Sort by recently obtained, and you should see hatched eggs.

The problem is that the game engine does a gakky job of tracking distance travelled and applying it to the eggs.

I had searched through it for a while, they really didn't hatch into anything.

Both times however it happened when the eggs went to hatch but that bug with the power saver where you can't interact with the game happens causing me to restart the app to find the egg just gone. Was annoying, but somewhat avoidable.

I dunno. I had 2 eggs hatch last night, a 10k and a 2k. My phone locked up, of course, and I had to restart. But I had a 818 Electabuzz and a Caterpie as my newest animals.

Downloaded it a week ago, but only just last night figured out how to get the app to work with my GPS, so a late starter here.

Lvl 5, caught about 30 so far. Got my first egg, a 10km at that (wife is jealous).

Recommend you wait until you're level 15+ before hatching that 10km egg...

So, our Team Leaders are going to tell us how to fight better at the Gyms in the coming update?? Awesome.

Assuming the update makes its way to Android...

Except people have stopped playing. Which tracks the reduced posting in this thread.

Niantic did an amazing job of pissing off their player base.

All free games do the same, I expect. Get in quick to get the character names registered, then go back to it occasionally once the new-game-smell has subsided.

I drop by once a day when at home, to see if anything new appears (Mr Mime was silhouetted for a while).
But, I'm on Ingress now instead.

I haven't been able to log in since Sunday night. Not sure why. Screen just has the little ball going round and round untilt he screen saver kicks in or I stop it.

My phone is in an otter box and I am guessing that causes the gps for PMG's purpose act wonky and have heard they are banning people who don't have a steady GPS signal.

Otterbox should be OK for GPS, as it is made for use outdoors.
I think the servers are just busy. I get the swirly-ball most of the time now.

I was at epcot two weeks ago and I was constantly having to restart my phone to get the game to load and even then it was sketchy. It was evening and not super crowded. Really annoying since there were pokespots flipping everywhere.

My co workers have no issues logging on even from the same room I am in. I know I was always having a No GPS signal warning pop up no matter where I was.

Not this quickly, though. Most freemium games aren't nearly as Nintendo-like anti-player progress.

PoGo slows leveling down by vastly increasing XP requirements *and* vastly decreasing player capability in game. The 10 CP Pidgey that was an auto-capture at level 1 now likely takes several times more effort, and even has a chance to run away. Total BS there.

If the XP goes up hugely, fine. I've played games where you had to literally double ALL of the XP you'd earned from 1-99 to get to 100. But at 99, I could far more easily farm junk animals, even if they gave less XP per catch. If the high CP animals are hard to catch? Fine. If rares are harder to catch? Fine. Big, special monsters should be hard to catch.

But making junk animals hard to catch? At all? That's BS. It's profoundly unsatisfying, and a big reason that I don't enjoy playing the game any more.

The GPS and no login don't help, either.

I never stopped playing, I just quit posting because everyone else did. And because I don't feel like gaking on the game which is what the last page or two kinda devolved into.

It's way too early to be declaring Pokemon GO officially dead because they had a perfectly normal drop-off of users after the initial hype died down and the bandwagon-jumpers left because Pokemon wasn't the new, exciting thing anymore. Personally I don't think the situation is that dire, and I've been seeing articles and videos on YouTube that seem to suggest as much. 10-12 million sounds like a big, scary number, and disgruntled players are latching on to that, but if anything they're still doing better than expected, and the drop-off is not incomparable to what happened to other popular mobile games a month after release. Niantic has some work ahead of them, but Pokemon GO definitely has staying power if they do it right.

Post by: GrimDork

Yeah, and they're still adding useful features. The upgraded transfer/candy milling button makes the best of a tedious mechanic and the new appraisal feature is a lot better than nothing. If you're really serious about having the single best Pokemon you can possibly get you'll still want a third party app or site, but IVs have pretty much always been that way. At least now there's a decent built in option for a quick check.

Plus unless they delay it I think we're supposed to get Jhoto stuff in December right? Plus trainer battles and trading or at least one of those things?

Pokemon Go! (FAQ First Page/Now with Polls!) @ 2016/08/27 01:14:21

Post by: Sidstyler

I like the appraisal feature. It gives you a good way of knowing if you have a Pokemon worth investing in or not at a glance, without just straight-up telling you what it's exact IV's are, and if used in conjunction with Poke Assistant it's much easier to figure out what the exact IV's are, since the team leader's messages help narrow it down quite a bit, since sometimes you would get such a large range of possibilities it was really hard to tell which one was yours.

And yeah, trading/battling are supposedly coming, new pokestop modules are supposed to be coming, and Gen 2 I heard might even be out quicker than originally expected, so it could be December or even earlier than that. The game still needs a lot of work, there are still bugs and other stupid things that need fixing but it does seem like Niantic is listening to people. They also fixed it so that getting nice/great/excellent throws reward the appropriate experience again.

Yeah, that reminds me of something else I don't like: people with legit accounts being banned. Either their GPS is buggy and Niantic bans them for "spoofing" (sometimes my avatar just runs all over the place for no reason...I was sitting at my computer checking IVs when I got the message that I was driving too fast, for example), or they have a strong Pokemon defending a gym and donkey-cave players report them for botting/hacking. I've seen some people online saying they only stick stuff like Magikarps in gyms anymore for that very reason, because some players will see a Dragonite and report you for it just to spite you.

Which is another thing, I can't believe how many fething douchebags play this game. I've almost thought about quitting a couple of times because of people taking the "friendly" team rivalry too far.

Yeh I keep about 6 pokemon between something like 10-40cp just for putting on gyms. 28cp Pinser is the best ever.

But in good news I managed to find a Porygon as I got to work yesterday which was really cool after seeing the same old stuff over and over again for a while now.

Well you can roll up to where some people are training/beating/whatevering a gym and after they level it up you can just pop one of your own guys in there even though they did all the work. Rude maneuver and it's to your own team but people still do it, some maybe even unintentionally.

Pokemon Go! (FAQ First Page/Now with Polls!) @ 2016/08/28 02:14:35

Post by: GrimDork

So you'd be ok with spending several minutes or potentially more as the gym gets tougher in order to place your own guy (so you can later redeem your daily defense bonus giving coins otherwise bought for actual dollars based on your number of active defenders) and then someone else just wanders by and nonchalantly capitalizes on your hard work? At which point you'd have to train the gym even More to open up another spot?

I mean it's not like slashing someone's tires but its still a rude thing to do.

Pokemon Go! (FAQ First Page/Now with Polls!) @ 2016/08/28 02:17:15

Post by: Alpharius

Are you sure that's what's going on?

And aren't they 'on your team' anyway?

And can't you only put one of your own Pokemon in a gym?

Unless I'm misunderstanding here and you're talking about someone swooping in and putting their own Pokemon in *before* you can put one in?

In which case, yes, that's totally not cool!

Pokemon Go! (FAQ First Page/Now with Polls!) @ 2016/08/28 02:18:45

Post by: GrimDork

The gyms can only be so many defenders based on their level and in order to put more in there you have to fight your own friendly gym over and over nuking your battery and not catching any more dudes or balls. It can be a pretty good time sink especially if you're trying to put strong defenders in the gym because you'll then have to beat those again to make it even tougher.

Yah sorry that's what I mean you do the work and they just cruise by dropping into what should be your slot. You'll be off the screen and probably needing to heal your dude before you can place him so there's a vulnerable lag of time.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If someone from another team is taking your gym you can almost always capture it from neutral before they can add their own guy but that's team v team and I'd consider it fair play albeit annoying. But stealing a hard earned spot from your own team is lame even if it's not prohibited in any way.

That's so hard to manage or even realize - that's a flaw in the game itself, I guess?

I mean, sometimes you won't know someone else has done/is doing that - I mean, there's just no way to know, I don't think?

The fighting thing is so wonky. So many "Error" when I'm just trying to fight. It's an issue of not even being able to do the gym fight. And then a spot opens and you don't take it?

While I agree gym sniping is obnoxious that's why you should always have attackers and defenders. It just makes the transition period between beating the gym/prestiging it up and placing your own 'mon almost non existent. Although it's true if someone is waiting to snipe there is almost nothing you can do to stop it.

How is it hard to believe that someone is going to end up at the same stop as you in a small town and just happen to be opportunistic? Or obluvuous. I only ever brought up the concept because I've seen it complained about two or three times on the local PoGo Facebook group.

I dint think it's a real problem either, just annoyance, that thing about people reporting players and getting them banned sounds way worse.

Are you fighting in busy areas? I get an error and then booted out of the gym if someone adds a Pokémon after I've started battling it. I can't access the gym for five minutes or more.

I dunno how busy they are, but it's not like there was a mob of people playing. Maybe a couple other players working the gym? But yeah, Error out, can't play. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Total time waste for nothing. At that point, I'm frustrated and pissed enough to shut it all down.

That's weird, I've never had an issue when battling even in downtown Manhattan which were the busiest gyms I've seen yet. I'd be super frustrated if I couldn't battle due to glitches and whatnot.

I suspect a good portion of my issues are due to me having created an account on Niantec's site vs linking a Google or Apple ID.

The new buddy system they announced seems interesting, but will have to see how it works out.
2016. 9. 2
Go out and explore with your Buddy Pokémon!
Hi everyone,

It’s been a busy summer and, in addition to battling bots and fixing bugs, we’ve also been busy working on some new features for our Pokémon GO Trainers. As you know, we recently released the new Pokémon Appraisal feature, which helps Trainers identify which Pokémon has the most potential for battle. Today we wanted to let you know about a new feature for the game that is just around the corner.

The next addition to Pokémon GO will be Buddy Pokémon. You will be able to pick your favorite Pokémon from your collection to become your buddy, opening up unique in-game rewards and experiences. Buddy Pokémon will appear alongside your Trainer avatar on your profile screen, adding helpful bonuses such as awarding Candy for walking together. You’ll also have the ability to change your Buddy Pokémon at any time.

We’ve got a lot more in the works this fall. Stay tuned here for all the details.

Thanks,
The Pokémon GO Development Team

http://pokemongolive.com/en/post/buddy/

Certainly sounds like it'll be great for starters cause I refuse to evolve mine until I get the 125 to be able to get it all the way... I also started with squirtle yet theres just so many bulbasaur in the area instead.

Yeh they mentioned inexplicitedly banning accounts using third party programs which would have been unaware that those same third party programs were performing basically "DDoS" attacks on them by data skimming (or whatever other tech buzz words they wanted to throw at it), but then also inexplicitly unbanned those accounts as long as they knew they weren't intentionally doing that stuff!

2016. 8. 29
An update on Pokémon GO account bans
We continue to work to ensure the integrity of the game and the health of our servers by blocking unauthorized access and at times by banning offending accounts. This includes blocking bots, data scraping operations, and banning end user accounts associated with those activities. Some players may not have realized that some add-on map apps do more than just show you nearby Pokémon. Each end-user app can be used as a collection tool by the app creator, invisibly collecting and forwarding data to the app creator with or without the knowledge of the end user. These apps can have an effect similar to DDoS attacks on our servers. Because of this we have had to ban some accounts associated with using these add-on map tools, leading to confusion by some users about why they were banned. This is a small subset of the accounts banned.

As a result of some changes made to our infrastructure, we are now able to unban this set of accounts. Add-on maps which scrape data from our servers still violate our Terms of Service and use of them may still result in an account ban going forward. Accounts whose sole purpose was to scrape data are not being unbanned. Accounts which used apps or websites to remotely capture Pokémon, battle or deploy on Gyms, or harvest resources from PokéStops are also not being unbanned. Our main priority is to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate experience for all players, so, aggressive banning will continue to occur for players who engage in these kinds of activities.

I drove around a bit today an noticed much less pokemen in the area. I went to walmart for lunch and have always been able to find a half dozen or more before and didn't see any this time.

I wish they would specify what apps were causing issue. I am not running any map apps or end user apps even remotely related to this game. So it would be helpful for them to let us know whats out there.

What you are seeing is the inevitable post-launch nerf, as they rebalance to make anything that was "easy" into something much less so. This is why it is always important to start playing at launch, rather than after all of the good stuff gets removed.

Pokemon Go! (FAQ First Page/Now with Polls!) @ 2016/09/07 11:45:04

The thing is a post launch nerf like this tends to kill your game in the end as people lose interest as you continue to ignore issues or apply bandaid fixes to try to keep at least some of the people happy and not deal with things.

When will the tracking system be fixed?

Here's the buddy system!
2016. 9. 10
Buddy Pokémon and other updates in Pokémon GO version 0.37.0 for Android and 1.7.0 for iOS
Trainers,

Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.37.0 for Android and 1.7.0 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.

Implemented Buddy Pokémon: Trainers will now be able to choose one of their Pokémon to be their buddy. A Trainer can earn Candy for their Buddy Pokémon by walking a certain distance.

Made it easier to select smaller Pokémon on the screen.

Fixed an issue where Eggs would sometimes hatch without displaying the animation.

Improved performance reliability when a device switches networks to no longer cause the application to hang or stop updating.

Pokémon GO Plus support

Minor text fixes.

We continue to focus on eliminating bots and scrapers from Pokémon GO. Rooted or jailbroken devices are not supported by Pokémon GO. Remember to download Pokémon GO from the official Google Play Store or iTunes App Store only.
