Well I couldn't be bothered doing up 50 different blogs because I'm just farting around doing whatever comes to hand, so I decided I'm just going to do a random blog of randomness and put everything in here. So much for order and filing and alpha-numeric cataloging systems - here it is - random.

So far I've been playing around with some bits and pieces, I have a few commission bits to do and some more troops to add to the Iron Warriors army that has been sold, not to mention the army sitting on my bench that is a bit of a fart around while I decide what to do with the rest of the models in the house...

First of all, here is the first batch of Thousand Sons marines based, cleaned and undercoated - I have a total of 36 to assemble, and here are 17 (because 1 sorcerer hasn't been done yet - thinking of how to convert it).

And a couple of Thousand Sons dreads. They are not all stock forgeworld arms, I had to convert a couple out of bits out of my bits box - let me know if they look cool Christo or if you think they need something else

I particularly like how the extended DCCW worked out - I actually like it a lot ATM

Here are the current progress shots of the forgeworld Lightning - I'm going to be constructing a base for it as well as using some of the forgeworld book techniques on this one to get a bit of fun airbrush type painting going

As it currently is (disassembled):

And assembled with the pins holding it together:

Resin isn't a lot of fun to clean up and work with I find, but the model is definitely very cool!

And here are the things I am doing for myself: A Dark Angels Army!

So plenty of stuff going on at this end. This is a big part of what I am playing around with the airbrush for. If I can cut my basecoating time down then it's time to churn out some more armies a little quicker! No more hunting for non-existent paint colours in a can!!!

And maybe some fun airbrush weathering and highlighting techs!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The army consists of somewhere around 30-40 terminators of various types, 2 drop pods, 5 landraiders, 1 landspeeder (so far) 2 basic dreads, 1 venerable dread, 1 heavy weapon dread, 5 vanguard, 5 sternguard, 30-40 basic troops and 1 rhino/razorback interchangeable combo - I think that's about it...so far.

Hahahaha! Thanks for the laugh - I'm just glad I wasn't drinking anything at the time

I should help you by providing you with information on how I did mine Here's the article I wrote over on CMoN:

Hope that helps.
Lava bases are a bit tricky until you get the idea together, but once you have a plan you have a plan.

Here's the latest update - got a lot of stuff on but it's cool

I've been enjoying playing with the airbrush now that I've got the main hiccups ironed out. Next time I fire it up I'll be trying out the Paasche single action to see what difference that makes to the whole process.

Here's the progress - it's mostly on the Thousand Sons:

Second batch undercoated and assembled:

And the 4 sorcerers from the boxes. I've played around with them - it's a bit hard to convert these suckers without major remodelling, but I think I've pulled off the effect pretty well. 4 of the same sculpts with enough variation to make each one distinct:

My only wish is that the heads were separate, that would be sweet. They are a pretty good model and have some nice sculpting on them - I do like the imagery of the sons very nice.

I'm working on attempting to make the weird ball in the hand of the 2nd sorcerer from the right a pulsing energy bolt ready to unleash. I think it's looking pretty good so far...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And some bits and pieces of random extra work I've done in the last 6 months or so - just to add that extra dimension of true RANDOM!

Lemming, always love watching your creations taking shape...

but I have one very annoying gripe, the quite obviously Slaanesh symbol on the Thousand Sons Dred banner (the daemonette banner I think?) which just keeps catching my eye and making me twitch... I'd strongly advise finding a more Tz looking icon.

Here are the pics, firstly the mass undercoated lot and the dreads:

And the test model - I have some minor touch ups to do on this one but this is basically it. I intend to use this as the basis of the rest, unless there are some alterations I need to do to the colour scheme. I do tend toward being a little darker in the colours, but I think this one works pretty well:

Here's what I have been playing around with today. Mostly a lazy day as I'm still looking at the masses of blue Tzeentchy Automatons and still stirring myself up to get them done! I've painted on the silver areas of 3/4 of the lads and one of the dreads. I said to myself I would do them in smaller batches. Myself decided to keep painting the areas that I was starting and keep going.

Wow I must be insane. I can't convince myself to do it on a smaller scale! Lol.

I've also mounted the Lightning onto it's base (damn iPhone - I'm getting lazy with my punctuation because of it's auto-correct!). And if I do say so I think it is looking very nice. Maerlyn suggested the change to the positioning to make it look like it's buzzing a canyon or something and I do have to say it's looking very nice at this angle and height.

Here's the pics of the jet:

I've now had two people say they want this jet when they saw it, LOL I have to fight them off with a stick!

First of all ...

no thread necromancy intended but I have to post! Seriously, I once browsed here and since then I had to check back twice to find this thread because it's pure awesomeness. Seriously dude, your Phoenix Kings diorama kicks butt. Inspired me to do something similar myself ... just ordered the first two Phoenix Lords (Karandras and Fuegan) myself.

Top notch work, truly inspiring. Also your Chaos work! Love it.

I really love your bases, but I have to say I am a fan of the work. The smooth yet rich texture on the model with the paint shows what a good painter does. It makes the work look simple but it isn't. bravo.

I've currently been going crazy laying on the base coats. I've done the blue, silver and whites now and am up to doing the gold trim. The gold trim is pretty fiddly and I've only managed to get 8 of the guys done in that so far. I think here is where I'll start with the smaller groups of batching. We'll see where that thought goes.

No pics for an update today. Too lazy and on a bit of a downer with this rubbish house buying stuff. Tired of it - I wish it were over.

BUT - I have finished painting on the main colours - Gold Trim, Silver metals, pale grey tabards, black bases and namely the blue main. I've finished doing that for all 37 models including the dreads. I will probably get a pic up and working sometime next week when the colouring is looking a little more impressive.

To be honest I can't believe I have done that for 37 models ALL AT ONCE. That's a new personal best lol.

Do you paint the gold straight onto the blue?

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/01/15 12:03:37

Post by: Lemmingspawn

Gold straight onto the blue. Yep. It actually creates a cool effect under the blue - it gives it a nice tone as long as the gold isn't too thin.

I've had a bit of a disaster today. With all sorts of stressful things occurring, I managed to drop the windshield of the cockpit onto the ground. I didn't notice it until after I stood on it. SOOO - I've undercoated the plane but unfortunately I've gotta rebuild the windshield so I'll have to do that this week. Bummer. But at least the main coating will be done. And the windshield is easy enough ... well kinda ... to rebuild. That'll be for later.

Well I thought I would grace you all with some progress shots. I've repaired/rebuild the canopy of the lightning and gotten a heap of extra work done on the 1kSons. A friend of mine suggested I break up the colour of the bolters, so I've added some extra differently coloured detail to them to take away their pictorial dominance...

Have a look:

I've gotten a bit further this week - as well as played around with some other techniques getting ready for the coup-de-grace on the lightning. That'll come soon enough - I just have to (still) work out what order to do stuff to it!

Well not really an update but kinda cool...

I never realised how good an army could look in a display case! I always liked my Tyranid army and the way it looked, but have never had it in a display. This week I took it down to our local shop for them to display it as part of a promo for the new nids and WOW! It looks amazing in the cabinet. I'm totally shocked and how much better it looks!

I thought I'd show off my babies with some ordinary looking pics of them in a display case :p

Well I've been playing around with some stuff today. I decided to practice with some pastels so out they came and I did up the base for the lightning.

Woah.

I love pastels.

I just can't wait until the lightning is to the level where I can weather it with them...and I'm almost there...

I've also done a comparison with two of the Thousand Sons, I weathered one using some pastels to give it a bit of an aged dusty look - let me know if you prefer the effect with the colours dulled down some with the pastels and if you think I need less or more...

Enjoy!!

I think the pastels vs. no pastels on the T-Sons is really up to your taste of what you're going for. I don't think one looks markedly better than the other. The dusty look is nice on the one with the pastels, but frankly, the brighter look also has it's place, too. Both look great!

WOW! as has been said, your work is AMAZING Lemmingspawn, I am almost ashamed to say I missed the Iron Warriors and Ork Blimp blogs so I had to read them start to finish...

But yeah, I don't think there's too noticable a difference of the thousand sons, I think I preferred the weathered one, but maybe make it look a bit more weathered?

Also, do you do this (commissions etc.) as a job, or do you need to have another job too? Just out of interest as its something I've always wondered...

great job again Lemming!

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/01/28 07:48:44

Post by: Lemmingspawn

Well that's complicated to answer - lol... I'm doing the Thousand Sons as a commission as is the lightning for the same person. And I get to do these while I do my main job - my hands are free for the majority of the day so I can paint and convert while I work...

Ideal situation

And the Lightning is spiffy as well!

As a bit of a temporary distraction from the Thousand Sons I've been asked to do a display model up for our local shop. I'm doing a Mawloc and it'll be done up in Phil Kellys' Jormangandr colour scheme I've done the rest of my tyranids in.

Here are two of my carnifexes I did a couple years ago:

And here is the constructed and based Mawloc ready for undercoating:

I attempted to make the base look like it's sitting on the hole that it burst out of. I think I did ok, but if I do another I'll sculpt it with more putty or clay and make it deeper and more convincing.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I cut and redirected the tail a bit to straighten it out and show the hole a bit more. I had to remove 2 links out of the tail to make it work, so I shaved and cut bits of it and then stuck it back together. It's got a slight kink in it but I've managed to straighten it mostly to make it look like it's sposed to be like that

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2017/02/05 09:32:52

Post by: Flachzange

I agree that the hole should be a wee bit more visible if you really want to make it better. However, it looks pretty cool as it is. Awesome scheme too

It's ok - the job isn't really that awesome. And it's not something everyone would be able to do, paint and work I mean. I can juggle about three things at once at the best of times - I'm very good at multitasking.

"I'm very good at multitasking"

So what Lemming is saying is the HE is actually a SHE?!

I love your Tyranids too, have you considered one of the Forge World Heirophants?

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/01/30 11:55:15

Post by: Lemmingspawn

NO! I am NOT a she

I know this is a misconception of people that men cannot multitask and women can - I can multitask better than any woman I know.

I just can't multitask unimportant irrelevant things

And I hate it when people talk during movies - that's not multitasking that's just rude

I've thought about a Heirophant but the reasons I don't have one are:

1. Cost
2. Cost
3. Cost
4. Impractical in my house
5. Cost
6. I'm not sure how I could strengthen those bastard resin legs
7. Big resin models have been a pain in my experience so far
8. Cost

Maybe in the future. But not right now.

I would like some of the FW hive tyrants, both flying and non flying versions - that may come

I've been doing up the Lightning at the same time as painting up the Trygon and I have to say - the lightning is turning out so much better than I expected! I've been using some bits and bobs out of the imperial armour modelling book and it's helped me to get some bearing on this model. Because it's all experimental techniques I have not used at all, it's been a slower process than I may have taken had I done some more of this type of work. I'll definitely be doing more of this type of painting on the landraiders I have waiting for my dark angels!

Anyways - I talk too much - here are some pics of the model. It's pretty much done - I just need to do two more of the lights and I'm thinking I'll just gloss the two front headlamps, I think they look good how they are and suitably represent unlit bulbs. Let me know if you think I need to do something different with them though.

And there will be some tufts of grass on the base

damn thats one fine model you have there, just wondering if you used an airbrush on the model and if so, what products you using for it? (researching a bit for airbrushes). i like the blend of green to blue, very realistic. Nice work.

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/02/04 07:12:39

Post by: Lemmingspawn

I've been using a Paasche single action for the main airbrushing. I'm not sure the model or anything because it's actually not mine. For paints I have been using all sorts to get the feel. This one I used Tamiya colours on the desert colour areas, and Vallejo on the undercarriage. I've used Windsor and Newton Winton oil paints for the oil washes and Pledge (Future floor polish or Klear depending where you are from ) as the water soluble clear varnish. I've also been using Wattyl matte estapol as the matt varnish.

For GW and Vallejo paints I have been using a clear Windex neat as the dilution medium. For the tamiya I've just been using the tamiya x52 or whatever it's called. I don't like using water as the dilution agent in GW and Vallejo because it tends to allow the paint to run more than I would like. And paint that runs is STUPID! in this situation. The paints I generally dilute by roughly half and play from there.

I also run the Pledge straight without dilution.

I think that's about it...any painting that requires brushing on is done with GW or Vallejo. Any airbrushing is done with any of the paint I have available now, depending on colour.

I was playing around with the real colour wheel which mostly operates in the CMYK colour patterns. So when you use that the complimentary and contrasting and harmonious colours are changed in a slightly different way, meaning the usual colours for Karandras and Baharoth end up different. It was a bit of an experiment in the colour theory as well as just wanting to paint them up for giggles.

And I've wanted to do that display base for a long time. I just wish it hadn't warped on me.

Here's some more stuff I've been up to. The Mawloc for the local shop owner is finished and in it's rightful place

Here is the finished line up.

Done in the same style as the rest of my army. The main difference is I did this base with pastels which is becoming one of my favourite basing techniques.

When I first starting assembling the Mawloc I started thinking "wait this isn't much difference in size to a carnifex."

How wrong was I. It's just the proportions which had me fooled.

Getting there with this list of stuff to do! I just keep looking at my Baneblade after the success I had with the Lightning going "Oooh - I really want to do that baby up now!" and make it all dirty and stuff

I've magnetized the baneblade so it can also be the hell - thingy as well. In the process of originally building it I broke/lost/mangled the original coax autocannon so I had to rebuild the gun.

Anyways - that stuff is old news but I felt like posting something

I've been playing around some more with the thousand sons and I've done a bit of a flame motif on the bottom of their tabards. It's weird. With the motif I like it clean. Without the motif I like it dirty... lol

Anyways - have a look - see what you think. My thoughts are I may need to clean up the tabards a bit and brighten them again after the pastels so that I can then go back and do the flame motif. The pastels stick quite well so they are not very easy to just wipe off. So what I have learned so far is that I will weather them with pastels before approaching the bases, so the bases retain their brightness.

Anyhoo - pics:

I've just caught up with this thread and there is some great work in here Lemmingspawn. The lightning really looks great. I may have missed it somewhere in here, but how did you make it's base?

Keep up the inspirational work!

I have to say that Sorcerers staff look's awesome and I like the way it and the spell effects colours match. I also really like the Lightning - it reminds me of regularly getting buzzed by fighters turning the afterburner on as they pass over the car at a nearby fighter base.......

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/02/26 10:14:02

The base of the lightning was done using a core of foam with a filler smeared over the core to give it the shape. I then roughly shaped it using a sculpting tool. And then once it was dry I used a wire brush to give the texture of the rocky areas a wind worn appearance. Then I basically painted it up.

Well the Thousand Sons are basically finished now. Here are the current pictures of the group:

Thanks for the comments guys helps me "keep up the good work" for your eye candiness!

The next project I'll get started on is either a Hive Tyrant for the local shop (again ) or an Ork Zeppelin commission job. Seems I'm doing a bit of work for others lately it's lots of fun doing what I love!

I need to start working on some concept pics for the Zep so that I have an idea of what to do there... any thoughts or ideas would be sweet - I'm looking at a concept somewhere in the middle of the two I did some time ago, a la:

and

or something...

Oooooh another Zeppelin?! That'd eb awesome, I read the 1st Zeppelin Blog back to front, as just ideas how about:
- It towing something?
- Attempting to take off?
- Crashing?
- Mixing it up with, say, a forgeworld flyer?

Anyways, good luck Lemming, it's gonna be great!

DAMN my fingers hurt. Metal models suck. I've been playing around with the hive tyrant to prepare it, I'll probably end up painting that soon. Here are some pictures:

I've converted the hell out of the tail and stuff and changed around a few things - reposed the left and right whip/sword arms and extended the whip out. I think it looks really good now.

I've also been playing around with some concept pictures for the zeppelin - here's a teaser of some ideas I've been playing around with.

Biplane style:

Random ideas:

Looted valkyrie thoughts:

I'm still playing around with thoughts on it.

I think of them all, the looted Valkyrie is my favourite, purely for the thought that Orks, when they can't fix something to work the way it was designed do have a tendancy to make things work anyway with ingenuity. If you did go that route, you'd perhaps want to put in some obvious signs that the Valkyrie was broken, like locked down landing gear, broken wings, a missing engine perhaps, it could be a lot of fun.

Alternatively, build a mini-fortress of scrap and scavenged parts attached to the lumpiest, least airworthy looking balloon you can.

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/03/02 22:54:35

Post by: Goliath

I have to agree with elfboy on this, the idea of a Valkyrie broken beyond all repair strapped to a balloon on order to make it work is pure genius.

Hell yeah. The Tyrant looks badass too.

Post by: Lemmingspawn

Ok - here is the Hive Tyrant completed. That was quick!!! Lol - it took longer to assemble than the Mawloc because of the metal misalignment issues, but once I got painting it didn't take long.

Well, after this I've yet to decide what I'll do - I think I'll be starting on the Dark Angels army for the moment until I work out what direction the Zeppelin is going in. Or maybe the flipping Ordo Hereticus partial display army I've had sitting on my shelf assembled and undercoated for...say... 3 years?

OR I could start on some of the new ork stuff but I haven't bought any of that yet...

So many things to do, so many ideas! Perhaps I should summarize...

Plans I want to get going on - Space Marine/Angelic army using necron rules (coz that seems to fit the idea for an army that is hard to kill because its' like, angels!); Custom Dark Eldar army for my bro - but I have to work out how I'm going to build my customised raiders as of yet... Dark Angels army, or a completely redone new Tyranid army...

Or Gorks Stompy Castle of Stompy Deffness...

And then there's the Squiggoth idea sitting on my bench...

Anyways enough dreaming - on to the pics of the Tyrant:

Your tyranid colour scheme is probably the best I've ever seen. I'm sure there's better painters out there, but the contrast, choice of colours and indeed your execution are all perfect IMO. Sweet army!

I've been taking it slow for the past week or so. I'm waiting on some parts to arrive so I can start on the Zeppelin, they'll be on their way from Canada soon (along with paints and bikes and some other bits - battlewagon bits is very cool). In the meantime I've been fooling around with some other projects that have been sitting around waiting for time to come, and a couple of models a friend gave me a while ago I totally forgot I had, AND some necrons I found in a box of bits I bought off the guy who runs our local GW...

I have yet to add some token rivets to the kokpits of the landspeeders and I've also been dusting off the baneblade and making sure it's ready to undercoat. So I haven't been doing nothing but I haven't been doing lots this week

Post by: elfboy

I really like those Land Speeders, I'm presuming that they still need more work and that the paint will help make them look more Ork-like than they currently do. If I ran a Space Marine army (oh wait, I do... but it's entirely non-aerial) then these would certainly be on my Do Want list.

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/03/12 11:37:08

Post by: Lemmingspawn

Lol, they're not meant to be orky... I'll be tidying them up a bit to make them look more Astarte. I wanted them to look either remote or single pilot.

I also have a Rogue Trader landspeeder to clean up and adapt to the army as a special addition. I'm also trying to decide whether I leave the Typhoon/AC version standard or not. It might look too...random... for a Dark Angels army if I don't close it in too.

Something like a tempest, anyway. Like the FW one.

Well - I've been not really busy this week. In between projects and materials arriving and there's a few things that I can't start without having a long stretch of time to get them done, and then there's other things I can't start because when I get home I'm too lazy to undercoat the models. SO! I have myself at a bit of an impasse.

So here are the bits and pieces I've been farting around with over this past week or two - whatever time period it is - I'm losing track...

Argh! Don't anger the Rhino or it will own your... Rhino?

Finally! The valkyrie has arrived from the US and I'm ready to build! This week sees the beginning of something epic. An epic balloon of destroyed valkyrie rebirthness-type stuff...

Here's my pics so far:

The original pilot they tried to keep alive and strapped in but the sucker died...so they just shoved some other cargo in with him...

The repaired wing:

And the current breakdown of parts:

I have a few ideas, like an ork holding both ends of a broken electrical cable connecting the current with his own body - unintentionally of course. What would be sweet is if I could add a big mek strapped down behind him laughing his buttocks off!

I also am thinking of adding some crew carriage platforms on either side of the main compartment exits for fast debarkation.

Here's the progress on the Zeppelin. My only dislike is the balloon could benefit from being a bit longer and a bit flatter in shape, but aside from that I'm pretty happy with it. Being it's a plastic football it's next to impossible to adjust it without it popping and no longer holding its shape, lol.

Anyways - take a look!

Random Blog of bloggy randomness @ 2010/04/17 10:02:25

Post by: Lemmingspawn

Thanks for the props guys

The power weapon on Stern is done with a basecoat of straight silver, then glazed on one end with blue gradually reducing the area of effect until there's mostly blue on the tip. Then at the hilt end is the same effect using glazes of purple.

I still haven't mastered glazing so that it works out as smooth as it could be, but I'm happy with the overall effect - considering I painted the entire GK army using that technique

These are also for the shop here and they give him roughly 1000 pts in a small force to play around with now. Not sure if I'd like to face his force with a small army but it could prove interesting!

Ok, I've been quiet for a while. That's because I've been doing stuff but not speeding through it just stuffing around.

Anyways - I've managed to build 11 bikers and 7 additional tactical marines for my Dark Angels army, and when I had that finished I finally got to do some test models for the army. These are basic troops so let me know what you think about the scheme. I'm not a huge fan of the basic DA colourscheme so I "Lemminged" it.

Have a look and let me know what you think and if there is anything you think I should alter to improve the overall look.

If this was yours originally - I'm sorry I had to do it.

I had to strip off all the rivets and start again I just had to.

Christo sent me this one to work on recently and I'm stripping it back to a bare shell before riveting it again with something a bit smaller. I've also been tweaking some cosmetics.

I have to say though, the panel lines on this thing are BRILLIANT! They're very nicely done and mostly very straight - I wish I could do as well.

Over the next few days I'll still be cleaning it up, puttying up some holes and cleaning some edges up before I get back to riveting this beast.

Oh, yeah. I'm back with something new

Disclaimer: I didn't build this - but I am partially rebuilding it and then painting it. It's quite a good construction, I just need to fill some joins and redo the rivets and a few other cosmetics.

Anyways - here are my updates. I've got a fair bit of work done on the Tbird, the most time consuming of which is the scratchbuilding of the wing mounted lascannons. I love how they look now, I wasn't going to do this but Maerlyn has actually challenged me to do them right and now I'm very glad I didn't say no, they are definitely starting to look the business. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the progress I've had on it Christo

I like smilies too much

PICS!

Rebuilt Cabin:

Progress on the Lascannons:

Mostly done:

Undercarriage upgrades:

General Repairs:

Replacement Cannon:

I'm not totally happy with the way that the cannon has turned out but it is too destructive to do some of the repairs that are necessary. Maerlyn has given me some other ideas of how to do it but I need to think through the logistics - it's may be too overwhelming...

The only real way to do it would be to totally remove the top compartment and redo it but - phew - that's a big job. Lets consider the ideas of other methods...

Very nice work on the lascannons. It's tricky to get the proportions right on them when scratchbuilding 'em. I tried a few years ago for my Thunderbolt scratchbuild prototype and I gave up and just went with spare SM lascannons. Great stuff.

I now see what you mean about the detail on the engines. While it looks decent from a distance, close up, it's kinda ugly.

Yeah but I'll weather the hell out of it and that will make them look better

Ok - So I am much happier with this now that I decided to take the plunge. I just ripped out the original gun and built it closer to the forgeworld design. It's hard to do without a selection of tubing that is that size but I worked it out so it's much prettier now. I've also finished adding the extra details to the lascannons and a few other bits and pieces. I also added some extra panelling to the model but the problem is I talked myself out of using 1mm and settled for 0.75mm instead. I know its only a 1/4 of a mm difference but I wish I'd stuck with my original plans. Anyway - it's still looks nice

Here is the hawk riveted and started on the paint. The past 2 days have been spent mostly with an airbrush and tape...

Because of a lack of forethought the forward twin linked HB assemblies are only on a horizontal swivel, not the vertical as well as I originally had. In the original design the guns were too far forward, so I had to remove them and glue them in place, so at least they move side to side...

Well, they move at least!

Ok, well after this I think I'll just start a new thread for each job I do... this is getting confusing with all this random stuff jammed in here

Here are the final pics for the Thunderhawk. The only things I'll be finishing are the lenses, they need some final work, and glossing the lenses and canopy. And then THAT'S IT! This was a flipping HUGE job that took me a bit longer than I anticipated, but I know that's mostly due to all the delays I experienced in the middle of it.

But now it's DONE!

Now those of you with keen modeling eyes will see the couple of shortcuts and liberties I took with this model, so don't sweat it - it's staying like that!

This is pretty much finished unless I get the command to correct something all I need to do are the couple of final touches but they are so minimal I'm counting these as the finished product - while these were being taken the final coat of matt varnish is drying.

That was a fun one to put together a pain to paint the balloon though...
