Hi, Dakkites!

I've had a few requests to start a plog for my Blood of Mork orks, so I guess that's what I'm doing!
They are a klan that, obviously, worships primarily Mork.
I'm currently working on a unit of converted AoBR Nobz, which I hope I'll get to posting about soon (pics or it didn't happen, am I right?).

Ah, finally an update!

Okay, so I've converted all of my Nobz now, But I only have finished shots of two (Not entirely finished actually, they're all glued together now, here they're blu-tacked).
The other two are a normal choppa/slugga nob and a WAAAGH! banner nob.
I'm waiting for some bitz to get delivered currently, to make them a bit more 'Ornate'.

Well, after recieving some bits from ModelBits.co.uk, I went to work with a knife and some glue.
Here's the results (sorry about the rushed images, my photo-shooting spot is occupied):

The Banna Nob (his banna was painted seperately, no pics yet):

I was thinking of adding some wires and worky gubbinz to the chain-axe, but I think it fits in well with this boy, that I converted a while ago:





I added a Gun/Knife pack to my 'Reepa Boy's' back, to resolve any "Double CCW" disputes.

FENCE!







Electric fence, to be precise. The posts are made from ice cream sticks, the wire is....well, wire, the sign is a nail and some thin plastic and the power box is part of a nobz' slugga. It's based on some kind of foam and reinforced with my ghetto-style plasticard (plastic dinner plates. I can't find ANYWHERE in Aus that sells the real stuff.).

Aight, so here's some progress on tha nobz.

Banna Nob iz Finished!













The Auto-Adjust feature went to town with the skin colours, so bear in mind it is high-lighted a bit more than in the pics.
Also, I didn't manage to get an in-focus shot of it, but the left pauldron (shoulder pad) is roughly/haphazardly painted with iyanden darksun (yellow). My nobz will all have yellow on one or two objects on their person, painted in this same style.

That's the auto adjust again. They've got a few layers of Devlan Messiah on them, so they're fairly browny-yellowy-white, as opposed to pearly.

My thoughts exactly, although my static grass experience is most certainly not a pleasant one. Any other ideas?

My big brutha used to use coffee grounds i think. That's a pretty easy one, and then you just drybrush the tops a bit. Sand is also nice because it's light colored to start with so it makes the comparatively darker model stand out all good.

The base does have sand on it, it's just horribly fine textured. My old sand which came in the starter pack was much coarser, I miss it :(

Possibly then add some more dots or lumps of (I assume) of PVa and re-dip it in the sand, give to some lumps or something Good stuff!

I love the barrel...It made me smile soo much!!! Good Job

I like the objective marker and fence a lot.

The paint job on that nob is nice, but a little too clean for an ork, I think. Good choices of color, too.

Sorry everyone, the Nobz are going away for the time being. I've assembled and started painting my Battlewagon, and am planning a centre-piece/diorama for my army. I currently have Wargaming ADD, and will be jumping and bouncing from project to project accordingly.

I'm hoping to get Dave and Bite-a primed today, and I'll probably have them finished by tommorow. I also plan to scuplt another one or two, maybe as bomb squigs. I was wondering if anyone had a size comparison pic of a squig next to a boy or a grot, as Dave is roughly up to a boy's shoulders.

If your still looking for plasticard in Aus there is an Aus ebay store where you can get some it's called Back to base-ix and it also sells bitz and as the name suggests some nice resin bases.

Arakasi - I think it's a disguized killa kan. You press the button on top and legs and arms unfold from those panels on the body, and the lcockpit extends revealing a grot wearing a lion mask.

I'm not sure how much Ork fluff you've read, but a reason for their skin colour could be that they adapted to camouflage on their home planet, or that their spores mixed with that of native plants, prorducing red-skinned orks. I try not to draw attention to the fact that I actually haven't scientifically explained my ork's skin colour (I've only explained their view on it).

Seriously, I love what you did to the buggy. You didn't mess up the basic shape yet you created a totally different (and much cooler vehicle. I'm guessing the hill is impassable since no mini could ever stand up on that thing?

Thanks for the words, I was brainstorming the buggy foor a few months, but most of it was spontaneous ingenuity Yeah, the hill count's as impassable and was mainly made to break L.O.S. There's a fence that goes with it (Page 1 or 2) that counts as dangerous.

@A. Kasi: Thanks! I've been working on getting more realistic (yet interesting) posing, to make my army less uniform. You really want to see the big mek? It's been done and redone so many times that it's sitting at a rough torso shape on a piece of copper wire. Pics?

Alright, so today I pick up my warboss (while I'm at home sick) and give him a thinking over for about half an hour. While starting to piece together some parts, I notice the rough torso-shaped blob of greenstuff on a piece of wire sticking out of my table that was to be my glorious Big Mek.

I pick it up.

And I realise the Big Mek inside. I had started off focusing on the idea of a testosterone-pumped jock with an oversized wrench, but in my burst of inspiration, I've started building some deranged cross between a mad scientist and a nightmare machine.

So, I started building parts for him, my brain working in overtime to fashion a monster of gears, flesh and sharp objects, something you'd imagine crawling through the shadows in the battlefield, creeping down into trenches, jaw-pincers clacking, and out again with a set of newly-claimed skulls hanging from his blood-stained metal claws.
He will be your worst nightmare.
Just tiny.
And made of plastic and greenstuff.
