A ruined armoury. Can also serve as an objective. A large Prometheum Storage Tank made from one of those caramel popcorn tins that everyone seems to get for Christmas. And a picture of all my other City terrain, which I'll -hopefully- get around to basing at some point The big Atmospheric Processor in the bottom corner is made from some of that white-pellet rubbish that was packed in with a lamp I bought. The pipes on the sides are wire shields and there are a few tank hatches on some of the flat surfaces.

Two of the Aquilla bits broke off the front roof of my cathedral as you can see - I've have yet to find them / put them back on!
Here are the three pieces that make up the cathedral.
I'm waiting for the new Terrain set from GW to add the broken window to this set - and of course, one day I'll get around to actually basing / painting it.

I got a couple more I'm still working on I'll post later, gotta find my camera. Doing a floating island, think more from WoW (Nagrand) than from avatar. And a cave opening for my friend Chad's 'Nids. And we did some 2x2 cuts of basic hills for our table I'll find my camera and post em tomorrow.
A hill I'm working on. Still haven't touched it in a while can't figure out I wanna do the road leading up to the top. Dirt or paved or a mix.
Next one is a the first hill(well not so much hill as cliff) my friend Chad and myself made and we like it a lot.
And a $2 cardboard house we found at a hobby shop that Chad turned into bad ass while were watching the Superbowl. Sitting on my plateau or whatever you wanna call it.
14573
Post by: metallifan
Haha! Imperial Laser Pointer! I have that too. Love the little crosshairs. I always end up making "Pew Pew" noises when I use it
For your road dilemma, try this: Put up guard rails or barriers on the sides, and then paint it to look like a dirt/gravel road. Next, cut some sandpaper to size and shape, spray it black, and then you can just swap the road between dirt or asphault at a whim by placing down the sandpaper. The guard rails/barricades should keep it from moving around/falling off too much.

Some posts below, a selection of my Eldar terrain. Missing, due to no pictures: Eldar pimp-loft with 3 levels and water running from the top to the bottom collecting in a small pond, ken-ken-barbie-ken.... I used some cheap ass barbie for 3€ to do the statue lying in the woods, but also did something bigger, LOS-blocking: 3 Ken-esque dolls supporting a Barbie reaching out for the stars---- or something like that.
edit: As you can see, the warpgate doesn't quite fit with the rest of that stuff, though that has been corrected in the meantime

FoxPhoenix135 wrote:Wow brother bartius, that looks fantastic when you paint it. Nice rust and weathering effects! How did you achieve that dripping rust look? Is it just a wash? The drips are all just washes. GW sepia and devlan mud. The rust on the pipes is just plain stippled fiery orange? I've learned from this and will give it a stipple of brown first for the subsequent buildings. I'm in the middle of painting a trio of war walkers at the moment, which I'll post up in the painting forum when done, after which I'm intending on getting back to the other buildings. Although, just like every body else I've got a few projects to consider. Nice fortress of redemption. I like the alternative colour scheme. I think it really suits the structure. The grey is a nice contrast to the red. Really otherwordly. Isn't that a word? You've just reminded me. I've still got to build the FOR I got for Christmas. **Let me see that projects list again** Argggh!

I got 4 mdf boards and glued on some old books just to add height, then poured plasta of paris over everything and then rendered it with an old dish washing scourer.
Then dry brush the lot.
It's my first attempt at this and I must say I'm realy happy with how it looks, given how simple the process was (and the fact I had no idea what it would look like).

The Stargate table.
Industrial/refinery table. This is 80% of my Hexagon and Platformer terrain kits. 2 pieces sat this tourney out needing some repairs.
Edge of the industrial zone table (with container park) and the 3 Pegasus Gothic sets.

It did get a black wash last year.
I need to go over it again and hit it with some rust patches as well.
Given that it was all inaccessible for the better part of a year (small house so it was stored at the in-laws - who are an hour's drive away) afterwards.
I don't work quickly unless there's a need. As I won't be at BiV next year (or ever again, while it is held in May) there's no real big rush.

They are little wooden hope / jewelry chests you can pick up at your local craft store. (Micheals, AC Moore, etc..)
Sand bags are just "Super Sculpty" clay, rolled out, squashed down, cut in to chicklet sided sandbags, then baked to harden them up.
Little more detail on the process can be seen from the Mordian link in my sig below.

Pandaman,
my piece is 2 feet by 2 feet. In the first photo, you can barely make out a Kasrkin sergeant on the top floor. I used GW walls in addition to foamboard because I wanted to stretch how much I got for my $$$. The pillars are wedding cake pillars that you can get at craft stores like Michael's or AC Moore. The base was wood which was a big mistake; it warped in my basement so now I use that dark brown stuff... forget what it is called.

All that Tau stuff was actually built by Jeff Vaughn, including the manta, for our adepticon display two years ago using wood and foam. I'll see if I can post some more later but have been very busy yesterday and today. Night y'all!

This is my small cathedral. Still WIP, painting has not yet started. I am designing the templates (yes, this is built after self-made simple templates in an easy but time consuming manner) a new version of it, however, much bigger, more complex, and full of detail, with flooring, detalied columns, more intrincated ornaments...

Model built (bad light, however):
