Hello,
Thank you for your recent Space Hulk order. Some of you may have noticed that your "My Games Workshop" page is showing your order as having been dispatched. Please be aware that this is not the case. Due to a mix-up in all the excitement to pack the thousands of boxes we will be sending out next week, a small number of orders were inadvertently marked as having already been sent. We apologize for any confusion: your order will be dispatched shortly and you will receive your copy of Space Hulk no later than the 5th of September.

Even though I haven't ordered it I feel your pain.Waiting long for an already long awaited product is rather maddening(as I found out when I had to wait two months for my IG battle force, but that was back in 4th ed.).
I could give you and awkward nerd hug if you would like?Yet I think for now the best I can do is a manly pat on the back accompanied by the words,"There, there lad it will be alright."

My order says "Being processed" when I look up the status on their website.
Confusingly, it also says Qty. ordered 2, Qty. despatched 2, and that the product is not available but can be preordered.

GW US does not ship pre-orders in the order they were made (not sure if anyone has figured out what shipping order they do use, especially GW ). If you were first order, there is no promise that you will even get a product. I pre-ordered the Vortex Grenade within hours of it being posted and they kept take orders for weeks afterwards. I only got one because I happened to complain at the "right" time as they had just found few more in the warehouse.

I'm not even sure what 'dispatched' means... does that mean it's on it's way? or does that mean it's been pulled off a shelf and is sitting in a shipping room somewhere in the GW warehouse? (I get a mental image of the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark and wonder if they'll ever find the box again...)

Post by: BrassScorpion
Well not everyone in the US, even if it's been delivered. My copies were delivered today, but I can't get ahold of them, GW will not release them.
If I had had them shipped to my house, I would have them already. But since boxes tend to arrive more reliably in good condition at the GW store for me, I had my copies of Space Hulk sent there, including the one for my young son, whom I've now had to disappoint. Now our copies of Space Hulk will just sit there at the store till Saturday.
There's also an issue with packing slips. Apparently there's also a mix-up with no packing slips being included in the shipments, so there's no way to tell which shipment is for which customer. This appears to be a wide-spread problem for most if not all of the shipments, at least from what I've seen locally at two different stores.
I don't criticize GW very often, but personally I think they are handling the delivery of this release quite badly. This is a bit of a mess with so many copies already at people's homes, hundreds if not thousands sitting in stores already paid for that they won't distribute for days to come, and no packing slips in the store deliveries to ensure orders are distributed properly. I don't like being penalized for having my merchandise sent to the store rather than my home and there was no mention up front when I placed the orders weeks ago that this would be an issue. I'm certain my credit card was charged when I placed the orders without delay. This is one instance where I am less than pleased and I called Customer Service to let them know that.

Fixing your timer shouldn't be hard. You can find sand and you should own a pin vice. Make a small hole add sand and seal it with hot glue or epoxy. But if I hear of anyone doing this to give themselves a 5 minute timer...

Good. While I got mine sent to my house (and they showed up already, thank goodness), you have every right to be angry, since you have PAID for the product and it is available to consumers (at some level). You shouldn't get penalized for going through the store. Frankly, it would increase pre-orders if you were allowed to pick them up when they arrive (while non-preorders wait until release date). This happened to me with the IG Codex and I was none too pleased. If it happened with SH or the upcoming SW, I'd probably actually rage. It's bad for customer service to have double standards for the same behavior (preordering and PAYING).
The only consolation I can tell you is that the product is worth the wait.

Guys a street date is there for a reason, if the FLGS sells you your copies early they could lose the right to sell GW products, its the same thing with wizards of the coast, and the video game industry. You guys wouldnt have a gripe if the personal shipping date was pushed back, but it seems GW sent every order at once. Our rep is already confirming they have at least a few extra from stores reducing their order...
13937
Post by: BrassScorpion
Except that hundreds, possibly thousands of people who had these sent to their homes already have them. Remember, most customers aren't members of this forum or posting here. If you've got a few dozen people here saying they got theirs at home already, then many more times that number of people out there have gotten these at their homes already.
I understand the philosophy on the street date and trying to be fair to trade accounts, but this policy rarely ends up working equitable for everyone in the end. Every time I bump into this policy it's a nuisance and there have been times when I didn't pre-order something just to avoid this very issue. And if it's going to be a huge issue, it should have been made clear up front when they charged my credit card weeks ago for this.
Pre-orders are often a mixed bag. Usually they work out okay and as expected, but there have been times when I've had some really unhappy results. Example, when I pre-ordered the stratagems set (with resin markers) for Cities of Death, it literally took them 6 months to fill the order. I never had an explanation or apology, it just showed up one day 6 months after I "advance ordered" it.
When the Foundation Paint set was released, that was the first time I bumped into this pre-order/release date issue, only I was not warned ahead of time. Up till then, when my pre-orders came in they just gave them to me. When that one came in I made a 1-hour round trip to the store to pick it up only to be turned away. That was the first, but clearly not the last time this issue has proved inconvenient for me. However, this is the first time I raised a bit of a fuss over it. At this point, I'm just tired of it and I felt the need to express that to GW directly.
15076
Post by: fire4effekt
The reason thousands...hahahahha, thousands, of people have them is because GW is lazy, and bulk shipped everthing at once, meaning personal customers and trade accounts recieved on the same day. Much bigger companies understand this and either A) Send em seperately or , B) not sell them at all to personal customers. You guys knew the date when the game would come out, and really shouldn't complain that you can't get yours early. Just because he got his, and she got hers doesnt mean we should all freak out when you can't pick up yours. Sit patiently, or cancel your order and by from GW, i bet you the saturday shipment will be in your hands before you can get another one.
Just adding a bit of the email i recieved: SPACE HULK – The orders for your copies were placed on Thursday August 27, these should start arriving about Wednesday this week please remember that the date they can be sold is Saturday September 5th, we currently have a few copies of Space Hulk left from those accounts that reduced their quantity so if you need anymore let us know ASAP.
Its not our fault, support your FLGS or at least your LGS

My order came this morning, and I'd like to say I am super happy. What actually happened was I opened the box, super happy, and immediately became super annoyed. The insides were mostly alright but the timer was smashed into a billion pieces and there was sand EVERYWHERE. I played a round tonight and all the pieces kept skating around on little flecks of sand. I wound up vacuuming the table repeatedly but still haven't got it all.
I'm not going to complain to GW since I already have a stopwatch for SH, but I wish they had put the timer into a box or baggie.

My timer was not damaged, but the side of one of the game boxes I received was totally smashed. I thought about returning it to the local store, but decided just to open it. Getting it early is worth a little damaged box, and I still have two that were undamaged.

Everyone's priorities are different. I have to say that I expect my game, which with tax costs more than $100 US, to be in pristine condition when I get it. Damage of any kind is not acceptable. It's a premium, limited edition product and I'm not accepting damaged merchandise. In such a case, I can wait a few days to get what I paid for, which is a new condition copy of the game, not something that already appears used and abused.

I would give them a polite letter about it. There's expecting to get what you paid for on a brand new product and there's being a dick, and expecting them to send you a new timer is definitely the former.

Whut chu talkin' bout, Willis? I just ordered another copy direct from GW about five minutes ago. They said it was in stock and takes about a week to ship. This will be my second copy, which I ordered solely for the Marines. I plan to sell the 'Nids and super heavy cardboard stuff on eBay to mitigate the cost of the Marines as much as possible. I was willing to just buy the Marines on eBay till I saw what they were selling for. At $50-70, it made more sense to just by another copy of the game.

Im kinda annoyed and will be called Customer services later on today and asking for a replacment copy. I visited my local GW today and managed to source a replacement from their surplus stock in case online cant supply. This is the 2nd time that ive discovered GW deliveries stashed in my garden... Bah! With the economy like it is, they should be thankful people are still shipping enough stuff to let them have a job.
Edit: Finally got mine last night, well worth the cost, shame I only had the spare funds handy for one.

Maybe not, some shops have been shorted, asked to return stock or not gotten any at all.

Easy enough to ship over there. I assumed GW would have some for sale in shops, but if not, pop me a PM. I ordered extra, and got them all in.

I'll look for some cheaper way to ship, man but it's an expensive box to ship from Philly to the UK. Too big for flatrate, and heavy.

I know mate, i hate this fething island at times
But yea, if i want the termies from the box then i may have to pay the heavy shipment lol

I recieved my 1st Space Hulk box about 3 days ago and then I got my one i ordered in store today. The reasons apparently for the store delays are because there are that many pre ordered online that there taking the store copies that will be available from Saturday and sending them out to online buyers. My local store went from haveing 90 for sale on Saturday to having 60 as demand is apparently rather large. Surprise, surprise

You can't, it's tied to your ISP.
PM LegoBurner, he may be able to do something about it.

I am not happy at all that I can't get mine at the local Battle Bunker until tomorrow. I specifically asked when I ordered if I would have to wait and was assured I could pick it up as soon as it arrived from Mail Order since I was just having it shipped to the store. I paid in full 3 weeks ago and now I have to keep waiting when GW Mail Order sent everyone to their houses days ago and the independent store less than a mile from the Bunker has like 15 copies for sale on the shelf for sale. I should have just canceled my order right then and there and got my money back. Then I could have swung back to the other store and bought it tonight.

The store a mile from the bunker is also breaking the street date they agreed to. But that's an odd problem, since GW broke it themselves by shipping orders out so early from mailorder. In the future they should just skip the whole ship date bs.

Anyone who has a confirmed pre-order from GW should receive their goods in time.
If you do not have a confirmed pre-order, or you are worried that your order might get lost, NOW is the time to rush down to your local GW before it opens at 10 a.m. with Space Hulk on sale over the counter.

Curses.
Mine arrived, but the mission book has a problem with the one of the page signatures, meaning that although pages 1-8, 17-32, and 41-48 are fine, the other are out of order and/or not present at all. :(
This can happen in any printing process, but if it's happened to any significant quantity of the games, it really should have been caught by quality control -- preferably at the printer, rather than at GW.
Anyway -- I've emailed them and hopefully they'll send a replacement.
On the upside, the minis look gorgeous, and I've already started removing blood drops to turn all the termies into Deathwing.

GW doesn't have quality control.
And this seems to have happened to a few people. Get in contact with them ASAP.

GW's in the states should have a good chunk for sale today. Talking with one near by, they had low pre-orders through the shop, but have 70 copies coming in for sale. Independents won't be as well stocked, but should still have some. Larger stores might have taken more, when they became availabe in the last couple of days. (Some stores didn't take all they could, making more available to others. Hence me jumping on the phone, and getting 100 copies in yesterday. Yay!)
I'll be very curious to see what the stock levels are after the weekend is over. I suspect the states have a bit more on hand in shops, but that's mostly guess with not as much data to back it up as I like.
Its a "2 pots of coffee" morning, and then a run to the shop, and throw open the doors to let the mob in. !!

My brother who is moving to the USA soon, has offered me his large Spulk 1 collection including two copies of Spulk, Deathwing and 25 original metal Termies.
If I buy it I can add it to my own three copies of Spulk 1, Deathwing and 12 metal Termies and my two copies of Spulk 3.
If I take him up on it, I will be able to play the biggest games of Spulk in the known universe. It has to be done!
(Cackles maniacally.)

Me being a dumbass forgot the release date was today lol.
I was close to buying stuff that had been early, but i now have one, and just what i want
The box is new and sealed but as said, it was an unwanted gift, so a nice buy it now option of £35 done me well XD

I pre-ordered AoBR from them and got it two weeks late. I got SH a couple of days early. I've no idea how GW does what they do. As for the Mission/Rule books, I checked and everything is fine with them so at least I don't have that to worry about.
Next box comes in sometime next week. I'll be taking the Marines and putting the rest on eBay.

YAY! Mine got here.. and luckily my timer was shipped in a little bubble wrap bag so when it shattered on one end, the sand was nicely contained...
One of my corridor pieces got banged up pretty good - sprue ripped it up. John over at GW said they were going to try to get new timers to send out and didn't think it would be a problem and was going to try to get me a replacement corridor. Very nice guy - was first time having to talk to them.
Now to start clipping and cleaning.. then eventually painting.. and maybe even doing a little playing...
