As I pick more cat hair off my painting area, I was wondering how many other Dakka members have pets.

A greyhound/wolfhound cross, a whippet, and my brother's greyhound is staying with my family.

Some times my cats play "mousey" with a model and knock it down and chase it allround and chew it to bits...

Hence the cabinets

I have an English Pointer (a dog) two cats and a Royal Python.

We have 3 dogs, all indoors. On border collie mixed with spaniel, one Rotweiler mixed with god knows what, and one Great Pyranees. I have so much fur attached to my army foam and heaven forbid if I drop a model while I am painting or gluing it together hehe.

I had 2 tarantulas shelob and fang but now shelob is dead

No pets but to rugrats, does that count?

We have dogs, and horses.

Not counting family pets (dogs, cats), I have a turtle back in the States.

I didn't consider myself having "pets", but I guess all the SPIDERS lurking into my house are worth mentioning!!!

(They weave their webs all over my painting workshop: underneath the desk, on the lamps, and if I wait a bit more, I'm pretty sure I'll soon find some on my most-unused paintbrushes lol!!!)

We sometimes rent a goat for the summer.

Two Lovebirds and a Cockatial.

One cat named Conrad Uno and I am friends with the outdoor spiders next to my front door. The spiders are cool and Conrad has only in his 4 year career broken a warboss's arm and planted his fur everywhere.

My cat seems to enjoy exploring the ruins of bombed out Imperial Cities, because the damn thing is constantly walking around on my gaming table

She also likes to monkey her way onto my storage shelves and rub her face against all my minis and vehicles, coating them in hair.

I need a garden hose in my basement.

I have two cats, and if I leave my brush-cleaning water for a second, one of them will spill it. They also like to take a trooper onto the floor and bop it around now and then. Fortunately, they're plastic and I use plastic model cement to put them together so they usually survive. Once I find them, which is usually months later.

I have a potassium feldspar.

1 cat with a serious attitude and fettish for chewing the barrels on ma tanks......

One cat and one dog... both mutts and rescue animals. Both awesome pets. The dog doesn't get into much, doesn't chew and only sheds a bit; the cat is good about not knocking things over though he does like to inspect my work area from time to time. He will on occasional play with the figures but that's the worst of it.

1 Canadian beagle, and 2 cats of unknown species. the cats live outside so they're no problem. and the dog can't get to my guys cuz their on shelves on the wall.

Ferret. His name is Snickers.

I own: 5 dogs, 3 ferrets, 3 snakes, 3 sugar gliders, 1 black throated monitor lizard, and an aquarium full of newts, snales, etc.

I have a Cocaktoo that talks called Charlie and two Chihuahua (which are actually my Dads).

The reason I put other is I have a daughter who can be a bit of an animal sometimes.

She managed to get into my Model draws whilst I was away and smashed the better part of £80 of Warmachine models.

I have half a cat on the garage roof.

I've had a grand total of 1 pet, and it got run over by a car. I don't wish to set myself up for that kind of pain again.

I have an African Gray that prefers to be on the floor and regularly destroys my shoes, but at least she has no interest in the hobby table.

i had a cat too, but when we where puting some new radiators in the spare room he went looking for mice under the floor boards, unfortunatly poor wee merlin forgot to leave a note and was trappad under there for a few days, don't worrie i did find him....merlin ran away after that

when i was about 13 we had 3 wee kittens and they kept gaking on the carpet, my Dad, he told me one day after school that the kittens had "run away" all of them...

all the cats i've had have ran away...

I have 4 dogs at my mum's house.. and at my dad's house.

I have a beautiful tabby cat. Even as I type this she is on my wip shelves. Luckily she seems to know better than to play with my minis.

I have a cat, Tom's her name, she so adorable and does the most random things. Unfortunetly models seem to go missing once in a while to unconvient places, ie; the toliet. She seems to know where the most model unfriendly places are.

Two miniature dachsunds. Charley is our full blood male and he has long light red hair and weighs about 25lbs. Lily is not a full blood like Charley, but a sweet little thing. She probably weighs 8 pounds (fully grown), is black and white with little tan specs on her snout, and likes to hump Charley when she gets mad.

We used to have two cats (Luke and Laia), but we left them at my In-Law's house several years ago.

My dog never wrecked my models. She wasn't interested in jumping onto tables which is where I kept my models.

I've got ten fish, and the snails that live with them.

Oddly enough I've never had a problem with them playing with my miniatures

i have a nova scotia duck tolling retriever called freckle, nice dog always wanting a pat and pawing every item he thinks will relate to food. and sheba, my 1 year old chocolate boarder collier, awesome dog and which can talk. no joke...

Chinchillas!

I have 2 cats, and one of them insists on trying to sit in my lap while I paint. This does not work very well. Many a model of mine has ended up with an unnoticed cat hair sealed to it.

And the dirtier, nastier, and more foul my painting water, the more they want to try to drink it.

Three cats, one German Shepard. The dog is no issue, minis do not run from here, so they are boring. The cats actually leave me alone when I am doing stuff with the minis. Well the biggest and fluffiest does try to help with painting from time to time. By helping I mean, she tries to rub on my arm and get fur everywhere. The other two leave the minis alone, they just like beg at the table.

Well my dog passed last year but my neighborhood has a bunch of cats there are mice, spiders, rats and birds that call my house home that I don't own

I have two leopard geckos and a Syrian hamster named Thug-Life.

Yeah, My cats sometimes "help" me paint and play games on my table. Still love them though

If my painting water is new a nice ... he pushes it over(90% of the time) . If its dirty , i have to keep pushing him away from it , couse THEN i wants to drink it ...

When i play(which i barely do) at my house , he keeps "moving the models" the way he likes , even when it isnt his turn

And i have to keep my minis in a locked cabinet(out of glass) so that he cant push them over ...

But i still like him Just keep him out of my Nerd Space

We have two fish tanks (10-gallon and 65-gallon), and a chinchilla named Fred.

I have 3 dogs and two cats and some odd fish. So far only my dogs and cats have shown interest in either destroying games or my models. I'vehad 3 forfeits due to catty interference and have lost a squad of guardsman and a sentinel to my dogs.

I have 2 dogs and so does our gaming house. Hair everywhere. primered hair on to many a model. It sucks. My dogs don't shed as much, but it still always pops up.

We used to own a really tall, white, thoroughbred horse, we sold him a few years ago because we thought we would be moving to the city, still haven't moved... God, I miss that horse.

We have two cats, we used to have a dog but we recent;y had to put him down. :( I also had two hamsters when I was younger.

My cat likes to inspect and pass judgement on my minis. This dragon received the coveted: Tastes like chicken award.



He also makes sure my light booth is set up properly.

I have 3 cats, one of them has a water obsetion and drinks my painting water in the middle of the night, waking me up. Needless to say, i will be making a pair of cat skin slippers soon...just kidding. please dont call PITA.

I rescued a stray kitten about 4 days ago when I went to the GW in Chiba city. He was all sick and stuff, but we took him to the vet and he is on the mend. Weird thing is, he only seems to be interested in people food.

I have two basenjis (arguably the wierdest dogs on the planet, but dead cute) and several goldfish.

I have a dog, a cat and more Guinea pigs than a fex can eat.

I got crabs ... not really. One dog, Corporal Klinger (M*A*S*H*), he enjoys chewing on the empty sprues. never dropped one with anything on it.

1 is a dog in disguise and jumps up onto gaming tables and just leans against anything. He catches rats, real goddamn rats, and gnaws on them also Toads - He came in last night covered in pond water and weed.

The other is a cunning little beast who likes to swipe at moving paint brushes and minis on the sides of tables. He likes spicy food.

I have a Bengal lap leopard, a big white fuzz ball, and an exotic looking stray.

3 Dachshunds.

Only had a problem when the oldest was a puppy. She chewed on 2 models(unfortunately, one was a lascannon barrel on my Armorcast Baneblade).

I have a golden retriever and a cat. My dog sheds like crazy but I manage to keep them away from my models by keeping them in a wooden box on my shelves. I still get hair on the outside of my box, so when I pick up my box my clothes get covered in dog hair.

My wife and I have a miniature Yorkshire Terrier, a miniature poodle/???/terrier mix, a young kitty raised by our dogs that actually tries to bark and lick faces, and 2 ferrets. They all get along quite well, although the ferrets enjoy chasing the cat around the room a little too much. I've lost ~5 boyz and lost the packs off my stormboyz to various animal attacks.

2 dogs (the big drooly kind.)
4 cats (the fuzzy kind, that bite you on the nose when they're happy and have breath like aged skaven.)
6 chickens (the squawky kind, who I wish I could aim a lasgun at.)
A collection of butterflies (though these ones are pinioned to a piece of styrofoam. )

Only ones to cause problems are my cats. Once my brother accidentally locked them in my hobby building (a large, wooden affair with a large, wooden table and a large collection of paint pots atop it.) and the two males promptly marked their territory. Apparently, they didn't like my prepping a Space Marine dreadnought without their supervision and so they informed me it was their own--and then they knocked my newly painted Sauron on the floor and broke his arm off. I didn't forgive 'em for weeks.

Although once, the door of the building got left open and both my dogs got in. Luckily, all they did was knock some stuff over before they left.

I have a cat. I also checked 'other' because my old man occasionally lives in the house <.<

A cat which hasn't damaged any models. The same can't be said for any of my famliy members though.

I have a Dog, Cat and some fish.
The dog has broken more than a few model with its tail, and the cats not much better, upsetting games by jumping on the table attempting to get some fuss.

Now the fish, quietly watch, making no fuss and bother, so fish are the best from to modellers pet IMO

I've had 3 Scorpions, 2 Snakes, 4 mice (not to be fed to the snake), 2 Dogs (Brutus, our German Shepherd died) 2 Cats (Doc died about a year ago), 2 lizards and 3 Frogs. I like weird animals.

So many pets... Anytime I fumble and drop a piece with glue on it onto the floor, I know it's coming up furry. I also find it amusing how much hair shows up after I spray prime my figs, and have to go thru with a pair of tweezers to pick it out.

My boy is a 4 yr old black lab cross he's my best mate hence my picture! and we also have a three yr old pure bred Samoyed he thinks she's his puppy and lets her get away with anything! she's trouble but beautiful

I have 2 destructive cats (Jack and Demetri), and a dog (Mr. Butterscotch) that my family is holding onto. Also have a Pueblan Milksnake (Sirus), and hes the best behaved of them all, including my 1 year old son (Stephen), and he chews on my fething models worse then the cats

We are literally buying a bigger home just so my son has a room for when he stays with me, and I have my own space to play with my spacepeoples.


Although my friends and I have talked about using a cat as a Stompa: just shake him in a box and drop him on the table. If the model is knocked over by Jack before he finally jumps down, its removed from the game.

Nice cats, bet he dosent miss much with those big ears

They have great hearing when they want to have great hearing.

They interestingly enough instantly turn deaf when I'm shouting at them to stop drinking dirty painting water.

I've got one striped cat, two dogs (Boxer, Sharpei/Golden Retriever), teddy bear hamster, black lop-eared rabbit, two guinea pigs, 4 foot ball python, and one North African hedgehog.

2 cats Buttons and Smokey ( Parents named em) Smokey is scared of everything INCLUDING her own shadow...and Buttons tends to horde my minis under my dresser. I recently moved my desser ( I was getting a new one) and found fifteen orks and a full blow tac squad. Since then Some of the orks are MiA, And the Tac Marine with a flamer is missing his head -.-. Kitteh vengeance is to be feared.

I had a dog, but we were forced to put it to sleep. (Her hips were broken, and she didnt feel good)

The dog doesnt shed at all (Yorkie) we have tan couch and the dog is black, he sleeps on it for hours but cant tell at all.. though he does get groomed monthly..

The cat.. is an odd one and sleeps and doesnt play, its the only one that sheds some.. but not alot.

2 cats. Both are terrors when I try to set up a game table and play at home.

The problem I have is one of the three cats, usually the one we named Loki (I know this was a bad idea as the mischief this cat gets into has been a bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy) tends to "capture or assault" my marines, orks and other models and knock them to the floor where the two dogs, a Lab/Sheperd mix named Koda and our Golden Retriever name Kiara will then join the fun by chewing them up and leaving the bits scattered about.

The real kicker is that Loki only tends to go after painted models and will ignore the bitz or any "grey" figures I have on the painting table. I had recently painted up a full units of Grots with a Runtherd that during the night after final touch-up and sealing was finished somehow ended up in nearly unrecognizable bits of chewed plastic all over the floor in about 4 different rooms.

The other animals have for the most part ignored my models.

Boston Terrier. I would like a cat or two, but my wife is allergic, more of a cat person anyway

I`ve had a cat and two gunine pigs, the cat died of age and the gunine pigs were eaten by a fox (they were in a outside hutch, and the fox turned the latch for the door, clever bastards)

My dog doesn't bother my models that much. My last cat used to eat them, but she also liked to piss on me as well, so she got a new home. My current cat treats them impassively. She'll sometimes swat one if it's in her way, but otherwise ignores them. My hamster... well... lives in it's cage.

Two cats that enjoys walking on my hobbytable and "accidently" pushing my works in progress of the edge.

I share my home with 4 Greyhounds, an old Dalmatian, a Galgo Espanol, the most evil parrot in the world (a blue crown conure) and our newest addition. Zilla "the Killa" a Bearded Dragon. We've never had any problems with models though since the Greys and Galgo are so tall they can easily see up onto my table and I had a scare with a missing bottle of superglue. Turns out I just had a brain fart and put it down in the bathroom.

The cells I grow in the lab are my pets.

I have two cats who tend to jump on the painting table and drink from the water dish (and knock down in-progress models)

I still wonder wether citadel paints taste good or do it just to annoy.

The cuddliest, fattest, gingerest Moggle in the world. His name is Samson, is 11 years old and he is my world. Coughed up a furballl yesterday, he is not in favour.

I have a Goldfish

Our pet Gerbils died last year but we're going to buy some more next week.

A Maine Coone (still have to spell that incorrectly) and a Pomeranian. The dog doesn't really mess with my models so much as he demands unending attention which can be bothersome while modeling. The cat on the other hand... I'm quite sure he's part shark because if there's anything he doesn't recognize laying around (such as miniatures that I don't typically leave out) he will walk up, take a bite on it to figure out what it is, and at that point may leave it alone or decide that it's good to chew on and bat around some more.

It doesn't help that he's a large cat, so standard-size boxes or things left to the side are easily knocked over rather than ignored...

I have a Border Collie named Bernadette and 4 goldfish. The biggest ones are Gork, the other Mork, and the other two are named Chim and Chum. Just kidding. (if I decide to name my goldfish, that would be their names)

I picked other,I have three dogs,two cats,Guinea Pig,2 birds.The only animal i have had problems with was my dog Anna,She was real bad at chewing things up.When she was a pup their were multiple models eaten.Plastic Marines mostly but her Favorite was the old BElaknor DAemon prince from the Storm of Chaos Campaign.She would break him but never chewed him up.Which is Surprising because she is a Pit Bull!Worst thing she chewed up was my new pair of eye glasses. My other two dogs are a Yorkshire Terrier and a Yorkie mix.It is pretty funny to watch them play because her and my Pit bull play sometimes rough,Where she will play attack on the pit.But the Pit never hurts her in fact she usually hurts thePit by accidently bitiing one of her ears.But they are best friends,they have been raised together since they were pups.But do not let another dog growl at the little dogs.Then the true pit bull mentallity comes out.It is kinda like she is telling the other dogs "yeah you try to mess with my friends then you mess ing with me.I had an incident with a local Rottweiler thinking he was going to get bad on her best friend the Yorkie, teeth and Hair came out.Also she is probably the fatest yorkie around weighing over 20 pounds.Also by the way since people think Pit bulls are Killers,Mine is so bad that it raises abdoned Kittens.Here is a pik of her and her baby kitten.But my pit is a true pit American Bull terrier,it is the sub breeds that are mean and also how you raise and train them.Mine thinks she is a Yorkie.Also all of my dogs were resue animals,2 dogs and the cats were homeless and my Pit was going to the local dog catcher and of not adopted within a month put down.I got all as PUPs.

I used to have a flock of rats, but after they all died I didn't get new ones. But in a few years I think I would like to have a dog once again

I want a cat, i used to have one and it kept my feet warm, and was soft. Mmm, dont know what happened to it though, it just never came back one morning, sad to think that it was probably hit by a car or somthing. Anyway, that was before i started wargaming, so no problems with him im afraid.

Have 2 Cocker Spaniels...one of them has gotten a painted nose several times from getting too close to my paint pallette.

I HAD 2 turtles, bazz and spud. And we now have a cat, trinity. The mrs wanted the cat not me :(

Three cats, one of whom has very fine hair, which I can't detect on a model until after I've primed. Many of my models have 'removed cat hair' striations in the paint job. Fortunately my cats don't seem big into playing with the minis. Closed paint pots are a totally different story.

I got 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 rabbit and a bird :3 hair EVERYWHERE!!!

Snake, bunch of fish, and along with the fish a bunch of shrimp and billions of assassin snails.

i have rats and a cat, a rabbit and a fish.. but ther's no way in hell they are comin' in the way of my power armoured buddies ^^

I have chickens so they don't effect anything.

Two cats, my boyfriend's cat, not a problem. Largely ignored the minis except for nearly knocking over our leaning tower of 40k boxes a moment ago, and forever jumping up on the shelves housing the completed models.

My cat on the other hand loves gaming and loves helping paint.

They do both love drinking paint water though. Apparently fresh water isn't good enough, it has to have Citadel paint in it first.

My lab mix named Buster, who will be forever be a fuzzy two-year-old.

One dog and a horse, soon to be another one. Both Icelandics, an awesome breed. My dog's a mutt, probably black lab and Karelian bear dog mix. I would love to get a snake or a lizard(especially a beardie) sometime, but it probably will never happen.

I need to add 1 x Horse to mine, too. Wow. Can't believe I'm actually saying that. Went and met her on the weekend, love at first sight.

Now I got yet another hobby to juggle.... at least we got her for geeky reasons! Taking up Jousting and Skill At Arms.

I'm happy that I got almost all the peices back together. But the 2 up in the right corner is broken.. The good thing there is that I don't use those anyways.

But imagine what he does to my minis! The other day one of my marines good the ride of his life, And now he's afraid of flying.. Won't even get near a drop pod anymore the poor thing.

Lacy's an ex-racehorse thorougbred who's been a broody for a long, long time and popped out a couple of foals, her owner passed away so we're going to retrain her into a skill at arms/jousting horse.

Spookily enough she's identical in looks and height and personality to my old horse I had as a teenager, except for her thoroughbred ears, and followed me around like a lamb first time I met her.

The downside is I wanna paint! Haven't painted or played in weeks! Damn hobbies.

I'm actually surprised that dogs are outranking cats, considering the number of felines often appearing in people's miniature painting blogs and the like. Although that might just be the need by cats to sit amongst miniatures or on small pieces of cardboard..

my cat is forever looking at my mini like they're chew toys....

I've got a dog, but he doesn't shed that much. I make sure to pick up my miniatures/paints so that he doesn't try to eat them.

I have 3 Chickens with most unimagniative names ever...
Dianna, Cuckoo and Antoinet. Seriously my grilfriend and her brother cannot name anything.

I wanted: K.F.C, Comrade Stalin and Robot Chicken which are much better names i thought.

We also have a cat that helps me wargame, she sits patiently watching me game and if i'm loosing badley i usually roll a dice her way and she'll roll it for me, she also moves the models round to, but only when and where i tell her, shes a great cat.

My dog died recently.

Roommates have a Dog, Cat and Horse.

I'm about to purchase a horse for myself, hopefully trained for next hunting season.

Two Dogs. One big and a girl, the other small and a boy. I used to have a cat aswell.

I've chosen other as there is no choice for no pets.

I have two pugs named Bela and Penny, and two cats named Socks and Niblet. The pugs are way more into destroying fabrics that chewing plastic, which is nice, though when left alone too long they will rip the stuffing out of pillows and blankets. The cats I hate, but my wife had them before we got married, so they stay. They are surly and lazy, but they don't get up on table surfaces, which is a plus. As soon as I resurface my gaming table I'm moving it into the house so it's nice to know the animals won't be on it.

A wife, two sons, two ferrets, two gerbils and a Chihuahua.

Beagle with a disfuntioning thyroid, so he is fat and sheds alot.

He might only spen 10 min in the garage but thats enough time for enough hair to build up on the work bench to make a wig for a 16th century judge.

A stuffed degu (google it, its like a rat squirell) that died many years ago. hes quiet, but im not one to pry

My sister has a hamster and she thinks its.funny to put it on my table so it runs around mocking figures and paints onto the floor.
I am thinking of getting a knkajou or 2 degus.

See, you say they have no way up to it, but that's just because they've decided they don't want to.

My cat likes to drink the paint water, but leaves the minis alone, my daughter's fish is a non-issue, and my dog is new, and hasn't had the opportunity to wreck anything!
