Hey everyone got another update for you all. I am 90% done with the jetbike pilot and still playing with the highlighting and weathering and still not to happy with it . Also about 90% with the sgt. And got tons of touch ups. The base on the jetbike is done and let me know what you guys think? The clear peg I moded by drilling into it and placed a pin in it to get the tilt on the jetbike if anybody is asking .
And last got the assembly line still going on the bikers.

Hey GD1, hows it going. I like that jetbike, i wasnt sure at first in bare resin. it looksr a bit chunky, after paint however is pretty cool! Liking that mat aswell. What size force are you upto now?
@CL welome back brother . Yea the jetbike kinda look odd but it was a look back in the old Rouge Trader days and early GW when Judge Dred was sorta related in the 40k universe. The artist of Thud the Barbarian (god I am old ) drew a jet bike in RT and looked chunky as I called it like the current bikes look now. Anywho it is a one off for now till I can do a what everyone is calling pre heresey army and paint it like yours. As for points I believe I am at 2700 points I think bit will tally it up and will let you know.

NF09 yea the chunky flyer turned out great and that pose is what I was looking for glad you noticed it and as for me not happy well I am my biggest critic I just gotta keep telling my self that get it to table top quality and that I am not entering it in any contest .

Ok again everyone thank you for lurking or commenting on my work you guys and gals help me motivate my painting and also love to see your work also. I will be updating again soon but this weekend there is F1, Bathurst, and UFC god too many distractions but does give me a break.
As I mention before Fasteddie is off all next week to eat up some of his PTO or he will loose it and that will be a week of painting so stay tuned everyone.

It's cool brother I am always willing to help you on hobby tips. I use Vallejo pigments which is cheaper then Mig and FW and gets the same results. Also for a cheaper way to go is to go to any art store and buy pastels and use a small metal cooking strainer to grind down the pastel sticks to the amount you want to use.
This is a old scale model trick I found out after I bought my pigments. If you go back on this thread I believe I have a vid or link on it.

Remi I use Vallejo pigments using straight iso alchohol 99% and a little Devlan mud wash to get this effect. And for my unhappiness of my work well I am just a big critic of my self and I already got over it and just like my first batch of termies my second came out better so maybe my next squad will be better looking in my eyes .
Ok a pretty good update and yes you will be shocked what I was painting . I decided to help fasteddie with his army and help paint his tanks.
He is off all this week to burn some vacation time and it will be a week long paint session. He was getting use to his airbrush by painting some terrian pieces and after showing him some tips I say he got it .
And I been working on my attack bike along with Eddie's tank so let me know what you guys think.
You guys have the sickest terrain! I have some projects coming up that I'll share after a while, but it just seems over and over that you guys have a really intense table.
Airbrush...I really need to stop talking about it and just make the investment.

I still have the PM GD1 sent me a while back, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for other than I want something that I can use primarily for terrain, I don't see myself doing miniatures w/ this.
Alright dakka folks another update. Fasteddie stayed home to build the rest of the tanks so I am about 90% done with his vindicator I just gotta do some details and weathering and I started on his rhino and about 60% done.
While those where drying I am almost done with my attack bike I just got touch ups and weathering. I also primed and somewhat based the bike bases and will have to do some brush work and weathering later. So again let me know what you guys think.
Cool stuff. I really like the terrain you have and the attack bike is looking good... cant beat a techmarine on a bike! as for the ultramarines vindicator.... booo! lol. It looks good though

Glad you like all of it especially the attack bike. It's wierd they give you a tech marine head in the sprue but no back pack hmmmmm wierd every picture of a RW nobody done one so why not all the tanks have a tech marine why not the Ravenwing lucky for me Eddie has over 20 yrs of bits I got a backpack .
Anyways glad you liked it and I knew I was going to get gripe from my followers sooner or later when I deviate from the DA colors . Common you guys gotta understand fasteddie is kinda like Vanhammer and love to build and do conversions but that slows his painting down and I hate fighting a half gray Ultra Marine army . @NF09 glad you like the foot wear somethings I just can't stop wearing since I left my hometown of Oahu wells the terrian pieces that Fasteddie is working on are both from Microart Studios. The tower and barraks is one kit and the bunker is another both made of dense foam except the tower its made of MDF like Warmills product btw which I will be purchasing soon.

Ok guys I got sorta burnt out on my Ravenwing and decided to work on a figure from Hitech Minitures that fasteddie got me a while back.
I also did another test/practice figure of a IG trooper between dry time. So this is a small update and I thought I would be almost done with my RW but teaching fasteddie some airbrush techniques and working on his tanks that kinda ate my time on my guys but gave me a good break to get me recharged to start on my RW. OK nuff blah blah here you guys go.

Not that I am aware of but there are few other like-minded Finno/Japanese people around here, so might have been some of them.
Hey everybody another small update and do I have a treat for ya ! I am about 75% done on the Hitech model and did some changes to match my current army. I pin washed certain areas of the armour using Secret Weapons/ Les Bursley wash light body wash. And I gotta admit it is one of the best washes and is better I mean way better then Vallejo's washes ( sorry they cant be perfect on all products ).
I also started on the shield and trying to throw a classic RT theme to it like I did on my first terminator squad.
Hopefully I can be finish with this soon along with my RW which I been ignoring .

Rogue Wolves thanks for tuning in . Well I have been using my airbrush to help me get the shading right. But when I did brush it after priming it with black primer I based the robe with GW Bone white or VMC Iraqi Sand (I use the Vallejo Iraqi Sand) then wash it with GW Gryphon Sephia. Then wet blend using the base color as a highlight. If you never wet blended a good tutorial is my long time hero and former GW guy Mike McVey at Mcvey studios or my current master Massive Vodoo.

ephreal ( love your name ) thanks for dropping in . Yea it's a old school scale modeler trick that now made it to our hobby. You gloss coat the area and this protects the paint and wont bleed into your current area and using a controlled washing with a fine tip brush. The gloss coat gives the wash a smooth surface to flow in with ease. Please go to youtube and check out Model medic, awsomepaintjob and sleepylafiel ( this site is in japanese but you still get the idea)

I am glad you like it Yea the model is good has tons of bling but up close you start to see parts that could of been detailed better so this is sorta a short arm distance or on the table model to look at so you just far enough to see the models good parts . Kinda like a abstract art you gotta stand at a distance to appreciate it .

Good day mr GD1 how is life treating you dude? good to see some more work from you, i'm a bit of a Greydeath1 groupie I'll admit, and i'm steadily bouncing from GD1 painting concerts to Fasteddie concerts! he's quite the modeller isn't he! impressive although i need to see his tattoo closer up as it sometimes appears to be a phallic device on his forearm? :-)
how's the hightech mini overall? size wise and quality? I've looked at other mini's to paint and like some (not all) of their stuff but wanted to incorporate it if i could in an army? not much on them out there being worked on so it's nice to see someone doing one, and I may add doing one quite well too! I like the robes around the head that's going to really draw your eye to the centre of him nicely!
and now it's time for me to crank up the Prodigy and bust out my own brushes for a day of painting joy! or until the sunshine lures me shirtless outside to bask in it's warmth! then i'll hate myself for not painting much so I'll annoy Kristy and miss dinner screaming from the Nerd Lair "HANG ON I"M JUST PAINTING, THESE PEOPLE NEED AN UPDATE DAMMIT WOMAN!" .... or something like that!

@NF09 Thanks man. As for the Hitech models this was my first and fasteddie got it for me for painting Calgar. But like I mentioned earlier overall its good but the face and the cape could be better.
But man you gotta get snappin on painting some of your marines we all need a update.

Hey everyone I know you have not seen any new RW update its because I have been distracted with other models . But to make it up here is the Hitech model and now calling him Captain Micha'el the Deathwing himself ( my fluff on why they call it the Deathwing) .
He could of have more details and if you been reading my thread you know my gripe on this model.
So be honest on how he turned out.
That guy seems fine, but I do agree with you and the cloack only needs some last final edge highlights!

Yup, looks good. Love the blade, but perhaps the armour could use some more definition. Some dark brown or black outlining for the armour plates would define them more. A better solution might be to give it a wash of heavily thinned black oil paint.
Ignore the kraut it looks perfect. It's really cool to see another master of the deathwing besides belial (who is awesome but still). That mini is seriously pimp though, I love it.

Thanks for the imput on the cape and armour. My camera seems to wash some of the fading and when I did wash it originally and DAAAAAMN IT!!!! Had to start over . So after re basing it and detailing the gold trim then I gloss coated him and pin washed him. And to tell you the truth the wash did not cling to too many areas.

Thanks HAZZER, Yea as mentioned above the camera washed some of the blending and fading. Also not a big fan of the more extreme hard lining and highlighting. As you seen in the links I sent you

Ok everyone I promised HAZZER the resources I get my skills from. I thought I could paint well but my steps was all over the place and spent too much time on one figure when I needed to paint my whole army quickly and neatly for a tabletop quality army. So almost 2 years ago when I started this thread I found out about Les Bursley on youtube to actually help fasteddie paint faster and instead it actually helped me out too ! He actually refined my steps and stop me from being all over the place.
Then later read a article in White Dwarf from Jervis Johnson on painting the HQ and elites to a higher standard because you want them to stand out away from the troops. All this help me set a basic tabletop quality troops and a better then tabletop quality paint job on my HQ and Elites. So this is my standard because I wanted to get my troops on the table quickly.
Remember this is my view and no way be set in stone and you should follow your way and just improve on your skill like I did with every figure and model.

Hey everyone I finally got back on the saddle and back painting my neglected Ravenwing .
So I have tons of distractions this weekend from UFC to F1 so I gotta get snappin!!
I got my assembly line going and trying to finish most of the bikes done this weekend and maybe recruit Fasteddie to build my landspeeder (I really hate building) .

Hey everyone and Happy Halloween ! Ok here is a small update on my RW and did not get very far as I planned . But manage to get a robed marine sorta done and I still have alot of details on him yet.
I got the legs on the bike and the lighting effects on the head lamp done but still tons to do. So here is what I got done.
Damn dude! those are looking excellent! I absolutely love the way you did the sword! it looks like a glossy obsidian blade of agonizing death! and if the glow from the lamps looks anything like the effect on Fasteddie's rhino, then these bikes are just going to be such a nice centre piece squad, roaring down the battlefield chasing the fallen and trying not to get there crisp bone bath robes dirty

RW Thanks for checking in on my threads ! Yea trying to seperate the rider and the bike and not have him washed/blend in with the bike. I still got tons of work to do on the squad and trying to accomplish Brother Argos's style with mine on this RW project. Please check his thread even though he is in stasis for a while it is still good reading and inspiration.

looking great man! I really hope you're closer now to finishing them? I can't wait to see them done! black is such a pita colour/shade to paint well, and attempting to differentiate the intensity of the tones is a big call for anyone to do, but if anyone can do it, it's you!

Thanks CL. My regular DA is done for now along with my DW and just concentrating on my RW.
I am just building a variations on the DA to test each force and not doing one of those tourney list that wipe your opponents off the table . I am a fan of the DA first and building a competitive army last.
Even though the DW/RW combo is very appealing .

Alright guys not a real update but a wrench thrown in my painting progress I always feel everyone needs to take a break and let their creative juices recharge and well..... thats what I am doing So if you do not see a update for several days here is the reason (wrench) why

I just want to wish all Veterans a Happy Veterans Day and always share your memories with your family and friends of those who have fallen in the line of duty. Also to honor our active serving members who are still defending our great country.
I have served in the US Navy from 90 - 94 and was in two campaigns during my service. I was in the first Gulf War serving along side my Marine brothers and also Somalia.
It was a honor to serve my country during that time and still honor all active members who served after me.
So please shake their hands and thank any veterans of all wars and from any allied country not just on this day but every time you see a member of the armed forces.
Hey everyone sorry for not posting for a while . I just started my new job last week and on my second week.
I also had a busy weekend for my wifes B-Day this past weekend so no painting or gaming

Ahhhh the silver tongue of the devil You sure your not slaanesh mister nurgle man?!?! May I suggest a longtime hangout of mine for my 3D work? You might find some good collaborators on there. Go over to www.scifi-meshes.com and search for threads started by Binkerman. He's modeling and texturing some absolutely kickass GK stuff that's easily on par with the work shown in the trailer.

Hey everyone sorry I have'nt posted anything new on my RW. I been occupied with work and been busy on the weekends and... itching to start my Grey Knights!
So I might take a break on them and finish them in between drying time of my GK.

Hey guys thanks for still sticking around . Sorry NF09 no big updates I been caught up with holiday chores and got a chest cold not so long ago and been messing with my Grey Knights army.
My squad of Ravenwing been giving me the finger from my desk since I have been ignoring them . But I reallly want to thank you guys for sticking around even though there is no big updates. And now I have a potential client who wants me to paint 2 Reaper models by the 2nd of January. Well as long as it funds my hobby no problem.
Well if I don't post anything soon you guys and gals have a great Christmas and happy painting!!

Hey everyone it has been awhile since I been posting anything, I got a new rifle and was enjoying that and was enjoying the summer with family and friends.
It was a good break from the hobby but now that 6th Ed been out for a few months and I picked up my Dark Vengeance box set, it's time to jump back into it all. I was working on my Librarian and got a email from a new customer argh! Oh well customers first.
But here is the Libby I am working on and I also re weathered my Landraider, and will be assembling my Deathwing from the box set between my customers Malfaux models.

Ok guys small update. Slow start because my customers come first. So I got my DW assembled, primed, based, and highlighted. Also my Libby is 80% done and need to detail more on it.

Ah such sweet treats for my eyes! :-) Libby is great, love the glow forming in the palm! and the Deathwing are looking tasty even at that stage lurking in the background!
Ok another small update finally finished the Libby and was not really happy with his sword but meh will just call it done for now and will change it up later if it still bothers me.
Ok the DW is coming along and ran into a bump on the feathers on the assault cannon termie the mold was not too define on it and after priming and base color the details even got less!?! Aargh !
Oh well let me know what you guys think.
My only complaint here would be the CML, that piece is just to big to be believable. Its' scrawny mounting looks like it was just stuck on as an afterthought and will probably snap off with the first gust of wind. It also just looks to big and bulky, even for a terminator.
I know GWCML bits are hard to find and stupid expensive. But there are other alternatives out there. I use the turret from this piece: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/outlaw/latest/24589 and at 77 cents per missile launcher, it is a steal!
But I guess the CML is all personal preference.
The painting on the other hand is great. I can't wait to see these guys completely finished!

Damn that was quick comment lol! Thanks man yea I agree on the mounting part but its made of the emperors admetanium lol! Well the scale is pretty close and just a tad bigger the the stock one see below.

Ok folks small update was a bit busy at my local gaming stores Flea Market yesterday so littoe painting done but got about 90% done on my AC termie and mounted him on a resin base and assembled my DV tactical guys and ready for priming and basing. Take a look.
Ok small update everyone. I primed and based color my tactical marines and ready for detail. This squad will be my fast way of painting and wont spend too much time on them. Take a look.
Another small update. My tactical marines almost done and worked on the Sargeant and did my take on skin color on him, hell why is every Space Marine white lol minus the Salamanders let me know what you guys think. Also NF09 there is no Canis in the background lol.

Thanks RW airbrush makes it easy and quicker. Before I used bone white and washed it with Gyphon Sephia or what ever GW calls it now or if you use oils use Raw Sienna (make sure you varnish it with clear or satin) then highlight where needed.
RW I use a Badger 360 and a Master G43 for all my work. My Master is for fine detail since it has a smaller needle then my Badger.
