Hey Dakka,

Many moons ago when I started lurking here a fellow frequently took requests and had a nice Photoshop thread going. I am an animation student with free time so I figure I'd take some request. My style is less detailed with less effects, mainly because most of what I draw has to be animated. But I'm willing to draw anything 40k related, or any other topic if you give me some reference to work from.

Can you please draw me a carnifex fighting an ork?

I used my Tyranid colors for this and since the request was from a Nid player, the Carnie wins lol



Could you draw an Ork burna boy? The color scheme of my boyz is deserty looking. So dark brown boots, tan/leathery pants and a lighter tan shirt. So anything along those lines would be cool.

I really enjoyed this one because I was playing with the fire effects.

Sure! I love the Ultras but every now and then they deserve to be put in their place in the most embarrassing ways!

As an FYI for anyone sending or posting requests, I will not be knocking these out like a Gatling gun (because I am in school, nearly graduated so the work load is heavy) but I will get to them all in order, eventually.

@Munch Munch - Yeah, I passed out after the Ogryn picture and I only had one class today so it didn't take long to get back to drawing. I do have to write a three-page paper in MLA format about the book Ceremony by tomorrow though, so I wont be on all day.

Well, the comical way I could draw this is to have that big walker riding the Storm Hawk in a very "rodeo" fashion.

The practical way to do it is to have the Walker upside-down like a spider or bat, under the Storm Hawk, magnetized to in with its legs coiled up. Ready to leap off the skimmer and land right-side up on the battlefield!

I would love to see an Iron Warrior crushing an Imperial fist in one way or another. Your work is amazing (and hilarious) and a funtastic picture would go well with my army

Well that doesn't make any sense, why would you speak for someone like that? I would assume the entire point of his exercise is the challenge. Anybody can draw a simple space marine and a chicken, but to put them in an emotional context with physical interaction is what really makes it funny and challenging.

Im going to throw another request on the pile before it overflows. How about a classic Uncle Sam "I want you!" poster, 40k'd. Dealers choice on the race, tho impguard seems a bit obvious

This is Sister Theresa, a new recruit to the Inquisition. She is stylishly sporting her carapace chestplate and flak jacket (leather suit model), along with her complimentary autogun for maximum "spray-and-pray."

This is my girlfriend's Sororitas for our new Dark Heresy campaign starting this evening. It is the same group as last time +/- some drop-outs and rookies. This time everyone wants to take the game seriously so this should be some good fun!

Two suggestions:

1) I totally love the picture from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I think it would be great to see a Grot as the Rabbit while Space Marines look on in horror at their dead companion. Maybe have one be in the act of throwing a grenade.

2) Have a desert scene with a guardsman, and ork, a necron (or tau), and an eldar, with the following captions:

Guardsman and Ork: Water! Water!
Necro or Tau: Oil! Oil!
Eldar: Room Service! Room Service!

Do you use a tablet, or old fashioned M&K? If you want to take animation seriously and are considering doing it proffessionally, I definetly suggest getting a tablet. It'll allow you to put in much more detail and save a lot of time. I recently got a Wacom Intuos 4 for about $400CDN, and it's already helped me greatly with my first proffessional artwork. I have to say that the tablet alone has probably set me up to be a year or two ahead of my classmates.

I can manage anything. As a heads-up to you guys, I enjoy drawing 40k stuff the most so I prefer request in that direction so that I can both; enjoy what I am drawing, and draw the best for the people viewing. But this isn't "40k Photoshop Time" so I'm up for whatever.

I love your request though, and that's definitely brewing in my head already.

Well, the comical way I could draw this is to have that big walker riding the Storm Hawk in a very "rodeo" fashion.

The practical way to do it is to have the Walker upside-down like a spider or bat, under the Storm Hawk, magnetized to in with its legs coiled up. Ready to leap off the skimmer and land right-side up on the battlefield!

I enjoy doing it in my spare time, and most pictures do not take long at all. The latest picture took an hour, during my ZBrush class, and that's only because I was wrestling with how to pull off a rainy, nighttime look.

And I guess if you consider casually drawing a couple dozen pictures over the course of a month "no life", then go outside and don't view the thread.

Great work, I love it all!!!!! and of course I has a request: A Commissar pointing a bolt-pistol at his own head while yelling "I sentence you to summary execution for incompetence!" while having an annoyed look on his face, and two guardsmen in the back laughing, and one holding a "rulebook" while pointing to it. ~ of course all providing you have the time, and it's not to much.

I replace mine with shadowbrand's like i said so it gets done quicker as my original idea wasn't brilliant.

I do not know if any of you guys are big Dark Heresy fans, but we just started a new campaign in my group. The first game we ran, I was new to DMing and the players were new to DH. It was a hilarious disaster.

This time, the players are learned and the new rookies are picking up on things fast as well. For their efforts I have decided to reward them with some tangible playing material, like "Wanted" posters, dossiers for their missions or targets, etcetera.

This is an example of the first package they received and I plan to be more open in the future as the Inquisitor begins to trust his new recruits. Right now, all the team knows to do is; 1) guard the damn box, 2) don't open the damn box, 3) shoot those guys that just tried to steal the box.



If you're not a DH fan, then ignore this and we will return to our regularly schedule programming shortly.

I would totally love to do a DH campaign. Though I just don't like how the character creation is in the rulebook (IIRC it's random?). Also that's pretty awesome of you to make those extra things. I wish I was in your campaign, haha.

It doesn't have to be random generation. I allow my players to roll their nine Characteristics then assign the results to the stats they prefer. Unless they prefer to pick their quirk or supersitition, I roll that and I roll for their Divination.

For gear, I let them sell starting gear at face value then with that money, plus their starting Thrones, buy whatever gear they prefer. This usually amounts to a better gun, or some added armor.

would love to see a Kroxigor (or other lizardman of some sort) either a) picking their teeth with a clan rat spear, or b) a Kroxigor smashing into a clan rat swarm and crushing his way free in a valent push against the little rodents. more than likely over done, but hey got to be in it to win it .

Yeah that seems like a sound way to do it... that way they aren't starting with something that doesn't suit their character. I've really got to con my friends into getting a group together for it.

Sounds like the Rogue Trader 'campaign' I was in. We got in a fight in the first five minutes on planet, and managed to completely destroy the campaign, kill the recurring villain by accident and flee the planet with the arbites on our heels in the first hour of the session. Tau firewarrior successfully beheading a genestealer in close combat whilst looking away and flailing his pulse rifle in the other hand at the rather surprised genestealer. Ideally, the firewarrior appears to be cringing/covering their eyes as they do this.

How about Arihman using a hoover (vacuum cleaner) to clean up dust that has fallen out of a collapsed Thousand Sons Rubric Marine? The marine would be on the floor with its helmet fallen off, and a lot of dust poured out. Arihman should look as disgruntled as possible.

My most memorable moment in 40k is still when a single gun drone managed to take off the last 2 wounds of a Carnifex. Granted the fex had better targets to go after so it didn't target the gun drone but it was still awesome. Can you draw something for that?

How about a panorama pic consisting of a variety of Orky food/drink stalls, including various greenskin patrons. (A grill serving IG body parts, a squig beer bar and a snooty Bad Moons coffee/hooka bar.

That afro Ork wins so hard. Somebody totally needs to make a conversion of that.

Hey guys,

Sorry for not replying, we've been wrestling with a bug problem over here due to my roommates' stupid facking cats spreading all kinds of trouble (..in the name of Papa Nurgle I suspect..) and school is resuming shortly.

To make things more enjoyable for me I have decided I will be drawing out of order now, picking exactly what requests I feel like drawing and then "presto-requesto" Insta-Art, by Smashotron.

Plenty of requests are Grade-A gold and I certainly will attend to them artistically. Some others just will not get drawn (by me at least) any time soon.

Also I typed something polite about not wanting to do Twilight/40k fanart but then it hit me; I have nothing but disdain for Twilight and how the image of vampires has really changed. So basically, Twilight/40k fanart is not "Heresy" & "Hilarity"; its damned DOUBLE HERESY and you all should be ashamed.

I am ashamed for you all.

Sorry to heap yet more on your plate, but in light of the approaching Westboro Baptist 'Church' picket at Comicon (They say God Hates Nerds for Idolising superheroes and worshiping them, so they're going to go and watch them while holding signs.) I was wondering if you could do an edited version of the 'where is your god now?!' pic (the 40k one) and draw one where you have a Comic Protester holding a sign saying 'God Hates Nerds' and throwing holy water onto a cosplayer while shouting 'Where is your Batman now?'
