He has visions of the future. Unlike visions conjured by the ruinous powers, his come's from the geneseed inherited from his father, Konrad Cruze. He was his squads former apothecary, before the heresy. His father kept calling him prophet, even before he started receiving his visions. He seems to have no interest in the dark gods, evident after he refused gifts from them them when he was abducted by Abadon.
BTW Ineptus, I can't really continue my post because of lack of scope.
In here sure but in the 'Tomb Sanguinus' we are all enemies. there is bound to be some backlashes. Also in retruspect why would a Chaos lord care about a single Raptor your fighting against yourself now.
I thought nids had acid blood as basic, in any books I read that they were in. Like in Alien. I think it would be gak cool if they all had acidic blood.
Anyway, I can't post until Ineptus continues that conversation
well ye all Nid should, and do have acidic blood if you look into their background from the Necronomican VI by Hans Rudolf Giger. which is where the origins and both the Tyranids and Alien series started.
I think the bigger beasties like the fex's and tyrants shoud be able to corrode away a few centimetres from power armour, and go right through flakk and carapace
While the smaller gaunts and the like should only be able to singe flakk armour, but cause severe burns on skin.

What? I'd thought we'd confer as equals and debate the choice, we're both Farseers, and while Eluna has been present on the hulk longer, that hardly gives her seniority over yours.
the Warlocks have to listen to her though , but she'll most likely ignore them, she doesn't like them, due to the memories of her mother they bring, as i've posted before, Eluna and her mother got on like Orks with table manners. (Never well, but politely)
ineptus astartes wrote:well...SOMTIMES the baddies win (they do alot in 40k)
We are ignoring the greatest evil, ultramarines . Aside from that not really, Abaddon has failed what 11 times, Tyranid fleets get wiped out by Marines like its going out of style, and well orks arent bad guys, just fond lovers of saturday nights.
but they will win eventually (the timeline in 40k is known as 'the end of the imperium')
but that aside you are right it seems to be a fundamental law that the 'good guys' win, I guess all we can do is cause as much collateral damage as possible before the end.
Cool man, quick question though. Are other people coming to join aswell? Like Uza, the atrementor, that kick ass dread, the exalted?
Or is it just Talos?
mainly Talos and First Claw, Ninth claw (the Bleeding Eyes), and The Exalted (but with reinforcements from several other Excommunicate legions: World Eaters Death Guard, Black Legion, and Oracles of Change)
No, the Exalted is the egotistical daemon prince, who is unmatched in space combat. The dread is the former first captain. The one who got that blade from the blood angels, can't remember his name though. But he has a TL autocannon.....awesome
Would your nids be able to talk? Or would you make it like pshychic pulses by the hive mind that makes it seem like they can communicate? Or would it be just a lot of screechs and clicks etc
so far i havn't done any talking, but I might do something like Psykick communication, which With the Psykers in my NId's force will be able to communicate with other races via this Psykick conference.
Well as we are both making the desicions Lord Harrab, I am interestedin your verdict of the Matter of an alliance with the Tau? I have given this desicion a deal of though and am willing to agree if you see that it is a worthy cause.
To be honest, as the minority factions, the Tau and Eldar would probably benefit greatly from an alliance. While Krieg's character would probably disapprove of it at best (grudgingly accept it), Harrab's Farseer would probably be much more accepting and approving of it.
I wasn't arguing that though. I was saying that genestealers would rip him in half if he went wandering around on his own. So ye Terminators are strong and tough but Genestealers are stealthy and in human in their strenght.
well wondering around looking for Eldar there are only four of us and a huge space hulk, your unluikely to find us and there are probably genestealers running all over the place.
I seem to recall Cain saying something about Genestealers having ripped a Terminator apart before, but we are arguing semantics. And yes, an alliance would be for The Greater Good(Everytime I see that line I can't help but think of the group in hot fuzz saying it)
pffft What 4 eldar? A Night Lord warship, filled with traitors from over half a dozen legions are between you and the eldar. I'm feeling pretty confident.
You have confidence in your "Allies" heretic. Bands of Traitors who are merely after power. They have betrayed one master, and you think they won't do the same to you?
Like a Bolt of Psykick force in the Elderitch storm that is this war, the Eldar shall strike, peircing the heart of the Chaos forces and bringing your legion to it's knees.
Sister of Krieg wrote:Well as we are both making the desicions Lord Harrab, I am interestedin your verdict of the Matter of an alliance with the Tau? I have given this desicion a deal of though and am willing to agree if you see that it is a worthy cause.
Agreed, The Eldar shall ally with The Tau, they have skills and firepower we lack, I'll get the ball rolling in a sec with a character post.
Its kinda opposites attract isn't it? Tau= Short lived non-psykers Eldar= Long lived Psykers.)

"Their defeat is not a matter of when, but how."
Kind of, though both are about the greater good of their respective race(lets face it eldar would doom a solar system to save a handful of themselves.)
but if you look at it in that respect all races are fgighting for the greater good, which for them is there own existence/universal domination. I'll make a new Nid post soon but just so I know (due to genestealer reconisance) where is the largest gathering of life forms?

Mr GM sir, is this a role play? or a game of apocolyps?
I am struggling to get a grip on how we are supposed to play... virtually every moment we have more troops joining...
Ineptus, this is aimed a bit at you you are currently leading waht amounts to a CHAPTER of chaos marines... you are bringing in Named characters who CAN'T die... you own a Titan...
I would understand a chaos warband 20 marines could disembowl an entire Guard regiment... you have something like 20 dreadnaughts!!! it is getting a bit rediculous... a swarm of 3 million orks makes fluffy sense as all that matters is the top 200... the rest will disapear or destroy themelves if the WAAAGH! leader dies but how do you justfy such a "growth" in your forces?
I might as well as my next post say I am bringing the entire Space Wolf chapter as well as the ENTIRE Titan legion...
And of course the 13th company will come back lead by Russ himself and stomp all over your ass... but I don't I am bringing the forces of a strike team...
Mr. GM this is getting way out of balance and unless cirtain restriction are put in place I fear the RP aspect of this game will disapear...
I thought I was overdoing it with 10 terminators and about 25 marines. But Ineptus has 4 or 5 different warbands AND what seems like 2 entire companies of Night Lords.
yeah actually if you had read the whole thread there is a lot of apocalypse style battles (and because people can kill others underlings) (aso the idea with CSMs is pretty much the same with warbosses [besides we are EVIL])
(and there are almost 100000 guard here along with a massive amount of SMs as wel as the fact that even if I add another 1000 CSMs the imperials woud still hold the advantage by a longshot, so please stop trying to derail the plot I have been making for my character OK?)
(also as gorskar said. His WAAAGH!!! contains billions of orks. so many he cant and them all at the same time)
sorry if i seem like I am flaming (internet speak is not easy for me)
I am just pointing out that if anyone DOES want to bring in more troops they can (the IG shot up from 10000 to 100000) and gorskars fleet could populate a planet
and the IG and Navy is not controlled by a player...
neither is the Imperial Fists company that has landed...
the same as there are unknown chaos forces on the hulk also controlled by the GM...
...as for the epic/apoc battles they are a backdrop to our players actions and quite frankly if I and a team of my Terminators waded through 500 orks mowing them down it has no impact on how the story will play out... ditto with the stealers/gaunts... they are in most fluff considered to be too numerous to count and be in unending supply...
the KEY members of the ork/IG/Tyranid swarms are actually only a handful of individuals...
you control a SWARM of individuals....
again 20 Dreadnaughts? be realistic... I doubt there are 20 chaos dreadnaughts left in existence!!! and they are insane!!!
400+ chaos marines?? 4 chaos marines would be enough to virtually a IG Regiment to route!! 40 could take out an entire Planets PDF with Naval reinforcements...
how then can mere IG captain with a company under his command (100 maybe 200 men... ) hope to feel that his character would have any impact on this game? ... against a horde of orks it is a different story... his character can show true grit and hold the line while all around him Armageddon takes place... maybe he can get in a lucky shot that might main or injure a ork warboss... he can make a difference... against 400+ chaos marines, 20 dreadnaughts and feth knows what else…
and the orks are not that different from CSMs anyways. the inquisitor controls thousands of guardsmen and space marines
You are aso exaggerating the CSMs power) if I recall it took the entire chapter of night lords along with heavy armor (landraiders, rinhos ect) too take out a defunct temple of the callidus.
I doubt it was the entire chapter. They were broken after Konrad was assassinated, and captains from the different companies stole anything of value and legged it. CSM are they greatest warriors in the universe. More experienced than a loyalist, and with dark gifts.
ineptus astartes wrote:no. it dosent (it is ten dreadnaughts)

Marcus controls about 100 men ATM, the guard forces for the assault are technically under the control of the GM as the actions done by them will mostly take place in an upcoming event.
Plus I think your underestimating the power of the callidus. Those are the guys with the ability to morph to look like anything else right? With the guns which melt your brain? With the swords that ignore all armour and shields?
but honestly? if you had said you controll 10 000 cultists + 30 or so varying CSM I would be fine with that... I can wade through a sea of cultist blood and not make a dent in you forces... but how do I make an "Epic Last Stand" with 10 Terminators against what to amounts to 4 SM chapters entire complement and still keep a sense of "realism" going?
I am finding it difficult at this point though to decide how to even go forward from here as I either detroy myself and you by attacking you directly or castle up with the rest of the IG and wait for the hammer to fall...
ineptus astartes wrote:wonder when the inquisitor will find out that his tent is filled with mutilated corpses?
He probably won't bother.
Either that or tonight.
By the way, several different characters are playing in different time zones within the game. I've seen some at a week into the Hulk attack, some a few days, some perhaps on the first day still.
I'm going to rule that by tomorrow we will say that we're a week into the Hulk attack (from the Imperial PoV). Everyone had better get roleplaying and finish up what they're planning to do currently so that their characters' can phase back into the new timeline ruling.
Any time that doesn't get covered by roleplaying will just be said to have been filled with "menial" tasks and events..
(darko. I live in a country where internet is only in the major citys and I go to my family's village and go trekking alot what would happen to my character if i did so?)
So that means everybody's going deeper and deeper into the hulk, because i had thought tht the imperials and the orks were just kind of holding their lines for now...
It seems that the forces of Chaos are making strides though, and even the spehs mahreehns too..
Well, I know what Warklaw is going to be stomping next.
ineptus astartes wrote: (darko. I live in a country where internet is only in the major citys and I go to my family's village and go trekking alot what would happen to my character if i did so?)
Either myself or another player would be given custody of your character to "look after" him for as long as possible. Death in such situations is highly unlikely. Leaving for one day however rarely causes a problem.
I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with the words "Fright Cords"
Srsly though, its been much to long since Warklaw had some fun, time to test out his "enhancements"
/is a surprised devil-cat
I thought you'd be after someone a little more.. hated by your character.
And when I say hated, I don't mean the usual sort. I mean hated as in utterly despising the existence of a certain person, to the extent that sacrificing puppies and kittens to the Dark Gods to achieve aforementioned persons' death becomes an option.

Considering Warklaw doesn't now where Charkos is at the moment, has your usual ork attention span and is severely pissed at being put in a big hunk of metal, he's prone to take it out on whoever is in reach....
Surprise! Who else has been running around killing my boyz besides the imperials? Besides, when Charkos completes his dark side transformation, Warklaw will have plenty of chances to kill him while he's taking care of any other chaos boyz in his way.
Well I saw what I was wading in for, and I wanted to be that guy who's just trying to get home in the midst of a hellish warzone, I mean I will probably have more NPC's but first I will have to go through hell to find them, but ya, a chaos force numbering as large as ineptus originally had in a hulk with a billion orks and probably half that many genestealers seems a little unlikely(but hey its your call, if GM deems a certain Tau commander kills you who am I to care )

Well in all fairness you didkill most of my Cadre.
You know, I just re-read the first line of my IC post and thought "How counter productive, my character was at HQ sorting out the mess the ambush caused, then he went to his tent, then went back to HQ"
thts why he has a lot of them...boy I wish Kardum was alpha plus (but Alpha-plus psykers for their abbilty to summon thousnds of greater daemons or snap a titan in half have a tendancy to be possesed by one of the chaos gods themselves
(kardum is beta under alpha wich is under alpha plus. beta is sstil immensly strong and such individuales are usually executed on site for the safty of the imperium)
well my gaunts are going out for a field day enjoy. I have made it so you can all beat the second wave, but make the fights amazing, and don't make it so that you come out unscathed as that many gaunts will deplete every force. P.S: if there are any character that need to be killed off you can make epic deaths for them.
also just for continuetys sake I am telling you beforehand that the daemons are forming the first line of defence against the nids (so no CSM on nid battles yet aside from the havoks)
oh good my nids get to shred some fictional beings and the only reason the necrons and being foght by the nids are that my nids are spread everywhere on the hulk as they come into contact with enemies.
as Demogogon said "I care not for the lives of daemons." he is useing them to buy time to seal up the ducts and erect barricades. (I am wirting a batte scene ATM. but dont worry certain berzerkers have a lust for blood and staying out of the fight dosent appeal to them)

Dear Lord, you guys are power playing now like there's no tomorrow. I was having a hard enough time keeping track as it was.
Because of all this crazyness, I'm calling a halt in play for those concerned in the main battle so that hopefully this weekend I can begin to sort it out. The event may over-write some of the power play being dished out here, but I'll keep most things the same.. but do them differently.
K...I just posted a bit where i blow up my ship and run away to another part of the hulk though...ooops (I conveniently made it only a small plasma reactor overload as not to kill main characters but two of my NPCs are dead now including my psyker who sacrificed himself to khorne to be possessed by a bloodthirster)
What is it with you and destroying my Space Hulk, ineptus?
You've created a warp rift in the main cavern whilst there's a shadow in the warp that prevents said warp rift from ever existing and blown a ship up for no real reason that I can see.

Got it, I apologize for getting so epic in scale but I don't really have a whole lot of options when it comes to my character; he's thirty feet tall for feth's sake! What's the point of being a huge friggin orky killing machine if I cant make stuff go boom?!?!?!

Yup, now please do me a favor and predict me up a fate where I systematically defeat every faction aboard the hulk by beating them in an arm wrestling contest and afterwards crashing the hulk onto said nearby planet and doing an orky can-can on the planetary capital...
Just think of it as Darkvoid shutting it down for repairs for a little while, there is an awful lot of things for him to keep track of, especially with the newer players posting so often and with such huge forces involved.

My only problem with large numbers is sending them out to do things instead of doing it for yourself :/
Yeah, everyone please PM me with the following (try to be as detailed as possible, a few well written paragraphs should suffice):
- Your remaining forces and their exact locations.
- Your casualties sustained in the battle.
- Your plans for the immediate future (ie, what you want your characters to do)
- How your characters view the others as well as the significant NPCs that they are respectively aware of.
This, in conjunction with the recent roleplaying, will be the material I use to plan and write out the event.
