Bad things come in small packages

Besides, he is a head taller than a space marine, and the other models in Zombicide are smaller and actually realistically scaled rather than heroic

Some more Zombicide stuff!

Started painting up one of the trays of zombies! Gone with 3 different skin tones so far; green, blue and purple. If anyone has a fourth colour that would look good for zombie skin, let me know

Anyway; the horde so far:

The green team have had the top coat of sepia added to their "flesh" while the purples and blues have just had their base colours washed on.

Green fatty "Buuuuuurgerrrrrsssssss.....":

It is almost like some kind of dance off is about to take place...

And my abomination from above posts with base colour coded to the threat level:

Good luck with getting through that lot...I'm half-dreading the painting of these, I know it's going to have to be batch painting at some point

How about some sepia washes for the fourth skin tone?
And are you going to vary the skin tones between trays?

SilverMK2's thread o'stuff - Now with KoW! [Updated 23/Nov/15] @ 2012/09/21 19:22:17

Post by: SilverMK2

I was thinking "pure" sepia might be a possible fourth colour, but I was not sure

I have 3 trays of zombies and the above is just one tray :(

I was going to paint up a line of each colour zombie for each tray - to be honest I can't really think of anything more than 3-4 zombie skin colours

The only thing that I will try to vary is the clothing colours and combinations.

The reason I have laid them out like that is so that I can go top to bottom with skin colour, then side to side with clothes colours. By randomising the order of the zombies I should hopefully end up with a nice mix of "like" models with different skin tones and different clothing colours.

I was also planning on painting the bases depending on zombie type - my wife and I have found it kind of difficult to tell what is what when shifting around huge mounds of zombies on the board

Planning on blue for walkers, yellow for runners, orange for fatties and as shown, red for abominations (though I was thinking of repainting his base white then washing and inking red so it looks more like blood ).

Yeah I noticed you'd colour coded the abomination's base, I'm thinking I might do the same with the rims. I've not come up with a plan on how to paint them en-masse yet, just playing with one row for now Using washes for most of them with a bit of paint here and there. You could get some variation to the skin tones by basing in deneb stone and rotting flesh (or whatever they ae now) as well as white.

SilverMK2's thread o'stuff - Now with KoW! [Updated 23/Nov/15] @ 2012/09/21 20:06:00

Post by: SilverMK2

Yeah, I might just paint the rims in the colour coded shades as it is a bit too much of a big blob of colour that it overwhelms everything else

As for the skin tones... I think that might be a bit too subtle for what I was going for - I plan to use reasonably cartoony colours as I feel it fits the kind of flavour of the game and sculpts. Plus it means more painting, which I don't like anyway, and certainly not when I have a million zombies to paint

I will almost certainly go with a plain sepia as my fourth colour, unless you can think of anything else.

But I certainly recommend doing a tray at a time - as I say, being able to have rows made from 4 random model types means you get a lot of colour variation in your base clothing colours without so much repeating; I find it hard to be deliberately random with my colours when just painting things one after another; by blocking things to paint all the same colour it makes it much easier as you only have 8 blocks to vary, rather than doing each model as an individual.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Started blocking in some colours now - you might be able to see my system; 2 rows with the same colour, the first on the bottom half, the second on the top half (where practical) - you can also see how "quick" it is too (well, you would be able to if it did not append my post about an hour or so to finish off the skin and block out one colour on all but 8 of the zombies)

No updates in here for a while, would love to see some more progress pics on your Infinity terrain and Nomad models...what Ive seen so far is really nice. Also, did you finish painting your Zombicide? Sorry if I resurrected an abandoned P&M thread...if there is a newer one can you point me too it?

Thanks for the post

I actually have some time off over Christmas so I might have some time to do some painting!

The only Infinity model I have painted since the last update was finishing off a Zero.

However, I have a lot of WIP's - about 50 Eldar Guardians, 30 true scale Space Marines and I have also started assembling a baneblade I bought abouta year ago (and also started converting it so it can be a stormlord as well).

As to the Zombicide - I have not completed painting everything yet - it did not get much more advanced than the last pictures unfortunately! I may paint them a little more as I will be playing a few games of Zombicide over Christmas.

Finished Nomad Zero:

Quite happy how well this one came out

WIP Intruders:

Brenda de Castro:

Converting him to a female - got to change his face a bit and widen the hips. Will also be sanding down the boobs to a smaller size when they are fully cured as they are a bit big at the moment

The whole group:

Got 3 Intruders, 2 Prowlers, 2 Zeros, 2 Spekters, a Reverend Costodier and Brenda de Castro

If anyone in the Staffordshire area of the UK wants a game, let me know. I would love to actually use these models

Decided to push getting these painted so I can finally sell them off as an army.

The zero came out great! I love the basing. You've got a nice little Nomads crew going on there now. I have yet to get paint on a single one of mine...though I only have the Nomads Starter Pack and a half dozen other models or so. Really I've only cleaned and assembled my HMG intruder and a couple of the Aguacils :/

Your Zombicide is much further along than mine too...I have base coats on half of the survivors, and that's about it. Too many projects....ok, back to Necromunda terrain...

On a selfish note, glad you've not finished your zombies up, I'm no further with mine either

Ok, not really done much painting recently but I did do some more work on my Eldar before Christmas.

Continued work on 40 Guardians - the front 10 have their blue eyes and gems done, the rest all have their orange and black blocked out (the black shoulder pads and knee pads are different for each squad). Need their guns doing gray, then detailing, then a universal wash.

My Falcons have been sprayed with unit markings (I have one left to do). Shine is from the gloss varnish protecting the orange from the tape combined with the flash - it should hopefully go with a matt coat later on.

I am going to read through this properly after work but can I just say I really like your Nomad Zero - the paint job and basing reminds me of the old 1990's style White Dwarf minis!
Good luck with your mass painting - you are going to feel very smug once those zeds are all done and swarming nicely

Moving house and so on meant I didn't have my camera with me for most of the first half of the year to capture my (very slow) progress on my Eldar.

Almost all the guardians are almost finished (the 40 featured in the images below need basing and a couple of extra bits of colour on the cloth ties, runes, etc that some of them have and then they are done), with just a handful needing painting to start (support weapons and crews etc and a couple of misc guardians who didn't make the cut into the 5 main squads ).

I also retouched my Banshees (annoyed to hear they are apparently not that awesome still, but eh, I think they are great models so I will field them if I ever play my Eldar army ).

Continued the very slow progress on the Fire Dragons. How could it have taken me this long to half paint just 5 guys?!?

Sorry about the sideways picture - not sure why my phone uploads them like that...

However, my first WIP's of a terrain puck gun emplacement:

A small mound made from broken up packaging, pinned with cocktail sticks and covered with PVA and tissue paper. More cocktail sticks poked through to form spikes. Some resin pour gates to form anti-tank style dragons teeth. A bit of MDF spure from some laser cut terrain, along with some injection moulding inlets from model bases to form a telegraph pole.

Once it is dry I will add some sand to the mound, add broken wires to the telegraph pole and mount the gun on the ring. I hope it can be entered into both Briancj's contest and also the -=]_=- terrain contest

Well, after experimenting on some of the Reaper Bones models that I didn't really mind destroying () I have primed most of my standard sized figures (overall grey prime, then a white prime from above - going for my usual painting with washes, so this should give some extra shading on most figures ).

I love the mimic and it was the first model I took aside to get some paint on it - just need to paint the base purple to show the "flesh" lifting the rest of the creature forward to attack.

Perhaps my favorite model of the range is the chap on the left.

I don't know what has happened to me - two updates in two days?!?

Anyway, did a little more painting on my first batch of models:

Because mages need protection (the guy on the right I think I will repaint his butt cape as it looks too close in colour to his armour (somehow ):

It hasn't quite come out in this picture, but the colour on the dragon head actually looks really impressive

And because I like this model, another shot - unfortunately again the colours have not quite come through - the blue on the staff is an ink so it is glossy like a gemstone and not as flat as pictured:

Still plenty to do - this first group has about 10-15 models in it... I think from now on I will only do 5-10 at once as it is a little overwhelming with this many to do at once - also think I will use some of my air brush paint for the armour/silver as my old GW chainmail is behaving a little bit strangely...

Yeah, there are a few models in the range which would be good for practicing various things on. Plenty of cloaks for practicing freehand, certainly!

The good thing is there is a real mix of races/creatures too, so you get a little of everything.

I'm actually using automotive primer - I used a generic (Halfords own brand) grey primer so that I could see that the entire model was covered, then I hit them with a white primer when that had dried (again, a generic Halfords white primer). The grey primer is not bad but some of the models were a little grainy with the white spray - it might have been the air when I was spraying though as it was very humid.

I bought some foam trays in anticipation of the Bones KS arriving, so they can all (apart from the giant things) be put away neatly... though about half of them are on my painting table at the moment having been primed and waiting to be painted

+ Pipes and gantries from the Urban War biotoxin plan
+ Some matchsticks
+ Some wire from an old PC
+ Leftover wooden spru from my MAS buildings
+ Plastic inflow gates from some 40m bases (the power couples on the telegraph pole)

So, it turns out that London ate more of my time than I was expecting, so the junk pile is on the "to do at some point" pile

But, I have been playing with my airbrush for the first time in ages today and painted up the main colours on a large fire elemental (I think it looks pretty good, but I think I might redo him and play with the pressures a bit more to prevent so much splattering on some of the colours, and I need to paint his face) and have put a fair amount of paint onto Nethyrmaul - one hell of a cool model

I didn't even bother using thinned GW paints in the airbrush this time - just went straight to Vallejo and had zero problems with paint blocking the nozzle even with prolonged periods of spraying. Looking forward to getting some more colours with the Bones II kickstarter

I also used an old fashioned brush to add some blue wash to the skin of one of the storm giants.

Forgive the lighting; I think the wall socket has blown a fuse so most of my lights were not working. Also could not find my camera so had to use my phone

Large (Reaper) Fire Elemental:

Nethyrmaul:

Storm Giant:

Yeah, see what you mean about the elemental splatter, maybe just some washes over that will blend those in a bit? The colours look great though.

Nethyrmaul looks lovely, looks like a nice model too

Post by: SilverMK2

I think I can repaint it a lot better - I want to get a much hotter looking flame so will try to keep more of the white next time. I also think I will sculpt in the join between the right arm and the body a bit better so it is not so obvious.

Yeah, Nethyrmaul is a great model. Trying to decide whether I should stick with the quite muted tones I have, or to put some brighter colours on there. At the moment I am toying with the idea of adding a few bright patches of yellow on the wings, and some bright green slime for some of the wounds and seeping out of a few of the scales.

SilverMK2's thread o'stuff - Now with KoW! [Updated 23/Nov/15] @ 2014/02/20 15:17:24

Post by: monkeytroll

I think keeping the muted tones with contrasting bright slime effects would be a good look. Adding brightness to the wings will detract from it I feel.

SilverMK2's thread o'stuff - Now with KoW! [Updated 23/Nov/15] @ 2014/02/23 16:12:38

Post by: SilverMK2

Hmmm.. I'm not sure. I might add the slime and then see how it goes.

However, I've not done any painting... but I have started assembling/converting the worlds largest dragon - Kaladrax!

The original model:
Spoiler:

The "as supplied" pose was a bit too static, so I have been chopping and changing him to be "in flight" - I think it is going well so far. I removed one of the tail sections as when it was straightened out the tail is about 2ft long... which is a tad too long

I have to reheat the tail section as even with boiling water it has settled back part way to its original position; if it still won't stay, I will have to cut and pin it.

Also started pimping the skull a little - I wanted the mouth open so I could have it shooting flames out, so I cut the jawbone and added some extra teeth as the existing teeth are a little weedy. Added some extra beefy bone ridges as again the original skull was a little weedy. Will be adding corresponding ridges under each eye so I can make the eyes seem evil and squinting at the prey

Yeah, it is pretty damn big

In fact, it is bigger than the tray I use whenever I do any hobby stuff while watching TV

Reworked my flame elemental - still not 100% on it somay do it again

Also did some work on the Storm Giant - repainted him using an airbrush rather than just washes and he is looking reasonably cool.

Also done a bit of work on a flesh construct - going for more of a rotted look so did a nice base in a rotting green:

I also did a few zombies in variations of this colour, some darker and some lighter and a couple with a slight purple tinge. They will all be getting a flesh colour over the top, with some areas of rot showing through.

Did the bones and bandages on some mummies and skeletons - the newer models are so much better than the old style basic skeletons

And last but certainly not least, some bugs:

So, a little Dust Tactics - going for an urban winter scheme and using some of my Anarchy Models airbrush stencils. They worked pretty well - got a little bit of polishing to do to remove a little bit of paint build up along some of the stencils but other than that they worked great. Unfortunately the colours I chose didn't really come out very well but live and learn!

Really love the blue so may strip and retry using the blue and a darker grey. May just finish it off though just to see what it looks like. Will certainly be giving it a directed wash and pin wash to bring out some of the details as I think that will really make the camo colours look better.

The washes on the infantry haven't really come out but they have a very light wash of blue applied to the armour, and an olive green/grey to the fatigues.

Stencil seems to have worked well, reckon that'll look great with a detail wash and some weathering

Infantry look like they need another wash to bring out the colours - and now I've seen close ups of them I'm more tempted to get some, reckon I have a use for the gas-mask/cararpace armoured type dudes.

Cheers monkeytroll. Yeah - the stencil itself was great - but my colour choices were pretty rubbish looking at the finished product

The infantry look OK in the flesh - I have to admit that when I put on the blue wash it looked really heavy but has dried to pretty much nothing

The models themselves are pretty nice. Slightly larger scale than 40K (probably something like 32mm). They are also in a softer plastic, almost bones-like in consistency.

So, a few days ago I was minding my own business reading the forums when I saw Nykidemus' Knight reposing thread. He linked to the Queen Bee Knight on Bolter and Chainsword.

This unfortunately got me thinking and I broke down and purchased my first GW item in about 3-4 years (other than mini-rule book from ebay and a couple of codexes so I could keep using my stuff).

I knew that I wanted to do three things with the Knight kit:
1) Have a nice interior cockpit with pilot
2) Have an extensively converted, very dynamic pose
3) Create, as much as possible, a very unique looking model that has lots of hidden things to find on it that reflect the background of the machine and its pilot

I knew as soon as my mind clicked into "must do this project" mode that I was going for an Oriental looking Knight, along the lines of a masterless samurai. I have prepared some fluff below but a brief outline of my background is a dispossessed knight pilot who had to effectively exile themselves in order to protect the honour of their Clan. They now travel to distant warzones with a small retinue, fighting as far from the eyes of their Dynasty (effectively the Titan Order of the originating world) as possible.

I knew that I wanted to replace the weapons melded to the elbows which reduce dexterity with fully jointed arms holding upscaled weapons - this would significantly increase the range of practical poses it will be possible to arrange the kit into as well. I wanted to seriously make the appearance of the legs more visually bulky - my current thoughts run along including a series of armoured plates cascading down from the chest/waist plate similar to the armour worn by Samurai. I am going to attempt to make the weapons interchangeable.

Some fluff:
Spoiler:
Fa 'Ulan's day was not looking good - her father had been badly hurt in the last engagement and was close to death. His Knight, Silent Heart, had suffered equally at the hands of the Dark Enemy. The Fa Clan was a breath away from total destruction. If her father did not ride to war the other clans of the Dynasty would erase her Clan from the histories - none would mourn the passing of such an insignificant House.

'Ulan had worked tirelessly on the battered Silent Heart since her father had somehow managed to pilot it back to the shattered industrial complex they were using as a makeshift base of operations. It's machine spirit cried out with anguish at the damage its systems had sustained and fresh pain coursed through it as 'Ulan hastily connected replacement parts made from scrap with makeshift adaptors to tie in as many of the Knights processors as possible. All the while she cursed the Engiseers and retainers of the Fa Clan who had dissipated into the ruins when they saw the end of the clan rapidly approaching. She most especially cursed the Dynasty's refusal to permit female pilots; if she had been permitted to pilot in her father's place she would be the one under the care of the surgical servitor and her father would be alive and well; able to carry on the Fa Clan.

The lights in Silent Heart's cockpit dimmed suddenly and the entire knight shuddered gently. 'Ulan's breath caught in her throat. Instinctively she knew that Silent Heart's machine spirit was reacting to the death of her father. Her communicator chimed softly and she pressed the combination to accept the call. A grainy image of her father's bloodless face stared up at her as the image from the surgical servitor's visual auspex was relayed to her small screen. Small droplets of blood coated the lens and remained in place as the image of her father shifted as the servitor moved slightly. A scratchy, emotionless voice emanated from the speakers. "Fa 'Hou's life processes have terminated - this servitor has been unable to restore them."

'Ulan's vision blurred slightly as silent tears streamed down her face. After a few moments she nodded softly to herself and blinked them away. Her voice was only slightly shaky as she replied to the servitor, giving it instructions for the disposal of her father's body... and what it should do next.

++++

'Ulan carefully sat back in the command throne, the thick bandages wrapping her head utterly failed to stop her skull from feeling like it was in the process of exploding and every motion shot intense agony through her mind. She could not have hoped for better following field surgery from a third rate surgical servitor in a dirty run down manufactorum. 'Ulan thought that asking the servitor to remove her father's neural interface links before cremating the body had been hard, but it was nowhere near as hard as laying down on the same blood soaked gurney and instructing the servitor to implant them in HER.

She didn't dare thumb the infuser to dull the pain - she would need all her wits when interfacing with the machine spirit of Silent Heart for the first time. She leaned back into the padded leather of the control throne, feeling the metal struts beneath thrumming with power and took a deep breath. Her hand reached behind her head and grasped the thick interface cable, guiding it towards the cold metal port that now glistened at the base of her skull. She felt it slide into the matter of her brain and then there was a moment of blinding pain and she slumped unconscious against the restraints.

++++

A gentle yet incessant alarm and a subtle flashing in her vision brought 'Ulan around. She groaned and rocked against the harness holding her in place. Her hand reached up to her head to block out the light shining into her eyes but it made no difference and the flashing continued - her questing fingers brushed over her closed eyelids and she jerked fully awake as she suddenly realised that the threat detection alarm was being broadcast directly into her mind. She instinctively reached for the controls, laying her hands over the worn console she had come to know, first as a girl sitting on her father's knee, then later as she worked through the mysteries of the Engiseer ranks in the Fa Clan's small temple. Her feet simultaneously settled onto the foot controls as she brought Silent Heart's reactor fully online while disconnecting the external power cart. The part of her mind which was connected to Silent Heart watched on one of the external cameras as the armoured power cable fell snaking to the ground as the adamantium port sealed itself over the reactor housing.

She could feel a pressure from Silent Heart in her mind but she could not spare the time to deal with it as the sensors registered active targeting auspexes pinging her hull. She rapidly recalibrated the ion shield to defend her vulnerable side as she fought to bring the other defensive systems online. The ion shield flashed as a high explosive shell detonated against it. A fraction of a second later the external microphones relayed the double thunderclap of the initial shot and its impact to her. 'Ulan swung Silent Heart around, rotating the ion shield as she turned. The long armour strands protecting the vulnerable joints of the waist and hip gently swayed as she moved. The targeting auspex burst into life as Silent Heart brought the offensive systems online. 'Ulan knew that the machine spirit would need a lot of convincing but Silent Heart was born for war. And war was precisely what 'Ulan intended to wage.

Her lips formed a harsh smile as she spoke her Clan's words. "Family. Honour. Faith." She drew the immense power sword strapped to Silent Heart's waist and grinned. She would keep her family's honour even if it killed her...

A few inspirational images:
Spoiler:

Something similar to the pose I will be attempting:

And, a brief shot of some early WIP on the cockpit:

I will be covering the majority of the walls of the cockpit with gubbins and cables and controls - I want to make it seem cramped and confined and retain the impression that the majority of the Knight it filled with equipment. To this end, the front wall will be swept very close to the command chair - I will be adding ladder rungs which will match up with the escape hatch on the Knight's top surface.

I will be modifying the pilot slightly to match my fluff.

Always nice to see other people detailing the interiors of their vehicles.

Did you have to remove much material to make space or is that large hole in the middle already there for the use of?

Nice fluff too.

The entire inside of the torso is hollow so it is really easy to put stuff inside. The top plate is also really easy to pop on and off - you dont even need magnets or pins.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the fluff

Walls are moulded from necromunda bulkheads. If I had more time I would have done my own.

No plans currently to light it - the kits and conversions has already cost enough already

Did a fair bit of work at the weekend and have now almost completed the cockpit (need to finish off the front with ladders to the roof hatch and tidy up a few of the seams) and am pretty happy with it.

Got some heads from Statuesque and decided to replace the torso with a wood elf torso as the Statuesque heads are realistic rather than heroic scale and it looked really small even on the trimmed down IG torso

A small shrine in the cockpit:

Side wall just placed in but not glued:

Cockpit mounted on the heavily converted legs:

Fully armoured and the start of the power sword - the arms will both be converted to feature hands rather than have built in weapons:

Because one weapon is never enough - magnetic weapons!

Haha, thank you

A few more pictures of samurai armour - hope to reference them when making the shoulders, chest/torso and leg guards.

Spoiler:

Some more fluff:
Spoiler:
’Ulan revelled with Silent Heart’s joy as they stood over the smoking remains of the machines of the Dark Enemy, their immense weight crushing composite armour beneath their feet. New scars crisscrossed their armour, matching generations of carefully and patiently repaired damage sustained in countless battles. Small arms fire reached out at her from the surrounding ruins and she sent fire arcing out to silence it with a thought. Nothing could steal this victory from her, although many would try if they knew she had piloted Silent Heart and not her father.

With a grinding of metal they stepped from the shredded corpse of the armoured vehicle and returned to the cover of the abandoned manufatorum. She had to act fast before her actions were discovered and the other clans banded against her. She sent a communication to the remaining retainers, instructing them to prepare for a rapid departure.

‘Ulan took a deep breath to steady her pulse still racing from the exhilaration of combat and accessed her father’s neural implants. She almost passed out as dizzying and nausea swept through her as the still raw connections interfaced with the conscious levels of her mind. Fighting against it she laboriously worked her way through the menus and memory clusters in her virtual vision until she reached the Fa Clan’s secure storage module and unlocked it with her family’s cyphers. With sweat breaking out on her brow ‘Ulan composed a missive to the Dynasty, informing them of the destruction of the armoured company in her section and begging their permission for the Fa Clan to withdraw from the front due to significant damage sustained to Silent Heart in combat. She marked it with her father’s mark and sent it via a secure carrier signal to the Dynasty’s headquarters.

‘Ulan slouched into the padded throne as she dismissed the memory facilities. Another thing to overcome if she survived what was to come.

+++

Her remaining retainers were finishing loading the armoured trucks with Silent Heart’s support equipment when the Dynasty movement orders flashed up in ‘Ulan’s vision. Her heart leapt to her throat as she opened and decoded it.

-- To: Fa ‘Hou --
-- From: Dynasty Tactical Command --
-- New movement orders: --
-- Fa Clan authorised to withdraw to spaceport to for transport to orbit in order to affect repairs –

‘Ulan sent a standard confirmation before settling Silent Heart into its transport cradle, powering down the main reactor as the umbilicals fed it enough power to maintain standby mode. She could feel Silent Heart’s machine spirit pressing in on her mind.

What was one more impossible thing in the face of all she had accomplished this morning?

Thanks Yellowbeard and Dr H

I am planning on doing hands that are a slightly lower tech looking version of something like this:

I hope to tie this in with the rest of the samurai style armour by adding traditional looking gloves/wrist armour:

I really want the armour to look like it is removable - armour that is able to be taken off between battles and repaired, with replacement parts hooked into place. It makes sense to me that something like a Knight with so many moving parts exposed to fire would need armour that is well fitting meaning that damaged parts would have to regularly be swapped out to stop them fouling the motion of the Knight. This is especially the case with the smaller armour parts and I think it really suits the Samurai style armour which is made up of multiple small plates.

Haha! I know the feeling!

I have not finished them, but I have about 20-30 of them mostly assembled and just waiting for details to be added before painting. They are probably number 3 or 4 on my to do list after the knight, my eldar and possibly kaladrax as he just needs a little bit doing to finish one wing and then painting.

Cheers Mike

Got most of the main assembly done on the body, and working on the hands and sword and gun. Also trying to figure out exactly how to samurai things up in terms of armour

So, I decided to press on with some Eldar tanks after fixing (kind of... it is now a little too thick and kept on gunking up my airbrush - possibly a combination of using a GW foundation paint as my starting point and spraying a large amount of paint) my paint mixture. Have to say that I am reasonably happy with the results so far - need a wash to hit the recesses, some dirtying up of the engine intakes (and perhaps leading edges?) and all the detailing doing but we are getting there

Really happy with how well the Anarchy Models stencils worked out. Some of the smaller ones will have a very limited number of uses before they die (mostly as I was using some quite fiddly shaped ones which were really thin) but the rest should be good for longer.

The full group with all the stencils I used:

Some of the Falcons:

What would really help with that impression would be some basing- if you can get a little bit of a ground-layer on that base, and put in both a small skid-mark behind the foot and some piled-up dirt in front of it (or cobblestones or whatever), that would seriously help with the feeling of 'halting' forwards movement.

Kings Of War goblin army, with trolls to be used as part of a larger combined orc and goblin army. This in turn will be part of a larger "evil" army with my Abyssal army arriving at some point next year.

The armies will be winter themed, with the Abyssals from the Ice Peaks themselves "Children of Winter"), and the orcs, goblins and trolls from the far northern steppes. All forged into a force to rekindle (if one can use the term!) Winter's grasp on the world.

My Eldar are finally getting repainted to match the infantry (and about the 4th or 5th repaint on some of the Falcons...). But now I am happy with how they look when done!

I also made some riders for the 4 jetbikes which were riderless as well as gunners for the Vipers and am currently manufacturing more windows for the vehicles which need them.

You can probably see some of the stencils which are just showing through the white paint, and those which overhang models. Have to say they are great and most of them are still going strong after multiple uses. Some of the ones I practised with at the start are dead however!

Very glad I saw the second kickstarter and have jumped on it to get some replacements and additional designs.
