They look AWESOME!!You should put some hazard stripes on one leg to tie it in to iron warriors. If you want help on colour schemes check out lexicanum.

A nice start, definitely.
But, many of them look simply like Black Legion Termies with a little silver on them.
I'd try to get more of a metallic color on your termie's armor.

Post by: Miss Dee
Im waiting on some P3 Menoth white and Cygnar yellow to do the hazzard markings.

Very clean paint lines, definitely a good start
One lil tip that will really help the details and metallics pop out, is using a wash and then adding a quick drybrush or high light layer.
The wash, Devlan Mud would probly work best, runs into the recesses and adds shading, another very light dry brush over that makes the raised areas look shinier. You could even try to use a silver or silver/boltgun mix to make the highlights stand out more.
I should dig out my IW and take pics, I havent looked at them in a few years

Looks great but I agree with Cryonic; on first sight they look like black legions.
I would add a considerable amount of mithril silver and yellow hazard stripes.

Looking good, once you get the stripes going I think it will come together really well, and as said above maybe try a highlight here and there and maybe some washes. Deffinitly a great start, keep it up.

Change all the black spaces on the armor to caution stripes, and they'll really be complete.

Yes there was Tentical pink and red ink for the leses.
@Mistress of minis:
Thanks Assoon as the P3 paints and the shoulder pad arrives I'll be doing the reaper and the hazard markings.

Cool. But after doing a wash you should dab adot on the corners for highlights. Those are really cool!!!!

I think i'm going to have to steal that wash and then drybrush technique, sounds good!
Techmarine conversions are really cool, especially when a chicken's involved but are like hell to saw through the torso!

I disagree, I think they are instantly recognisable as Iron Warriors, Black Legion after all are 'BLACK' and there's a fair bit of silver on these guys.
All in all I'd say top effort and I for one like the look of these guys and that's without seeing the cheverons.

I agree with Grimbrandt: These are instantly recognizable as Iron Warriors. The warning stripes would simply mash the point home like a Seismic Hammer squishing a Grot. Incidentally, I recently noticed a fantastic tutorial on battle damage that might be useful for Miss Dee, courtesy of Grey_Death, which would emphasize the hard grinding attrition-based warfare the Iron Warriors excel at.
About 120 troops, you may prefer to just go with sixty, and use the points saved on Iron Warrior-sy stuff like Chosen, Havocs, Vindicators, Dreadnoughts, and so on.

I know, one of the MO staff said IW's are a cult.
"But they are a Chapter." I said

A cult?! Kick that guy in the nuts. They are a full blown chapter. And in all honesty, are the least chaos, chaos LEGION in the game. Seriously, kick him twice in the nuts, once for your ears hearing it, and once for my eyes reading it lol

Post by: KingCracker
I dont play chaos anymore. When 5th came out, I was pissed. I literally just got rid of everything and started Orks. I ALMOST picked Orks when I got into 40k forever ago, but peer pressure lol.
Anywho, yea you can use vindicators. And if used like a wall, MAN can you lay some serious death on a table. I would swap between basilisk or vindicators for my heavies. And then a gun line of marines. I stayed really true to the fluff. Some battles Id kick some butt. And others I got it handed to me. But I REALLY loved playing the IW. They were great

I really liked the way your models were before the hazard stripes, well painted and detailed. However, I really think those hazard stripes need to be redone if you want to keep them. I would try using small bits of tape or something to help keep your lines straight, I have really shaky hands and I can't draw a straight line for anything and use that trick sometimes.

Yea, Stripes are difficult. I usually put down the lightest color first, then draw with a ruler and mechanical pencil onto that where I want the lines. You may wish to give that a try.
The latest mod is pretty sweet, though. I can't wait to see that one done.
8021
Post by: JD21290
Stripes can be a pain in the ass to paint, especially when on a dodgy surface.
Try buying a very thin fibre tipped pen to draw the lines on 1st.
makes life alot easier, allthough, due to bad camera skills this pic looks horrible, but just something ive used the pen for.

About your stripes (not that I have any experience doing them), but maybe you could lightly draw them onto the areas with a pencil and this would give you "guide lines" for when you paint them on

stripes? eh, now the balls in farsworths court;
seeing as most of the time for industrial style stripes we'll be wanting the yellow to look like its painted onto the black(ei, black is the base colour) if theres too much yellow it'll just look wrong regardless of how good your lines are.
just make sure theres more black stripes showing than yello eg.
