But if necrons became a all metal army then ill be loaded on them. After all necrons are made of metal correct?

Plastic Elysians would rock my world. Other than that, theres no pure/largely metal army that i would be more inclined to collect were it plastic, though I hope the Tau get their few metal kits redone in plastic. But they'd still need a 5th edition codex for me to end up buying an army of them.

I would find a Dark Eldar army hard to resist if it was all plastic, provided they dealt with the issues that dog the current designs. They will have to think up something cleverer than just adding blades and spikes to everything.
I'd be very tempted by a plastic Sisters army, but I'd want to see the same level of fine detail they've put into the new Blood Angels plastics. And more dynamic poses than the curent metal Sisters. I suspect it will be a long time before we see plastic Sisters though, as they have never been big sellers. And I think one of the main reasons they aren't more popular is that few people (including me) can paint female faces well, but I digress.

Well judging by this forum the reason SoB arn't more popular is because they arn't in plastic, closely followed by deamonhunters, then deamons, then varrying IG regiments.
Really could have guessed as these are the armies you need alot of models for and metal is expensive.

Nothing I don't already have.
GK in plastic would just mean more people with less ability will glue the wrong bits together with no sense of rhyme or reason. Just like a lot of SM players under the age of 12.

Hmm... this is actually a very difficult question, as I already own several very large armies, covering most of the army archetypes. About the only army I don't already own for 40k is a Xenos horde, and I'm OK with Nids, but they're already mostly available in plastic, so if I haven't bought them, I probably won't.
Of the various non-plastic armies I already own for 40k (metal Eldar, metal IG, metal Inq. Storms, metal Sisters of Battle), the only one I'd consider expanding would probably be Sister, but that isn't really collecting a new army.
If GW were to do a good job making an authentic Cathayan (Chinese) army for Warhammer, one that didn't mismash other Asian elements, and something that wasn't based on blatantly racist stereotypes, I'd definitely jump in. To date, I doubt GW would do a good job here, so I'd rather wait until after GW tackles Ind (India) due to the large number of subcontinental Indians in Britian available to advise GW how to represent non-European forces in a non-racist fashion.

Right, but plastics are considerably easier to assemble, paint, offer more modelling opportunities, and are cheaper as well.

You sound like your a really well off person to have so many armies, sadly not everyone is so fortunate. Though your idea about a Chinese army is interesting, have you been thinking about this for a while?

I think I do OK money-wise, tho I have had the advantage of playing since 2E, so I did my buying and trading of armies over several years. As wargaming armies are strictly accumulative (every model you buy increases your army), if you keep buying, armies eventually get very large over time.
I'd like to play a Chinese army, but have gotten very sick of the stereotyping that pops up by GW. I don't like it when GW does it because it's just lazy and disrespectful. Hopefully, GW gets past this in the future.

I would break down and start my first IG army if I could do it with DKoK plastics. As much as I love the Elysian vehicles FW has come out with, I don't care much for the troops themselves.
Oh, and the exception to the Space Marines would be Legion of the Damned. I'd be all over those if only they were plastic.

Mechanicus... they would be like imperial orks, pretty much any bit mash would go if you designed it right. It would also diverge from the other available armies out there because of the variability each and every model could display.
I would also say Genestealer Cult, but I got tired of waiting and started sculpting my own (and commisioned a few more besides lol) so I'm good on that front!
