I thought they would be fun to do after I started my 'Da Brazen Klawz.

Basic concept of my paint scheme is red and blue quartered with a black wash.

With 'Da Howlin' Griffinz you could do a red and yellow quartered with a brown wash.

I think it would look really slick. And I think the quartered looks better and if more fun to paint than the halved.

I know! Thats why I chose dem, caus a u!

Yeah - I think splitting the helmet and gob with two colours (red/yellow) would look better too.

Also, don't be afraid to mix it up a bit - put a yellow arm band on the red side and vice versa, or both red or yellow, or even white and black checked - they are still Orks - they don't necessarily understand what a rigid uniform is

Unless you have any Stormboyz. Though those would be more Blood Angels, wouldn't they...

I'll redo the egsakushana as hia helmet/shoulder pad/leg band didn't turn the right yellow...

I like them both, but I think the Howlin' Grifon is better executed. I also think the red/yellow is easier to see with only one model. A whole squad of either would look great!

The chapter tattoo looks like a red troll skull, to me. It's the missing bottom point on the axe blades that cinch it, I think. Also, try that one with the grey shoulder pad having spikes and the golden pad with no spikes. See if that sells it a little better.

I am rooting for the grey one because of the chapter tat. It's perfect for an ork trying to look like one of the humies, Blood Axes and all.

Also, I'd like to second Arakasi's suggestion for mixing it up to the point of not matching, and the checkers.

I'm thinking of maybe doing a mob of both, but because of the fluff I've thought up, Dey wont be boyz (well you can't have two mobs of ard boyz, can you )
And, of course, a Kaptin for both

Da Brazen Klawz have shown how good the quartered scheme works for orks

I tink I'll be needing 2 black ork boxes, as I don't think the scheme works on normal orks...

Not tried them myself so don't know how good they are, but these might help you out. Paperhammer certainly has a very good rep for templates.

What's giving you issues matt?

Mainly beding the 0.5mm plasticard into shape...

Hot water and hair-dryers seem to be fairly common tools for helping with that. Depends on what you're making and where it's getting attached - for most of the shapes I've bent I've got away with just over-bending it first then using a fast-setting glue - but that's for when there's good surface contact.

What shape and size are you trying to get?

Well, I'm tryin to get a circle with a diameter of about 2.5 cm.... That's only to start off with before I start on the body and (the rest of) the head

Wouldn't some plastic tubing be better for that? Maybe check out some hardware or plumbing stores if plasticard stock is hard to come by.
