Sooooo after lurking for what feels like an eternity on here, I finally got to making some pictures of the stuff I currently work on. Sadly I don't have more to show, since my stuff is all deposited at the gaming-club I attend several times a week....
So anyways, I always wanted my stuff to be critiqued by the pros, paints used are mostly some really cheap brand of stuff I found in a hardware store when I was really short on money. Stuff dries to a silklike-shimmer, and barely covers anything (wich is great for layering and being able to screw up over and over, while it's still not really visible^^).
Sorry for bad english, if it appears so, but I'm german, so there might be some stuff seeming odd to you guys
That's the right wing of the Falcon I'm working on, the center rune came from the DE-codex, the others are more or less self invented. Sadly, as you might see, theres little drops of black paint all over that thing, since I had it too close to where I was applying the basecolour for my other stuff.... :(
Top part, the glowing line following the wing, is in no way finished and seems to be far to thick for my liking, still work in progress
The Dragon, other wing of the Falcon. His wing will spread over the left side when you look at the falcon, i covered up the air-intake as to paint the wing on top. Neck and Head of the Dragon are more or less done, some minor mistakes, fire is almost done. The rest of the body will swirl over the front of the falcon, looping around the right air-intake.
Aimed for a kind off asian-style-dragon, since all the other stuff has been done by everyone and his grandmother. Runes on the lower left are in no way done.
Exodyte! I always wanted to have some, so I picked up some Highelve's-Chariots and converted Exodytes riding lions, since the "we-ride-dark-elves-raptors" has been done to much already. In normal games this guy and the others of his kind will be used as stormguardians. I never had any, and didn't want them to look just like guardians, so here you go. He's a kitbash of basically just the darkelves-corsairs sprew and the guardian-sprew. The other Exodytes (pics to follow) also incorporate parts of the highelves archers, the chariot-guys, darkeldar and so forth.
His backside, I enjoyed doing the scales on that thing and tried to keep them brown-ish while still having them be green... in a way to loosen up all of those colors and for it to not be simple brown all over.
One of my firedragon-exarchs. I own 2 squads of the very antique ones, and loved them! But I always wanted to field 3 squads, as well as having all the options available, so I got to pick up one of the newer squads and digged the models. Compared to the old ones, those have magnificent detail... and tower almost half a head higher than their older equivalents He's done for the most part, only thing that will get some major touch-up will be the extensions to the runes on his helmet.
His backside, nothing spectacular.
So, here it is, my first post
Critique and Comments would be highly appreciated!

Heyhey,
Models look very dusty, maybe the pic's maybe your paint effect.
Great work on all models.
Love the idea with the DE cape's worked out well.
Converting makes the model that little bit extra special.
Layering needs very liquid paint so your in luck.
To much layers can be messy, so watch out.
Good job on free hand dragon.
HIGH LIGHT IT PLEASE.
Now looks painted on poorly highlights will give the more real effect.
Overall great work

SamG123: thanks man! Yes I do, but it's in such an unfinished state, I'm rather ashamed of showing it...^^
Typhoon: Thanks, the dusty is in part due to the falcon really being dusty (...) [edit: and, for a big part, probably due to me being dumb enough to juse JPG for the pictures and then making them smaller (my dad's cam makes ridiculously huge pics), next pictures will be .png for good quality), the rest is due to the camera, the models should have a satin-like surface, though it doesn't really show on the pics.
I will sure go on highlighting that dragon, thanks, and to many layers can really be messy, you're right^^
model collector: lol thx^^
As for the Falcon... the filling up of the air-intake is in no way done or final, and as you might see: He had quite some layers of paint on himself before i got him, then i tried to get something yellow to work (i will, however, keep the yellow surrounding the right air-intake), before getting back to black + painting stuff on top. So, here's the whole falcon:
Thanks for the replys everyone!

I love the runes on the tank, but the FDragon looks a bit too bland. I would work in a brighter red and then an orange over it. Though that is just my preference. Exodyte looks good, but the same can be said. Just brighten it up a bit, unless it is the camera toning down the colors or your preference.

In contrast to that I think the FD looks amazing. Cannot wait to see it finished.

Thank you all very much for the kind welcoming and friendly replies
I didn't get anything done on the Falcon since the greenstuff is currently drying, got done with the helmets of all the firedragons.
em_en_oh_pee: I did the Exarch in a darker colour on purpose, he's supposed to be older, more battle-hardened, more sinister etc. The regular firedragons will be in a much brighter red, I promise ^^
So, here's 3 of the 7 bikes I'm working on (the other 4 don't have anything on them but the basecolour and then highlighted the nose-part where the paintings on these 3 are, so they're just basecoated and unworthy of pictures )
strangely I can't see that one in the preview of this post... well it's not done, the white- rais originating from the "ying-yang-sun" need touch ups, the yellow is in no way satisfying.
This one is more or less done with the Front, I already did some testing on the wings... I like it^^ The white lines between the symbolicstuff on the top doesn't show in real, I have no idea why it comes out so strongly in the photograph, but I gues I'll have to touch up those as well.
That one will be very simple, just some glyphs added to the black / white lines, those lines straightened out and I'm done
Next step will be the Pilots

Everything looks great! As one of the afore-mentioned "dark elf on cold ones" exodite players, your conversion is a nice change. I too used the dark elf corsair cloaks, but for my exodite warlock squad.
I think the paint jobs are ace... the bone/brown color of the exodite storm guardian is very nice - I like the green scales over brown on the cloak in particular - and the fire dragon has a kind of smouldering-ash effect that I find very appealing. Highlighting or brightening the red would ruin that effect and I discourage you from doing so.
Your freehand is great, considerably better than my own and I love the runes and the dragon on the falcon. I would have stripped the previous color from the falcon before painting over it though.

Wow that bike is ridiculously good!
Unfortunately I'm not too good of a modeller and therefore can't model structures like that on my miniatures - i paint them! ^^
There'll probably be something tonight, some of my Harlequins if I get some done by tonight
12530
Post by: archont
*doublepost* lol
I got some work done on my harlequins, namely the first 4 whom I finished tonigh basically, although sadly, due to being used on the tabletop prior to being done / coated, there's some spots where the paint came off -.-'
That's the harlequins:
I liked him, sinister, nice, awesome model - the "vanilla-style" ---> how they painted him in the 'dex, was almost perfect, so I barely changed a thing there, except for decorating the gunbarrel a little bit
I loved him! That robe over his head, the masque on his belt, everything, awesome model and fun to do - especially bringing green and red together really smoothly.
Okay those two are only normal harlequins, but I liked the flashy colors and the whole dynamic energy within those models. I'm still unsure wether or not to try doing a checkers-style one, since 1) everyone does that and b) it's alot harder than simply doing one color and then some ornamental stuff on top^^
And the next two exodites I'll be painting. The left one lacks a certain something, and although you can't see it from this perspective (and I'm too lazy to take another picture, you'll see when he's painted / I correct it) his neck is far too long. The other one though with the sun-glasses-guardian-helmet and the lionfurcoat plus darkeldar splinterpistol and corsair arm with blade - I love him, and look forward to painting him^^
Critique and Comments are, as always, more than welcome!

Post by: archont
Hey everyone ^^
Got some more Firedragons done, 2 to go - and I'm not quite sure what to paint on their helmets / armours.
Got any ideas for the ornamentics to do? Feel free to add a few comments, I need some Ideas to keep every armour distinctive and individual ^^
All of them are basically black / red / white / Metal in some way or the other, although I did alter the kombination on the armour to keep them different while still looking like belonging together. The Tabards are a very cold contrast to the otherwise warm and dark red stuff on them, so they break up the wall of red quite nicely, I believe.
Critique welcome
edit: Lol, the attachments didn't quite like me... -.-'
Okay here goes:
1) The exarch you already know
2) The first Dragon, instead of layering while mixing in more and more red into the black basecolour i thinned down the red paint immensely and then applied more and more - got a kind of glow like effect. Sadly, the ornamentals on the Helmet are not as visible as I'dve liked, the bronze-tone isn't too suited, i believe.
3). Second Dragon, simple black to red layering / mixing (sry, I have no clue about the vocabulary belonging to certain techniques, I simply do stuff, no matter what books say / not reading anything about it). The ornamentals got a tribal look, wich i like. As with all of them I tried to catch the image of perfectionist warriors with a lot of freetime and skill, thus surely individualising their armours.
4) last two pics are two perspectives on my yingyang-Dragon. Went with a metal - to - red colour for the armour, liked the yingyang alot, easy to paint stuff, quick and efficient.

Got done with the next one, a little freehand of a bird or dragonlike thing (probably kolibri-esque?) on the helmet, theme was blue.
Instead of layering with thin red or from black to red I went from blue to red. Fortunately, it looks okay and is alot faster than the formerly used method^^

Post by: archont
tips in what regard?
Nothing more than take your time, think about the colors used.
For example: I trie to bring together a miniature by basing most colors on one and the same dark color, then highlighting up - so dark blue goes to white, goes to red etc pp.
For little freehands like that: work clean, do single, precise strokes, after every stroke, lick your brush so it really stays sharp on the top, use very watered down colors, so that you can 1) easily correct mistakes 2) it dries relatively fast. But beware: wait for every stroke to dry, the surface-tension / attraction of water to each other when working on such a small space makes it all go together in one disgusting blob.
So just take your time, do it right the first time and you're good ^^

KingCracker wrote:The fact that those are freehand is just awesome. Its REALLY tuff for most people to freehand basic shapes. I know myself, it took more then a couple tries just to freehand squares on my Orks lol. Nice job
well, to be honest: I find it much easier to freehand organic shapes than geometrically exact shapes. With the shapes you always have to keep within the boundaries etc, wich usually restults in a lot of correction work on the edges to get it clean and straight.
With runes and animals and the like it's easier, since if your line is a little bit tilted, you just go along with it and adopt to it.
So: Doing Basic Shapes is harder, as far as I am concerned^^

Got working on the final Dragon, wanna make him a devil-like thing, probably inspired by those daemonlike armours the Warriors of Sokar or whatever the hellish-goa'uld systemlords name was.
Helmet is rather dark with white ornamentals, the armour will be in a bright red (and is in no way done yet ) with pitchblack ornamentals...

yep: Get them right in the first try with a single brushstroke. After every stroke / painted line: lick the brush, as to keep it really sharp on the tip, only take a little bit of carefully watered down color on the tip (too strong watered down = no good effect / the color running all over the place, not enough = the color being sticky, hard to control etc).

Some quick pics of my Falcon, got alot done on that one, had to change the wing (it pointed the wrong way around! Oo stupid me)
I am fairly content with the outcome of the whole dragon as well as the wing (though I'll touch the wing up a little bit, dunno), runes no the left wing got cleaned from paint that didnt belong there (bad idea to apply black foundation to a model when the falcon is standing right behind it...).
Yellows on the left engine part, those little crystals and the big one the dragon is holding in its claws.... Yellows destroy your brain. I won't do something yellow too soon again.

Post by: archont
the grainy-esque nature of the black is due to a combination of camera + jpeg resizing, it's not grainy at all xD
Thanks alot ^^
For Yellow: Well, it's alright if you apply a white basecoat, but on black it's a pain in the ass ^^
More pics later, after having a nice game today I'm pumped to get that Falcon done and start the next one^^

Started freehand on the next Falcon, right wing will be two phoenixs' circling around each other (as kolibris or flys for a matter of fact, when in mating season), having a trail of light / fire behind them.
Just started and used.... yellow xD Really watered down it's barely visible but allows for a kind of use of sketching techniques when using pen and paper: thin line, working over and over to get the right form and flow, really loving my yellow right now
Pics will follow as soon as the general shape is recogniseable

You're more than welcome, heir to the Atreides throne
The outlines etc are not nearly as bright in reality as they are on the picture, for some reason (----> they're meant to be rather dull).
The upper (slightly bigger one, as is common for birds) is the female, flying in a straight line while the lower, smaller one tries to seduce her (swirling around her, flying on his back etc).
Basically all is good, except for the cripple-legs of the lower one, I'll have to elongate the body and redo these legs.
What you can't see on this picture is a really subtle gradient from black to red going from black (main body of the falcon) to pure red (tip of the wing), the brightest part being where these two phoenixs' came from...

Good news everyone, I made some progress
Things I realised after last night: Both of the phoenix' were far too small, so today I started out by giving the upper one (wich will be the female) quite a resize. In the process I got rid of her legs for various reasons:
1) Being creatures of mythologie, why would they need legs?
2) I didn't get any satisfieng results when I tried to get some legs that worked.
3) They're a general burden when trying to create the illusion of a harmonic being in a kind of wave-like-motion, legs always stand out as... dunno, the third leg, the fifth wheel on the car?
So I didn't give her a leg. Got done with her main body and tail (although I might add another one of those stripe-like-tail-thingys) as well as the first of (logically) two wings.
As you might notice the male is ridiculously small and awkward looking. He'll also become bigger, in such a way that all the Space on that right winglike thing on the Falcon is covered.
Critique and Comments more than welcome, what do you think of the rather... I dunno, anime-style-feeling I tried to invoke with the new version of the phoenix?

12530
Post by: archont
Okay, i got done with the first phoenix and started on the second one - going for a darker / more blueish-red and having lightblue / white as highlight...
Lemme tell you this: Blending from red to blue is a bitch, because although you might have a really bright blue and a bright red, if you mix them: You get a pretty dark colour.
So I did my best to get it from lightblue to red, critque and comments most welcome!

Post by: archont
Okay, so what did i get done in the last few days?
Firstly I did the finnishing touches on the first Falcon to the point where only the turret lacks decoration - expect that guy to be done by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow!
With the second Falcon I did get done with the Phoenixs' as well as the blending from the surrounding area of the male phoenix to blue, from the females surrounding area to red is still not done, sadly.
The other side of it will be with a big and strong yellow stripe, as you can see in the picture, decorated with either black or white runes, though I'll opt for black, since the strongest highlights no the yellow armourplates will also be done in white. The rest of that Wing will featur either red (wich will also reoccur on the turret in a way of creating a triangle of red, keeping the model together paintwise), the center will be either blue or... i dunno, I always wanted to do some extensive rose-freehands (There was a time when i was about 15 when i did nothing but drawing / sketching roses (wich got me a girl back then), and some of these sketches i just rediscovered), BUT there's still a third Falcon to go... Expect some rose-flowerlike feeling to the next one.
Jetbike, boring, added some runes, got done with the frontpart, did the fins on the rear and armour for pilot. All jetbikes will have the Saim-Hann-like-Rune on the fins as well as their Helmets, I imagine it to be a tribute to the windriders / a symbol to their dedication and love for speed.
Harlequin-Transport. That's the last one to be shown today. Simple conversion out of a Darkeldar-Raider and an Eldar Vyper inspired by the old Harlequin-dex and it's only tank, the Venom. Hopefully, someday, when my Darkeldar get a new Dex the conversion will pay and I'll be able to use that model as well as the Quins in both Darkeldar and Eldar armies So what I did with him... I did close the gap in the front of the Vyper-chassis, creating more space for me to paint on. The front as of now features two mask-like things (or images of the laughing god?) with the left one being blue and a pike for his left eye as well as a tear under his right eye (i might do that red and highlight it, though i'm not sure yet). The right one is a strong contrast to the blue, instead going from brown to yellow to almost-white with glowing red eyes and glowing red mouht (eyes and mouth are still WIP). That specific mask got inspired by this here... : http://ekaf.deviantart.com/art/Joker-28536970
On the tip of the vyper-chassis a classical joker-like-face with red cheeks (probably clownsnose but more likely the nostrils of a human skull) laughing at the onlooker, fading away into a checker-pattern wich will be complete and perfect on the right side but dissolve into single strings on the left side of the chassis (so the background will NOT stay black).
Directly behind the vyper-front is where my Haemonculus / Farseer or a Harlequinmodel will be standing in games, as a display of what is transported, with a glowing rune on the floor. Sadly, I am in no way content with the outcome of this one, but due to the surrounding railings and all that stuff it was a pain to paint... well, I'll see.
The back has the passenger-floor with a mixed colour (blue, red, green and yellow) on the left side of the Venom and black-and-white checkerpattern on the right. In the back, where usually the Raiders-driver is seated, will be the turret of the vyper with 2 brightlances, though that one is not attached right now.
I sure hope that I'll get some responses / critiques this time

Last shot at getting some feedback, hopefully, won't be going through the process of taking pics, cropping and resizing + uploading just for the heck of it.
Yellow is still my arch-nemesis, however, I somehow always end up doing something yellow. Something big in yellow. Blending from brown through yellow to white is pretty much the way to go, I stopped caring about undercoating since nothing will ever cover and just go through the blending / layering process... furthest right yellow area is not done yet, the spaces in-between the armourplates have to be redone in black since I was a little bit sloppy while doing the damned yellow.
The blue on the other hand I enjoyed doing, a mix out of blending, layering, using inks / very thin colors and a little bit drybrushing finally gave me the desired effect - although one strange thing definitely shows: For drybrushing I used a brush that had a little bit of oil soaked in it, wich is basically the strange shimmering lines you see running over the blue area in the first picture. A little bit of soap and warm water took care of that XDDDDDDDD
Second Picture is a full-view of the Falcon as of now, next thing to be tackled is the area between the yellow and blue color-blocks. Most likely I'll use some kind of redish color. To-do for tomorrow is also adding black glyphs / runes / whatever ornamental decoration to the yellow areas.

tortuga: What I basically did was first do simple white lines where i wanted the runes to be. Subsequently I blended from white to blue in a pretty fast way with very few steps. When I reached blue I blended to black. After all that I simply went over the original runes creating a thin white line as to make it look like glowing

These are probably my favorite eldar i've ever seen painted, and the use of that Lion shoulder pad is great on the guardian.

The yellow on the Falcon is really amazing. The way you have shaded it makes it look like it is raised above the blue. Really great. Of course the phoenixes are excellent. Really clean work.

I wasn't too sure about the yellow stripe from your wip shot, but now that you have added shading it looks awesome. I like the overall balance of the entire tank now ... at first it looked unbalanced with the pheonix pair on one side, but the detail fo you shading has fixed that.
Great freehand work! That is something that I am trying to work into my own figs, so this is quite inspiring!

That yellow and blue are amazing. I'd really like to see that in real life. I especially love the yellow, to tell the truth. It has a huge amount of depth to it. keep at this while I go check your other gallery images.

Thanks for all the replies, they really work wonders on the motivation to do some painting^^
What I did today were 3 things: One, I got done with the black-to-red gradient on the wing with the phoenix-pair, so that wing is done now. Two, I started working on the tribal that will run over the other wing and the hull of the Falcon. Three: I started doing the large area of red that will be in the middle of the Hull.
The Tribal will be a dragon (You should already be able to make him out ) and run over the whole wing. Color will be simple and plain white for all the parts on the bule wing, while those parts running over the yellow area will be black. I basically make up the shapes as I go along, adding another stroke and another stroke, trying to keep some variety.
The red thing... well I'm tinkering with the thought of extending the tribal even further, having it be white lines again that stretch over the red area in the center. I'll see about that tomorrow, when I (hopefully) get done with the tribal.
Best wishes and thanks for all the comments!

Wow, just WOW!
I have done some Eldar of my own, no pics as of yet but soon to come, and let me just say yours are GREAT! You can tell you really put in a lot of time and effort and it pays off. Make sure to do as good a job on all your mini's and all parts (don't skimp on things like guns ans sensor arrays).
Nice conversions on the guardians, makes me wish I'd had put lion cloaks on my dire avengers, the effect is just awesome!
Keep up the good work man

All of your Eldar really look fantastic. Once done, you should make a really fantastic case/base for it. Something that you can remove it from and still use it in games. But I'd be willing to bet once done, you could win some awards for that. Please keep posting pics. Stop sleeping, so you can paint more, and we can see it. Very inspiring. Huzzzaah!

phew, almost 5 in the morning here in Germany right now, I'm pretty tired xD
Long night, had dinner + 2 hour conversation with our ministerpresident (like gouvernour for US citizens) and a couple of guys from the party...
And I had more than a couple of cups of coffee too many so I couldn't get any sleep.
Turned on the music, started painting, turned it off just now and am almost done with the main hull of my second Falcon!
I had a lot of fun with the tribals, although I'll have to scold myself for being a sloppy idiot. When cleaning the model of plant-seeds (I had been sitting in the garden painting the last week, we have a really hot spring right now and there's a lot of pollae in the air), I used a brush that had some oilcolor on it from another project...
needless to say, there was a thin layer of oil over the whole model that really made progress complicated...
So that was sloppy, but that I didn't immediately just wash it of with soap and water was being idiotic, so I went ahead and painted over the oily stuff.
Results below, I really took my time and enjoyed painting reeeeeeeaaaaally slow and carefull as to not mess up anything. Next up is either his turret, or the other falcons turret, or the front of the harlequin-transport. I dunno, whatever I feel like doing tomorrow.
Critique and Comments are more than welcome, as usual, I'd really like reading your thoughts

Bajezzus, but your eldar tanks are pretty. Due to my complete lack of pretty-ful painting abilities i picked orks.
May not look fancy, but can be batched painted, ergo, Victory is mine!
But i digress, really nice tanks you got there Archont. What colours did you use to blend out the yellow so smoothly?
12530
Post by: archont
Thanks alot ^^ Thogh I'm not sure wether or not Orks deserve being batchpainted^^
For the yellow I used about 8 parts yellow, 1 part bloodred and 1 part chaosblack for the darkest parts (I only use a limited pallette of chaosblack, skullwhite, regalblue, bloodred and sunburst yellow as well as one added metallic colour).

Some new pictures, this time of my Venom-Harlequintransport ^^
I got done with the masques on the vyper-chassis and started applying a checkers-pattern. Right now it looks crap, but thats how all my stuff starts. I'll significantly tone it down in order to not distract from the masques, around the masques there will be a fade-to-black, some cleaning up to do.
This is a first draft, so to speak, basically enabling me to create a good and fine pattern on top with predefined boundaries (very important to keep it all in straight lines and not have them diverge at one point or another).
Critique and Comments more than welcome!

The question is wehter or not I'd be willing to let go of my models after spending the most part of one weeks evenings painting them up^^
Also: I doubt people would really be into buying such stuff :-/

Post by: ixlar
There is only 1 reason I wouldn't purchase them. I want to paint my own. No matter how crap mine look, I want them to be mine. But I have no doubt you would get offers. They look good enough, that if you did a display base for them, someone would pick it up just as a showpiece. Art is art. And what you have done is 40K art. Keep it up. Can't wait to see more.

? What is a Venom transport? I don't play Eldar or Harley's so forgive if it is something I missed.

In the old Harlequin-Codex a Venom was their Transport tank, described as being with the front of a Vyper and some open transport Area in the back.
So what I did was kit together a vyper and a raider to get my personal venom (---> counts as Waveserpent).

Long time no update, I apologise for that, but I was busy. And everytime I got done with something I thought, that I should gather more stuff for a bigger update.
Well, as it happens I got most of the stuff I did in the meantime out of reach right now, so here is some other stuff:
First we have the Harlequin Troupemaster, who is on the best way to being done with painting. Only thing missing is some sort of white-sillhouette of a laughing masque opposite to the checkerspattern on the back of his coat. I tried to do him as flashy as possible
Second we got a group of some exodytes, conversions using the guardian, dark eldar warrior, high elves chariot, high elves archer sprue and a couple of other bits.
Third up is a groupeshot of all the tanks I am almost done with by now, followed by a full view of both the phoenix and the last I started, a Falcon that will feature a good-vs-evil stile freehand.
The last pictures are of my first Serpent. On the right wing I tried something interesting with the panels, going from a deep blue to a red, although I am not quite sure it shows on the pictures and honestly the blend from blue to red creates some quirky effects with the surface... The yellow part is not satisfying yet. Other side, the dragon. He is almost half done, the body will be from a... I cant find the word in english, it's the color you get when mixing blue and green and lighting it up, kind of like the surface of the ocean, aaaaaah "Türkis" would be the german word. Anyways, from that rather bright color to a deep green. While doing that I tried to create a texture of some sorts, hinting at the roundness of the body. Wings will be from green to a fleshlike-color, eyes probably in a deep red with white pupil? I have no idea yet. Should I make fire come out of his mouth?
Thats it, critique and comments would be highly appreciated!

Dude, your painting is neat and inventive, you get vibrand colors AND you do awesome conversions!
Some day I'll be in the UK again, just went last autumn to take advantage of the good euro - pound conversion, but someday
I really admire your conversions and your models, and although I started out with Spacemarines, Eldar (and their sinister cousins) were my first love as well, when I started. (Sadly, the Hobby shop I went to didn't carry much else except for Marines).
Really impressive, and I feel honoured by your commendation

Well, for the record, I did nothing else in that time, I had vacation (and now I'm done with school and will go to the german army in a month), it was sunny outside, our garden has a spot with perfect light all day, I had good food and a radio I was able to carry outside while at the same time having conversations with my mum / friends.
The result is simple: One week of very very very concentrated painting
Thanks alot

Heh heh, the tutorial will be it's own reward. While we await the tutorial could you give us the link to your earlier post please. Slightly off topic...are you joining the army as a long term career? (just being nosey...I am ex-RAF, I was stationed at Bruggen on the Dutch/German border for 3 years...lovely country).
Thanks

I haven't decided as of yet, wether or not I'll do it for a longer time. But since my parents are moving to Canada and I definitely want to stay in Germany, Money-wise going to a Bundeswehr-University and becoming an Officer is probably the clever thing to do. Though I'll be in the Army, not the Airforce.
RAF, on a sidenote, is German for "Rote Armee Fraktion", a socialist terrorist organisation in the sixties, here in Germany, long since gone. I was a little bit confused when you used it in your post, since something in my brain made click and said: Aaaaah, Royal Air Force, not Rote Armee Fraktion. xD
Unfotunately the weather got in the way of my painting, here it's been raining the last two days, so no progress, sadly. There should be nice weather over the weekend, so I'll get some stuff done then, I hope

Threadnomancy go!
I could've made a new thread, but I do prefer using this one
So my time with the Military is nearing it's end as it appears, I'll start University this fall, and I did get alot of stuff done, albeit I didn't get to post that much since.. well, being with the military and time are things that don't mesh well.
So, as a little teaser, here's a shot of the Fireprism I'm working with right now.
I'll resume posting fully this coming friday when I get home from base, with a bunch of pics
ps: I'm not quite sure I like the new fireprism miniature, BOLS etc. had Pics of today.... hm.
