If you could be anything in the whole 40k universe, what would it be and why?????

i would be a Grey Knight Terminator because they are better than terminators and they have the coolest looking poses.

I would be an ork big mek, that way i would make lots of teef, and be a leader at the same time!

I would prefer to be a Tau Shas'O or an Ork Weird/Mek boy. Realistically, I would fit as a tau of the Por or Fio castes. Possibly a Shas (as a Pathfinder)

How do you know they're better, do you have any knowledge of their fluff? There are lot's of models with cardboard fluff and good minis representing them. Marneus Calgar, Sicarius, Vulkan He'Stan, Kayvaan Shrike, Tigurius, Korsarro Khan, etc, etc, etc.

No, the fluff pretty much says that they're better trained, better equipped, have better genetic engineering (supposedly even the Emperor's own gene seed), and are overall just plain better.

Meh, Grey Knights are also even more brainwashed than regular Marines. I assume the OP implied that you would still maintain some amount of your personality.

I would want to be a stock Imperial Guardsman.

Why: Because I want a weapon that is multipurposed. I can use my Lasgun light up dark rooms so I don't stub my toes trying to get to the light without having to worry about putting holes in the walls.

Also, I think it would be oddly "heroic" to be a guardsman. They're the most humanlike race in 40k and they're fighting all of these weird aliens who are better than them.

I've changed my mind. I don't think I'll be lucky enough to die in an Exterminatus. Failing that I think an air caste Tau would be appropriate (they're the pilots). Running loads of cargo back and forth between the Tau homeworld and it's colonies in orbit sounds like about the best job one could hope for in 40k.

First off I don't want to be anyone just because he is a badass... Marine heroes, necron gods, and so on and so on... too much responsibility. I don't want to be one of the unwashed masses of cannon fodder so that rules out tau, eldar guardians, guardsmen, tyranids...

All I can think of, is to be a Harlequin of the laughing god Cegorach, just dancing away in the webway in a ridiculous outfit and poking fun at chaos, whilst staying impossible to be messed with unless we actually want to get involved at the time, place, and situation of our own choosing.

I would be on of the "High Lord's of Terra" because I figure they have a pretty sweet job.

I wouldn't want to be Slaanesh, because it'd be lame to just be some nebulous entity floating in the warp. Being a Greater Daemon (or better yet, a Daemon Prince) would be so much more entertaining. You could have a corporeal form in the Eye and a planet that you could shape to your imagination. You could possess humans to cause all sorts of mischief on various planets. Hell, as a DP, you could stroll out and go an vacation to an Imperial planet of choice.

Despite the exaggerations about Imperial attitudes towards technology, the level of sophistication and life on many Imperial planets is quite high (if you're well-to-do, anyway), and it would be very fun to explore it.
