Hover - ignore the difficult ground trait, can move over terrain pieces lower than 2" tall without losing any movement.

Fly - ignore all terrain, move over any terrain without losing any movement

Aircraft - as now.

Why does Hover need to exist? Why can't Monoliths just FLY?

Because leapfrogging buildings with a strong model might be a bit much

Yes, we have Magnus, but depending on the opponent he's doing 10 mortal wounds - the monolith will do a similar amount of damage or more depending on the target unless there is a good Gateway target. Their melee is about the same with the exception that Magnus wounds everything on a 2. Slap on a chronomancer and the monolith is about the same cost with better toughness, save, a bunch more wounds, dumps a bunch of models in the opponent's face, and deepstrikes.

It definitely has a hard time getting around on some tables, but again - deepstrike is an option. I feel like it would be better served by a middle ground ignore stuff 2" or less like mentioned above.

I could see the "ignore terrain of 1 or less for movement" rule raised to 2 for all TITANIC units. A super heavy walker could just step over, a tank could just drive over, and something like a Monolith should just float over.

Even with FLY Monoliths cannot hop over a building, they cannot even hop over a 1,5" tall fence without advancing, now that they don't have FLY they need a 4" advance to make it over a 1,5" fence like GW's barricades that were popular in 7th. At best Monoliths can hop on top of a building and sit there and hop down next turn, Magnus hops over and charges turn 1.

8" on the monolith now, but point taken.

I could get behind that.

I missed that, it's kind of huge to go from 6" to 8", I thought you mistyped earlier. I do have a Monolith list I am intending to try, I could be surprised, but I don't think any units have surprised me yet, Chronomancer a little bit maybe, I didn't think he'd be as good as he is despite only buffing one unit.

The Monolith goes 8"/6"/4"

I felt the same about the Chronomancer. Now I don't leave home without him.

Yeah, I think it would fix the issue. That would get TITANIC units over anything that qualifies as a barricade, but not actual walls. I don't think anything without FLY should be doing that.

The Necron Monolith is spd8. It has 24 wounds and is T8. It can "Transport" models, and has some pretty good firepower. it can also deep strike. I think not having fly is fine, especially at 360 points. I'm not saying it's meta changing now or anything, but the biggest reason not to take one is now significantly reduced. I think its fine.

That would work. Or, everyone could just try to make sure their barricades and such were 1 or lower when they put their terrain together.

If you do that why bother putting barricades there in the first place? 2" high barricades are genuinely interesting for infantry battles.

I think titanic units ignoring terrain with 2" or less sounds like a much better solution.

Agreed. That's why I suggested exactly that three posts after the one you quoted. You saw that, right?

When can we expect the points to be updated in the app?

Yesterday. At least that’s when I downloaded the update.

well, I broke down and bought this gakky mess, simply because I screwed up copying info into the last one and it just looked crappy. I'll probably just copy pages for my group though so they don't need to splash out.

Honestly, worst thing about it......it's not even ring-bound like the last one. That's some cheap-ass BS right there.

The point values in the app is current, at least for Craftworld.

Not being spiral bound kind of stinks. The 2020 GT book was my most utilized book and spiral bound was very nice.

I played a game with the updated secondaries. I very much like the changes so far.

Any surprises? Our rep failed to get us our order on time again so we won’t have the new books till mid week. We do have a new rep at least going forward now though.
