If I win, I'll trade it for my weight in gold. Deal?

Depends how much you weigh. If you're a highly evolved hamster, then deal. If you're just some run of the mill "human" probably not.

Screw taxes. Seriously. They make GW look cheap. It sucks that we're getting fined for being lucky.

You get taxed on all prizes you receive, technically.

And still buying.

Meh, it just means I get a smaller tax refund next year. Considering what I tend to spend my tax refunds on anyway, I think I'm coming out ahead!

says on there site, "1 of 2 tickets found, 1 left"

However the rules, said
"5 randomly selected orders will contain a winning Golden Ticket along with details of how to claim the prize."

What am i missing? Should i file my law suit now? I placed 3 orders so far.

From the site: 5 randomly selected orders will contain a winning Golden Ticket along with details of how to claim the prize.

Interesting, I wonder if they had another fluff recon.

It could well be the tickets are split amongst GW regions?

Good call, that note isn't on ROW - English, UK or France.

Out of curiosity as to what exactly $65 or whatever you need to enter would cost, I visited the webstore for the first time since.. I think 2010..

Does anyone else find it annoying that any time you click anything the page snaps all over the place? If you want to look at bits.. and you check backpacks.. and then you want to look at vehicle upgrades.. you click that and it snaps back to the top and you have to scroll back down and uncheck backpacks..

Then if you want to clear all of the bitz it closes the bitz menu and you have to scroll back down and re-open it.
Didn't they pay some absurd amount of money for this webstore?

Yes the actual utility of the website is terrible. But hey it cost over a gorillion pounds so IT HAS TO BE WORTH IT... right? right?

Tickets are split among regions. 1 Ticket a region.

And the reason you don't get the whole "i can send in for my free entry thing IS" it's not a sweepstakes. Rules are different.

lol..don't blame GW for taxes..blame the IRS.

I take that back...I'm on the US website, and it says 1 out of 2 tickets found... so I'm guessing there are two tickets for NA? Then again, I don't know what they define as a region...

So the other NA ticket won't be found until the last day of the promotion, just so everyone keeps trying, right?

does the golden ticket pop up when you order, or does it come with the product you ordered?

Games Workshop competition - win a space marines height in miniatures @ 2015/02/15 09:03:06

Post by: Reavsie

It comes with the product.

All qualifying orders arrive with a black envelope with a card inside. Sadly mine wasn't a gold one.

Unless you live in a hovel with your loser parents and all your grandparents the chances of winning a remaining ticket are slim to zero.

Look up the legal definition of sweepstakes.... This is one.

Ah, well.... GW does hire legal counsel based on attitude, not skill....

Sadly, not me.
Although the ploy did work as I spent more than I normally would

Please tell me I'm not alone...

I got a box in the mail yesterday (ordered a box of Kroot and an ethereal as I can't seem to find them elsewhere) and I had a black envelope with a "you didn't win" card in it. However, I placed the order only a few days ago and didn't spend the required amount. Not sure what that was all about....

I have many of those cards now, many.

And have also received a card after the dates announced. I suspect they have a heap of unoppened letters and have to keep sending them out till all winners gave been found.

They said the last winner had been found in one of the WDD articles earlier last week.

More than likely just an urchin working in the factory who's been ordered to be rid of a pile of letters and is packing them into as many orders as possible to be rid of 'em.

Lucky you - you must be in the 35% tax bracket. If you're an American, they can't tax you at the VAT rate. If they do, pay it and file the paper work to get a refund of VAT taxes because you're not a citizen. You're the first person I've heard complain about getting a 65% discount.
