If you're doing so much cyborking... You have a much bigger canvas here than usual, so I feel like you could do some torso-cyborking as well, instead of just the standard limb-and-head.

Like a big reactor in place of his heart, or bellows for lungs or something.


For the warbanner- I've always been a fan of the 'rack-o-heads'. Something that would be neat could be leaving space for you to add a head from for each army that you defeat.

Thanks for the warm welcome backs! As far as the cyborking I wasnt planning on going too extreme with the body, mainly because I dont want to mess with the absolutely bonkers muscles this mini has. That was one of the things that drew me to it honestly. But I do dig the idea of the heads, maybe not for the boss banner idea just just in general.

Anywho here's a quick update, not too much happening yet but I had an hour and got something done

Also, for the heads- something you could maybe do is put a big hook on him somewhere, and then you could attach heads to little jewelry chains or wire loops and just hook them onto the model when you want them on it. Tailor it to the army you're fighting against, maybe.

I like the idea of having looted all the banners from lesser bosses (which would obviously be all the bosses in this case), so maybe a banner pole that trails behind him like a wedding train, formed of various banners crudely stitched together. Maybe not even a back banner, but a mekanikal banner bearer that follows him around due to the masses of banners hanging off it - or a palanquin he rides that is draped in them all.

Another option for the head might be to source a 54mm orc head?

Well I woke up at 5am this morning and got some work done. I'm almost to the point where I feel like the lower half is done, maybe something here or there but it's mostly done. I also did a thing with the head, its MUCH larger now, and I'm going to try this out before really trying to buy a 54mm head that looks good to me. I dug around a little bit but I couldn't find any GW orcs/orks in 54mm and most other ranges dont look like. So I'm hoping I can pull this off instead, I'm going to try and add a helmet with big ass horns like from a steer, that might be cool or disastrous, guess we'll see when I get that far, next up is torso and robo hands. Anywho, here's a photo dump of what I got done













This last pic is dark and terrible but I tried 5 different times and the current lighting (it's down pouring all day) is just not working so HOPEFULLY you can see a bit of where the head is at currently. Its turning out better than I thought so that's a good start lol



Well that's this weekend folks, still surfing for ideas on anything in general, sometimes they spark some inspiration and whatnot. I do like the idea of making something follow the Warlord carrying all the banners, like a pile of grots pulling a wagon or some boyzs hauling then around. I DO want them on the Warlord but I also know it might clash with what I'm wanting so extra minis might be cool. Either way, enjoy everyone!

Thanks gentlemen! I got the idea for the stretch from back in the day when Space Marine players had to do a similar trick to TRUSCALE their marines. I've always wondered if I could do the same with an ork but never tried. It works a treat turns out! The head now is gigantic! And that's saying something since the AOBR boss head is pretty large to begin with.

I should of jumped on the green stuff band wagon years ago, its wonky at first but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it quick enough, quick enough to BS my way through what I'm using it for anyways

Stayed home yesterday, didnt feel so hot so I figured I'd try and get some work done on the ol Warlord. I clumsily tried several things that all literally fell apart or didnt work so I gave up last night and went to sleep. I woke up this morning though and got some stuff done!

I wanted a helmet and rather than sculpting one fromscratch, I did the ol stretcher out trick again




I think it turned out well enough! I'm going to add big ol horns I think as well as add the small little metal patch that was originally on the helm.







So there we are as of now! The bulking out of the head worked pretty close to perfect I think. It's actually large enough in scale to not look out of place on the mass of the body,which was one of my biggest complaints on this conversion I've seen, no one seemed to care that heads are noticeably too small. I do think once everything is dry and before adding huge bull horns I'm going to gouge out the nose and rework that. It looks OK but since I have no rush on this model I can take my time, and I want the nose to look better. Next stop is nose, horns, some small blob of neck and then the awesomely awesome power fist hands of krumpin.

Take care that you don't make the powerkaws too outlandishly huge. It's a common thing to make kustom PKs big on Warbosses, but on this guy you'll want to be careful with making it too big- since something that's disproportionately large on HIM is gonna be enormous. A normal-proportion PK is still gonna be, like, the size of a marine's torso.

His face is as large as a Marines whole upper torso But have no fear, I've thought of that as well, scale on this model is important to me, again that's why even though I think the other efforts I'veseen are cool, the scale/proportions on many parts are just way off. Dont want a lop sided warlord here.

The power fists will be quite large obviously, because this guy is probably in the neighborhood of 20-24 feet tall, but I'm making sure the fists look at least mostly in proportion. I did a thing to the head as well, after taking this picture I see that I need to whittle down some on the left side horn, it's a bit too off from the right side. I'll wait for the glue to dry before addressing it. The horns turned out pretty nice I think

Imposing indeed! I still chuckle sometimes, this guy is a friggin monster!
Now today was not a day wasted but almost. I tore the horns off, because the weird one just wasnt working so I tossed it, and I tried to just make a mold of the good one and cast it. Well that went terribly as the horn got stuck in the mold material and tore some chunks off the horn when I tried pulling it out. So I glued plasticard chunks into the holes and filed it back into shape, luckily the damage ADDED to the overall look. So next time I'm just going to go super slow and grind a new horn using the good one as a template.

After that mess, I started on the power fists only to hit a wall on how to make the fingers look good. I started with sprue and used speaker wire as joints to figure out if I wanted the hands in a fist or open.

I thought I'd green stuff the knuckles on after I figured it out but they just looked bad. So at this point I I called it and went inside to pout. After a few hours it hit me how to do the hands
I'll make articulating fingers out of card, that way I can not only open and close the hands, so itll make the decision easier, but also have more mass to bulk out and scuff up

See the scale will be good, itll be a bit larger but not crazy. I'm also making thefingers out of thicker card as the one in the picture was more a proof of concept and sizing to the rest of the hand. It's easier and cheaper to bang that part out on thin card. And that's where I stopped. My back was killing me by then and I needed to start getting things together for the work week, but I didnt want to leave everyone hanging. I'm working on several things on this guy at once right now, the hands, the horns, soon the nose job as well, and still tossing ideas for the super bosspole thingy as well. I've got a few ideas that I think will really add to the bosspole and make em pop! So for now, I'm leaving everybody on a cliff hanger because after today I feel like sitting on my couch and playing a video game for once lol

Small update with no pics, this weekend was a crazy one with tools braking and needing me to repair or cobble and way too much family stuff, not to mention my garage isnt air conditioned so it was 90ish all weekend lol. But good news is I did FINALLY figure the hands out, I even got 1 robo hand about 1/4 of the way build, it needs some bulking up but otherwise I got it! It only took me 2 whole weekends of banging my head against the table to figure out just what the hell I'm doing. So hold tight, possibly during the work week but definitely this coming weekend I'll be able to hammer out some hands on this beast!

I also fixed the horns on his helmet while waiting for things to dry, so theres that too. Cheers folks!
