3 Kids and not one Wargamer!!

yay!!! my poll! 2 kids, one thats three and likes to "paint" the other one (15 months) just tries to put everything in his mouth.

I have two,My Daughter,who is 10 and definatly NOT into wargamming,anime and drawing is her thing,as well as worrying about what she intends to wear alot.

And my Son,who is 8,who enjoys looking at Daddys models,and asking 100 questions about "Daddys Game", but is much more interested in his Tae Kwon Do classes and watching T.V....but,He has on occasion talked about getting some "soldiers" of his own...Space Marines (sigh)

I dont think a 14 year old should have kids yet :p

sigh... in a 70+% male college, in a 90% male major...

ladies at my school are like parking spots. Either taken, or handicapped.

hopefully my situation will improve when I graduate and get a real job.

Kids? My girlfriend and I aren't yet in a stable enough position to justify getting a cat. Granted, our "recreational activities" aren't very likely to accidentally result in a kitten, so we're waiting until things are a bit more stable to get pets and suing the out of the contraceptive company if we have kids before then.

The one step son, has a small chaos army and plays very rarely, but we lack a LFGS so he only has me to play

Two step sons. who play orks , SM and chaos but who also want Nids and other monsters in their armies.

I let em, Its fun to see Sm allied with 'fexes!

I have 2, soon t be 3. The oldest is 7, and she is currently learning to play MTG. She would watch me play at my old FLGS, so I'll probably get her interested at some point. My Son is turning 2 next month, but he already loves playing with "daddy's people". Wife is pregnant with another girl, due next month. So I'll do my best to get her into it.

Currently stuck in Korea, so I'm not in a position to influence too much right now. 3 months down, 9 to go. Hopefully my next duty station will have a FLGS as good as my old one (Gamer's Hideout in St Robert MO. GREAT place!)

I have two SoB one is 2 and the other is 5. My wife and myself play 40k and as of late my oldest has started to get into watching us play and helping my wife play her Daemons, but always wants daddy and his Nids to win. We have been thinking in a few years we would like to take her to a kids summer camp held at our local store that teaches her to paint and play the game and so on and so forth.

Got 4 and 5 year old boys.
It is a mad, mad, house.
They put together models and paint, umm, well, let's say they are at a "good coverage" stage of painting.
Lots of sports are going on now (hockey, soccer, biking), we don't want to go all geek right away.

Area I live in has that "redneck/small town" element, I think if we set up a "gaming camp" (which is a REALLY cool idea) we would have the torches and pitchforks out with chanting of "kill the cult" or something of that nature. We are beginning to get development as a "sleeper community" so there is still hope.

I too think I want a daughter but I have a different reason to wonder how to get one (how hard is it to produce an X chromosome anyway??).
A girl gamer could do well, would have to advise to really avoid the poor hygiene types to narrow choice.

Good observation: learn how to expand your modeling skills to make unique/cool jewelry and give a few to choice people. You would not believe how quickly your label goes from nerd to artsy type (plus get good dates!).

No kids, and Lord willing, it stays that way. The only way I would want to have a child is if I had one with a random chickie. I don't want to raise a child, but my progeny in the world would be a useful thing for the gene pool.

Nah, no conversion work, this one will be "box standard". I was thinking that a pic of the GF´s belly might be considered WIP in this case.

None for me yet. 19, no degree, no job/career... will not have a kiddo till I can make sure she/he will eat everyday. That and lack of wife means I'd have to procreate by myself.

My wife is about a month and a quarter along now. We hope it's a daughter (medical stuff) and yes I will attempt to get her into this great hobby of ours.

My first is now 23, and got me into 40k.
The other two are into make up, and clothes
And the youngest stops every game dead, when she walks into the GW shop.

I got 2 step kids 10 yr old boy and a drama queen 12 yr old going on 21, the boy likes my Chaos and has just started buying his own army which is starting to look pretty good in black and gold...wife thinks I am just a big kid and plays way to much.

I mean technically I'm old enough (20) but I don't like the idea of trying to raise a kid while seeking an engineering degree! Really scares the hell out of me just thinking about it.

That and the current economy for me too.

Our son will be 3 in October. He's in the destructive phase at the moment, so playing Warhammer is probably not a good idea for a couple more years.

Strange how the too young/ none that i know of are equal.

A 21 year old boy, college senior.

A 19 year old girl, college sophomore.

Between my partner and I we have 6 kids ranging in age from 18 to 2 years. The 14, 11 and 9 year olds have a general interest in my 'little plastic men' and i've have small skrimish type games of NetEpic with them which they seemed to enjoy, but they have yet to discover the opposite sex (thank god!) and i'm sure the interest they show is only out of good manners ;o)

Two boys, coming up on 7 and 5, both have shown an interest, and have played Star Wars Miniatures with me, the eldest has played two games of 40K and loves it.

He's getting a fully painted 1000pt Necron army for Christmas this year, as he 's always going about Undead and robots.

Oldest is 21 and she's into it but doesn't play. Next oldest is 18 and then 16, both of those play 40K, Malifaux, Necromunda and Space Hulk (and pretty much anything else we get our hands on).

My little girl is 1 year old she seems to like the ork warboss out of black reach.....maybe there s hope for her yet

No kids. I have recruited my nephews and nieces so I don't need to make any little gamers anytime soon.

I have an 18 month old.

He desperately wants to play with daddy's toys and throws a tantrum when I take them away from him when he sneaks up to the table and snatches them off.

So, in response, I designated 15 minutes after dinner each time to be "play with daddy's Black Reach Terminators time."

He sits in his high chair and slides them around on the table, sometimes crashing them into each other, while going "Pew pew! Bow bow! (insert strange explosion sounding noise)"

The Forgeworld Battlesuits though, those are off limits....

And by God, those are the ones he really wants....

Two girls, 13 and 11...Had to convince the older one that it was a type of barbie fashion model game, but with guns and explosions. She plays Dark Eldar.

the 11 Year old just loves anything that explodes, imaginary or not (daddy's little girl) ....just the idea of explosions and death and doom and exploding deathly doom are enough for her. She plays anything that she can get her hands on and makes other things explode

I have an 8 year old that is painting SM and Orks. We have a blast playing intense story driven games. I have a 6 year old that reads books for 4th graders. The 8 year old and I have tried to get him to play, but he just loves his books. I should be so lucky. I hope they both play and read, am I asking too much?

I have twin boys coming in January!!! Though it will definitely be a while down the road I eagerly await the day they ask to play/paint with the game Daddy does.

My daughter finally caught on that a bunch of the star wars stuff i have are toys.. and now she wants to do nothing else but play with them lol, it makes me smile on the inside when she goes "Daddy, will you play Star Wars with me???"

I have already decided that from the time I do eventually get a wife and we procreate, the kid will be influenced by Warhammer40k.
The bedtime stories will be the stories of the universe of 40k.
I will probably change my mind and let the kid decide when (s)he is old enough.(only other choice I can think of)

I have one son (24) & two daughters (10 & 10months). My son has never been interested in TT gaming but is seriouly into on line gaming. My 10 daughter on the other hand loves it to the point I have to avoid GW when we go shopping 'dad can I have more paints' 'dad I need more elves' so on & so on, I wouldn't have it any other way . Our youngest likes to poo her nappies, dribble & vomit at will, bit like me.

You're missing an important option...something that would entail not being too young to have kids, but having no interest in having them.

How many of us are happily married, have no kids, and neither spouse has any interest in them?

I have 2 daughters. my oldest is almost 6, and she has actually played Battletech with us as well as helped me build terrain and even painted a genestealer. (tee hee)

She will no doubt get into it as she gets older. she is a huge sci fi girl. makes me proud.

This is my girls and I about 6 months ago. Seraphim (oldest) and Amelia (youngest, now 1)

I didn't lose mine till I was 20. Maybe I was still 19. I have four kids now. Oldest is a wargamer, though he like D&D better.

Only the 1 for me! He's 18 months and already in to his own version of wargames! I'll get him in to our version when he's about 10 or so.

Neither of my kids are remotely interested in 40k, my younger step daughter (20) used to take the mick endlessly over me and her uncle spending days over an apocalypse game.
And then, we offered her a team. Knowing absolutely nothing about stats, she picked a team because she liked the look of it: 12 terminators and 8 dreads. And slaughtered both her uncle's eldar force, my guard and someone else's tau.

None that I know of... told myself if I haven't started a family by 35, I won't bother... the numbers don't add up for me... Never married... engaged once (russian ballerina.. long story). Since I relocated to a hillbilly sheep-rapist community, the pickings are slim to none and don't get me started on the religious zealots here either. Sooo thats my two bits

He wasn't really pushed into it by other people. After years of having no romantic life in a society where it's pretty much a prerequisite for teens to be sexually active, he just went nuts and took out the knife.

I'm sorry to bring that up on a happy thread about children, it just bugs me when people think that if they don't have sex by 17 then there's something wrong with them, because I've seen, (first hand I might add, I actually saw him do it) that attitude get out of hand and end in violence.

Kids are way to expensive. Me and the wife enjoy our income, that we can spend all to ourselves.
