Plastic kits we want to see before the end of the year... @ 2010/04/10 14:00:32

Post by: Superscope

Alrighty... since this year is flying faster than 48" valk scout+first turn move. Lets all have a nice "wish list" of plastics we would kill for.... I would go for the following:

- Plastic Furioso Dread, with blood talons, death company dread and libarian furioso parts.
- Full plastic Broadsides and plastic pathfinders, that would pretty much setup tau for life (until 5th ed codex comes along )

Anyone got any wishes?

Plastic broadsides are a must. Lots of the other models mentioned have metal models that aren't that bad, broadsides are the worst hybrid I hav ever had to put together, they have weight at all the wrong places.

I'd love a warboss kit that has options similar to how the SM captian works. I mean, the nobz already have an incredibly versatile kit (although it only has 3 klaws for some reason...), there's no reason they can't do a similar one for the warboss.

Nah, I'd say their less detail, also a pain to put together and paint. Then theres the extra cost of metal compared to plastic. Metal = Fail. :/

i would have to agree with you on the inconvenience of them. i own both metal and plastic and as far as dreadnoughts go i like the metal ones beater.

Seconded! I've built 3 tau broadsides..... not fun trying to get the guns to point straight (Even then most often or not the metal railguns have bended a bit)

Tim the Biovore wrote:As for GW making Titans, no, that is a FW job.

Agreed.. don't put people out of a job there... however if FW switched itself to making it's kits out of plastic.......

anyhow... OT - Plastic Marine Vets, seriously... The vanguard vet box is messed up.

Plastic Grey knights(and a codex too )

Warhounds.

Plastic Broadsides just make sense.

I can imagine the GW designers designing the Broadsides.

Dude1: how we gunna make this thing?

Dude2: lets just make an upgrade pack for the plastic Suits.

Dude1: cool, i get the plastic molds ready.

Dude2: no man, its gotta be metal.

Dude1: why?

Dude2: cause we can jack the price up and it makes the model incredibly topheavy.

Dude1: so they will be putting them together and it will keep falling over and then it might break and then they will have to...

Dude2: buy more models

Both: Duuuude.

Stompas have always had skirts...go back and look at old GW artwork and designs and you'll see what I mean.

As a daemons player, I'd love to see those long-promised plastic Seekers of Slaanesh. Most of the other daemon models are at least available in metal form, but the seekers are OOP and really expensive on eBay.

Mordian Iron Guard.

Kasrkins.

I'll keep it to 3...

Storm Raven - already shaping up to be the 'drop pod' of 5th edition, GW is clearly leaving money on the table by not releasing one but I fear they might wait till 6th so they can add it to the SM codex.

Imperial Citizens - my old standby, I've been asking for them since the Empire militia came out, 10 years now. Several bodies and arms for making civilians, gangers, cultists, IG, characters, etc. Throw in tons of cyborg arms, shot guns, pistols, pointy sticks and other improvised weapons.

Space Marine Historical Armor - not my biggest wish but one that would make GW the most money.

Oh and make all existing sprues available through mail order, y'know like they used to be.

Kid_Kyoto wrote:Oh and make all existing sprues available through mail order, y'know like they used to be.

I loved that too, but think of it having to have a bin for every sprue, all the space that would take and the cost to operate that space it would just drive up the cost of the hobby.

as for the origonal topic

Stormraven, Tervigon/tyranofex (there similar enough to be a single kit), Storm troopers with veteran parts, ogryns (cost of metal is prohibitive), Sanguinary priests, Chaplains/Librarians similar to the captain set, termie captain/librarian/chaplain, BA honor guard, all the missing IG tanks and a rehash of the leman russ, all the metal models, all the hybrids although GW hasnt released any recently.

What I wouldent like to see plastisiced is the titans, Apoc would jsut become a titan battle, IMHO titans dont ahve a place in an Apoc game less than 50,000 points a side, if you could just go to your local GW or FLGS and pick one up for 100$ it would in my opinion ruin Apoc (ive wrecked a few games with mine).

dude, a Warlord titan would be the biggest plastic model ever made in the history of plastic models.

it would never be put up for sale and if it was it would cost at least 5,000 dollars + whatever ungodly sum shipping would be.

if they ever did that, it would be to stand out in front of a Battlebunker somewhere and would take the 'Evy metal team a whole year to assemble and paint. and then there would be the mother of all appoclypse battles taking up the entire floor of the battlebunker and it would take 6 months to set up and they would require a forklift to move the darned thing.

6 feet of plastic is a scary thought.

leave the scratch built warlords to the nutcases

I've always assumed, based on where they are in the codex and fantasy army book, that they're supposed to look like basic troops. Maybe painted differently, but the same models...

I'd love to see some more plastic daemons, of practically any variety. Other mostly-metal armies are mostly metal because it's been a decade since they were updated... daemons are mostly metal for what reason again? Don't get me wrong, I love the way my metal guys look. I'm just not terribly fond of the "thunk" they make when they hit the floor, and bend and disconnect their limbs. Oh, and a non-winged model for any army that I could use for a good-looking non-SM daemon prince would be nice.

* Grey Knights
* Grey Knights Terminators
* Grey Knight Grand Master
* Stormraven

It would also be nice if GW made a Dreadnought accessory pack with the new options.

I'd list a bunch of Tyranid units, but I've already bought and converted anything I need.

Stormtroopers.
Marauder Destroyer.

Xenos terrain. Despite being an Imperial player, I really want to see some variation from the obligatory CoD ruin or Planetstrike Bastion.
