I don't really care about the dice but I really want the lasgun powerpack dice holder. The servo skull tape measure too.

Reading the objective dice description it sounds like we'll be having a lot more types of objectives, which is neat as well as a "mysterious objective". Maybe that means you won't find out what the objective is until turn 3 or 4 or something and then you have to scramble to get it. Could be fun.

I am also very curious about the tieredd objectives, as well as the sound of new mission types. May make the game fun again?

Thanks again man

So are we assuming that these new types of powers are in addition of the current codex powers? I fail to see how Eldritch storm or mind war could be classed as Divination or Telepathy. I'm not familiar with WHFB so don't know how the lore's work there.

The templates and skull tape measure look stupid IMO, but the descriptions for the other little bits sound interesting. They suggest there will be primary and secondary objectives and "mysterious objectives". This sound's like there will be plenty of new scenarios, which can only realy be a good thing. The vehicle dice look very handy, and seem to confirm a lot of the hull point rumours and the +1 vehicle damage result after a pen.

I'm a little dissapointed by the collectors edition, I was going to treat myself to it but it looks pretty underwhelming, especially when you take the massive price tag into account. It will probably be the Gamer's edition for me too.

Maybe the psyker chart is addition to their normal powers? For Daemons to not have any psychic powers at all is off...

My first thought was that you wouldnt know until you claim it. This could lead to some funny "Whoop's, looks like that objective was actually a bomb" moments

Not really, Thousand Sons in the current codex have very expensive Sorcerers and still have to buy powers.
But now they can pick up one of these powers presumably for free.

Also I suspect that in the new Chaos Book the codex will list which lores each Mark of Chaos can use, and Mark of Tzeentch could probably give access to all Lores.

The rumours are, you can choose to buy your normal codex powers, OR pick one power from your allowed Lore.
As for Daemons, they don't use Psychic powers now so there is no need for them to have access to these.

And then again maybe not

PS A gamers life can be lonely as it is, are we all supposed to carry handbags now ?

Yeah that was what I thought, Daemons (and to a lesser degree Orks) having none just seems wrong. If they are all extra powers that could create some interesting new options for some of the older armies.

I think the american price was around 75USD, so I expect it to be somewhere in the region of £45 for us across the pond.

Someone (on Warseer, IIRC) transcribed the page which contains a description of how to gain the powers for Blood Angels and Chaos Marines. For BA, a psyker can either choose two Codex powers, or choose two Rulebook powers. For Chaos, they gain one Rulebook power for every Codex power they purchase.

If anything, Thousand Sons just got a decent little boost, if only for a month or so until the Chaos codex comes out. Orks do suffer from it, but their powers are supposed to be random every turn anyway, so I can't see how it would have worked. I think this method is probably the simplest until Orks get a new Codex.

Daemons don't use psychic powers in their own Codex, anyway, so they lose nothing. It's not wrong at all; GW made a conscious decision with the Daemons codex to make their "Daemonic powers" very much distinct from regular psychic powers, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that they don't gain any psychic powers from this.

Looks like we've moved past the mystery of the cover for the new rulebook.

Please continue the discussion about all the other things in the appropriate thread - thanks!
