This is just a silly bit of fun but if you could have any weapon in the 40K universe what it be?

I would have twin Wolf Claws (which oooh come with power armour) so I would run around pretending to be Wolverine.

For a gun either 1. A boltgun because it ie awesome or
2. A lasgun because I keep loosing my Maglite.

And either an Inferno pistol (WH kind!) or a Bolter as the shells explode when they hit something and are .75 caliber! With a scope of course.

It was called the Inferno pistol in 2nd ed and the 3rd ed book. Both times it was 6" range. The PDF was the first time it had a different name and was a meltagun ruleswise because they wanted it different from the generic version they put out in the WH codex.

Assuming no support systems, Lasgun. Largly for the effect of roasting the ammunition packs on an open fire.

Grey Knight Power Armor suit complete with Stormbolter and Nemesis Force Weapon.

Stormbolter for being awesome. NFW already puts me at S6 and gains Power and Force Weapon abilities as I grow stronger.

Armor shrouds me in darkness, protects me against psychic powers, and wards off daemons.

Dark Lance. For lulz.

Though...the Callidus assassin's C'tan blade is pretty rockin'.

Maybe a stealth suit with the strength of terminator armour with built in lasgun and an eldar power sword?

My choice would be a WH Inferno Pistol and a big power axe.

On a more serious note, I think I would prefer either a Shuriken Pistol or a Force Weapon. Because if i had a force weapon, that would mean I was a Psyker!

If it can with the platform then a D-cannon, otherwise I would go with acid maw, then everyone would fear a burp from me ^^

An Inferno Pistol would seem like the obvious choice. High firepower/size ratio - easy to use, for all-round style and effectiveness, hard to beat.

That said, the fencer in my wants a power sword - or better yet, a power field module that I can mount on my own sabre (why have all the extra mass when only the field is needed)?

Since others have not limmited themselves to weapons however - I would choose an Eldar Jetbike over either of those things.

Likely a Plasma Cannon or other weapon with a large power source. I'd then take it immediately turn it over to university or other research group that does work on alternative energy.

I don't have any use for weapons, I figure some good might come of it if I do something like that.

Sword of Secrets. Big ass sword which cut from a single block of jet black obsidian. Never has it chipped or lost its razor sharp edge over the millennia.

An Imperator Titan, fully armed with a plasma annihalator (for infantry & tanks), doomstrike missile launcher (for artillery support) and a volcano cannon (for other titans). If there is anything in the known universe capable of resisting that then I don't know it.

I'm into un-subtle weapons. I want a Reaper autocannon (2nd ed style before it became generic) with the attached suit of tactical dreadnought armor to carry it around

I would have a melta gun, according to Jurgen pretty much every issue can be solved with one, be it hordes of tyranids, chaos space marines, walls, you name it a melta gun has it covered

A Sternguard Bolter for me, all those tasty rounds... and maybe a Bolt Pistol, just for shooting cans

Old style melta gun with chain attachment that Eldar Guardians used to use...1st &2nd edition.

I would have to take and Assault Cannon, Power Fist and some Terminator Armor. It would be too easy to annihilate everything and take anything modern day weapons can throw at you

There seems to be a wave of threadnomancy going on at the minute.. and pretty much every weapon under the Emperor's sun has been mentioned. Even some weapons that aren't exactly real.. or whatever counts as for real in a fictional setting.

If it came down to it, really, I think we'd all just go for the one that we could all actually use: the humble Lasgun. Essentially, it has unlimited ammunition and is incrediably simple to use and maintain. Just make sure the chinese secret police don't get their hands on you..

A monomolecular blade would be useful. The place I live has no central heating and I am constantly chopping up logs to keep up with the fire demands in winter. This would make it alot easier.
