This is a followup to last year's poll.
Sorry for requiring the US dollar amount but it is the easiest conversion for most of us. If you are not sure how to do it, just go to google and type in your amount, your currency code and then 'in USD'. So type in something like '100 AUD in USD' to convert 100 AU$ to US$. Other major currency codes are CAD for canadian, GBP for british pounds, EUR for euros, JPY for yen, RMB for chinese renminbi, ZAR for south african rand.

Bought a lot, by my standards, this year but that's still just shy of 1000USD. Some SW, a good amount of Sisters, recently (Christmas) a pile of CSM, WoC earlier in the year, more paints, and rounded out my Codex collection (only missing DE now) as well as my Army Book collection. I'll leave out the money I spend on BL stuff.

As for me, somewhere in the 1000USD-2500USD range... got all the flames of war books, most of a british army, a load more vallejo paints, a good airbrush and compressor, a european village worth of 15mm terrain and lots of other odds and ends.

I think I hit the 2500-5000 mark:
Two daemon armies, 6 ultraforge daemons, three FW daemon lords, and a bunch of other FW daemony stuff, a few hundred in resin bases alone... yeah, that sounds like the right category.

About $150 ish? Maybe towards $200. Major lumps being a box of metal wyches and a box of plastic demonettes, with honourable mentions to a incubi master. And bits for conversions.
The box of plastic nobz for a friend's christmas present was a decent chunk too. (I'm a poor student, I have lots of conversions and spent at least an hour per troop model, closer to two. Annoys even me at times, but does wonders for keeping costs down.)

I picked up the hobby again this year in March.
And between aboud $4000 and $5000 later..
I find myself with full armies of:
Eldar
Orks
Crimson Fists
Ultramarines
Imperial Guard
and Dwarves
Couple that with every color of Citadel paint and the cans of primer I've gone through for models and all the terrain I can get my hands on including the Realms of Battle Board..
I've got more than I ever dreamed of when I first started the Hobby as a 14 year old.
I expect 2010 to be MUCH cheaper in terms of getting up to speed in the hobby.
Maybe I can find time to actually PLAY more this upcoming year.

I probably spent around $2000 or so. Mainly do to the fact that I started a WoC army and decided to arm them with a FW Chaos dragon and more recently (Still waiting for it to arrive actually) a FW War Mammoth... Also got quite a few superheavies when the stompas came out (I think that was 2009 rite?) so most of my money spent was in rather large items...

I just started 40k at either the very end of 2008 or very beginning of 2009. I splurged a good 2k on buying around 3000-4000 points of SM, scenery, paints, etc. I recently also decided to start necrons, so a lot of money has gone to things which will attribute to their snow theme. I hope to have them finished soon with pictures

Im not sure ...
I mostly started out in my SM army in the end of 2008 and till summer 2009 , and i probably spend a lot of money on that . I dont have the patience to calculate it all , but here it is :
- Space Marine Battleforce
- AoBR
- Space marine Captain
- Bikes x3
- Thunderfirecanon
- Loads of paints , probably tripled my collection
- Same with the brushes
- Got myself three new display cabins
- Remade our apartments storage room to be a painting station , that involved a new desk and some new posters .
So yeah .. I think its about $500-ish ...

From what I remember, I paid half for an Imperial Sector set (brother paid other half), and got a FW Pre-Heresy Land Raider, Combat Squad, Command Squad, Attack Bike, SM Battleforce, 'Nid Battleforce and pre-ordered the 'Nid Codex. Also ordered some BA Honour Guard, Death Company and a Chaplain with Jump Pack.

Hi
My budget records show that I spent $5667.17 gaming last year (and here I thought that tracking it would help me spend less). That does not include tournament entry fees, meals or hotel costs associated with any events. However, it does include $800 in Forgeworld that I have used for prize support for events I run. So I would say that $5600 is pretty accurate overall for spending on "me".
Key items that I spend my money on:
1 Reaver Titan
1 Warboss Biker & 6 Nob Bikers from Forgeworld
$1000 building a table for Games Day Toronto
Anything Skorne that was released in the last year
A Searforge Commission Warmachine Army
Small additions to any of my dozen Fantasy/40K Armies.
All new army books and codexes for WFB and 40K.
Cheers,
Carlos the Craven

I voted $500 to 1,000, though it's probably more. Bought a new Tyranid army, but it's my first all-new army in long time, and it was bought at 25-30% off. Cleaned out some old Skaven, and bought some Undead zombie boxes. Oh, and five boxes of Black Reach, at the "standard" 20% discount.
I bought a two-year WD sub last year, so I'm good, and the only other major hobby purchase is a ton of Robogear on clearance.
Last year was mostly a ton of Reaper figs, this year is Robogear, with some clearance Starship Troopers mixed in.
Amazing how I'll buy the clearance stuff first, then GW. About the only thing I've been happy paying retail prices for is some RT plastic beakies on ebay.

My game allowance that I give myself is $40 a month. Usually this is spent on paints and the odd box of models, but sometimes I add a couple of months together and get something big.
I've just spent my December, January, February and most of March on Warmachine Elves, and I'll probably spend April as well when the MK2 rulebook comes out. Oh well, guess I won't get any new IG until the summer.

Originally I thought - not allot, but then I remembered this lot:
Mega Paint set
All things Dark Heresy & WHFRP 2nd Edition
Rogue Trader Collectors Edition x3 [don't ask!]
Some FW Epic Baneblades [when I heard they were being stopped]
Spulk
IG Codex
A couple of white dwarfs
Planetstrike + Planetary Empires + Mighty Empires
Talisman
So between $600 and $700 I reckon. Not a great deal of Wargaming stuff but enough to prep a big push in 2010.
Now where to get an Airbrush and some biggerised Spess Mareenz?
