slow down our enemies in close combat. How about a wristwatch-sized device that alters time for non-Necrons?")

my army i chose are tyranids because i like the idea of
a. seeing my opponent line up his army of spacemarines tactically (covering fir etc.) and then me seeting up brood after brood. the opponents will always die a little each time for every brood you put down

b. because i love the film alien, and how each tyranid model is pretty damn big.(put a termie next to a guardwsemn and suddenly, the bog standard gaunt looks scary)

Necrons. It's like leading a race of self resurrecting space zombies with guns able to sink a Titan. Plus, they have gods on their side, gods you can SEE. Awesome.

Space Marines- Purge the Unclean

Dark Eldar- Taking slaves. Love opponents characters being taken to Commoragh.

Daemons- No one in our gaming group has them.

I play the imperial guard because there is not an opponent I have played that as soon as I open my bag doesn't say "Damn that's alot of tanks"

We are the hammer of the emperor and under his watchful eye we shall conquer all who oppose the Imperium of Man.
