All codexs that is written by Alessio Cavatore and Mat Ward these men have made 40k not fun anymore. And should be burnt at the stake for there heresy.

I dislike the Necrons myself, I find them a bit too boring...

Often when assaulting a planet, an entire company may enter in drop pods and as there are no thunderhawks in 40k, then there the closest thing a marine player can get to a space marine chapter assaulting-a-planet.

This goes for all chapters and includes chaos space marines.
I think the game would be more fun without them. They look ridiculous. Their physical appearance alone makes them more comical than orks imo. I cannot take them seriously or look at them with any degree of respect. I see no appeal to them whatsoever.

I don't think orks fit into the sci-fi setting very well but they are much cooler than SMs.
I think pretty much all the other armies are really freakin cool.

Any army played by an opponent who can't finish 5 rounds in 2 hours.

This is *usually* a horde army... but sometimes it's just questionable parentage.

Don't have any hate for the others really because it would be boring to play just the armies I like to play. I am glad sometimes people may hate my csm, wolves or eldar because then I don't have to play myself basically. They will pick one I haven't chosen.

I hate space marines because there are just to many people play them so you lose some of the variety of the game. So events have looked just like a re-enactment of the Horus Heresy because there are so many marine on marine battles going on.

Eldar and Dark eldar. They're too hoity-toity.

Orks, just because they are just lewd and crude. I dislike them for having no sophistication.

Space Marines = devoted holy warriors (i.e. Knights Templar or some other silly such thing). I dislike their arrogance. That goes for any offshoots/successors.

Imperial Guard = WW2 movie stars with cool tanks (trench warfare and the like makes me think of them that way). I dislike their cavalier attitude.

Tau = Japanese anime rejects (boo). I just dislike that whole style of art, it makes me wanna barf.

Tyranid = "Alien" movie knockoffs (still any way you cut it I guess they're still cool for being the perfect organisms). I dislike how obviously they were copied from popular culture.

Necron = Egyptian/tomb graveyard spoof oriented for the 40th millennium. Eh. I dislike them less than others but they just seem dull to me.

Chaos = modernized version of hell (ok that's kinda sweet but a little bit extreme). I dislike how they hate stuff just cause. Get a life.





So I guess you can see that there is something to like/dislike about every race, but still Eldar get me the most. The flamboyant colors just irk me.

The new marines are cool. The RT era "Fat marines" were hideous too and the chaos figures just... barf.
I would probably play Tyranids or Dark Eldar if I played back then. Or was even alive.

Necrons. Some very cool troops models but the rest and their rules are . . . :yawn: hmm? what were we talking about again?

I hate Space Marines

Dark Eldar because they are so out of date, and lets face it the models are crap.

Necrons, because they're a PITA rules-wise.

If their rules could be fixed, then they'd be OK.

Necrons, cause of their monotony, and their WBB reall annoys me sometimes XD

I like Space Marines, but sometimes the fact that everyone has one is enough of a reason to make me hate them too.

I hate Space Marines because they seem to be almost all GW supports. If GW would support the other armies as much as Space Marines, 40k would be a much more enjoyable game, due to the increased variety in armies.

Space Wolves - Hated them even before the new codex. They always got one more rule to dick with you. Now they got even more bend over and take it rules.

Blood Angels - The old rhino rush and charge spam of yester year still leaves a lingering taste of bile in my throat when I think of it. Like now.

I. Hate. Tyranids.

Without Number is the most annoying rule I have EVER been up against and the armies are entirely lacking in fluff and individuality.

I HATE Space Wolves intensly.

I aslo HATE Space Marines in general -they helped teach me to play, and i see many starting players turn to them because of their ease of play -fair enough.
But I feel experianced players should move on...

I HATE how one race constitues more than half of GW's efforts.
There is pretty much SM, and the 'rest'. Even our LGS' 40k products consist of 50% SM products. Grrr


i've found the rule is:
I (along with many others) HATE whatever army is most popular at tournaments.
atm, that army is SM, more specifically SW.
but let's be honest, +- 4 years ago it was chaos...
Now just look how things have changed, but the rule still stands.

Err... Space Marines and Orks are the first two armies GW introduced. They're the spirit of 40k.

I personally love Space Marines (although there is a lot of them) because I really like their whole background and diversity and how theyre humanities ultimate and last defenders, I also really like their whole knightly and couragous attitude, I don't blame them 4 being so popular cus theyre that cool! It beats having another army as most popular, i mean can you imagine how boring it wud be if necrons were most popular for example, with Space Marines you can get variety! and I think they look COOOOL

anyway, thats just my opinion, either way, Chaos suck!

I also hate Sisters, because of faith points, and ridiculous 5th edition edges that were obviously not intended originally, and the codex was written 2 editions of the rules ago and is now wacky crazy:

D6 AP 1 shots? Not what was intended.

Instant rally even below half way better than ever before.

Book ignores all morale modifiers, significantly better than when it was written originally.

A unique mechanism for hit and run better than everyone elses?

Fluff-wise, I hate Space Marines. At least Chaos (the concept, not the codex) has some character and variety (and generic daemons!).

Gameplay-wise, I hate Nids because of Nidzilla. Spamming crap? Ok. Spamming crap that my army can't possibly have enough shooting to effectively deal with, and getting shot MORE times than I can shoot in two turns in response? Ridiculous. Hopefully the new codex will strengthen the hordes a bit and still allow some decent MCs without going overboard.

We hate you too, filthy Mon-Keigh! The way I see it, the stereotypical Goth is far too self-loathing to adequately describe one of the Dark Kin. The pretentious view that "the universe sucks" may fit a little better, but the Dark Eldar are much more ambitious and devious in my eyes. They're more along the lines of "We're all gonna die, so let's steal, rape, get s-faced, and pillage while we can". Tau are weak, that's obvious. But you don't have to lay down the hate that much. People just don't like tau because their battle hardened knights in shining armor get shot up from 72'' away.

I have a serious problem: I don't hate any army. And it sucks, because that means that I've been tempted by every single army around.

@Augustus: I think you are talking mainly about SoB, not Witch Hunters in general. But think about it, what are their range capabilities? Pretty much zilch. They NEED to get up close with those melta's.

Apart from a few perks I don't see what the trouble is. It's harding than you think giving them invo saves. (must roll over the unit size, so standard sister squads are right out). And Faith Points are not eternal.

They are not undefeatable, and when you think about it they really are just chicks in power armour. About as easy to kill as your average SM.

I don't 'hate' any army (there are players that I'll make an exception for, though).

I won't play with certain armies as their models are ugly and I refuse to sully my display shelves with them, but I don't hate them.

I dont mind Tau, its nasty in the shooting phrase but then it more than evens up in the assault phrase, I say give Tau a break, theyre only young!

Space Wolves: Really more for WHO plays them. Its always the creepy old guy that looks at you (or your daughter) in that freaky way, and had the suspenders and neckbeard. Also as a child I hated them cause Dark Angels hated them.

Eldar: I hate Elves. Period. If they still had Squats they would occupy this spot. Something about the "Tolkien" races pisses me off.

By no means did I mean that ALL SW players where like I described, just the ones Iv played. And they all tended to be really snobby. Its all left a bad taste in my mouth for the army in general. Kind of like when you get treated badly by all the staff at a retail store, you tend to dislike that chain in general.

I haven't come across an army I hate yet...give me time though I'll find something to despise soon enough

I don't really hate any one particular army, but i am annoyed by certain aspects of them. One of them being the popularity of SPHESS MAREENS.

I hate that poorly put together, unpainted army. The one that has a model that doesn't represent all the weapon upgrades purchased. There's an HQ that keeps moving from one unit to another, not due to movement; but to the fact that two identical 'models' are representing two different things. Not to mention that troops keep exchanging units as well, as there is no defining characteristic to show which unit they belong to.

Also, I hate the army that is ran by the guy who keeps forgetting the rule changes between versions. The army that always has rules in its favor, until you force the issue to the BRB and/or codex.

Did I mention the army with the shot glasses representing Broadsides?

Sisters (Orks have an allergy to fire) and Grey knights (Orks have a bad enough BS why make it where they can't see either.)

Orks don't respect armies that sit in a corner and shoot (Tau and IG, you know who you are.)

I don't really hate an army specificly, because they all have something that makes them awesome.

Exceptions:
Sisters of Battle (Nuns with guns? Don't think so.)
Eldar (There's just so much I don't like about Eldar, that hte stuff I do like is buried under the hate.)
Dark Eldar (Eldar, but with Eldar being on the very end of the bright and colourful spectrum, the DE are on the opposite.)

What I dislike about specific armies;

Necrons (Actually, these guys are pretty cool. I'll leave them alone.)
Tyranids (Cool race. I'll leave these guys alone too.)
Space Marines (Can shove that fanatical 'For the emperor!' stuff up their . Other than that, cool race.)
Chaos Space Marines (It brings together everything I don't like about SM and adds more to it.)
Daemonhunters (Don't they get Grey Knights? Other than that, they earn my dislike.)
Imperial Guard (One word: Flashlights. Other than that, cool race.)
Orks (Theres something that just irks me about Orks, and I can't figure out what it is.)
Tau (Another pretty cool race. Kroot are awesome.)

Is that about it for 40K? I think so.

Space marines suck, when I got the assult on black reach set I played them but I soon got borde, so cut them up and use them on the ork bases

I'm pissed off mainly because the Chaos Codexes are so damn neat and tidy. By that, I mean, I hate the Chaos Marine codex for the reasons H.M.B.C. does.

They actually don't, it's actually just GW putting into language we can understand. Ork Language compared to gothic is probably very guttural and bellowey. The reason it's broken is because of their tusks, so their language system would probably lack some sounds and linguitic techniques that other races have.

Nazdreg could however speak Gothic, and he is one of very few who can just like when things are correct and proper and in their place

Sphess Puppies. Never really liked the fluff, the models, the general theme of the army - probably doesn't help that I used to collect Thousand Sons =P. They just really don't appeal to me in any way, shape or form; and this was before the new codex (haven't played against the new codex yet).

Dark Eldar, because of their look and their vehicles (those things look ridiculous and hilarious at the same time, like a flying pointy Black Pearl from your nightmares or sth). Tau infantry looks kinda meh too.

Fluff-wise, everything seems plausible.

Space marines. I like fighting a variety of armies. not the same one 2 out of 3 times.

Im iffy about marines. On the one hand they do get old. On the other hand the games are much more tactical in general. Obviously if someone is running raider rush it comes down to if you stopped the raiders or not. But a balanced marine army will always provide a fight. Compared to say guard or orks where it boils down to either getting enough of your guys in hand to hand or shooting enough of theirs.

I dislike Tau. Mainly because I dont like the Crisis suit models. Or Kroot. In fact the whole model range is about the same standard as Dark Eldar. Naff.

I dislike the dark eldar, just ninnie pirates that give actual yar har pirates a bad name. And for the hell of it im going to say Necrons, not fluff wise but units wise, they only get three and you only use one, damn boring, DAMN BORING!

I'm not fond of space marines mainly because too many people collect them and the battle is quite boring, Space Marines V Space Marines. I like Chaos the best because there is such more rich background behind them and the tales of the Heresy is just awsome. I really Like Khorne Chaos armies, although a pre-heresy space marine army would look cool.

I'd have to say a two-way tie between Spehss Mehreens and Necrons. Mainly for unit reasons. As I play Tau, I possess very little in terms of commonplace weaponry to prevent those damn 3+ armor saves. (Basically railguns and a couple of heavy short-range weapons on Crisis Suits...) Plus, I freaking hate seeing an entire turn of shooting get thrown away because all of the Crons stood up again.

For pure flavor reasons, also the Spehss Mehreens. Just because they're kind of dull. Outside of the Horus Heresy (Which was partly Chaos-related in the first place) the whole backstory just seems to scream, "We're Space Marines, we're awesome, and you all SUCK!" I much prefer the dark, tragic story of the Eldar or the expansive, close-call tale of how the Tau became a people. (Seriously. Just as the Imperium plans to wipe 'em all out, a massive warp storm starts up and stays there for a couple hundred years? I'm a Tau player, but even I call shenanigans on that one)

I hate Chaos Marines.

All the "Grrrrrr. We have hated for 10.000 years!" and "Look how badass I am! I mean, just look at the spikes and horns! cmon man, look!" doesn't really appeal to me.

On a side note. After having tried to bring about the end of the Emperium of Man for 10.000 years and having failed, one would think someone in charge would say;"Screw this! Lets hate the Tau instead. Sounds a lot easier.".

Can't say an Army, just some rules that GW made.

I just for some reason have an inexplicable hate for those armies. It's got something to do with them being all "for the emperor!" and "I have guns!" simultaneously. I don't like how every model in their armies can do anything, and any of their tanks can do anything. They don't have a specialty, I have guns and can do whatever I want. They so damn boring. The different marine types each taste slightly different when you fight them. Nuns with gu... umm Sisters and IG are just... I don't like them. They're very bland. It's also got something to do with having to see all those models on the table, I can imagine each one of them saying "Hey man, I can take any special weapon I want!" and me wanting to slap them.

It's completely irrational, but going against either army I literally think yo myself, "screw this" and just kinda scoot my models around until the match is over. I can't take them seriously and just don't care to. I used to think guard were cool because of doctrines, bionics, catachans and little subtypes, but now they're dumbed down. Sisters have always had the "dumbed down" feel to them, faith points are cool though. Overall, neither army can hold my attention for very long. The last time I actually cared to play against guard it was when I reluctantly accepted to play against a Krieg seige army. That was fun, normal guard games aren't.
