i've been collectin' random dark-age minis for about 5 years now, and i can't say enough about some of the cool sculpts...
startin' off with brom's design work is a wellspring of great ideas...it's one of those lines where, once you've started collectin' a few, ya want 'em all...
nice work as always migsula...

We had another game today - It was a blast with some real Chaos flavor and a nasty new personality! Hammer has promised a full report and pictorial monday or tuesday.
We will post more of our stories here too. (we always write little stories in between the games)

Yes, full Hammer treatment, but much less jokes and more dramatic this time - it was quite nasty!

For some reason the face of the Daemonhost kind of reminds me of something from Resident Evil/Final Fantasy or you know...those games that kind of have this manga kind of Japanese vibe going on, kind if Ergo Proxy.
Love that Arbitrator by the way! I'm going to find a way to scratchbuilt that close combat weapon of hers for my Mezzan. I didn't notice that she, the Interrogator and the Gunnery Chief all have the same camo pants on!

Eva Kosutic is by far my fave, such great pose, detail and OTT weaponry. There's just something about Eva I really love them all, and I think to use a brown primer was a really great idea as it has lent a very coherent and pleasing look for the whole.
The pics, and mostly the extremely harsh lighting doesn't really do justice to them at all.

I had to up the light levels drastically or the pics would have ended up as dark as the previous ones. At least now you can make out some details.

Do you know how to increase exposure on your camera?? It's really easy and since you have a tripod, you should really do it if there's not enough light. I'l show you next time.

Post by: Col Hammer
I didn't take any WIPs but one per fig ( www.pbase.com/colhammer -> go to Inquisitor section).
Arbitrator parts: Head is plastic daemonette head, torso is from Mordheim Sister of Sigmar, Legs are from Sniper (Eversor?) Assassin. Arms are from plastic Cadian. The force rod is three parts: Hilt is plastic cadian chainsword arm, rod is from plastic cadian missile launcher missile and the head came from ( IIRC) Storm Hammer. The bolter I don't recall right now what I used for it... Plastic parts though. And lots of green stuff on top of everything, of course.
The Gunnery Chief is just a plastic Cadian re-posed and lots of green stuff added, rifle is built from many plastic bits and has green stuff covering.

Hi, I'm totally new to this board and have been looking for a few days now for a good bridge between Inquisitor and 40k. Kill Team was good, but I really wanted the campaign feel of Mordheim or Necromunda. A couple friends of mine and I have been using the Kill Team rules to run =I= warbands against one another. It was fun, but could soon get stale when there is so little room for growth.
Well, then I stumbled onto this thread. I'm totally blown away by the work done here!
migsula, the stuff you're putting up there is the kinda thing I'm looking for. Incredible.
I guess my question is...and I have been scanning the pages of this thread for a little while now - but I'm blind sometimes...what kind of rules have you guys been using for your games to allow you to incorporate Inquisitors and stuff into your games? I saw the World in Arms rules, which seemed nice, is this what you are using. If not, what modifications have you done to the Necromunda gang system?
Sorry for all the questions.
(By the way, I love the Alpha Legion marine. It's cool to see things havn't gotten to where entire tactical squads are running around. Kinda LatD. Cool.)

The basic rules change is that we're not incorporating inquisitors into the gangs. The inquisitors are the leaders, and the retinues are the various gang members. In my variant, there are three leader types to choose from: Inquisitors, Rogue Traders, and Tech Magi. Each leader type has specific rules that apply to their retinues/warbands.

Post by: THartl
Oh, OK, that seems to make a lot of sense. The idea of doing it in that way never even occured to me. It would seem a Rogue Trader would offer up a lot of possibilities.
So, does that mean that the original Necromunda stat lines for gangers and such are being retained and new weapons, abilities, powers and equipment are being instituted? Or are any new stat lines being generated for the different types of individuals in a retinue aside from Juves, Heavies, and Gangers? What of Daemonhosts and their particular ilk?
Is there a standard resource that exists out there that you guys are working off of? Is there a link? I've got the Necromunda rules. Truth is, I've never played it, but have played Mordheim. It seems that this particular project has really tweaked my interest in givin' it a well invested shot. Man, do I ever want to start converting! It's been over a year since I last did anything with green stuff.
Thanks so much for the reply,
-Travis (Super Interested)

In my variant (still being developed), if your leader is an inquisitor, you have to choose whether he is puritan or radical. Puritans can select from one list, radicals another.
Daemonhosts and servitors: They don't fit into the classification of Ganger (Agent), Heavy (Specialist) or Juve (Sage), so we are developing a new category for them.
9394
Post by: Malika2
Kind of off topic, but what classification does the Servitor have in a Pit Slave gang? Just take that classification for those sorts of units (Servitors, Daemonhosts, etc).

Man your guys stuff is so awesome. Really makes me wanna play =I= And I gotta say that this thread has been my main inspiration for the weapons I am creating. I decided I was bored with what little choice I had for the more common guns so I started taking my spares and creating my own. I am hoping to come up with enough cool weapons to make my own mold, and make an entire army with my own guns.

Malika2, the brainstorming thread was great.
So, in the case of a daemonhost, as seen in this awesome battle report, it would be treated as a 'hired gun' with exclusive hiring rights to a Radical =I= gang? Is that how such elements will be handled that exist outside the standard gang construction? Sorry, I have yet to get a hold of the Pit Slave gang list.
I do apologize for going slightly off topic from the thread. It's just so exciting to see what is going on here.

I think you guys might be a bit too focused on making neat lists. Our group really ignores a lot of restrictions when it suits our purpose. I mean, I asked Migs if I could have a Daemonhost and he said ok, if you build it, I'll come up stats for it, no prob.
And I don't see why servitors can't be regular gang members. Don't get too hung up on titles (i.e. servitor is not an "agent", looks like I can't use it...). I have two servitors in my gang (well, one now, because Sating got her brains blown out in the last game...), one is Heavy and one is ganger. No extra rules neccessary.
But I guess you people approach this from the rules perspective and then build figs fitting the rules. Our group has the figs as the driving force. Build something that looks cool and then come up with rules for it. I guess that works because our players do not compete against each other but the games are story driven. We ditched all the lands and money after few first games too. I guess they were getting in the way of the story?
I guess it would be different if you plan to play with the full Necromunda rules (land, money, the whole shebang). Then you need to be a bit more concerned with the balance.
So it's a matter of perspective after all.

Post by: Malika2
I agree with you that these games should primarily be focussed on a narrative and also modelling (I think that is probably the number one aspect of =I=munda), however, some people are still more interested in some sort of structure in their game in which they model their forces after what's best in the "armylist" or according to the rules. I think the =I=munda discussion in the other part of this forum is exactly for that. The reason why people wonder where to place these special units and equipment also comes from the whole idea of "game balance" which in itself can be ok. However, you could also have the Game Master have more influence in the matter.
I do think that if there were such a thing as an "=I=munda rulebook" that there need to be a few pages for the GM's.

Post by: Col Hammer
I think it just feels a bit restricting to have all these different types of lists that say that if you are this type =I=, you cannot have troop X and must have troop Y and so on...
My Inquisitor was leaning a bit towards radical at the start of the campaing, but all options were still open for him. It was the choises I made for him in game that actually turned him radical though and not because I picked out a radical army list. I decided to go against the orders of the Inquisitor in charge of the situation and that brought me whole deal of grief as another Inquisitor was dispatched after me. I still could have sorted the situation out, but it was again my desicion to create the daemonhost ant that act finally drove me over the line. There is no coming back now.
So my Inquisitor is radical because of the choises he made and not because of an army list I picked at the start.
Also, I have a wide variety of servants in my disposal: Adeptus Mechanicus tech priest (dead now), two servitors (one dead, one brain addled...), Arbitrator, Imperial navy trooper (dead), Interrogator, Ecclesiarch priest.
With open list you can add all sorts of followers to your group. I guess I would feel restricted with more closed list (Would I be add that Tech Priest to Inquisitor band? )
But of course there are the other side of the coin: With detailed lists, all these characters could be even more interesting. All my guys are really just gangers and heavies and juves when it comes to stats (apart from my Inquisitor and daemonhost, who have more invidual stats)
It would be great if they would have some simple special rules to differiate them more from each other. Tech priest might be able to repair himself and so on...
I just bought a lot of useless wargear to rep the differences (filter plugs and IR goggles for the Tech Priest for example).
9394
Post by: Malika2
Well, this is where a GM would then step in. You would have the list, but you still want some other goodies and such. Discuss it with the GM and see if (s)he approves. You then kind of have the best of both worlds here.
The "rules" and "lists" would thus only be a guideline, not doctrine that should be followed to the death.
224
Post by: migsula
Yeah, not surprisingly, I agree 110% with Hammer.
We wanted a system where our imagination is the starting point and the rules and scenarios cater for that and drive the whole thing. Generally it surprises me to see how hung up people are on rules and legalities, even if GW is also always telling you to do your thing with the hobby.

But this is also a possibility in our system! Like I've said from the start - all wishes are taken into consideration and it just takes a pts cost Gurk for example has a Haemonculi and a combatdrugged feline beast, both custom characters with custom rules and wargear.

Getting to the finale of the Jade Vessel campaign, which should be something special and hopefully come with a Hammer special treatment report
As you know, it's far from the end for =I=munda, as there are campaigns popping up everywhere and gorgeous gangs in abundance on this forum now. We have our second campaign planned for 09, beginning in February I think. The Legion will be my gang for that, but the Sahddes offe Greye will get reinforcements for a loooong time I am sure. In fact, I have a conversion mind that is waiting for the new Ork Plastics.

Well finally I had this done, took forever again. Thou had some actual troubles painting it. First when I primed it, the paint didn't dry properly untill after two days of waiting. Then first test on the dark part of the hull came way too blueish, so had to re-paint it all. But in the end, I am quite happy.
For the pilot I added a gas maks to hide the "yawning" mouth.
Had it on the table mostly finished for nearly a month but didn't find the time/motivation untill last friday evening to finish it. Plus now everything is ready for the grande finale.
Let me know what you think
3468
Post by: Xanthos
Excellent stuff Northen, really like what you“ve done with the muted grey colour choice.
I“m imagining that you“ve purposefully stayed away from marking it in any way since it“s purpose is to be stealthy and such.
If I was to say one thing about it, it would be that the engines and the areas around them could be dirtied up a bit.
It“s a little thing, but I think it would work wonders for the realism, which is such a great thing about your other models.
Also, I had to go back and have another look at the gas mask, excellent work there, looks shiny!
372
Post by: grey_death
One hell of a job.
I agree with Xan that a bit of blackening could be in order for the paint behind those engines. Maybe even some bluing of the exhaust areas.
Love all of the other weathering you've done on it, and the color of course, pleases me ^_^.
9394
Post by: Malika2
Hmm, something is a bit off about the metal parts, they look painted (because they are, duh! ) but what I mean to say is that while the rest of the ship looks as if those parts are those actual materials the metal components look as if they were painted metal.
I know I'm being vague here, sorry! :(
I thought you were going to include a female or mohawked pilot instead of a normal one?
224
Post by: migsula
Really nice work Jussi! Thanks for sharing!
If anything to improve - I think the weathering is too evenly added, the edges and the front edges in particular should take the most flack and have more. I would also like to see more blackened areas, those are really sweet.

Ha, I was just asking when I'd get to see this in Migs's legion thread and here it is!
Looks great mate, love the muted grey's and off white. The weathering around the engine intakes looks great too. No perspex canopy?
I think the metals look fine as is to be honest. Did you do anything with the interior?

Here's the intro to our finale, still fixing dates.
The Endgame
The day Ardia fell, the sky bled. All of Ragoos was ravaged by freak storms and that macabre crimson down pour. If possible the revolt, turned war, turned hell, spinned further out of control. Sector Fleet cut all legit access in or out from the doomed planet and the Black Ships arrived.
Our desperadoes, so deep in the eye of the storm that there was a dead calm, prepared for glory. They were so far out of their league. Even the fate looked upon them with sad, pitiful gaze. Walking with Giants and Daemons our group of individuals prepared, like some unfeeling miniatures on sector spanning stakes they played on.
Gauer, or rather Lord Frostschein and his destroyed army of savants had unlocked the Grimoire of Placement at a terrific price. On transit to secure it, they had sent several communiques, such security protocols that it burned seven separate cogitators trying to unravel them without authority. There was huge power now behind the young Inquisitor.
Styg, Viktor Styg, the unflinching scalpel of the Criminaliatet, would be close in on their heels, with his remaining spies working through hell with the promise of a flight out. No-one could escape their shadowing. The Syndicate needed new allies, new equiment, something to end a hawkās eye view over the others. Something more. Something ambitious. Who might be the untapped powers to be?
Harker - oh he knew so much - he knew, because she knew and it was nearly too much. His new allies seemingly at ease with the sickening, deep evil of her... who could tolerate the daemon, where Harkerās own men were at the edge, at ends? The Daemon was so very dangerous, so hard to judge her intent, but she had devoured the information from the prisoners and she knew the songs of her realm. She burnt with the agony of control, the pentagrammic wards burning her skin like a frozen needle would cry oneās spinal chord. Would her diabolical power be enough suppressed so?
Rogue Trader Krikham had perished, too weak for the hell that was Berdia? None knew, but he had disappeared, dead or to his travels.
These three factions and many others prepared, they prayed, they pleaded or commanded what was theirs to try and they were on the move. Liber Rubas, the Great Librarium of Guntash the V, or so it had been eight thousand years ago, now just a catacomb of death, ripped open from the depths, like a maimed rib cage of some colossal continent fish. Had someone had the time to look into it, it wouldāve seemed like it was the fault of the violent collapse of the Eastern Spire - infact, the Spire collapsed, because something in the heart of that catacomb so decided. Not a drop of crimson landed on these chilly, frost caked structures. This was the fatal wound of planet stabbed to death.
What do you do?
Who do you turn to?
Who else might be there?
What special plans can save you?
What stands for victory in your hear, or the ever present glare of your masters?
May the Emperor Protect you!

Thanks people.
Xan, Grey and Migs: You guys are right, working on those additional weatherings.
Malika2: No stress Changing the whole pilot would require major work as he's sculpted on to the seat. And I like the fig, thou he's somewhat emotionless face needed something, so I added the gas mask.
CMDante: I am adding the perspex later as I have temporarly misplaced it. And didn't do any interiors for two reasons. First the back hatch is almost impossible to open after assembly (atleast in my copy). Second the seam goes straigth in the middle of the ship and requires filling, and to do that for the interior after assembly is again pretty much impossible (unless you have thin and long fingers ).
Cheers!

On the contrary. Add it to your signature, make a post on the "Find a game"-forums here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/forums/show/13.page
If you ever go to Sweden, let me know and we will have a game. And welcome to Dakka

@Mellon:Thanks for the advice have taken it on board (see my sig) and am hoping to get some sort of response!
To keep the thread on target when Migs can we expect some more great Fluff, battle reports and conversions from the Jade Vessel campaign?! Also ruleswise do you think you could share what you're using for the costings of psyker powers i.e how much each one costs after you've paid the 20pts to be a pysker?
Eagerly in Anticipation!

We've sort of set on the date now, which will be 23-24th of May. Everyone and everything will be involved and it's just going to get plain crazy and OTT. A fitting finale to all the fun we had. I'm sure there's going to be another =I=munda campaign afterwards. Or possibly a combination campaign of =I=munda, 40k and Apoc!!

Here's some WIP pics of the models:
Western style witch hunter turned into a the leaders right hand man and a empire wizard converted to a technomancer
A mercenary gunslinger and psyker on the works
Please tell me where is that awesome plasma pistol taken from ? I thought its conversion but it seems to be one metal piece.
Where did you get that ?

That plasma pistol comes with that model as standard. The model is the limited edition WH that was released about the same time as the WH codex. Inquisitor Gideon Lorr, IIRC.

IIRC, it comes with the Inquisitor retinue boxed set, it isn't one metal piece as he may also be equipped with a flamer, If I'm right Edit: Meh, Pipped to the post, it seems. Also, I wasn't right...

It indeed comes as a standard part of the model. And the model is limited edition, first you could only get it from GW onlinestore when the WH codex came out. After about 6 months they released it for stores as limited edition also (I got two of these guys then). Now days best chance to get these would propably be eBay.

Just re-read this thread, still fantastic as evver.
I'm not sure if somepne's said this or similar but with regards to the whole lists thing - I would say don't even have restrictions as such. If each player is taking on the 'role' of an inquisitor (or other character) then that character is loosly based on themselves - go with your own feelings of what's right and wrong. Some may be strict, some may use people, some may not care at all - it just doesn't matter as long as it is enjoyable and fits in withthe over-all plot.
I think that's why I like it anyway. It's a great opportunity to express yourselves and kill some baddies (that is....those who you THINK are the baddies!)

Some great Email stories flying about already. We may have to publish some of those later too.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
The situation prior to finale:
Viktor Styg / Jussi: 15 pts
Gauer / Pete: 13 pts
Harker / Marko 13 pts
Krikham / Gurk 6 pts (m.i.a.)
Total of 25 campaign pts to fight for in the final round, though as always, some of those may go to NPC factions, or not be achieved at all.
Plus of course the winner and holder of the Vessel.

JV Finale / Part One / Dramatis Factions
"The most dangerous minds sense itās growing presence, the omens and the leads, and like vultures they arrive from all corners of the sector and beyond to find it, to destroy it, to claim it, to decide the faith of Berdia, the Planet and the entire sub-sector! Rogue Traders, Facilitators, Star Striders, Magoi, and the agents of the Inquisition will battle out the outcome in a secret war of importance beyond the understanding of man."
(images @1300x800 resolution for your viewing pleasure! - sorry for the long text lines, but images count, eh?)
The Syndicate
āFaciliatorā Styg, Viktor
Syndicate Agent (unknown family ties, suspected consigliere level master)
Inner Circle sanctioned Investigation team leader, Blunt, Class Alpha Arbites target (137 counts), known to employ psykers and mercenaries.
Not all decision on Ragoos are made by planetary officials (some say that very few actually).
Syndicate makes a major player in this planets political field, some doubt that they can even affect the whole sector if they want to. Syndicate has it's hands on everything, trade, politics, PDF, faith, cults and of course on the Ragoos precious nutrition farms. The organization can offer anything man desires, money, power, goods or something you can't find anywhere else. The syndicate can also enforce their will on important people if they want to either by bribe or extorcion, they can have anyone they need to do their bidding. Syndicate works on the hives every level, noble houses fight for their cause in political arenas, where syndicates agents whisper their aims from the shadows for their public representatives. Lower levels the hive gangs Ā sold stims, drugs and other illegal items supplied by the syndicate. Also some the hives guilds are on syndicates pay roll, working as their factories to produce goods for the trade. Syndicate is lead by group of powerful men called the inner circle.
One of the agents who works for the syndicate is Viktor Styg. He's known as facilitator, a consigliere and a captain and by many other names. Viktors job is to make things happen as the syndicates pleases. Be it to collect dirt on noble mans nightly hobbies or to negotiate a deal with a hive gang to distripute syndicates stims. Viktor has the subtle skills to talk to a noble and the threatning aura to make street mugger respect him.
The recent events on Ragoos has made the inner circle a bit interested about situation as the unrestliness at the lower levels is disturping the drug sales. Angry mobs are turning to vigilantism and executing drug dealers, the noble houses power struggle has tightened and lots of recourses have to be put into maintaining status quo. Factories have been put under juristiction of PDF to produce equipment for them. Cults are ignoring syndicates orders and perfoming wild rituals to enforce the chaos and mayhem. Viktors current employer Orgho Wharts has asked Viktor to look into the matter. Orgho is obnoxious character, fat pig of a man answering only to the inner circle and sneaking his way into to the circle itself. Viktor would gladly get rid of the bastard and maybe even take his place in the syndicates hierarchy. It was mostly thanks to Viktor that Orgho had made it that far.
Orgho hasn't given Viktor the access to the usual recources. He says that whole thing will be over in few weeks and doesen't realy matter the syndicate that much, which puzzels Viktor. He has gathered intell of his own, and he knows that something big is about to happen, and that it's not safe to venture into the lower levels without proper equipment at the given time. Has Orgho realised Viktors desire to dispose of him, is Orgho sending him to die in some random gunfight in the lower levels or atleast to fail in given task thus stripping him of his rank and removing the immideat threath opposed by him.
Luckily for Viktor he's intel has shown that there is something down there that's making all this fuzz, something big and he means to have it and use it to get rid of Orgho.
Now Viktor has spent few weeks in the lower sections gathering clues with his team. He's predictions have come true. There is indeed something down here. The cults have gone mad about it, the big gangs are also after it, he has even seen signs that the ordos might be involved. Fortunate for him he was able to pull some strings in order to gather up his team.
Vargo Biel has been long time with Viktor. Allways following him from his shadow, never saying much. He's Viktors right hand man, he can make his dirty work happen. Vargo was his enforcer, usefull on in negotiations to to frighteng and to assasinate to opposite side if the negotiations went wrong.
Celena was unsanctioned psyker raised by the syndicate. Viktor hasn't worked with her before, but he has met some of her kind at his line of work. She was clad in weird white bodyglove covered in hexagrammic wards. On her head she wore white scarf that blindfolded her, but still somehow she was abel to see. She kept to herself most of the time reading a book she carried everywhere it's pages inscibed with series of arcane text that made Viktor feel unwell if he stared them for too long. She would come in handy if it was true that the ordos were involved.
Karl Glean was Viktors recent foundings. Karl was heavily build man who knew his job well, it wasn't usual to find his kind of brute who could keep his head sober as Karl did. To Viktor's knowledge Karl didn't use any illegal stuff which was the problem with he's kind of guys usually. Karl spent his cash on brothels, not just anyone but on the ones that let you do anything, Viktor didn't want to know what Karl did there. But Viktor was yet to find anyother than Karl who had that good aim with autocannon.
Vys was low life thief who had been on the run because of his gambling debts. Viktor trakced him down and saw the potential in his skills with security and cocigators. So Viktor paid Vys's debts, and now Vys worked for him.
Han Riker was mercenary whom Viktor had hired for the assigment. Han was ex-guard by the looks Viktor thoughed, worn camoflouge suit and rattling carpace armour. He's choice of arms was boltgun which was no guard issue. Thou bit worn, he's equipment was expensive which gave out that he was good at his work.
Jamal was hired from gang that worked for the syndicate. He was a basic grunt from the streets, but he knew his way around in the lower levels, which made him valuable to Viktor.
Few days ago Viktor got his hands into classified a pic-record with help of Vys, now he started to see the pieces moving.
Harker
Inquisitor Harker, Calliber Johann
Ordo Xenos, Ordos (Unknown), Suspected Radical (x)
Psyker, Martial minded, employs brute force.
A solitaire figure stood in a ruined doorway, gazing into the murky gloom. His eyes roamed over the harsh landscape of the city ruins as his mind sank deeper into the darkness of his core, searching for the strength to carry on for just a day longer.
Emperor, hast thou forsaken me?
Calliber Johann Harker, Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus, considered this question over and over while seeking to assert his faith in the God Emperor of the mankind. But the familiar calm of the Emperors presence seemed to elude his best efforts to find it.
Have I crossed over already? Am I now that which I abhor?
There was no need to turn around to sense the presence of the unholy thing close by. The daemon host stood silent behind him, waiting⦠always waiting. It had been unusually calm for the past days. The seemingly constant tuck of the connection between the man and the daemon was gone. The daemon host had felt subdued and quiet after it had ripped the knowledge from the mind of the cultist priest, revealing the place where the Jade Vessel was to be found. Perhaps it knew that the Inquisitor was now closing on the heart of the mystery and it wanted to get there as eagerly as the Inquisitor did?
Still, Harker was grateful for the brief respite from the daemons constant testing of the bond. He knew it wouldnāt last long.
The rest of the retinue stood farther back in the room, wary of the daemon host. It felt like a miracle that they had stayed with the Inquisitor so long, despite the corrupting presence of the unholy thing that the Inquisitor had invited into the world. It was the proof of their unwavering loyalty to the Inquisitor.
Eduard Navarro, the interrogator and right hand of the Inquisitor had sworn to follow him to the very pit of hell if that was where the Inquisitor would be going. And looking at the desolate landscape before him, perhaps that was not too far-fetched an image after all.
May the Emperor bless you, my friend.
Eva Kosutic, the arbitrator, had stood with the Inquisitor almost as long as Navarro had. She was fiercely loyal and could almost fool the Inquisitor into thinking that she feared nothing the future might throw before the small retinue. But Harker could sense the mounting terror inside the woman. The presence of the Host gnawed constantly at the minds of the people around it and only the strongest willed could stand it this long.
Courage.
Nicodemus Quarth, the priest of the ecclesiarch, already showed the strain of his rapidly fraying faith as he fought the doubts bubbling in his mind. Was he still doing the Emperors work? Or was the abomination of the Daemon hosts construction been a mortifying mistake after all? The priests struggle to keep his faith was mirrored in Harkers own battle against his doubts.
Strength, brother.
Velvet, the last remaining combat servitor, seemed to be content standing in the presence of the Host. How Harker envied the simple mind of the servitor and her utter faith in her master. There was no doubt in her eyes, no regrets, just simple, patient obedience.
Chastity Kross, the hard bitten bounty hunter that Harker had hired to guide him through the underworld of the great hive, stood even further back from the Host. She did not like the situation at all, but Harker could admire her moral fiber. She had taken his coin and now she would stay with him all the way to the end. She was a woman of her word.
What more could ask of you?
Harker turned back towards the doorway and contemplated the situation again. He was so close now; he could almost feel it in his hands.
The Jade Vessel.

Suspected Private Army of mutants ā re. āChildren of Contemptā
As the day before, and those before it, a deep, mustard hued mist hung around the endless rusty hacks of the east end. A huge bulky twist galloped towards the epicenter of this excuse of a Hive Sector. After him came two others, inhumanely thin, twisted even for twists sort of twists. And a Twist with a long pointy hat and no left arm. Then a group of four, or rather three carrying something that looked like a fourth.
Fething feth - where are they all going? He knew of course, but why? Gevlan cursed his deformed back that ached after the long stalk, and then slipped into the night, moving with stealth and swiftness totally unexpected of his appearance.
The old Theatrum was a huge, rotting carcass of armaplas and steel gridwork, punctured by a massive support structure of the hive above. There was something organic about the place, something that reminded Gevlan of Magidor Gamma, and the Endoskel Forests. What a campaign that had been.
He could see the dribble of twists feed the mammoth building through the gateways that appeared well guarded. He didnāt need them of course, he knew all the ways in and out, like he did everywhere within day march of the old barracks that he still considered his home, post... home.
Inside the sense of scale was disorienting. Particularly when surveyed from the western audit balcorium, full 70 yards higher than the floor beneath. The place was packed with twist. Gevlan made a passing snorting sound, that made for laughter, a place packed full of twists always made for twisted viewing. He started walking down the memory lane again, the Hubberian Twist wars ... a quick hush in the crowd brought him back to present with a pause a lone, skeletal figure appeared on stage, moving with other worldly grace, almost like gliding over the aged tiles. He was glad in gleaming black metallic armor and a long dark grey cape of nothingness hung from his gaunt shoulder guards to form a stark contrast to his pallid white, skull of a face. Teal pipes and tubes fluttered where his chin and ears should have been. Gevlan decided the skull face was the most twisted of the twists, even if he wasnāt really a twist.
A tiny twist with a head three times too big appeared behind the shadowy cape, seemingly adamant to gain certain distance from mr. Master Twist . Then Skullface spoke. Or Gevlan heard him speak, for there was no way to tell if his mouth was moving. Or if he had a mouth. It occurred to him he shouldnāt hear him anyway from the distance.
He was a master orator, as the total silence of the twist audience underlined. Gevlan could feel his heart beating as the message started to sink in. His beardy mouth started to form a smile, but that smile died on his lips and his heart missed a beat. A cold metal ring was pressed dead centre against his spine - dozens of simultaneous thoughts jarred his brain - a Thor, or Mars Pattern assault shotgun, or possibly a compact boltgun; how did someone, something, ambush the scout chief like this? who had a piece like that in the twist lands?... After what felt like all of his utterly dull last week, with his nightmares imposed on, he could feel the pressure lighten, then detach. Gevlan turned slowly, keeping his lascarbin pointed on the floor. The twist looked bad. Tall with sinewy muscularity, grey skin with pointy metal dispensers poking out and a crudely painted white face - Gevlan couldnāt tell in the loom, but it looked like the feth had stiched his mouth shut with something thick and caked in crimson. And the Thrice Damned Feth wore yellow rain boots. This was death incarnate. In yellow boots. Sick Feth.
A Second figure peeked from the door of the shadowy balcorium, she was a goddes - and announced matter of factly that the boss wants a word. Gevlanhad a pretty good idea who that Boss might be. He slowly made for the door, somewhat comforted by the presence of the young lady and the fact they let him keep all of his weapons. Passing the door he dared a quick glance at the lady again, but to his horror this side of her face was a lump of burned scar tissue, and a sickly yellow lidless eye that emitted light and made the scar tissue glow horridly in a mustard hue.

They needed to find him and find him they did. Didnāt feel that way now, did it. It was fething cold, the humidity of the earlier thunder rains was whisked around by the brisk sea wind flowing through the forgotten docklands. The full moon cast a pale, icy glare that froze the shadows of the stand off.
There he was, in rugged civilian clothes, armed with a brace of pistols, Sgt. Jargassor, whom all needed to find - the least of their concerns now.
The entire hunt team had their retinas transfixed on the massive being next to him. A dozen weapons of different make pointed at him for what little difference it made. Standing two and a half meters, a god of war, clad in a huge suit of armor the color of night, the giant stared back, immoveable like a statue, yet radiating explosiveness like an unstable flux core reactor.
The wind turned only to punctuate the stalemate.

I was going to say, great to see Jakob's mini's there and it sounds like a cool little bit of background you have worked in to explain them.
Shame he couldn't make it over to participate too.
I guess the report is still to come?

I hope to run a Planetary invasion campaign to Rhisienne eventually, with =i=munda, 40k and Apoc games all tied together, with possible BFG too.
With the lessons learned from this though, it may be a different set up and more mutually committed as one half of our games group has the focus span of a rat and a cucumber respectively and the second half can be overbearing and overly active

Hell no Automatically Appended Next Post: I think there where a lot of lessons learned and we really had a wonderful time and I think the campaign created some of the best GW hobby miniatures of all time, in how not only was the modeling creative and dedicated, but the characters really came alive and some were second incarnations of valiant or emergent heros.
I'd like to thank and Congratulate Northern for winning the campaign and generally being in a class of his own in how he treated everyone with utmost respect in his team effort, keeping to every schedule and participating in all the expected ways. Hammer once again created great models, wrote a few really nice stories and provided us with a few absolutely awesome reports - many thanks mate! My little brother Pete was a great addition to the early parts of the campaign and a serious contender before missing the summer action due to a Tennis tournament abroad. Gurkmannen sadly left the scene after game two and pretty much failed every single team deadline before that, but we hope to have him for the next campaign in better circumstances
Northern took and shopped some great overview images from the report that I strongly recommend you guys checking out. Our battlereporter had problems integrating them to his report, but check them our for a nother angle at the action.

Credit to you all, this has been a lot of fun to watch develop. The big end scrum was extra groovy (nice work Hammer), with so many gangs, old and new, going head to head. Speaking of gangs, I just made sure to save all those gang shots, loads of inspiration in there. In particular Hammer's 2 servitorettes - those have gotten me thinking all morning about things to do with this box of plastic 'nettes I've had sitting on my work desk for 6 months

Brilliant finale!
Amazed the heavy bolter took down the Valkyrie!? hahah.. bad day for all on board.
Not to mention the amount of .."It ends here arch-rival- SMACK! The antagonist goes down... seemed trying to settle any old scores was punished with hardcore karma.
Superb campaign with such a richly photographed report, ..shame about Alpharius, was hoping to see some serious Astartes a--kicking from him. No doubt this will ensure =I=Munda will be around for some time to come.
Time to browse those images you posted there Migs..

Post by: migsula
It was actually an autocannon that took down the Valkyrie - ACs are SICK in =I=munda S8, sustained dice and also inflict d6 wounds!
As for the Daemon Host, it is important to tell everyone that an unbound Daemon Host (Malleus Majoris) has a stat line of pure 10s and a 4+ inv save!!! You know, the kinda being that took down a titan in Eisenhorn, so as bad as as our marines are (stat line of almost only 5s) nothing much, but specific kit and pariahs can stand against an unbound host. But then without bounding, there was also zero control for hammer other than to kill kill kill

I just recently found this thread and I have been reading it intently. I registered here just to say that this thread is full of some very inspirational conversions and painting and although I don't claim to know anything about =I= munda as it were, I think your whole gaming group has come up with some very atmospheric conversions full of creativity. Also I am not one for battle reports, but I found these thoroughly interesting and love all of the little extra details like sound effects and motion lines. Great job to you all and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

And the next instalment has indeed begun as migs is doing his legion and me and hammer are doing some space puppies.

Souped up =I= with power armour, psycannon, inferno pistol and wraith sword (little like a force sword), he also had tons of kit like skull chips and photo contacts etc. Overall he cost half of the entire mutant gang. All of our leaders also had 3 W as default.

Just to add some value to this post, the models are awesome. Particularly like the Kasrkin gang, some really nicely painted fatigues and they look like special forces despite not having an enormous amount of custom work done to the models themselves.

Migsula, wherever I find excellence, I find you... this blog (and those models,) is raising the eyebrows of my friends who used to play Necromunda... and were interested in Inquisitor... and now we're getting guys interested who never played either but are intrigued by what they read here... that vampire-sith-lord-looking guy... just beautiful.
I think we're going to start an I-munda campaign as well... there was talk of starting a site and I'd love to contribute when we get the ball rolling. It's in the baby stages, but this weekend will be concepting my guys as well as looking at suitable models to convert and chop up.
I'm looking forward to more inspiration and action from this... SUBSCRIBED.

It's not flattery. I'd like to think of myself as being pretty creative, but that vampire lord converted into that metallic ass-kicker just about floored everything else I've ever thought of... aha ha ha ha ha ha...
And definitely. I'll be keeping it posted, perhaps link it to the forums here at Dakka. It's in the planning stages, and I've got 3 friends on board with me, and waiting on 3 others to see if they want to start out with the initial campaign.
Still thinking of the "hook" item to start the narrative, something that all of our respective bands covet, and will definitely be willing to shed blood over... oh, and doing the layout for the new blog. I'll post the link as soon as I finish if you ladies and gentlemen would like to check it out. Blog name, page layout, hook item, members, models, photos... mix my grad school up, and I'm going to be needing the other gang leaders to help manage and write for this project. And definitely, a shout out to you and your gang, Migsula for starting us down this dark road!
Thanks again!

I don't think a word with such connotations as 'threadomancy' should apply to work Migsula. Like most of us, his work is what got me back into the hobby after a long hiatus and he also managed to inspire my Necro gaming group to finally listen to me and start playing. Not to mention that he also got me interested in keeping my own blog.
If there's anyone who has earned threadomancy resistance, it's totally Migs.

Not just me, but the whole group. We started something that sprung dozens of new blogs at dakka, a real =I=munda fever. I think a Modeling Hall of Fame of some sort, built on a chronological browser as part of dakkadakka would be great and benefit a lot of people. This blog ought not to wither yet.
New people still come in and see the =I=Munda name and ask questions and send PMs when it's all here
The group made a decision not to post on other forums, Dakka only, as me and Hammer have been frequenting this forum and it's incarnations for ten years! This is how we met.
There's still the option for "=I=Munda.com" though. Maybe if I find a Legoburner like collaborater

Hello,
I don't want to do post necromancy, but inspired by this post and the other original inq28 and =i=munda contributions, I have started my own project. I wanted to get some ideas of your projects and perhaps incorporate some of yours to my own projects. Yet, the pictures are gone. Would it be possible to get them back or at least make a post compiling all the important post (maybe only the ones you posted?). The Jade Vessel is a really great topic for all those starting with inq28 and it would be great to have it back.
Thank you.
