When you and I had talked about it, it was more like breaking up two Myrmidon boxes to sell off matching pairs of specific armaments like the Combi Rifles, Boarding Shotguns, etc.

I need a model, unfortunately this model is only available in the Ariadna Starter Set and i already have 4 out of the 6 models. The model i am after is the Chausseur with rifle and i really do now what to have to buy the whole set just to get one model and then have 4 duplicates.

i already have the 3 Vet Kazak (1 old, 1 HMG, 1 new) and their avaiability is only 2, but when the kazak sectorial comes out that should increase, so maybe another one isnt such a bad idea.

If you don't mind a bit of converting another option is to get one of the ADHL chasseurs and give it a rifle. I was in the same position (lots of kazaks from the blisters) and caved in a bought a cheap starter from e-bay for the chasseur. I then ended up converting one of the spare line kazaks into a second 'chasseur' using one of the spare light flamethrowers from the old vet kazak blister. Although i hope i'm not doing Mr Konnit out of any business here.

Shae said over on the Infinity boards he is no longer going to sell it, since nobody buys the other models.

For good reason too, since they're all available in blister format

And honestly, ignore the statement about the ADHL Chasseur. It is a godawful model with a godawful pose and a godawful amount of converting that would be required to make it usable as anything except the ADHL Chasseur.

If you want to field a Chasseur with any of the "Rifle" loadouts there are a few good options which are cheaper and less stressful than acquiring a Chasseur.
1) The Dozer Campaign Engineer with Traktor Mul Control Device. This one sounds odd at first, but remember that the Chasseur are professional soldiers in the MRRF not just goombas running around with hats on.
2) The Foxtrot Ranger with Light Grenade Launcher. He looks like a scout, is posed like a scout, and would definitely work as a scout. Remove the barrel from the LGL and replace it with one from a loose rifle and it looks more like he is carrying a "customized" rifle than anything else.
3) The standard Metro carrying his rifle is a good one as well.

To a lesser extent, you could use the Intel SpecOps...but be warned that he is rapidly becoming as hard to acquire as the Chasseur is.

Hmm, this guys is just like the Chasseur In fact, if anything he's even worse! The thing that makes the CA starter so awkward is that damned Charontid! Nobody wants the stupid thing The Vanguard from that box are also fairly unpopular; I still have a whole bunch of them I need to shift from previous splits, and I've given up on selling any Charontids. Only way to get rid of them would be to sell them for a lot cheaper, but then that means it's pointless me splitting the box :/

It came from my original name, Cho-Konnit, the name of a very successful character in an RPG my pals and I used to play.
Cho-Konnit was a vat-grown soldier called a Stormer, "Xeno" class, and since they've been grown in such numbers the lab technicians just give them daft names.
Too many people assumed it was something sexual, but it's actually from the scene in Day of the Dead when one of the guys gets jumped by a pack of zombies when he opens a door - they tear his legs off and he shouts, "Choke on it!" and I thought it would make a cool name
That some people jumped to the conclusion that it was sexual says more about them than me, I reckon

Honestly, you're better off just buying the Corregidor box.

SK does a good job, but he is going to end up with a shedload of Alguaciles.

Buy it from him though, so that you still support him and his endeavors.

Ok, after some discussion on the official forums I have the following proposal; some of the models in certain boxes are a lot more desirable than others, so what do yous think about increasing the price of those models by, say, £1.50 and reducing the rest by that same amount...?

For example, the price of a Sin Eater + Mk12 would be £6, and a Moderator from the same box would be £3.

Also if there is stuff you are having trouble moving maybe you could put together some deals or bundles? Not sure how feasible that would be in terms of profits. I can imagine people would be inclined to snap up batches of extra models for their factions though if they were discounted. Maybe even groupings aimed at people who want to try out Infinity, a sort of discounted lot that will give you enough to play a few intro games with a friend. Just thoughts.

Yeh i meant like 3 models from each of two factions. Something a beginner could grab as the cheapest option, take to their local club and play a quickstart game. Not sure how cheap it would have to be for that market though, they might require too low a price for it to be plausible from a business perspective. To make sense I think it would have to be groups of whatever miniatures you have left over.

The other thing I meant was a sort of grab bag styled format but obviously more expensive. Something like a faction/sectorial specific bag, you get a few non duplicate models on the cheap for whatever faction is available. This would require quite a large quantity of stock turnover and stuff you need to get rid of. It would allow you to offer the more desired miniatures though as the others from the box could be put into the bags.

As long as they could choose a faction, there were no duplicates and the price was enticing. That could be a tall order, I haven't crunched the numbers. Yep I think this could work. I can't say from your perspective Shae, it depends on how many you'd sell, stock turnover and profit margins, but here's my consumer point of view.

I'm kind of part of the target market, or at least I would be if I had more disposable earnings, so I'm in a reasonable position to give my opinion. I'd say that £20 would be a price point that would have me jumping to attention and checking my bank balance to see how many I can afford. It's also a price point where I'd consider 'throwing one in' with a largish order. It's £2 a miniature which is substantially cheaper than normal so I know I'm getting a sweet deal but I know I'm sacrificing choice for that price. That said the mystery almost completely turns that negative into a positive. I also know that at the very least I've just bought and amazing conversion kit for my army, at most I've bought a whole army. Great deal either way!

As I say I can't say much from a business perspective but in terms of general principals I think 10 miniatures is the quantity sweet spot on this. If you can turn around enough bags then you might be able to justify £20 a bag but I suspect it'd have to be more. I wonder how £25 would go down, it might be just a little too much psychologically for what is kind of a risky impulse buy.

I'll work some numbers and see what I can realistically fit into £20 and still have it worthwhile.

Failing that, I'll try for £25

It won't be a lot of models mind you; the starter boxes are pretty damn good value for money, hence why the individual model price is so low when I split them

Ok, I'll get round to this shiz eventually but working off the 2-player intro set how about some different levels for different budgets?

1: two teams of 3 LI and 6 D20
2: two teams of 4 LI featuring hmg/sniper or whatever and 6D20
3: two teams of 4 LI featuring hmg/sniper and a starter box of tokens and 6D20

How does that sound?

Also, here's another ides I'd been toying with; buy a unit box or starter box, add a few more quid and get enough resin MAS Urban War bases to fit them all - cheaper than buying separately.

Getting a unit box and MAS bases from the same provider sounds a good deal to me. I shall pass a word to a friend.

I do have a question, will you be doing Dire Foes split sales? MAS bases with Dire Foes? Though it's far too early to know what exactly will the package contain, I do have few community members that expressed disappointment of not being able to purchase just the model they want.

If I'm selling just the models I reckon I could do them for £8 each, but there is the issue of the artwork that comes with them; would anyone like that?

The prints are a bit of a problem, it depends on how big they'll be. If they are postcard size, I think it should be OK.

If I charge £3 for the artwork, or £1 a piece if there's one for each character in the box, then the price per model would be reduced accordingly to £7 each.
That's if folks would buy *just* a bit of art :/

I cannot for the life of me imagine that art to be even remotely as popular as the models. Especially those of us just wanting a fig here and there aren't generally going to be interested in art prints.

Especially when there is not a great variety in the art.

From how it appears, it is simply art prints of the boxes which is kind of "meh".

@Barzam; I usually just send the items out as soon as possible
For Nomads vs PanOc, it would be the either Fusiliers, Order Sgts or Acontecimento Regulars for the PanOc, and either Alguaciles or Moderators for the Nomads.

Thing with those starters is, though, that even aside from models only found in them the starter boxes are usually a very good deal; buying a 'separate' blister of line infantry, as this effectively does, then makes that a useless purchase.

If folks are really on a budget I'd say proxying is best; anything above that, the boxes are probably better...

Not to say it's not a nice idea, but with CB's current sales model I think it's actually going to bite new players in the ass when the actually get into the game proper

I don't really have a problem with having multiples of certain units. Plus, if I wind up with doubles of certain figures, I could always try swapping parts and make them a bit different or paint them to represent different loadouts for a specific troop choice, like painting one as a team medic for instance.. I enjoy the modeling aspect of the hobby more than the gaming aspect anyway, so I'm cool with having a few extras to stare at on my desk at work or something.

Just adding that I got the doc Shae, and very fast. I think it got here in under 2 weeks, which from the other side of the pond is amazing. I've had deliveries from New Zealand take longer.
