Finished watching Chaos:Head. (Well, S1, E1-12, not sure if there is more outside of Netflix). Interesting, in a mind-screw kinda fashion. Didn’t really bring enough to the table to counteract the amount of WTF? it generated. Would not recommend.
Started watching Gunbuster. It's so 80's! But also really, really good, so far. I'm impressed.
I was going to watch Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, but apparently only the first 4 episodes are available on YouTube. Might look around to see if Funimation has the rest on its main site.
And no, the Netflix one isn't the same. I'm watching the one where they don't have wrists.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Gunbuster, you're like, 40 years old! Why do you have so many feeeeeels!?
So, was using the crunchyroll random thingy, and ended up watching the first episode of Cuticle Detective Inaba. I have no idea what is going, but I don't care.

Chaos;Head is by far the worst of the 3 science adventure VN adaptions so far. Steins;Gate is by far the best of the 3 and sits somewhere in the top 10 anime I know. Robotics;Notes is pretty boring at first but gets better. Still better than Chaos;Head though.
Fairy tail is fun. also, a friend of mine suggested...umm, I think it was "elfen lied" what's anyones opinion on that?
in other news (shut up I'm telling everyone) I've lost six kilograms of weight, yay me.
tho unfortunately my going to the gym most nights is eating up my anime time, oh well I guess everything in moderation as they say.
I know a lot of people use their mobile devices and watch anime while they're working out. Gives something to do with your brain while your body is working.
And elfen lied is... potentially problematic, from what I've heard. I don't recall specifics, but I think it's kinda NSFW for some reason.

The plot is divine, everyone I know that watched it loved it to hell and back, expect MASSIVE gore. Ridiculous quantities of blood and ripped members. It's like an anime of the 80s, only with better animation. And boobies. I know, THE HORROR, how dare they show boobs!
It's a Men's only Maximum security prison. For special performances if the prisoners are literally all on good condition they'll bring ladies over from the neighboring women's prison, like when they did Gangnam Style
Their version of thriller is legit.
CthuluIsSpy wrote: Ok, I might be heretical, but...isn't the plot to Kancolle basically the same as Nobunagun?
Hmmm. Not a bad call, though I'd honestly say Strike Witches is the better comparison, and as someone who liked Nobunagun, I think KanColle's executing better. But the former's more srs and the latter's a moeblob so take that as you will.
Today i'm interested in 'Arslan Senki' or more likely 'The Heroic Legend of Arslan' (which seems to be the older version.
I'm rather curious in both versions though. It sounds a whole lot like 'record of lodoss war' with a sort of d&d style to it and i love that and that show.
Anyway more 'parasyte' will be watched soon. This show is fantastic. It's totally what i enjoy. If only more episodes would come out sooner but sadly i'm stuck to one new episode per week. I'm still surprised it took so long for this anime to get made considering how old the manga is (it's from 1990). Well it's being made now is all that matters i guess.
I (reluctantly) caught up with gundam build try. I can't believe it's so much worse then the first reason. It's straight up BELIEVING IS POWER anime now. I caught up in the faint hope there would at least be some cool new-ish mechs in there. But alas, it's G Gundam (the worst gundam series of all time) combined with SD Gundam and... I'm done.

On the bright side, Death Parade is amazing,
after watching gundam build, i'm sad that try went the I win because i really really believe it will happen route
So, I watched the first episode of elfen lied. I demand that all of you do the same.
So far, I have three things to say.
numero ouno: That was the most brutal thing I have ever seen in anime, I want people who say anime is for kids to watch it.
numero dou: that was some mother-fething intense intro.
numero dreh: Amnesia=adorable.

I haven't seen Elfen Lied. Because I am a big baby-man.
Oddly enough, I have seen Higurashi no naku koro ni, which follows the same sort of idea; cutesy moe kids getting brutally murdered, accompanied by well written character arcs.

Never saw Elfen Lied either. Not my cup of tea, I hated the thing after episode one and what happened to a poor character.
I read the manga, though. Feth, I gave up around half of it, when a big flashback happened. That gak was far too fethed up and sad, that was the point I said "Ok, this is where I draw my line."
And exactly like you, I saw Higurashi and loved it.

They're not actually ended per se. They're taking a break for now from Movies to restructure their company, though to what no one knows as of now. Take this with a grain of salt however, as the trailer for a movie concept they currently have is not hand drawn it is animated. :/ (To me it isn't the same.)
So I've been watching Akame Ga Kill, and I'd have to say I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The main characters are likable, the action is pretty good, and it's not over the top anime like a lot of anime.
Basically it follows a group of assassins trying to topple a corrupt government with the help of X/48 "Imperial Arms", weapons capable of great feats, killing in one cut, cutting anything, becoming more powerful the more the user is in danger, etc.
I'm only on episode ten, but so far it's a solid 8/10 experience.

Akame ga kill has a massive problem. The villains are all far more interesting and likable.

As of right now, I disagree; Wave is the only one that really seems like a stand up guy dragged into a team (I've only seen him in two episodes or so though). The Mad Scientist is literally every Mad Scientist stereotype thrown together, Esdeath is a creep, and the police girl can go die in a fire.
Finished Elfen Lied. my soul is broken.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to paint every single surface in my house blue and never ever think of the colour red again.

Okay, focus on the interesting part then.
I must agree with Soladrin. I hated the "heroes". I was rooting so damn much for the villains.
The Pyro is the sweetest and most gentle person, Wave is like the main character but actually cool, Esdeath is so EVIL it's awesome (and Evil is Sexy), the police girl is like a female Judge Dredd (JUUUUUSTICEEEEE!!!!), the Mad Scientist is hilarious, the Angel is a level-headed dude and kinda nice... the one who's a bit more dull is Akane's sister and that's it.
Frak, how I love the evil team, I wish there were more characters like them around.
It's a sad day when the big bad Sociopath is a more sympathetic and endearing character than the heroes of the story.
I'd disagree about Akane's sister. She is initially less interesting than the rest of her little pow wow, but as members of the Jaegers start getting knocked off I think she kind of rises up to be one of the most interesting characters in the series (way more interesting than her sister), particularly how things end with her and Mr. Angel.
Brent was the coolest character on the good guy side (and Susanoo) but we know how that went.
well, I read the Elfen Lied manga in one one sitting today.
Now I can't sleep.
and my soul is dead.
and my heart is crushed.

You mean other than the fact he's admitted to burning down entire villages full of civilians? The only "good" Jaegers are the angel dude and Wave. The rest are mass murdering sociopaths, and they all get what they deserve.

He was a good guy who did bad things. He wasn't a mass murderer like Zank, and he wasn't a war profiteer like Esdeath. He was a dude trying to support his family via the military, much like how Tatsumi is trying to save his village.
Bols did questionable things, but he did them for the right reasons. Doesn't make him good, but at least makes him sympathetic.
He Burned Down Villages Full Of Children And Other Civilains. That is not "questionable things". That is a War Crime.
Tatsuni went to the Capitol to support his village, but when he saw what that meant, he didn't go Meh and join up, he took up arms against the the system.
If I blew of a school full of children so I could collect the insurance money and take my wife out to dinner, that does not make me a sympathetic individual.
Hell, even Wave and angel dude are merely complicit to the acts and not all that "good" on the scale. For all Wave's own goodness, he knows what they've done, but basically accepts it because they're nice to him.
The Jaegers are not good. They are villans. They just are interesting/entertaining to watch villans.

Choose one:
-Blow up a school full of children.
-Refuse, be killed, have your child sold to slavery, and your wife raped to death.
As has been shown in the series, the minister takes whatever he wants, and he gives to people who do well by him. One of his commanders voiced his objection (In one of the single digit episodes, not sure which) and the Minister had him killed and told him "Don't worry, I will take care of your wife to the fullest extent" heavily implying what that extent was. That was a commander, not a soldier like Bols.
Given that choice, you bet your ass I would have made the same decision. I'm willing to bet you would have to.
On the deal with elfen lied i haven't watched the show really but i have thought of some hilarious moments to make fun of the whole show.
First off you have a guy main character that most likely falls in love with an slowed amnesia ridden bi polar psychotic dog/cat girl.
You have the weird incestuous relationship between two of the main characters.
Basically i wanted to make a joke that the Diclonius are a result of the japanese having sex and possibly marrying dogs/cats. I would also do a quick flashback to lucy seeing that dog get brutally murdered/beaten by those boys and basically imply that one or more is getting it with the dog and that's the reason for the blood.
Is it horrifying? Yes. Would people probably laugh at it? I think so. That said some of the more diehard fans would probably get mad but i'm ok with that.
I was not expecting that. Throughout the entire series I thought for sure The Emperor's eyes were going to be opened and he would wake up, rather than be executed. Could have sworn that Tatsumi's Sword was going to be one of the lost Imperial Arms, which is why he was capable of doing such tremendous feats right off the bat. Also....
gak, why did EVERYONE have to die?!? Not even the main character had plot armor, for Christ's sake....
It's no Top 5 material, but I would totally put it in my top ~15ish. Definitely better than Asura Cryin' because it had the balls to stick with it's tone all the way through.

Well, I guess there are worse ways to spend Valentine's Day than with a bottle of Fireball and rewatching Ouran High School Host Club.
Also finally broke down and got a crunchyroll and funimation subscription (stupid computer isn't booting properly) so I can finally watch Good Luck Girl dubbed, which is pretty good so far.
I spent all of V day reading a manga that my brain thinks is really good but really just isn't but is really wierldy compelling that I've been talking about for a while now.
And now I am feeling lonely. anyone suggest a good, soul-crushing anime?
Voices of a Distant Star is a master piece of ripping out your heart XD It's really impressive for something that one guy basically threw together all on his own.
So any recommendations for anime that are heartwarming but won't trod on your heart like a discarded banana peel? At least not without saying their sorry and making it up to you.

Not Elfen Lied.
maybe, ouran highschool host club? or...uh, crap I don't know any other happy anime.
Grey Templar wrote: So any recommendations for anime that are heartwarming but won't trod on your heart like a discarded banana peel? At least not without saying their sorry and making it up to you.
Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (first thing that came to my mind)
Eden of the East (+ Films)
I would have also proposed Suzuka, but now that I've read the sequel manga.... Not so heartwarming anymore.
IDK, so many anime/maga end in downer/bittersweet endings. Lots of series with heartwarming moments, but many of them don't end well. Japan doesn't like happy endings
The anime/manga is about some teens (and young adults) from Japan who come together to form a Band (Beck). The series features LOTS of references to music and is mostly a coming of age story about the main character.
It has its downer moments, but overall the series I think is one that focuses more on the good of growing up than the bad.
hmmm. Not too big into music. Could be a little boring. I really have to buy into a setting.
Man, I wish there was more Ah My Goddess.
It would be nice if more Anime had better endings. Or at least wrapped things up at all. It seems like every other anime has non-ending or a half-assed one.
I literally hate non-endings. they disturb me to no end.
Hell if I feel like drawing something everything in it must have a purpose, a beginning and all. ambiguity creeps me out. Honestly I think I would be less tortured in an actual torture room than forced to endure many half-endings.
I hate them.
Absolutely freaking detest them. At the same time, I also find totally-happy endings under-whealming unless all of the characters have EARNED it.
I like bitter-sweet rap ups, or a really good happy ending.

Asura Cryin is pretty good, it's a bit brutal, and I find the tone shift right at the end a bit jarring but it's quite good for all of that.
You're Under Arrest is really enjoyable in all it's forms if you're looking for something more light hearted.
The Seven Samurai rip, Seven Samurai is decent as well, and if you're okay with a VERY Japanese RomCom I'll never not recommend ToraDora.
For brutal and earning it with a complete ending? Blast of Tempest.

Natsume and the book of friends (Natsume Yuujinchou).
Golden Time as well. Its heart warming. Perhaps a bit too much for some but thats down to taste. It also wraps up quite well which is partly why I enjoyed it as much as I did.

You're getting your hands tattooed?
Thats gotta be exceptionally painful.
He's a big guy
It was really more a reference to the hands being one of the most sensitive areas on the body. Tattoos hurt like the dickens even when they're put on a relatively non-sensitive area like the back. On the hands they'd probably be almost unbearable.

Well the tone gets a drab more serious, but for the most part light and sweet.
Speaking of Episode 8's title is "I'm not a Hotel!" so confirmation for Yamato FINALLY showing up in the anime!

Neither really. It's just that the pacing is bad, the kills are repetitive and there isn't any reason to invest in the characters. The kills are even predictable on a larger scale, they just try to rely on being sudden to have any impact. It's all the equivalent to jump scares in bad "Horror" movies, no substance to it.

And you can tell exactly when they're going to happen because someone will have just given an inspirstional we can do it speech.
Attack on titan's porblem is that each characters has a single distinguishing quality and that's it. they don't really have personalities. it makes it so it isn't the least bit shocking when they get eaten.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping to hear. Been needing something light.
Also, I am so hoping they continue animating the next JJBA series. The first three have been so good.
I just watched Wasurenagumo. What started out adorable got depressing, pretty damn quickly. Great animation though. I'd love to see what whoever made has done/will do.
I've been reading a lot of manga lately, rather than anime.

I'm kind of weird in the fact that a good 90% of the time (probably more), I prefer manga to anime adaptations. I'm a big reader in general (really fast as well), so I have always had my own ideas of characters' voices, and it's always a bit weird for me to hear something different. Plus it helps me avoid bad voice acting and animation.

I am hardy, and a manly man amongst men, I would accept the extremely lethal task Darling has set for himself. Though I'd solve the issue a lot easier because I'd go straight for the harem option in the name of interspecies diplomacy and good will.
Or just get used to the concept of a mostly vegetarian diet.

I think everyone would choose that option Last I checked there was a spider girl too and she was damn cool. Be sure to find the hentai/ecchi 4-5 panel comic strip (or Yonkoma) that were the inspiration for the full manga (IIRC). They are cute and funny.

Wait, that's where the series came from? Seriously? Huh. Might have to check that out, now.
You know, after watching Redline and a bunch of AMV's for it, I really want it made into a series.
That animation, despite being 6 years old, is still some of the best ever made that I've seen, the action was really good, the story was really the only thing lacking.
Though I've heard it took 7 years to animate it......
I stopped my current stuff and plowed through the entirety of the No Game No Life anime yesterday. Was fun for the concept alone, even if a bit unoriginal in execution. The single season was enough to sate for me.
In other news, I know Testament of Sister New Devil might be as stereotypical as it comes, and it's not even as good a "harem fantasy fighter" as Worldbreak, buuuuuuut Maria is quite possibly the best comedy character I've seen in an anime in a long time.
Well I watched all of school days.
Wow.
Just, wow.
the tether deserved it, but the pregnant chick didn't. Crap.
I mean, wow.
I'm going to watch kampfur now because I need happy.
I went to the anime club today and(Along with having some pretty hot chicks) we watched anime. Two I have seen, two sucked and where rom com/slice of ife. But death parade is pretty awesome actually.

I would respond with another picture but I really like this thread and don' want to risk the mod-hammer.
that joke was terrible.
Has anyone else watched school days?
I've heard of School Days. That's the one with the unlikable characters and the guy getting decapitated in the end, right?
Not sure I want to watch it.
It's pretty much eleven and a half episodes of "I hate this" five minutes of YES! YES! CUT HIM! YES! five minutes of NO! than thirty seconds of wait, she's hugging....that's his... Oh my.
I wish that had taken the time to edit the card backing into a Magic the Gathering card.
Stormwall wrote:Finished FMA Brotherhood, I want to watch some of the movies now.
There are only two that I know of. Conquerer of Shambala (sp?) is a direct sequel to the original FMA series. I forget the name of the other one off hand but it takes place somewhere in the middle of, while also outside of, the events of Brotherhood.
Finished up K-On!!, and watched the movie for the first time as well. I just re-started welcome to the NHK.
Automatically Appended Next Post: It seems the best way to describing NHK is a man progressively digging himself into a hole, in order to dig himself out of a completely different one.
I watched a chunk of Bleach. Eventually I just gave up caring about the main characters. I liked the captains/lieutenants of the soul guard squads (whatever they were called, it’s been a while) but there was too much filler and dragging to keep my interest.
OMFG, I was so fething excited and overjoyed with Ninja Slayer I didn't even notice the other animes. I didn't noticed the second season of Knights of Sidonia. FREAKIN' KNIGHTS OF SIDONIA!
OH GAWDS, NEXT SEASON IS GONNA BE SO FRAKING GOOD!
Mhm... all in all, looks like spring isn't going to have much I care about though. Ninja Slayer and second season of Diamond no Ace seems to sum it up.
I don't know if you could really call it "Anime", but a friend of mine loaned me the first series of RWBY. I think I'm going to end up watching this all at once. It's pretty dang amazing. Apparently a lot of people complain it's way too cliche to a "high school drama" (whatever that is). I don't really watch any anime at all so the cliches are all new to me, which helps a lot.
I liked RWBY just fine, it was cute. Reminded me of flash animated fight scenes from waaaaay back in the day taken to the extreme. And well actually I guess the fights in that ff7 movie were a lot like that, ridiculously efficient actions flowing into eachother etc. Fun to watch anyway.
Finished Fate/Zero. Yeah that was kind of boring at the end. Whole series seemed to have no point(seems like a theme honestly) and while some of the fights were pretty cool, there was a lot of icky show guts to get through to get to them. Maybe I'm 'missing the point' somewhere along the line, but meh oh well, it wasn't terribly long and it wasn't all bad.
Also watched GitS Arise 1-3, eagerly awaiting the 4th installment to arrive on the netflix.. though then I'll just be sad when I'm out again.
Gotta find something else to watch on Netflix, having trouble digging up anything that looks palatable that I haven't watched though... mostly vampire this highschool that, more than one occurrence of both together... bleh.
It's dangerous to go alone, take this, especially if you want some things to watch.
Delicious post, thanks for this. I rarely watch any anime movies and my knowledge about them is close to 0 so this list is a big help. Oh, and this GIF is a delicious 40k inspiration material, LOVE IT:
I planned to take a short break from NHK to watch a show that looked interesting (toradora). I have now nearly finished it. This is my first just strait up romance anime I have watched, and it's pretty damn good. Although I do spend a lot of time yelling at the characters.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I also just started reading silver spoon, and apparently there in an anime adaptation, so might check it out. It's the same author/artist who wrote FMA, and I absolutely love her style.

It's what someone who has never seen anime thinks that is what anime is like.
So, I guess everyone here missed the main point of RWBY. The creator was a MASSIVE anime fan and made it as a parodoy series stuffed with all the tropes, which they nailed. That said, the animation quality at the start turned me off so much I didn't bother watching most of it until a couple of months back.
As for Monty (the creator), he was the creator, main animator, 3d modeler, voice actor, writer and more for that series.

Yeah, most definitely. RWBY wasn't so much what someone who's never seen Anime's idea of anime is, but rather, a Western Anime fan's take on Anime, told in a medium that's rarely seen in the industry. You can kind of tell there were some growing pains in adjusting to 3D vs 2D, especially in the execution of some of the standard Anime techniques, but it was really growing into its own as a series. It's terrible that Monty died before getting to finish it.
Hoping that new Ninja Scroll comes out sooner than later
Yoshiaki Kawajiri is awesome, a new Vampire Hunter D would be great too.
The new Ghost in the Shell movie is coming out in summer too which thankfully has a different art style and general direction than Arise which I barely got through.
I.G needs to pick up where Solid State Society left off.
Yeah I rather liked Arise's artwork. My issue was the change to the Major's design from a tall athletic woman to a fairly small and slender one. At the same time though, Arise felt like a reboot that was in part telling the story of how the Major became the Major, so I was willing to go along with it.

Same here i honestly though it was a prequel to the rest of the series.
Motoko's wasn't too bad, but all the other Section 9 characters looked terrible compared to Stand Alone Complex/Sac 2nd gig.
Apparently the new movie deals with Motoko's development and origins before the original Ghost in the Shell movie yet after Arise hence the younger adult look and less younger teenager.

I'm glad you enjoyed Toradora, it's one of my personal favorites, and the only romcom to make my buy list. Silver Spoon is also excellent. You will spend some time yelling at the characters.
In other news The Testament of Sister New Devil seems to be an experiment to see what the studio can get away with on TV, it's just about hentai and half the episodes are covered in censors. Which is a pity because the characters, while relatively boiler plate, manage to still be endearing, and the plot's interesting when the... ahem... plot... isn't getting in the way.
In Monstergirl News (the only news worth talking about)
Okay, I find Celty and Shinra adorable and sweet, but that's just freaky XD
Is it wrong that I immediately thought of kinky stuff when I saw that?
I think I am an avatar of Slaanesh...
No mate, believe me, that wasn't exactly what I thought about when I read "Dullahan GF" either.
I blame it on the many years of hentai and because I'm a pervert, not because of Slaanesh
Anyone else following Death Parade? Because this anime is starting to really doing a heck of a massacre on my feelings. No need for people fighting to have an intense anime because that one, wow.

Anyway, started Kiseijuu.
Pretty good show so far, giving me plenty of memories of The Thing.
Parasyte is a fantastic show (the show's english name). Btw i sent you a pm or two and apparently in the dakka xcom thread i died. First one dead there and i implied my character making the sweet loving with your female character ;P.
I find it odd we generally have all the same tastes in things. Have you seen 'monster' yet? I watched half of it but what i saw was great although a bit overly emotional in some scenes. The scene with the abused boy and his step-dad though was very emotional for me. Seriously not much has struck such a hard cord for me emotionally in a show but that did.
Oh and i'm pretty sure parasyte was somehow influenced by 'the thing'.

Seiken Tsukai no World Break. She is also his body pillow.
Maya's probably one of my favorite characters this season. She's actually useful, genre savvy and takes the wind out of the sales of the annoying pink one with a snap of her fingers.
Without spoiling anything, I kinda like how it very much does treat it's characters like they are in high school.
I'm sitting here with about 70% of the show going "NO! NO! NO! NO! YOU DUMBASS, YOU'RE GOING TO GET YOURSELF KI- GOD DAMNIT."
Spoiler:
The girl with the glasses lived even though she seemed to be idiocy incarnate.
Spoiler:
It was some other part, later on (I'm on episode 19 now). Though admittingly, she had a crush on the guy and knew if she exposed him and was wrong about it his life would be over. It still wasn't very smart, but you can kinda see how a kid would think it's a good idea
Yeesh you must be about caught up to where i am about now. Chances are you'll be even farther along when i get to watch the last two aired episodes.
It's such a great show isn't it. I'm glad i found it before most if not all of you. Now i'm curious about 'world trigger'. It sounds a bit like xcom but more about middle school kids so probably not as good and more anime-esque but still totally worth watching as i can't get enough of xcom.

Bye-bye, Akagi-senpai and Kaga. Obviously Fubuki does a bad job escorting you. I wonder if they will get to the Battle of Cape Esperance where Fubuki sinks. So many ship-fus sink in history that I am starting to think it was a bad idea to have some.
I'm currently working my way through Attack on Titan. At the start I really didn't like Eren, but I'm warming to him. Mikasa and Captain Levi though? Awesome.
My next AOT themed Imperial Knight, Mikasa or Levi... Such a difficult decision.
Just had a mental picture of the AoT crew trying to take down a knight. If you used stiff wire, you could probably suspend a mini with the mobility harness thing looking like they are slinging around the knight, looking for a week spot.
Might be a fun project (for someone with more skill/resources then me)
I dunno... I'm not sure an imperial knight is the right target... maybe a Ken doll? You'd have to take it's clothes off, of course, but then it would be anatomically correct for the Titans in the show

Honestly I don't think they're going that route, I don't believe Fubuki escorted the Kido Butai, and part of her Kai Ni upgrade is an AA Director unit. So it's probably gonna get fething tense, with Akagi taking some serious fire at the end of ep 11, and the pulling through at ep 12 for a victory with Buki in the lead, and Admiral waiting for everyone on their return from a "successful" battle of Midway.
It bothers me that this year I have strated doing my homework and going to the gym just as I started to get into anime. Oh well I have two weeks of holidays soon so I'll watch more anime then.
Its nice to see that my "theory" of there being two Owls was correct!
Usually I'm very bad at predicting what will happen next.
Was that not something we were supposed to know? I mean I figured that awhile ago, and they even explained it a couple episodes ago. During this fight I was just thinking oh man, it's taking you this much effort to beat the "peaceful" one, and it's just gonna piss off the other. Although I did not expect that immediate of a comeuppance.
I haven't really looked yet. There's this one hospital one that looks kinda interesting from a perversion sense, same guy who did High School of the Dead. I'm guessing CR won't pick that up though.
Personally I'm very, very much excited for studio's Trigger's next anime, the story is so 80's ridiculous and over-the-top it HAS to be awesome:
The story takes place in the cyberpunk metropolis of Neo Saitama. After his wife and child are killed in a ninja turf war, salaryman Kenji Fujikido gets possessed by a mysterious ninja soul known as Naraku Ninja. As Naraku's craving for massacring the evil ninja overlaps with Fujikido's lust for revenge, together they bring Ninja Slayer – a terrifying ninja-killing grim reaper - into existence. The more their mental resonance and physical symbiosis deepens, the more powerful Ninja Slayer becomes. If Fujikido completely surrenders himself to Naraku, he will be unstoppable.
Knights of Sidonia Second Season makes me VERY happy too, I loved the first one. True, the animation was horrible when it started but it kept getting better and better and better.
The pervert one concerning "assassin nurses"... yeah, totally gonna try to watch that, that's so crazy it might be fun. "I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job" had huge amounts of fan service and was fun as hell (and beautiful, damn, it had so much color), I need another like that.
Impossible for me to get into Knights of sidonia, it looked worse then RWBY. As for Trigger's next anime, yeah, that and Diamond no Ace season 2 are about it for spring.

She was getting real stalkerish later on. I suppose i have sometimes but she wrapped the main character's hair around her finger. It was getting pretty bad. I mean it was starting to get real wax statue with pieces of trash creepy. I feel bad but she needed to calm down a bit.
Just finished watching episode 22 of parasyte and these are my predictions for next episode though i'm surprised the main character hasn't pieced it together.
Spoiler:
Illegal trash dumping and the idea of a use of a flamethrower. Umm why not burn the trash dump. The old lady even hints at it sometimes catching fire. That should easily be enough to take out gotou.
As far as my opinions go so far.
Spoiler:
Pretty crazy how much of a bad ass scary dude gotou is. Also holy crap the politician was human and the sex moment.
Gotta say one of my favorite parts was when migi drove the car at gotou off the hill. Migi driving was hilarious from the front of the car. Somehow it looked like a sesame street puppet driving the car.

Right now my top 6 is pretty much what I'm watching:
Death Parade
Gundam Try Fighters (Best, Gundam, EVER! The Voltron Gundam was so magnificent, it even had cheesy 90's music when the 3 mechs combined)
Kancolle
Log Horizon 2
Aldnoah.Zero
World Trigger
I'm saving up "Durarara!!" to watch all of it in one sitting. It deserves it.
Ok, check this out... the transformation scene. Unfortunately this episode didn't have the cheesy super robot music yet, only episode 22 and no video in youtube yet :(
And the fight, oh man, the fight was so damn GOOD!! SHOUTING the name of your moves, special over the top moves, the pilots screaming each other's names as they cross punch each other, arms being blown up, mechs almost reduced to a torso, damn, this episode got me so DAMN HYPED!
I'm always entertained by overly long transformation or powering up scenes. The enemies are so polite.
"No, no, go ahead. Get more powerful so you can defeat me. I'll just wait over here and not attack you."
Co'tor Shas wrote: I'm always entertained by overly long transformation or powering up scenes. The enemies are so polite.

That's the thing!! THAT WAS THEIR PLAN! AND IT FAILED!
Spoiler:
They attacked the mechs as they were combining, the plan was to finish them off as they combined but the attacks were blocked by a barrier. The enemy main pilot even said to them;
""You tried to mess up our combination scene. You have no shred of romance or aesthetics!""
Look at this face. this face that one pilot had as they fought "to the death"
Spoiler:
This gak was KLK levels of intense, it was so God-Emperor glorious!
I really need to start watching that one. As one of those oddballs who doesn't enjoy Gundam anime except for G-Gundam, I imagine it'll be glorious.
A buddy and I started going through TVTropes "Anime by the Decade" lists, pointing out all the ones with fantastic plotting or scenery porn. We're probably going to make a list to start watching. It's going to be hilarious, because I love Gloriously 80's series, while he's more a fan of 90's Anime stylings. I might have an answer for you after that.
DukeBadham wrote: Started Arpeggio of The Blue Steel...I am enjoying it more then I enjoyed the manga.
Also...whats the manga series people most want made into an anime? For me its Girlfriends by Morinaga Milk, I just love that series
There's this one Manga I read a while back- a couple of shorter, self-contained story arcs set in the same universe with the same basic premise, that would probably make fantastic movies (animated or live action- might actually prefer the live action, even), called BioMeat. Scientists developed these... things, that ate anything organic and budded off more of them, and they were made out of meat. But, as you can probably guess from the 'eat anything organic and make more' bit, things don't go well.
Currently my favorites are Log Horizon, Durararax2, and an older show called Sket Dance.
I'm always looking for a new show to check out.
Draconic, I definitely agree on watching Durarara in one go. Did that with the first season and tjd first 8 episodes of season 2, and man I'm sitting here looking forward to Saturday at Noon (EST) for the next episode.

This sounds like it came from the same minds that made robots more sentient or to breed dinosaurs in a park with increasingly less safe protocols or the evil corporation in the aliens series (i.e. idiots).
So I watched an anime and liked it, then I looked into the manga a bit, and found a bonus chapter that ruined any positive feeling I had for the anime. I actually feel kinda ill.

Honestly, they had these things in a giant concrete pit where they dumped the trash from super-high up, and harvesting was done super-carefully. If the whole think hadn't been handled like your typical Hollywood Zombie outbreak (I.E., "That can't possibly be eating people and turning them into more of itself! I'm going to have a closer look!") it would barely have been a story at all.

WHAT HE SAID!!!
Look. You all are going to judge me for this one, but I binge watched "My Wife is a High School Girl" last night. Despite some painful portions, and a truck load of cliches like most ero-manga adapted into anime, but over all it was silly, and the MCs actually behaved like a rational couple thrown into a strange circumstance... mostly... which made me kinda happy. So I went looking for the manga so I could see what the canon ending was, but the scanlation team quit at chapter 35 out of like 147. The last work they did before vanishing into the ether in 2011 was 35.5, a bonus chapter consisting of a rape and lead in to more rapes for the female lead. A. really not my kind of porn, B. if you make a character well enough that I like them and invest in them, then kinda off hand deliver a rape scene, not as part of the plot but for the hell of it, I will hate you and your creation.
In other news that you guys will judge me for,
Testament of Sister New Devil is paying off quite well as we come to the end of the season. For an ecchi harem that doesn't so much flirt with the hentai line as sloppily make out with it, it's actually pretty good, the characters are fun, and the universe it lays out makes sense for most of the "dirtier interactions". The censoring team is probably the worst enemy here, which will certainly drive DVD/Blueray sales up in Japan, and make it a wildly popular torrent here. So far the ending is quite satisfying, and is presenting a few tropes and cliches in a manner that is enjoyable at the very least. It's certainly no Infinite Stratos in the sense of being the mental equivalent of junk food, addicting and mind numbing with a powerful sating affect, but all the same surprisingly good. This season had a lot of harem fantasy action adventures, and I found Testament and Aria of Curse to be pretty good.
Judgement? Concerning Hentai / Anime tastes? AH, don't be absurd. We all seem to be grown ups here and we manage to distinguish reality from fiction
Interesting to know, I went ahead and checked the chapter and I guess it doesn't matter to you, but canonically the rape never happened, it was all a dream of hers (not sure if you "rage alt-f4ed" before the end).
ehh yeah what mkmy fellow lord said. porn is a form of entertainment, if you like it in your general entertainmnet so be it. Personally, I don't mind fan service, though over the top does bother me when I'm watching osmething seriously.
If the porn has story to it, and is supported by emotion or situation, it morphs into something that adds to the story, as opposed to something you 'suffer' the story for.

So, for some animu that only Draconic and one or two more people might appreciate, my analysis of Episode 11 for KanColle, and predictions for the upcoming finale.
Serious whack job theories/ excessive spoilers for KanColle in here:
Spoiler:
So this week's ep treats us to the opening of Midway with it playing out much how historically it happened, with the 1st and 2nd carrier divisons being caught in a trap by a U.S. Naval task force. It's slightly different because Akagi and co have different escorts, including the battleships Hiei and Kongou, but Kongou and Fubuki are awaiting the arrival of the main task force from Truk with Yamato.
We're treated to these two images:
So we have three shilouettes here that are VERY important to the next episode. For those who aren't up on their KanMusu silhouette identification, Shoukaku and Zuikaku are the two with Yamato in the launch bay, which is important because 5th Carrier Division are some of the most advanced standard fleet carriers the IJN has, but the silhouette on the cliff side looks VERY strongly like the Armored Aircraft Carrier Taihou.
For reference, this is Taihou:
So that is a significant amount of naval airpower that's enroute from Truk, more then enough to overwhelm the Abyssal carrier task force and rescue 1st and 2nd CarDiv and their escorts. So where did all this naval airpower come from? It's elementary my dear Watson! The Admiral faked his own death/disappearance while leaving Nagato his warplans for Operation FS, which he knows Nagato can handle on her own, this allows him to shift and reallocate resources quietly with his freedom of movement. He can go to 5th CarDiv's base, fake their repair reports and move them to Truk, even quietly move Taihou into position. Only Yamato, the assets moved, and the girls assigned to the Truk fleet will know, and while under radio silence, none of them will be able to leak the "surprise" carrier task force the Admiral is "appearing" out of no where. In other words kids...
Now have some nice music to relax you after what was still a brutal episode:
I can only hope you are right because DAMN, THE gak HIT THE FAN SO DAMN HARD!
We'll see if they rewrite history with a IJN victory because it doesn't look that good. Awesome episode, really, my heart was beating a wee bit faster when they started the attack, knowing what happened there.
Gotta hand it to the studio, I never thought I'd enjoy KanColle this much. Adding the flavor of real WWII events was a genius touch.
That's DMM and Kadokawa for you, they work it into the game in a decent manner, albeit the girls usually get a chance to change history and win in the game. Like I said, we KNOW that Yamato (who historically was at Midway) sortied with ships that weren't at Midway or even nearby. So did the actual Kido Butai. Kongou and Hiei were with the main task force, not escorting the carriers. Ditto Yuudachi and Fubuki. So history has already changed. Significantly so most likely.
You know, I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job is a surprisingly fun little anime. Annoyingly long title, though.
On the bright side Fino is absolutely adorable.
Spoiler:
I really like that when Raul tried to undress her and she got mad, but he explained why, she understood and forgave him. You just don't get enough of that kind of common sense in this genre.

I became a big fan of that anime. Fino is absolutely adorable, the humor is fun and like I said many times before, the colors dude. THE COLORS. The anime is so colourful, it's a treat.

In more KanColle news, got Yamato in game last night
Spoiler:
Congrats! I wonder how much of a *FANGIRLING* reaction you had when you got your ship-waifu I'm trying to get a piece of her too, but in my case, it's on the World of Warships.
CthuluIsSpy wrote:Is Unbreakable Machine Doll any good? I found some clips of it on youtube, and it appears to have my kind of humor.
It's pretty damn good but it has a very abrupt ending. Outta nowhere, really. Gotta wait for a season 2.
The action is very cool, Yaya is adorable and a bit Yandere, the other machines they fight with or against are very cool looking too and I was enjoying the plot. The humour has plenty of ecchi and fan-service.
Oh, and the ending song is ridiculously good. SO, DAMN, GOOD.

Interesting to know, I went ahead and checked the chapter and I guess it doesn't matter to you, but canonically the rape never happened, it was all a dream of hers (not sure if you "rage alt-f4ed" before the end).
Oh dude I rage quit hard. Rape is one of those things that stirs up the killing need, and I knew you all would be cool, I was just joking.

Don't feel bad the whole rape thing disgusts me in any background. I still have issues with the depiction of a scene in model form with the pre-rape pose of an eldar woman topless with a guardsman approaching her with his belt undone.
I was also horrified by this one hentai that i had previously seen a music video or similar for. Can't remember the name right now. It was one of those magical princess type girls and though the normal sex in it was hot in typical anime form a japanese girl has about ten seconds before getting raped and/or tentacle raped in a hentai esp. if she's attractive. There was also this part in the show where women and men were mind controlled via tentacles up their butts and lady holes and started having a mass orgy in an audience. Can you imagine that? Basically it was like a city hall or school auditorium and they were all gang-banging in it. Pretty much every person if i recall correctly. Also post-rape the female protagonist (which must be raped so frequently people know she's been raped again and about to be) went on top of a water fountain and i sh*t you not cleaned out the tentacle rape man jelly from herself and slopping it down onto the water fountain. As if i didn't already have issues drinking from a water fountain before now i don't ever want to drink from one again.
Ok, I said I knew there were two Owls and stand by not even realizing that was something that wasn't meant to be obvious. However, I will say I had no idea the second owl was that writer chick. I did Not see that one coming.
*is convulsing on the floor* And I fething liked her character too! and then, aughhh!
Hang on!
*unpauses other tab and watches twenty seconds of postcredit*
Someone explain please. I'm too busy being broken to figure it out.
Oh yeah, the ending is really sad. Not in a bad way, but a good, happy way. I think I talked about it in the old thread.
So, yeah, the ending. Basically Kaneda, and eventually Ontonashi get reincarnated and meet up together in the world of the living. Ontonashi stays a bit longer in the after-life to help other souls along.
I always love seeing people going through Angel Beats for the first time. Everyone thinks its going to be happy. Then Ep. 3 happens and you better just buckle up for the roller coaster

ahem*
KANEDAAAA!!!
(I have seen nothing of Angel Beats. Just had to do it).
Otonashi is a young boy living in the afterlife with no memories of his life before his death. He joins a school organization called the SSS whose mission is to fight against God.

I cry every time I go through Angel Beats. I managed to acquire the soundtracks and "My Most Precious Treasure" kicks me directly in whatever I have that passed for a soul.
Beautifully done, but I can't help but feel it didn't get the time and space it deserved to truly deliver on it's whole promise.
Side note, who's pumped for the Gate anime?
Automatically Appended Next Post: CR just confirmed they've got rights for Nisekoi Season 2. Finally. I actually really like the anime and it's visual style, and I want to freaking see who wins! (probably the tsundere blonde, because that's what usually happens in these situations, but here's hoping for the better options)
I don't really see what's so great about angel beats. It maybe an above average story in somewhat interesting setting coupled with pretty boring audio and visuals.
Angel Beats is a character driven story with characters I don't see myself caring. I cared more Senkutse in Kill la Kill than the girl in ep 3 and Senkutse is a shirt.
That was the most tragic shirt related... thing...ever, mad feels. Yes for a shirt.
I guess I'll play an episode of this Angel Beats everyone is speaking of, however I do not expect it will be my thing. We'll see, been branching out a bit more lately.
