As I work through my backlog I wondered how many of you have a bigger task ahead than me... Primed doesnt count!

While about 95% of my assembled models are painted, and about 90% fully painted. I probably have more models than that still on the sprues!

I try to fully paint everything I buy, but you've just caught me after picking up a new ork army (and starting on eldar for next years adepticon) so sadly my percentage has dropped dramatically.

Working on a Star Grunt force in tandem with my Warmachine Pirates. I generally wont assemble anything unless painting is soon to follow. Painted this year... FOW Afrika Korps (2000points), Blood Bowl Gobos-20 figs, 30 ships for Full Thrust and 15 mechs for Battletech.

I haven't had any spare money to spend on buying new plasticrack lately, so I've gotten caught up on my painting.

I pretty much will not buy stuff unless the current stuff is painted, keeps costs down, I'm working my way through the skull pass box atm, and tryingt desperatly not to be persuaded by the giant I want.

I have around 3000k pts painted space marines but a metric ton not painted. 1500+pts Necron fully painted with around 500pts not assembled or painted. 99.9% are not painted or based for my Tau. My VC I have 20skeletons painted and some ghouls are in transition but the other 4000+pts are not painted or based.

I can put stuff together quickly but the longer I play the higher the standard of painting I hold myself to so it takes me longer to finish models to a level I like. My VC are my latest army and I want them to be the cherry big Con army. I'm working on getting 3000pts ready for Adepticon 2011.

So I'm at 99.9% assembled = painted.

But I have at least two complete armies,
unpainted/unplayed waiting in the wings... it makes me sad...

2k Grey knights painted, 2.2K templars painted, 2.5K eldar painted, 8K DE painted and a smattering other stuff. Problem is my backlog consists of Ogres with only one squad painted, Daemonw with on squad painted, and high elfs not even started. I also have about 3K of salamandes I have started. I am deciding to finally sell some stuff off. My eyes are bigger than my paintbrushes I guess hehehe.

Well, I have everything painted besides some modelling work still in progress and some units that aren't very fundamental to my force just yet, as well as some more pieces that I have yet to plan their style (a unique squad of Imperial guard). Besides that it's all painted to at least my former basic quality.

'Bout 10%.

I have 30,000 points of Guard of which 1 Russ and 1 squad of Tallarns is painted, if that gives you any ideas.

Most of my 8000 points of Necrons are painted though.

Actually something around 1450 models painted vs 8 unpainted models. Maybe 99,4-99,5 % ?

My percentage would be much higher except for the little word *fully*. By fully I take that to mean done and sealed.... I have a terrible habit of painting and then not quite being done with all the fine details, going back and adding a bit more chading, and just fine tuning things waaaay too much.

Sigh, Im really bad at this. I get bored painting the same thing all the time, so I have a vast array of partially painted, unpainted, primed, ...

These days, if its fully painted, I post it in my gallery. As you can see from that, I have only a fraction done.

My SM are the same thing. Have about 90% of the assembled ones painted, but have yet to seal them as I keep going back and doing more detailing.

Oops I think I messed up. It says assembled models. I originally put down about 85% because I included stuff still in box or not assembled. If we're just including assembled models than I've got maybe somewhere between 90-95% painted.

I voted between 21-50%. A good chunk of my Flames of War stuff is painted or mostly painted. My 40k stuff is probably about half painted. My problem is I still have a bunch of stuff in boxes and blisters.

If I'd answered this yesterday it would be 100% as finished all of my AoBR models the other day. However I just went and bought a battlebox and have been making those so more like 70% now.

Somewhere around 50-60%. I got most of 2000pts of Guard painted....then bought about 1000 more points. Most of what I have though is assembled and in the chute to paint.

My BFG fleet brings me back up somewhat, though!

Almost all my necrons are fully painted (around 2000pts) as are my tomb kings (about 1000 pts) but only a few of my high elves have been painted =/ (About 1500 pts)...

If you mean active models then its around 75%. But I own a bunch of Fantasy stuff that I have no use for so they sit in a box in my closet. Namely around 2000 points of orks and goblins that were my brothers. (For sale btw).
As a rule I try to have everything painted before i buy new stuff but I rarely ever follow that rule...

It has been a very long time since I was "fully-painted".

About half of my minis are painted, and I'm quite happy with that, given that I'm closing in on owning 1,500 minis.

I have two armies (Blood Angels and Necrons) fully painted, but the painting bug abandoned me a while ago. I've barely started painting my Eldar, and most of my Chaos is unpainted because I'm working on a huge ongoing kitbash project, and don't want to paint anything up until I've got all the parts I need to finish everything and make the army how I want it. Then, of course, I'll have to motivate myself to paint. Or find another excuse

Just starting a new army, and I'm taking the building/painting process pretty slowly. So, as is I only have one unit of models built/primed/base coated. That's it! I've got a lot to do still...

I would say about 70%, I try to keep up on my painting, but of course time is always an issue.

I've painted everything I own except for nine SMs, the Sergeant, I already finished.

meh... I just bought ~70 space marines, assembled them all, then realized I wanted to start a biker army... so they are kinda sitting to the side while I make a biker army for adepticon.

I feel like a " What percentage of models you own have been completed" would be a more interesting poll, as it asks more of how big is your backlog rather than how big is your painting backlog. That poll would also be slightly more disturbing; While I have 50% or so of my assembled (Thank you 200+ finished ork boyz) I have probably finished only 10-20% of all the models that I own.

Since I just started playing 40k all I got is the AoBR Set and from that Ive painted

5 Boyz
1 Nob
1 Warboss

I have some others that are on various stages of painting

21-50%, unfortunately. Almost all of my 1,600pt Blood Angels are painted (just need to finish a 5-man combat squad and some Scouts), but the low % comes from my CSM. I have around 5,000 points, but barely any are painted. I went a bit crazy with spending, and repeatedly bought new units without bothering to paint them. Now when I finally did feel I should paint them, I have an awful Codex that I can't bring myself to use seriously.

Therefore, most of the CSM are primed at best. Sad really, I love the fluff Chaos has, but the Codex totally killed any desire to paint the rest.

Of my assembled models, I'd say close to 70%. Counting unassembled, that drops significantly. Damn you AOBR!

I realized that I think I have more done than I have. I would say 95%, but on closer exam, i think it is more like 70%. I have a small this and that force still unpainted. My friend gave me some Christmas money and I was going to start Wood Elves, but not after this poll, thanks a lot. (hehe)

I have my 1850 of SM fully painted and I wrapping up the basing. What is sad is the tyranid and ork armies that are unpainted and thousands of points of SM still in the box. I can't paint as fast as I buy. I need rehab.

Well since Christmas, I have barely any of my Eldar painted, need to finish a deffkopta from AoBR and a Hive Tyrant and Death Leaper.

I try to paint. I really do. But I need me some variety to paint. Power Armour and Power Armour aint working.

1-20% and pretty low in that range, to boot. Half a dozen vehicles and a bunch of troops (probably 2500-3000pts, if I added up every model for both armies). The shame. Oh, the shame...

I'd say (points wise) I have painted about 60% of my armies, but as far as number of models goes its probably about half that! I tend to prioritise the big eciting things and forget about the troops.

I dont like looking at my unpainted minis it makes me feel as though im running through treacle in a 100m sprint. I got 8 termies, 5 assault, 1 chappy, 1 chapter master and a razorback left to put paint on

I also made the mistake (although i had to do it) of dropping £200 on the new forgeworld SM armour variants 2 of each i think ill leave them boxed in the cupboard so i dont have to look at them lol

About 80-90% of my Orks are painted, but 10-20% of those need minor finishing off; mainly painting the teef or base.

Of my Space Wolves, well this is my new army and not many are 100%.

I've now got it up to about 70% including unassembled, which I'm pretty happy about!

about half my Mailifaux is unpainted, but i am working on it.

i don't use figures that are not 100% painted. I do have figures that are not completed, but will not use them until they are done.

I only have my HQs and Elites painted.

The real reason is that I had no brushs,now that I do have them,I also have exams. :-(

At least I had a week off after exams to paint.
I have a half finished Champion and I really want him done.

HQ's, elites, heavy's and other are all painted. However it's that barrel of 150 boyz I cannot build the motivation to paint, I stopped dead after the first 50.

Unfortunately, I collect faster that I can paint! I also horde bits for future projects. On top of that, painting "burnout" slows me down.

Always field a painted army in any tourney. Sometimes field wip armies for practice with new stuff in friendly games.

I don't assemble models until they're close to finished. Each part is painted as I go.

I got about 90% of my space wolf stuff done and after that is my orks which around 99% of them still needs painting.

OH CRAP! I forgot about my Road Kill, Warmachine, and Hoards armies....and my fantasy...ok so about 15% of my models are painted.
Because I also have Lizardmen and Dwarfs from Fantasy Warhammer.

It takes sooooo long for me to paint my models. Lots of them are just partially painted

Of my assembled models? Very high. prolly close to 90%. Of course that doesn't include the horde of unassembled Night Goblins I have I have, or the two boxes of AoBR Orks I have (that at this point I'm considering just selling). Plus a handful of misc.

I'm getting there though! And managing (sort of) to keep my purchases to a minimum until I make more progress. (Damn you AoW slayers).

I've got a lot of kroot to paint but my other stuff is mostly done.

Yeah I completely agree, I never game without having EVERYTHING painted but as far as my collection goes, theres about 20% actually finished and the rest in random states of progress. Anything I had painted was stripped and restarted. I just cannot stop tinkering with everything.

I am OCD about painting models, I will not field incomplete or unpainted models. I just love the feeling of satisfaction when you set down a nicely painted force, Pride is a Sin but I don't believe in all that religious guff so I will continue to strive to take pride in my mini's and improve my painting.

I voted somewhere between 1-20% as a conservative answer. I'm actually a lot closer with my orks though. I painted most of the boyz over the summer.

3000ish points of CSM including Lucius the enternal 2 daemon princes termie lord, termie sorc, jump lord, a couple of raptors (need more models there) 3 bikes, 5 termies, 6 chosen with rhino, 3 squads of ten noise marines with rhinos, anouther squad of ten that i havnt got a rhino for, soulgrinder (counts as defiler), predator, land raider, obliterator and a few odd models that never really found a place in the army.

I tend to paint everything I field ingame. Right now I do have a Guardian squad and a War Walker un-primed but I've never used them in a list either.

This week has been a bit of a painting spree, finishing off everything that was previously base-coated. I can now field 3000pts of 'nids or Eldar fully painted.

21-30%. I'm in the midst of a full-on painting tear atm for an upcoming tourney next sat, and everything has to be painted and based. In all fairness I like to take my time painting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I like to do a good job. Secondly, it helps in the lean times to have stuff on the to-do list painting wise, or else you sit around feeling sorry for yourself because you can't run out and buy anything, and everything you have is painted. After this weekend I'll have 20 pink horrors left in various stages of painting and a squad of unpainted berserkers. I should get those done as well before Thanksgiving, bringing me right up to what I'm calling "Predator Buying Time".

I have a LRC needing another coat of green on the armour and the rest of the details done there and a Pred still in the box.

I buy up armies faster than I could ever paint them. I've got 10 different army paint schemes going right now, and that's just 40k. I've got a ton of warmahordes stuff to get around to(maybe) , blood bowl (4 teams) and infinity.

99% - Just finishing off my squad of 'ard boyz. I dont get more stuff till i've finished painting what i've got.

I would say since I have Orks. About 20% of mine. I got a fully painted SW and a ton of reaper models but a whole 1000 point Eldar army, about 120 boyz and tons of nobs and lootas and burna and stuff.
Plus I keep buying MORE. I also have other reapers I have not painted. Some Hero Quest Models I got with some strange really old fantasy dark elves and some horse models with guys on it that does not look like any GW model I ever seen unpainted and now I gotta Commission paint some Tau for my store AND some Confederate Calvary Soldiers for a customer.

AND I am building some Terrain for a table. Basically a set in table piece of terrain.

I used to buy stuff in small parts, a squad, a character or a vehicle. Paint it up and move on to the next.

With my current project, Sisters of Battle, I used Ebay a lot so ended up with quite a bit of unpainted waiting for me. All the rest of my collection is painted though. I would never use an unpainted model it just doesn't feel right.

I try to keep at 100%. I feel like an absolute piece of playing with non complete models.

I can be proud to say that I have personally painted 95+% of all my models. Now I have to go back and either redo some or finish detailing them. Unfortunately for me, I'm to poor to pay someone else to paint any of my models but I have been getting better.

Man, the fully painted part is what really screws me. I have a lot of stuff base coated that just needs more detail work, but none of it is technically fully painted.

2500 points worth of plague marines all full painted.

But I'm just starting Eldar. Got a squad of guardians that need ANOTHER layer of white and some detail work, and a squad of rangers with narry more than primer on them. Farseer & warlocks and a war walker still in boxes.

My problem is I found a really quick and easy way to paint decent looking nurgle troops, decided my second army would be something that would force me to be a better painter. Biel-Tan Eldar are certainly doing the job, its just a bit soul destroying at times.

Again, echoing others on here, many of my models are fully painted but not finished. By that I mean Decals, Varnish or embellishments on the bases, so I reckon 70% done.

Assembled models? I'd say 95+ %, though I'm not sure if semi-assembled counts (I left the hull off of my vyper to paint the cockpit detailing). If it doesn't, then I'm at 100% painted, but with loads still sitting on sprues.

Interesting thread. Alot of my models are metal and one piece, but aren't painted.

I won't call them "assembled" unless they've been cleaned up and put on a base for painting. In that case, I've got 85%+ of my assembled models painted.

I tend to finish painting stuff in a reasonable time after assembling it or starting to paint it. The real problem is the huge number of figs (probably 40% of my entire collection) that have not even been started.

All of them are assembled. and All the ones I use for games are painted, I have 25% of my total models unpainted.

It varies from gamesystem to game system realy. For my Easterlings in LOTR it is around 70 to 80% complet and no more work needed. For my eternal project that is my Chaos Dwarfs some 50% is painted, and that is mostly due to that I find painting resin figures ratherd more challeging than plastic ones. For 40k and my Eldar and IG alongside my Sm it is around 60 to 70 % done at this time.

I have 5% of models sitting on my desk and primed, I keep on promising to buy that last paint for them, but i never find the time
