Some interesting stuff here. I really like the orky terrain, and the killa kan looks good too. Nice and orky looking.

You could make your orks even better by using the GW washes, the clothing on that boy looks a bit too flat as is. The skin looks good.

We have this really neat tool with this special metal wire and we run electricity through it and it cuy=ts through foam like better. It work real great for the basic structure of terrain.

My bro and I (older) are planning on making an ork barracks. So far it looks pretty neat. I think we're going to use elmers this time instead of hot glue (too messy...strings absolutley everywhere). Maybe we can start that tonight >_<

If it is, It's VERY fragile. I'd suggest getting a good few layers of hardening laquer on there.
Or just keep on using the insulation foam you guys have on that fort.

Great work though! Keep it up!

Wow guys, good stuff so far!

Hi, I'm Brother Captain Andrecus. I am effectively the fourth brother... I'm the brotha from anotha motha! Lol... Haha...

Yah, I know it's horrible. It's all I had up my sleeve... sorry.

Anyhoo.

I'm the lone Marine player in this bunch of filthy Xenos, so all you loyal Imperials out there can heave a sigh of relief to know that there is indeed a contemporary to the Hamlet-Stealer up above... It's a Hamlet-Termi! :-)

Of course, Corndoggy's conversion is much better than mine. It's hard to convert Terminators to look like Hamlet... Heh.

Anyhow. I have a couple of pics that are worth posting here. Namely my Ironclad Conversion, which I did recently.
It's set up with a Hurricane Bolter and Seismic Hammer.

That's the armor on him.

The whole conversion.

The Hurricane Bolter. (Not many people run Ironclads with this setup. IDK why...)

The Seismic Hammer up close...

He's striking a pose!

I'm known as Brother Captain Andrecus on the Bolter and Chainsword, which is where I spend most of my time. I also have an account with Imperial-Literature.net, which is a great place for fan-fiction writers and readers.

Soo... That's not all I've got, but I'm running on empty now, so I'll post more on the morrow, I guess.

Yah! That stuff. It's really weird stuff. Once you primer it it kind of petrifies and strengthens up a bit. although it's still a little week. You can make some really cool sculps with it. Especially ruins.

We have this stone textured spray that's really nice for giving that stony tecture to terrain. I didn't use it though cuase it would have gotten rid of most of the cracks and detail I put into my little walls.

Well, we got a lot of the terrain primered. Now all we do is have to paint it. I was able to crank out an ork yesterday in a litle bit of free time. It took forever to paint him because of all the detail. I hate going over lines when I paint, so I'm really pickey about un-eveness.I couldn't batch paint to save my life. Well, after I wash it's decent. It's Jungle themed

Post up those pics, Brother!
(Oh, wait. This isn't the B&C... Do they still do the whole "Brother" thing here? IDK, I'm still calling you Brother. Force of habit...)

I painted the first half of my Terminator Chaplain. Frankly, that was the easy part, just going over the black undercoat with more black. I'm going to apply Vallejo gloss to the armor once I'm done, to shiny it up.

I also painted the skull and the parchment loincloth thing. The Crozius and Stormbolter will come next. Then, the gold bits on the armor, and then detailing and finishing touches!

Then, I'll make him a base. Probably a couple of Xeno heads or something... Actually, that gives me an idea.

Bringer, do you mind lending me a couple of your spare Kroot heads? This is Elder Chaplain Elijah van Kroot-mulcher we're talking about. (There's a funny story behind that name. I'm not about to tell it, though. Bringer would get mad at me. Although he did win the game... So... Yah. I mulched his Kroot with my Termi Chappy and three Tac Marines. Totally. Lolz.)

Anyhoo. More photobucket! For the winz!

My two Terminators that are actually painted.

Another picture.

I am a proponent of the style of play known as "Terminator Spam". It's a rare style, little known of. And I'm not very good at it. But it's fun. Any excuse for a 2+ armor save... (Artificer Armor falls under this category as well...)

That's my converted Terminator Sarge, he stands in as a Terminator Armored Captain every once in a while. His name? Why it's "Brother Captain Andrecus", of course! Lolz.

I hate the hairless grampa-Marine heads. It's just one more reason for the guys to make fun of me. Also, I have hair and my face isn't covered in metal service studs. So I made a headswap. Easy and fun. Minimal greenstuff required!

A close-up.

So... That's your daily dose of Tactical Dreadnought Armored Goodness!

Great looking stuff! I have always enjoyed making terrain out of common objects. Cuts down the cost to practically nothing, and it's truly amazing how much random bits of card-board or foam are lying around the average house, just begging to be glued together and painted.

Does it stick well?

If it does or doesn't, I'd spray it with something to keep it together.

Whether you use it or not really depends what you want it for. If you want it for some strange alien terrain, you could just stick it together and not bother yourself with painting or anything else.

Yah, just use the macro function and turn the flash off. Then, when you're focusing on the model, hold down the button that you use to snap the photo, just put a little pressure on it. It should focus on the mini, and when you've got the focus that you want, push down hard on the button.

Thanks. It was a quicky for me. Its hard to see, but I poked some bullet holes in the top and added some blood smears. I was considering getting some of my Kroot bits and adding some more depth to it, but in the end I didn't. The rust turned out a little purply, but in the end it looked pretty good.

My commander is done. He is probably the best I've done yet. He took two hours! I also did use highlighting, and it look really good. I'm gonna get some picks up ASAP.

Its actually for another system (as the bringer pointed out), its a local VSF game ruleset that we picked up at historicon a few years back, quite simple and fun to play. (not sure what its doing in the 40k thread though... )

The picture of the ruins posted by TheCapm show a prime reason i now shy away from florists' foam as a terrain material... All those bright green bits are places where my carefully weathered ruins were bumped against a large figure or shelf, and snapped completely off despite hardcoating and multiple paint layers

ah well, live and learn

Spinegaunts should be incoming later today/ tomorrow afternoon. just working on the fiddly bits now.

I was wondering how you got that excelent shading, you got it to look weathered and worn both in and out of game I whant to build some more terrain today. I'm thinking about making like an ork lookout tower or something that looks like it's barely staying together.

Here are some conversions that I did recently-ish. They're Scouts wielding sawn-off shotguns. This way, I can add the combat blades as well, and they can count as either shotguns or Boltpistols depending on what flavor of fail I want my Scouts to be equipped with at any given time.

This fella has his arms magnetized so he can be equipped with a Heavy Bolter if I want.

This one has a magazine glued to the side of the shotgun. Double the ammunition-y goodness!

The Scout Sarge. No shotgun for him. There weren't enough included. S'okay though. He gets more attacks this way, and has a higher BS, so I want him to be a slightly more precision oriented model...

And yes, they still lack heads. I'm a procrastinator and I feel like fielding them without heads...
(You also might notice that I shaved the codpieces down. This is a pet peeve of mine. They just look funny...)

The pics I took weren't too good. In the back, its kind of hard to see, but to put more brown on it I colored the vent brown with orange on the inside.

That was taken like, three months ago. One of the first "good" pics I ever took of my minis...

It isn't even recent...

But if you want recent, boy have we got a show for you!

As soon as Photobucket uploads my pics...

Edit: Ok! Had a bit of trouble with Photobucket, but things worked out. So without further ado, I present to you my Terminator Chaplain!

So, that's that!

Looks pretty good. Hes really shiny, so its hard to see some of the detail...
but from the bits I can see clearly, i would say youve outdone yourself.

Is he still WIP? (just wondering, as the bullet casings are still black, and the wingaling on his chest seems to be highlighted only on one side. ) Good work.

Here's a power generator I've been working on, I might add more to it.

I made it from a hardrive, a poor, dead VCR player, and some other stuff. It can spin!

*It spins? What are you, six? Grow up dewd!**

They're going okay. I've put them on hold until I decide how I want to run them. Or rather, how dad wants to run them.

I'm not sure yet.

Keep it up guys, your stuff looks awesome, especially the tau!

although i have to ask, did you ever convert and paint a tau battlesuit with two drones pinned into the base etc, and then sell it on ebay?

i bought one and its in almost the exactly same scheme as your tau. too bad the leg to foot join broke. i had to jury rig it. lots of glue on that foot.

That's kind of wierd. I never saw anything like my scheme before except once, someone esle put green in the the cracks, but they didn't add any brown to their scheme like I did.

Also, I must credit my brother Corndoggy for giving me the idea about the brown, it really livens up the figures.

Hey, Bringer, I forgot to compliment you on your Shas'o... It's done exceptionally well!

Just felt like saying that.

These are a couple urban bases I made a while back. I plan to use them for my as-yet-to-be-assembled Assault squad...

They look really nice.

To keep you yellow paint in the lines, you could get a card or something and paint against it so you have a nice crisp line.

Oh? I use a Badab Black wash (actually, a Badab Black was equivalent...) on them already. Actually, not on the one I posted there... Maybe these will better illustrate what I mean...

Bringer, is that going to be a Tau power generator? Cuz they have those tall ones that look like squashes, from DoW, remember?

It looks like the IG power generator, kinda... Yah.

Anyhoo.

Yah, as I said its not really done. I need some more things before I can make it look anything like a Tau building.

But why a Tau building? Why not an Imperial building? They do have the most prevalent architecture in the galaxy.

Of course, a Tau power generator would look cool too.

Possible because he plays Tau, and they have no interest in inferior imperial technology

I think its lookin good. It just needs to be a bit more smooth and rounded out methinks.

Do the Tau have Titans? No.

Truth be told, if the Imperium wanted, they could sqoosh the Tau with a big enough campaign. But really, they're busy with other things, and the fishheads are little more than an annoyance, really.

Someday, though, vengeance shall arrive. "Suffer not the Xeno to live!"

Alright! Big news! (Sorta)

I went to Cold Wars, one of the biggest conventions on the East Cost, yesterday, and I picked up a box of Terminators for a ridiculously low price! Now I'll be able to add them to my AoBR Termis and my Termi Chappy! Yay!

Speaking of my AoBR Termis, I have a picture of two of them... Let me just go to my Photobucket...

There we go!

I may have already posted that, but whatever.

Also, I got a free sprue of Wargames Factory Celts at Cold Wars. Free stuff, Wh00t! Their link: http://www.wargamesfactory.com/Home.htm

Well, I fought a gamewith Andrecus the other day. He would've done better cept I took out his main reliance out on the first turn. Why don't you give em' a more detailed description of what happened Drew..seeing as I might give a bias point of view

A Band of Brother's blog + Andrecus @ 2009/05/06 18:46:19

Post by: Brother Captain Andrecus

Mine would be twice as biased.

I have the full(ish) Bat-Rep on my blog, but here goes.

He kicked my little Power-Armored tush.

And I think that's about it.

500 pts, lost my Vindi on the first turn to a trio of Deffkoptas, (Curse you, Deffkoptaaaaaas!!!)

My Captain killed a squad of Shoota Boyz. Sniper Scouts killed two Nobz (There were like twenty of them! With WS 5, somehow!!! Curse you, Bosspoooooooles!!!!) Bolter fire killed another.

Lost an entire Combat squad in CC when said Nobz smashed into it and shredded it with Powerklaws. I shot a Killa Kan with a Krak missile from my second Combat squad, but FAILED TO PENETRATE its armor. (Ridiculous! The Deffkoptas killed my Vindicator in one shot, but I can't even take out a freaking Grot-bucket?)

I was very sad. I'm also not a very good sport when I get tabled, but meh. I digress.

Anyway. My Captain did well, which was good. I still need to finish painting him.

Haha. Thanks!

More guard!

This is the Sergeant of my Hardened Veterans squad. He is converted to represent a Vitrian Dragoon, (so he has carapace armor) and he was made from a snap-fit Cadian, a Space Marine chainsword arm, and a lasgun chopped down to pistol size. He's already up here, unpainted, but I recently finished painting him up!

The Space Marine arm is supposed to be a bulky augmetic, which is why its painted silver.

Well. It's been a while, Dakka. It's been a long while. This thread probably ought to stay dead, but seeing as we're all still doing 40k, I guess our joint 40k thread can keep going too...

Here is some new stuff.

Cadians with Pig Iron heads. They're Skitarii, and will count as hardened vets, possibly with carapace.

Gunnery Sergeant Harker counts-as

Made from greenstuff, Valkyrie crewman, and Space Marine Scout heavy bolter. He's on a special base that makes him tall, as you can see.

Bleh... haven't updated this in a while...

Here is something I just finished:

I made it out of sprues and popsicle sticks, and the base is made out of mdf. Hopefully I'll update this more frequently... or just start a new thread.

EDIT:

I just finished my first two marines... and they're the first miniatures I've painted in a while.
