Thanks for all the responses guys. I would have posted an update last night, but half way through painting some more I ran into a problem. My daughter started crying and when I went and checked on her and picked her up to sing her back to sleep, she vomited profusely. Down my shoulder, into my back pants pocket, inside my shirt, in my boxers. Ugh, nightmare. Anyway, if she is feeling better today, I should be able to do a big update with plenty of pictures.

She does, it was like a 24 hour stomach virus. Okay dakkanauts, I need help. The crab has its legs attached and one of the arms. All the basics are done, but now I am stumped on how to do the transport. If anyone out there could throw some pics or ideas my way, that would be a big help. Thanks guys.

Perhaps a sled, or carraige (sp?) towed behind?

um... maybe have orky heads or arms sticking out of the gap in the shell, like the models are all inside the shell being carried around... and then maybe have a sneaky door somewhere where they can pile out? Also maybe a few small round windows like on a ship or submarine would go with it?

I say a nice platform in squgghot way!

Platforms work for me. Maybe one on top and a smaller one midway down the back of the shell?

Although towing a basic cart or sled might work well too.

My god, who makes that model? I would love to check out more of their work. That thing is amazing.

It's a new Forgeworld model although it's a bit bigger than a warboss:

Forgeworld gets away with selling that? Dang. It's some hunks of clay mashed together in a roughly golem-like form, and carved into a patterns and such. Really wouldn't be that hard to make.

Love the mono wheel cyboar going to have to use that at some point. That Rock Idol definitely has Mega Dred potential, just needs a weirdboy mounted on it to bring it to life. Hows the squiggoth coming along?

Feel free to snag any idea you see me use Bang. I think the rock idol is more the size of a stompah actually. And the squiggoth is on hold for the time being. I'll post a picture later today of what I have done (not much). I got frustrated with not being inspired enough to finish it and have since been working back on my dark eldar. I plan on working on them a little more over the next few days and trying to get some pictures of them up too. Would like to at least get 1 full squad done, just to see how the whole thing would look.

Finally got some pictures taken of the crab squiggoth. Not much done to it. Really stuck on how to do the Howdah, like what to use and what to make it look like. Don't worry, inspiration with strike soon enough I am sure.

Well, there you go so far. Enjoy those and don't forget to check my Dark Eldar that I am working on more fervently now.

Have you decided on what sort of form the howdah is going to take? Platforms, sled, towed cart, star-fish, floating clouds of candyfloss? Not so sure the last idea works so well when mixed with a watery background.

Glad you took the time to peep my little project log here. Thank you for your compliment, and also thank you for your criticism. Honestly, I know they don't look real gritty and grimy and beaten up like a true ork vehicle should, but for some reason I have a hard time with that. I guess I have a hard time taking a model I painstakingly worked on to make it look nice, and then intentionally make it look bad. I have reached a total quagmire. But thank you though, and I will take that into consideration on further projects.

Monkey, I have still yet to decide. I think that is why I am hesitant to try anything else right now, because I don't know what I want to do and I don't want to botch the whole damned project because I am not sure. I am fairly sure I am going to go with something along the lines of just a big platform with a sealed cabin for the crew to hide in while submerged. Still mulling it over while I paint up some naughty evil space elves.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I will try and work a little harder on both armies.

I'd make the howda look like an airboat

Easy to construct, massive propeller on the back (very orky).

Just have all the orks on it wearing a snorkel... because surely nothing will go wrong when it goes under water...
