Oddly enough, the SoB is the only one that is really outwardly recognizable as 40k and Sci-Fi. It's amazing how bland and non-scifi regular people are in the 40k universe when their outfits aren't ridiculously garish or their weapons 3x too big. The comissar for example, has a huge plasma pistol, but without a huge sword and giant hamfists and super giant blingin' eagles, he doesn't really scream 40k badass as much as he should.
Now the chops on the other hand are a brilliant touch.

According to Eldar fluff (3rd Edition Codex I think), the finest human dancers would be unable to replicate the most basic of Eldar movements. Which would make it physically impossible for Eldar to appear in a 40K movie unless they used CGI... how depressing.

Right but We as the outsiders are the victims not him.
My point is this: I always love when some girl wears a cosplay costume that is barely covering her naughty bits, parades around in a conventional hall making "come hither faces" and posing for pics in suggestive stances and then she or someone else acts "shocked" when people focus on her as a sexual object and make such comments.

As you should be.
To be honest i am not a big fan of cosplay nor usually that impressed by many of the costumes I see posted on forums. They often fail for a number of reasons:
1. The guy/girl wearing it is unbelievable for the role and breaks the illusion (space marines don't have braces nor wear glasses, etc.)
2. Poor attention to detail or faithfulness to the subject matter
You however have neither of these issues with this SOB costume. Your wife pulls off the look perfectly and the costume is convincing to all hell. I'm curious as I have not seen any pics that show one, does the costume have a backpack/respirator unit? I think a Seraphim jumppack would be a killer addition especially since she already has the two pistols...
Regardless, excellent work.
9587
Post by: Kommissar
we want to make her a seraphim pack, but the first addition to her list is a helmet, then a full bolter, and some extra details on her armor.
she does have a backpack though,
we wanted it to look alittle more archaic, so we deviated from the standard backpack, adding the smoke stacks.
the tube hanging down the back that is seen in some shots is a camelbak drinking tube that's usually affixed under one of the pauldrons, we wanted the backpack to have some utility, so the top can be removed and we can keep small things inside, such as wallets, smokes, emergency repair kit ect.
and obviously theres a working camelbak inside so she can drink water whenever.
surprisingly the armor is pretty light, and were looking at areas to add fans.

Kommissar, I'm sure you get this all the time, but what do you usually charge(or would you charge if you've never done commission before) for a costume of this level?
Say, something like these two:
9587
Post by: Kommissar
i'm more of an individual prop designer than a full costume type.
i've done a few commissions for clients, but those are based on sketches or reference material they provide, steam punk guns for example.
individual object and props i can do, most clothing however, is not my skill set yet,
i like to make armor, and that's the closest i have gotten to "clothing"
other than hand stitching a few designs on a trenchcoat.
ideally our inquisitor will look like that for next year though..
anywho, if you want me to make something for you, feel free to PM me, we can discuss it in private, but i will say publicly that if it's a clear iconic 40k weapon for example, i would not be able to make it for you with transactions involving money.
gimme a PM though.

I've been toying with building an Inquisitor getup recently, I just need a good design to work with. I'm definitely going to go Hereticus just for the hats, but other than that I'll need to brainstorm whether or not I want to put a waist in a trenchcoat again...
I am without any pictures because my memory card was literally burned alive, otherwise I'd have some images of other stuff I have built for costuming/cosplay/haloween.
Gaming related, the only thing I can think of is I made a Magnus the Warlord costume from Warmachine which is for this Haloween.
Other than that my work has all been Video Game (Army of Two, TF2, The World Ends with You) and Anime (Mugen from Samurai Champloo, Death the Kid from SoulEater, and maybe for haloween Spiro and Mizah from Baccano!) related.
I did offhandedly mention the possibility of building a life sized version of Sorscha from Warmachine using a mannequin for my LGS (quote: "So we can be the first store without a pressganger to be in No Quarter TWICE!").
I like building stuff, what can I say?
