I still don't get the weapon choices. It's such a big, bulky, brutish looking monster. It should have heavy, chunky melee weapons, not those dainty claws and all of those shooting options. I'd have preferred to have it with a big spiked mace or jagged hammer of some type. Claws are OK in theory but in execution, they look much more like the muzzles of some gun then actual claws to me.

I saved the old rules pdf just incase they did change it, it has indeed been cranked up by 10 points, side armour up to 12 from 11 and heavy conversion beamer rules added. Definitely can't see any other refinements on comparing the two. Though it's probably worth noting the heavy conversion beamer is the only weapon choice which appears to be limited to one, and at BS3 that's a 50/50 chance of hitting and it's the same price as the contemptor's heavy conversion beamer which fires at BS4 which already makes it a lot more expensive than the other weapons choices.

I dunno the butcher cannons look pretty good to me, or maybe I'm just biased, shameless plug for my painting and modelling blog the last post in there is of the assembled decimator with two butcher cannons, which unlike the FW official pictures are actually in a firing position not pointing at the ground which helps them look a lot meaner.

The Decimator Siege claw rules are slightly different now as well. The claws offer a re-roll on failed pen rolls rather than 2, pick the highest.

The wargear options are still overpriced and the base cost is still too high.

Another reason why these points don't make any sense.

Contemptor: Replace TL-Heavy Bolter w/BS4 Heavy Conversion Beamer for +35 points.
Decimator: Lose a heavy flamer and 1 attack and gain a BS3 Heavy Conversion Beamer for +35 points.

Does not compute.

I agree. The point costing appears to have been copy and pasted off the Contemptor, from the base cost to the wargear costs. The thing is that the Decimator is structured differently from the Contemptor and thus should not use the same costing.

Yeah that really is bad then I just glanced at the loyalist rules, hopefully once they're no longer 'experimental' and get worked into a book they'll get it right though I wouldn't hold my breath.
