Just wanted to say that we have a clearance section on out store to clear out some ranges we are no longer carrying. It currently contains items from the following ranges:
Sphere Wars
Malifaux
Firestorm Armada
Heroes of Myth and Legend
Gribbly Miniatures.
All the items in this section is available with 30% off the RRP by using the code 'CLEARANCE' during the check out. You can find them here:
Why are we clearing these out? We are moving to producing out own range of models and rules, and moving more into distribution. As such, these ranges no long fit with our plans.
We will be posting some news on our own models as time goes by, but the first two packs are available. Here's a couple of pics:
I've just put the Unmann on to the store for pre-order.
Priced at £9.50 per pack, they will be available from the 26th July or earlier (depending on how quickly they turn up). All pre-order will be sent as soon as we have the models packed.
Pack contains 3 multipart lead free pewter miniatures.
There are few things as unsettling as the blood curdling battle cries of the Unmann. They are the most common subspecies of the Orcnar and despite their limited capacity to reproduce; they manage to sustain a healthy population.
The Unmann adopt a primal approach to warfare and trust in their claws and teeth to slash and tear away at those who dare venture into their territories. They are a savage and ferocious opponent to face and generally prefer close quarter fighting to all other forms of combat.
The physical make up of the Unmann varies vastly from one warrior to the next; some of them will grow to full maturity within a matter of hours of spawning while the more unfortunate mutant throwbacks of the breed will die within the same amount of time. It is this ‘survival of the strongest’ attitude that underlies all values of the Orcnar society.
Despite their perceived low level of intelligence, their enemies need to be cautious not to underestimate them. There are few creatures in the world that can withstand the charge of a hungry Unmann who has caught the smell of blood in his nostrils.
It gives me a nice warm feeling inside to announce the Orcnar Unmann are now available to order from stock.
Packs contain three 32mm pewter models and is priced at £9.50
Details: Measuring: ~32 floor to eye. Models can be assembled into 9 different poses (separate left arms.)
I don't know too much about this game or world, but for some reason the idea of a "Mad Puppet Army" is really appealing to me. The Napoleonic (?) garb isn't hurting either.
I think I shall be putting in an order tomorrow, for the sheer joy of painting them.
But to paraphrase it for you, the Nuem weren't originally in these machines. They originally lived in their lands, master of engineering and clockwork, enjoying the spoils of the land etc. They became complacent in their place in the world and failed to continue to appreciate all they had. When the Britanans began their expansion plans, the Nuem land, Encartria, was one of the first to be invaded.
The Nuem, now fat on excess, had lost the ability and knowledge of how to defend themselves and all look pretty bad for them. That is until a envoy from the Naedre appeared and offered them salvation. The Nuem went with then and found out, too late obviously, that the salvation was in fact slavery.
The Naedre imprisoned the Nuem into mining machines and forced them to work the mines. They weren't just trapped in the machines in the conventional sense. They were melded with them via cables etc being implanted into the brain and spine of the Nuem rider.
Because of this melding, the Nuem are in a constant state of suffer, pain racks their bodies ensuring they are unable to form any sort of thought more complex than required to control the machines for mining.
Well, all except for one female child who seemed to relish in the pain (bit of a freak maybe...) She told the other Nuem that the Gods had spoken to her and told her that they were displeased with the Nuems excess and abandonment of them. She said this is why they are suffering now and the only way to salvation was to continue to suffer. She taught them how to embrace the pain and suffering and use it to gain strength
During what is know as the Vaettirs 'Great Mistake' The Nuem took the chance to make their escape etc etc
Now, the Nuem are on a campaign to take back Encartria and win back the Gods favour through suffering. They build new clockwork machines for war and continue to encase their kind into these machines of suffering in the hope that, as a race, their suffering will be their salvation.
So, you could say they are 'Dwarf S&M clockwork master engineering religeous freaks'.....
We have phase one of our public beta for Relics open now. We would really love to see people get involved and help to make the game as good as it's possible, so please take a look and let us know what you think (and yes, we will listen to what is feedback and make changes where needed...)
In addition to the beta, we have released the Orcnar Eotan models:
The pics aren't to great (I broke one of the lamps) but We hope to have painted examples shortly and a new photography set up (more lamps!!) is just finished so I may retake these pics.
We have been working on a few scenarios for use with the Relics beta rules and are thinking we may release them over this weekend (25th/26th Sept). So, keep an eye out for notification of them arriving!!
They will not be ‘finished’ scenarios, so feel free in providing feedback on them too!!
If you want to suggest scenarios of your own, please feel free. We would love to hear what you have in mind!!!
Details: Measuring: ~32mm floor to eye. Models can be assembled into a number of poses. (separate arms.)
Pack contains 3 multipart lead free pewter miniatures. Miniatures require assembly and painting. Painting materials are not included. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts and pointed components
And don;t forget, we are looking for feedback for the Relics beat, see here
Well, it’s been a bit of a journey to actually get these models into stock, thanks Royal Mail….. but they are finally here and are now available to order from stock!
With this also comes our usual ‘release’ giveaway, where one member of our Forum, newsletter, Twitter and Facebook page follower wins a copy of the new release.
So, this time the winners of a Vaettir Varrier pack are:

Congratulations to all four of you, we will be in contact to arrange getting the pack to you.
And don't forget that we now have the starter sets for the Britanan and Orcnar forces now available for pre-order at a great price on our webstore here
We have just posted the first two new rules into our rules studio on our forum:
'Morale'
First cut of the in-development morale rules. We'd love to hear what people think of these early in the development process. These are designed to be compatible with the QSR so you can pick them up and play straight away
'Vaettir QSR List'
First cut of the in-development third QSR army list. These will become part of the free to download version of the Relics rules. These are also compatible with the Morale rules above.
You can find the download links for these on our forum here
You don't need to be a member of the forum to download them but we'd love it if you joined and let us know your thoughts on the rules. Remember, they are early development rules so it's a good chance to let us know your thoughts and see them evolve.
We’ve started our own YouTube channel and uploaded the first promo video for Relics (below)
We’ll be adding more shortly, including profile videos where you get to see the models close up and also videos where we take a look at parts of the Relics rules and how they work on the table.
If there is a video you'd like to see, drop us a line and let us know.
Things are progressing at a steady, if not sprinting, pace.
I’ve managed to find the time and energy to put together a fourth video, this time the Orcnar Unmann. It can be found here…
But, more importantly we are moving forward with our development and testing internally. We have started to look at the magic and command rules in more depth. In addition (and partly because we need some for the Magic and Command rules) we have four new profiles.
Britanan Royal Arcanum Guard:
The first magic using profile of the game, these also fill the role as the Britanans first command models. These boys are the Kings own Guards, so not to be messed with…… Unless your stupid that is…..
Britanan Highlanders:
Now then, all you blackpowder heads may be surprised to find that the forth squad profile for the Britanans will be a combat profile, but what Red Coat wearing, musket wielding army would be seen dead out and about with out their kilt wearing broadsword wielding brethren.
Orcnar Beorn:
The Orcnars first command profile, the Beorn will bring the usual Orcnar subtlety for the finer tactics but adds to it with some special rules to move you orcnars about the table just that little bit quicker.
Orcnar Grymman:
Ah, yes, the Grymman. This may be a hardish profile for the Orcnar fans to get their head around as it is a shooting profile, but once all you Orcnar players pick yourselves up off the floor you’ll come to see that there is more than just ‘shooting in the hope of scoring a casualty’ to the Grymman. Use them in a co-ordinated effort with some Unmann or an Eotan and you will definitely get your points worth and turn the melee monsters you have into even more of a killing machine.
You can expect to see early versions of the above appearing in the Rules Studio in the near future. In the mean time, why not take a look at what is already in there and let us know your thoughts.
It's also drawing close to the release of the Orcnar and Britanan starters and with it, the final sign off on the free to download QSR. A good game can be had with the QSR, and simple adding the in development morale rules, found in the Rules Studio, expands it further
However, that is not it. With the Dragoons and Docgas now in stock, we can now send out the starter packs. Both the Britanan and Orcnar starter packs are of equal points (well, 10 points between them but that’s not an issue) and a great place to build a force from. Links below:
If you fancy taking you game of Relics beyond the QSR, you can find the latest snippets of some of the development rules for the full game in the Rules Studio on our forum:
Currently in the Rules Studio, you will find the rules for Morale, Overkill and the Vaettir QSR list. We will be adding the Command, Magic and others over the next few weeks.
Why not download them, try them out then let us know your thoughts. We really would love to hear what you think (yes, we really would, it is not just the usual talk) and you never know, you may be able to help develop Relics into the game that we all want to be playing.
I'm still loving these 'Pan's Labyrinth' looking Vaettir. The Docga are also very good, I strongly favour the more canine looking of the two available.
Glad you liking what we're doing, model wise. It's not surprising people see a Pan's Labyrinth influence in the Vaettir, Guillermo del Toro was the big 'inspiration' behind the factions look. Been a big fan of his work for ages, so just seemed right to use his work as inspiration for a faction! In fact, it's more the tooth fairies from HB2 than PL that influenced them, but a lot of his stuff crossed over from one film to another. You can spot his work from a mile away.
Anyway, we would really like to hear if you like the rules or not!! Especially the stuff in the Rules Studio.
We'd really like to get feedback on it. No need for our minis right now through, just the rules and some proxies will set you up (although it does seem to play better when using the right figures!! weird that.....lol)
Hmmm, that title sounds like a lonely hearts advert...... Anyway, we're looking for some show attending companies to carry the Relics range on their stall at shows they attend.
Essentially, we're looking for those that can provide demos on their stall, but this is not a 'set in stone' requirement. As long as you attend shows and are willing to carry our range, We’d like to hear from you.
The discounts offered for these partners will be above the usual retailer discount, with the highest discount available to those able to provide demos.
If you are interested in becoming a Tor Gaming show partner, Please get in touch (contact at torgaming.co.uk). If you know a company that you think may be interested, point them in our direction.
It gives us great pleasure to announce the first member of the Tor Gaming show Partnership.
Four A Miniatures will be the first trader to be carrying the Relics range at shows in the UK.
The next show they will be attending is the Smoggycon 2010 in Middlesbrough on November 27th and they will have the Relics range with them! (They will also be at Recon (Pudsey, Leeds) on the 4th Dec.)
We have added a new calendar system to our website with which we will use to post all shows and the attending traders that carry the Relics range. you can find it here
We would like to thank Andy from Four A Miniatures for teaming up with us and we look forward to working with them more in the future.
I'm not sure what happened to 2010, but it seems that Christmas is just round the corner. It is, in fact, the first Christmas that Tor Gaming has seen as a miniature producer!!
So, we thought it would be nice to have a little offer for the festive period.
Spend £40 or more and use the following coupon code to get 15% off your order.
code: christmas
The code is good for use once per customer and expires on the 31st December 2010
As with all the rules in the board posted above, they are 'development' rules and therefore not official. We post them so anybody can take a look at what we're doing and even have a say in it. And believe me, we really want to hear what you have to say about it so tell us!!
I forgot to say that if you are a member of the Tor Gaming forum, you can see some previews pics of the first Orcnar command model and Britanan Arcanum Guard Model.
Both these sculpt will have profiles that makes use of the command rules soon to be available as beta and the Guard also makes use of the Magic rules that will also be available soon as beta.
As you will no doubt be aware, VAT in the UK will be going up in the New Year. Whilst we would love to cover this increase ourselves, the fact we are already covering increased metal costs since we first started in business means we reluctantly have to raise our prices.
We will only raise our prices to reflect the VAT increase and nothing else.
But, as we currently have a Christmas offer on, why not get a jump on the increase and save yourself even more pennies by spending over £40 and use the code christmas to save 15%. Offer ends on the 31st December.
Lastly, we really would like to get rid of the remaining clearance stock, so it is now at 40% off!!! So, take a quick look and see if there is anything you want!
Automatically Appended Next Post: In addition to the VAT increase, if you are outside the EU, you won't be affected as we do not charge VAT on your orders.
I should have included that in the announcement above, sorry about that.
Well, I've pulled my finger out of the hole it was in and sorted out a couple of more videos. The Britanan Grenadier is on the You Tube video right now, and the Vaettir Varrier video will be up soonish.
You can find our channel on here or on our own site here
ha, always the way!! The Vaettir Varrier vid is uploaded now.
I have also posted another preview sculpt onto the forum viewable by forum members, the Vaettir Varbres (sculpted by Kevin Kosse).
In addition, we have now moved the preview sculpts of the Britanan Royal Arcanum Guard Sculpt (sculpted by Kevin Kosse) and the Orcnar Beorn Sculpt (sculpted by Sergio Alonso Leon) to the news section so everyone should be able to view them, forum member or not.
We thought we would show some pics of the next release for the Relics table top game
The grand scale and infinite potential of King Jorje’s vision of the Britanan Empire was finally realised with the creation of the Royal Arcanum Guard. Each one is hand stitched personally by his majesty himself, it is a passionate indulgence for him and into each he interweaves his own wisdom and cunning and all too abundantly his furious hatred for lesser creatures. The magic that is employed by the King to ignite the spark of life within the Arcanum Guard is an ancient craft known by few, those that are learned in its ways are usually reluctant to harness its power as its effects can cause unpredictable side effects.
This is somewhat true in the case of King Jorje, some random element of his spells have left him with the ability to see through the button eyes of his prized creations as if he is there on the battlefield himself, this phenomenon can be a gift or a curse dependant on how active the Royal Arcanum Guard are from day to day, more often than not though, the abundance of visual information that is seen through the Kings eyes is too much to comprehend as the might of the Britanan Empire pushes forward in every possible direction.
Able to operate independently upon the battlefield, the Royal Arcanum Guard are an inspirational sight to behold, their skilled manipulation of magic allows them to offer a measure of protection for the troopers they command yet they are also quite capable of harnessing its more destructive qualities to wreak havoc upon the forces of their enemies, instilling dread terror in their hearts as they march upon them.
We expect to have these on our store for pre-order shortly with a projected release date of late January and a possible price of £5.50 per pack, but not 100% on that yet. The pack will contain all the pieces to make either of the two poses shown or soem other pose that you crazy converters come up with using the pieces (it also has 2 balls in the pack, different sizes)
In the latest blog post I have taken a few minutes to acknowledge the efforts of a few local gamers and the contribution towards Relics so far. Seriously, it's amazing how much further forward Relics is with the help of these few guys, so it's only fair I give them credit and the lime light for Christmas!
In addition to this, I also touch on the subject of a new game that has just entered development ~ Project Fire.
The following is a list of shows where you can get demos of the game for the first quarter of 2010.
* Paw 2011 - Plymouth: February 05, 2011 - February 06, 2011
* The South West Model Engineering (SWMEE) 2011 - Shepton Mallet: April 30, 2011 - May 02, 2011
* Legionary 2011 - Exeter: May 07, 2011
If you're a trader at one or more of the three shows immediately above (or know of any that may be interested) or at any show not listed and would like to carry the Relics range and take full advantage of the demos, please contact us on trade@torgaming.co.uk for details of our terms and attractive discount for trade partners.

We have posted painted images of the Britanan Royal Arcanum Guard in the Britanan gallery on the Tor Gaming site.
You will also be able to buy this model from our show partners at the shows listed in the http://www.torgaming.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,50.0.html (more to be added shortly, all UK based at the moment) if you would prefer to do so.
Just ordered some Troopers and Grenadiers to use in my Malifaux puppet crew and I love them! I should get around to a review on my blog within the next month or two.

Just ordered, as in today? We've not received the order through the store!!

No, this was a few weeks back, just haven't had the time to crack them open.
It gives us great pleasure to announce the second member of the Tor Gaming show Partnership.
Wargames Emporium have signed up to carrying the Relics range at shows in the UK.
The first show they will be attending with the Relics range is Hammerhead 2010 in Newark. 13th February.
We have added a number of additional entries into the calendar system for the shows they have confirmed they will be attending, and we will continue to add more as they confirm them
We would like to thank John from Wargames Emporium for teaming up with us and we look forward to working with them more in the future.
If your at Hammerhead this weekend (Kelham Hall, Near Newark), why not drop by the GCN stall. They will have demoes of our game, Relics. (.....and obviously, you will be able to see the minis in person, then a short walk over to the Wargames Emporium or Four A Miniatures stall to buy them!!)
A little while ago we decided to try and make the store a little more accessible to those that do not use the UK Pound.
New Currencies:
Now, you can change the displayed currency on the store to any of the following:
Great British Pound
US Dollar
Canadian Dollar
Australian Dollar
Euro
Prices with out VAT:
Also, if you have a delivery address outside the EU, you won't be interested in our VAT. As such, If you log into the store with an account that has a default address outside the EU, you will be presented with prices that DO NOT include the VAT!!! So, no more needing to work out how much you'll be paying. Just log in and the store does it for you!
You guys might want to consider thickening the legs on any future Brittanan minis.
The Troopers/Grenadiers legs are IMPOSSIBLE to pin, if you remove the slotta-tab. I've already busted the leg on 2 minis just inserting them into my painting/priming bases and applying a tiny amount of pressure.
They're great minis but this is a big weak point and I'd be concerned about putting them through the rigors of a gaming base. Luckily, I plan to have them mounted on an integral display base...

On future releases (well, srtarting wiht the Dragoons actually) we have a new, slim line, tab that when inserted into the base doesn't hold the model so high. This shoudl remove the need to remove the tab. For the Troopers and Grenadiers, this new tab will be added to the moulds when they are redone.
We will look at thickening the legs too, but we can only thicken them so much before the legs look wrong for the model....
We will look at what we can do though.
Viktor von Domm wrote:i just stumbled on this nice thread here...
the minis look really awsome, unhique is a too small word to use here...
what future plans do you have , what other minis will you invent for this gameline?
cheers, good luck with your company!
vik
Hey Vik,
Thanks for the kind words.
Currently, in addition to the three factions that are on our store we have plans to take it to 5 factions, maybe 6. The 4th faction will be sadomasochistic dwarfs who use clockwork power for fighting machines and weapons after being held captive and forced to work in mines by the possible 6th faction. You can find a pic of the first models form that faction on our forum (need to be a member, members preview I araid: http://www.torgaming.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,397.0.html) . The 5th will be a rather fun goblin faction. They will be a little way off but as with everything we do, we will try and make them like nothing on our gaming tables at the moment.
hmmmm *makes a liking face^^* the new concepts of the clockwork dwarfs look really good...
and all the upcomming stuff sounds pretty tasty too^^
i have to really think about purchasing some of your minis...
by the way do you do paypal? its for me the easiest way to do business with foreign currencies...

Glad you like them. The clockwork Dwarves are going to be in resin as they are toooooo fat to go into metal
Yes, we accept paypal. the store will redirect you to the paypal site for payment.
After the recent rubbish weather, VAT rise and the fact that we appear to be in a recession that is just downright pants for everyone, we have decided that enough is enough and it's about time for something nice.
So, starting in about a week’s time, and running for about two weeks we are having a VAT free sale!! 'What, how can we sell with out VAT???' you may be asking, well fear not, we're not dodging our tax commitments to HMRC, it's just a posh marketing way of saying we will be doing a 20% off sale for a couple of weeks.
The sale will cover the Relics range of models and will be on all items in that range.
Keep an eye out for the announcement with the start date; it's not that far away!
We are having a special 20% discount for one week only, effectively knocking the VAT off our prices!!
Starting on Sunday 27th Feb 2011 and ending Saturday the 5th March 2011 you can save 20% on the entire Relics range. Simply enter the following coupon code into the coupon field of the check and the cart will automatically knock 20% off your order:
coupon code: save20perc
This coupon is valid for order within the EU zone only.
We have released an updated version of the Vaettir QSR list for beta. In addition, we have also released the rules for 'Knock Down' lingering effects as it is needed for the Vaettir list. ;-)
The next release for the Relics range, the Vaettir Varbres, are now available for pre-order. Release date 22nd April 2011
Like twisted tornadoes of relentless destruction the Varbres are a swirling mass of fury, their natural adeptness in cruelty and wickedness leaves them hungrily relishing the opportunity to administer death as a way of torturously punishing all the creatures that they hold responsible for the downfall of their race.
While the overload of raw magic clearly affected their physical appearance, corrupting them and infusing them with elemental properties, the irreparable damage that they suffered mentally is at first glance less apparent. All Varbres are undoubtedly insane and are constantly consumed by a passionate hatred for all living things.
They are unpredictable in battle and are able to flit in and out of danger as and where it is necessary, they adopt many different forms and are masters in concealment, their skills are finely honed to perfection and in a fitting tribute to the wind element that their powers are derived from they able to change their will in an instant.
Measuring in at 35mm tall from top of base to top of head, The Varbres will be available in packs of two and are priced at £5.90 inc UK VAT.
Whilst they are available for pre-order on our online store now, they will also be available through our distributor http://www.kingsleydistribution.net/.
So, if you are a store that would like to stock the range, please contact Kingsley Distribution on the above url. If you have a local store near you that you want to stock the range, start annoying them to contact Kingsley Distribution. We’d rather you support you local store than buy direct if possible.
Now that we have released the rules in the 'alpha' state, we will be announcing our official demo program in the very near future.
We are at that time were we need the 'peoples' help to promote the game in person at shows/events, clubs, shops and by organising tournaments (maybe a little early for that but it's on the list anyway) etc.
None of this is done for free. As a reward for their efforts, those that join the ranks of the Kings own Demo Corp as a Demo Trooper have the chance to earn the much coveted 'Buttons' that all the Troopers of King Jorje hope to earn one day.
These can be exchanged for a whole host of 'goodies' including, but not restricted to, the full Relics range. There will also be 'Demo Corp limited editions' and all sorts of other cool 'stuff' that we (and you) can think of. Plus there will be a special Kings own Demo Corp section on the forum for you all to chat about the best ways to promote a game and what ever else you fancy. Plus it gives us a place to show you early concepts, sculpts and stuff before the rest of the world.
We are still working on the finer points (like getting the application form together....) but, for now, we would like you to think about joining and helping to spread the word of Relics to your local area.
If you are interested in joining the Kings own Demo Corp and becoming a Demo Trooper to help King Jorje realise his plan "to make the World Unglandan", in the first instance you can register your interest by emailing us (contact AT torgaming.co.uk) . We will then email you the application form when it is complete.
Please note that at this time, we are more interested in the UK and EU. We will accept applications form elsewhere, but this will be run using the EU system until we have partners outside of the EU to take over.
Here's forty buttons on the drum
for those who volunteer to come
To demo Relics all day long
Over the hills and far away
This pack is great value and provides the players with:
3 Varriers ~ 28mm tall
4 Varbres ~ 32mm tall
1 Vstonin ~ 40mm tall
With the alpha rules now available for download, and the Kings Own Demo Corps program starting now, this is a perfect time to order some Relics miniatures and get yourself in on the action.
We now have a wiki system installed on the main site and will start to populate it with all sorts of Relics related content (and we have planned a lot of stuff....... Daniel is going to be a very busy person)
We have already posted the first piece which just so happens to be the main world history of Relicia that explains how Relicia ended up as it is now.
As we add more content, it will all be interlinked wiki style but we will also keep this thread updated with direct links to content too.
A few days later than expected (sorry about that) but some of the new releases for Relics are now available.
Unfortunately, the Vaettir Starter set has been put back by a couple of weeks due to issues with the Vaettir Varbres mould..... This will be rectified asap and should not take longer then 2 weeks (bloody better not....) Sorry. :-(
Ornar Beorn - £7.00
Vaettir Vstonin 1 - £5.90
Both these packs are available to order from our online store.
Until we can say that the Relics range is available through a good number of distributors outside the EU, we want make it as easy as possible for our non EU customers to get their Relics miniatures.
We felt our current shipping rates for orders outside the EU were too high to align with this desire to help you get your models:
Previous rates:
Order value up to £40: Shipping - £5.00
Order value up to £80: Shipping - £8.50
Order value up to £120: Shipping - £12
Order value 120.01+: Shipping Free
Therefore, we decided to have a fiddle with them!
Effectively immediately, we have restructured our shipping rates to the following subsidised amounts.
New rates:
Order value up to £30: Shipping - £4.00
Order value up to £60: Shipping - £6.00
Order value £60.01+: Shipping - Free
And don't forget, you don't pay VAT either, so that's a massive 20% of the prices on the web store!! The web store will adjust the prices automatically for you if you log in using an account with a non-EU shipping address.
It's been just under two months since we released the Alpha rules for Relics and we have received some great feedback so far. But we want to hear more!!
The Alpha will be closing on the 1st July, so if you don't get feedback to us before then, it will be too late to get your name in the credits!!!
But, that's not all!!
Shortly after the Relics Alpha closes, We will be offering the opportunity to all those that submitted feedback to take part in the Alpha of the Nuem force list. And maybe, just maybe, the Ridend force list too not long after.
These will not be an open alphas however. Oh no. These are by invite only, and the only way to get the invite into this great opportunity is to get involved in the Alpha now!
So, now is the time to get the feedback collated and sent into us. Then you can start preparing to help the Nuem reclaim their ancient kingdoms from the invading red tide of the mad King Jorje.
It is with immense please that I can say we now have Warpath Games (http://www.warpathgames.com/) as our North American distributor.
This is a really big step forward for us and a great indicator of the potential of Relics.
So, now all you Relics fans over there in North America can now start pestering your local stores to stock the range and point them towards Warpath Games.
And if you are a store owner in North America, why not contact Warpath through their website and start to stock the next big game: http://www.warpathgames.com
The second draw has just happened and Scott Asbury is the lucky sod who gets a couple of starter sets!
So, that's two draws down, one to go. So, if you don't already 'Like' Tor Gaming on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/TorGaming), now's the time to do it and get in there for the third draw!!
ted777ccg wrote:Got all my Relics stuff today. Got to say, they look fantastic, and I'll be working on them right away! Excellent stuff all around good sirs!
Excellent!! Glad they all arrived!
I hope you'll be posting some pics when painted!! You can start your a WIP thread and then your own Gallery thread on our forum when they are complete!!
Here's a couple of snaps of the greens for the releases next month:
The Britanan Marksman. Really love these guys. Something a little disturbing about a doll with a sniper rifle though....
The Orcnar Grymman. The little monkey orc things that will scream your head off..... (these are actually WIP picks, the little guys shoulders have now been finished and he is at the casters.)
Stage one of the Relics beta will be out by Monday 5th August. This will be a un-formatted, no diagram version. (as in not laid out but more just a simple 2 column doc)
Stage two, including diagrams will be a out around the 27th August.
We really hope plenty of people will get involved and provide us with all that feedback that will help us avoid the dreaded errata a month later that seems to be so prevalent in this industry.
It gives me another one of those warm gooey feelings inside to announce Ludik Bazar, that very well known French wargames retailer, is now stocking the Relics range and have their first stock online now!!
Nuem battle prayer - (Recited from the New Tomb of Law according to Brother Galdarium Medaltruk)
Typically a company Devoted will recite the prayer they will pause at the end of each sentence. This allows time for the devout Nuem Warriors assembled to repeat the phrase thus strengthening the prayer and the protective properties it is believed to confer. In times of isolation and other dire circumstances it is perfectly acceptable to recite the prayer to oneself though the effects bestowed will be limited.
My suffering today will bring,
A curse upon the puppet king.
These strangers land upon our shores,
And lead us into bloody wars.
Beneath my feet the ground will quake,
And in their holes the heathens shake.
My fists shall pound on faithless walls,
And slay them in their ancient halls.
And if I were to fall today,
Upon my knees to gods I’ll pray.
When I am lost, I will be found,
And then I'm laid into the ground.
My oldest kin please guide me well,
To fair Dundhanllam and clear of Hel.
The Blessed child shall guide my mind,
Unto her will, my soul I’ll bind.
When I was writing the Nuem development list a while back, I wasn’t paying attention to the number of profiles. This meant I ended up putting 13 profiles in to their list. ‘What’s wrong with that?’ I hear you cry. Well, the first three force lists only have 12. D'oh.
So, when I realised, I looked at the Nuem list to see what I could take out and put in the expansion list, but I just couldn’t decide as I wanted them all in there. So, the only solution was to write a 13th profile for the first three forces.
Pop over to our forum where you can find a link for the 13th profiles. A word of warning, these are early development profiles and haven’t been tested much. So, if you take a look at them we are especially interested to hear you thoughts. You can help us shape these new profiles.
This weekend just past I started some initial notes and planning for the making of a Relics skirmish game. We may using some of the unique features of the Unbridled Fury system we recently started to publish after the sad demise of Furidion Games. But we will make some amendments including:
Reworking the dice system to make use of just six sided dice (that’s dice with six faces, not six dice in total…..)
Rework the combat mechanic to remove the linear system it currently has and introducing a bell curve (we like bell curves for the ‘long shot’ rolling capabilities of them, making those times when your grunt kills their hero all the more sweet!)
I hope to have a ‘working’ version within a month. Obviously, as with everything we do we want it to be the best damned game it can be, and part of that is to make sure it is played and tested to death before we put anything in print.
You can expect us to continue with our usual Alpha and Beta releases tactic for this project a few months down the line, but in the mean time if you are interested in taking part in some mega early development testing as we build the rules, let us know by posting your interest in this thread on our forum. We would like only people to volunteer if they actually do have the time, energy and willingness to actually do the work. If you can’t put the effort in, don’t apply.
This will make use of our existing range of Relics miniatures, and will be available as usual as a free to download copy, as well as a printed copy when we are happy with it. So, if you already have Relics miniatures, your laughing!
We have announced potential new bundle deals for Relics to help players get into the game and build up a larger force easier. The packs are designed to be larger than the canned starter sets and encompass more of the rules by including models that use command and magic. This enables the players to get deeper into the game faster with a single purchase.
On top of that, the new potential deals will come packaged with a KR Multicase so the figures have something in which to travel in between battles
The deals seem quite interesting, giving a solid core for each force. I think the only thing that would make it clearer is the actual model count for each unit/force.
Otherwise something I would definitely be interested in purchasing (possibly for more than one of the factions too!)
The exact model count has been added to the blog post, but I've pasted it below too for you. ;-)
So, what would be in the packs and how much damn it? Well, below you will find the price for each factions pack and the models that come with the bag. Each pack brings with it a saving of around £10 on the MSRP !!

1 x Beorn (1 blister)
6 x Unmann (2 blisters)
2 x Docga (1 blister)

6 x Varriers (2 blisters)
2 x Varbres (1 blisters)
1 x Vstonin (1 blister)

Pack content:
1 x Guard (1 blister)
12 x Trooper (4 blisters)

But yeah I am guessing the old one was listing the blisters, but (it might just be me...) it helps to know what you are getting .
I look the look of all three bundles and with hope of moving some money about towards the end of the month am most likely to pick up the Britanan one and maybe after that the Vaettir a month after.

So, I guess that means you want us to do them then?

Skimming over this thread i am very impressed with your hands on interaction with fans/potential customers. There's no bs and you are very good at keeping people updated.
Really wish you the best of luck with Relics, as in my opinion you deserve every success.
I actually feel guilty that i am not particularly interested in your product

Thanks!!!
It's easy to do as long as I keep in mind that I am a customer of other companies. So I do what I want them to do.

ha ha, no problems my friend. We all like different things. I just appreciate you taking the time to post.

Do you have a wargaming blog? Do you do reviews? Do you have a good monthly traffic (3000+ per month)
We’re looking for a ‘few’ gaming blogs to add to our reviewers network and regularly send products to for review. places are seriously limited at this time. If you are interested, email us (contact at torgaming.co.uk) with your blogs url, figures for monthly visitor numbers and why we should add you to our new reviewers network.
You’re possibly wondering what ‘PN’ is. Well, we intended for the Nuem to be in the first edition, but they have fallen behind. We did not see a reason to delay the rest though. So ‘PN stands for ‘Pre-Nuem’. When the Nuem are released, we will remove PN from the cover and maybe give some models away as a celebration.
It would appear Relics is continuing its steady progress of making itself available via FLGS and FOLGS as we have the wonderful announcement of two new UK based retailers.
First up we have Wayland Games (http://www.waylandgames.co.uk). You may have heard of them before. If not, what the..? Anyway, Wayland Games were quick to see the light and are now stocking the range on their on-line store.
Second in the ‘have seen the light’ category we have Square Orange Games (http://squareorangegames.co.uk/). Based in Gloucester, this online retailer offers some great ranges (especially now Relics is there!!) at some great prices! And that’s not to mention their free standard shipping on all order, no matter the destination!!! YIKES!
Check them both out if you haven’t done so before:
If you are a FLGS/FOLGS and you would like to stock Relics, you can contact us for further details, no matter what country you are in. We will either help you directly or give you details of a local distributor.
Or maybe you are a distributor who wants to carry our range and offer it to your retail network? get in touch.
Mid November we were informed by Darklord over at the WAMP-Forums that Relics had been short-listed for their WAMP Awards 2011 in the ‘Best Range’ and as you can see, we are in a category that has some seriously strong competition:
Banelegions – Malestom Games
George RR Martin’s Masterwork’s – Darksword Miniatures
Hordes – Privateer Press
Kingdom Death – Kingdom Death
Malifaux – Wyrd Miniatures
Relics – Tor Gaming
Relic Knights – Sodapop Miniatures
Smog 1888 – Smart Max
Star Wars – Knight Models
Warlord Saga – Andrea Miniatures
So, whilst we were very grateful to all the people who nominated us that resulted in the short-listing, we also expected to not be placed once all the voting is over. After all, just look again at the list of the other ranges in the category.
So, you can imagine our surprise and amazement to discover today that we had in fact been awarded the bronze position! The voting must have been tight as it was a joint position with the Darksword Miniatures range.
We were beaten by the amazing Banelegions and Smog 1888 ranges, and a well deserved Gold and Silver for them. But to have beaten some of the other ranges in the groups is just amazing for us.
I’d like to thank each and every one of the people who voted for Relics. You have no idea just how much it means to us to have been short-listed, let alone placed!
You will no doubt be pleased to hear the Relics 'Armies in a Bag' sets are back in stock. Not only do you get a Relics army but you also get a KR Multicase Aquilla 4 bag to keep them in. w00t
What with Christmas and New Years finally out of the way, it’s all hands back to the pumps and time we had our next releases.
This month we have new released for the Britanan, Orcnar and Vaettir, so no-one is left out. And not only that, but they are all new commanders!!
Next Month, there will be alternative poses for all three releases, but enough of that, this months packs are available to pre-order for £4.80 per pack.
Bit of a treble wammy with news today for you all!!
First of all, we now have more designs available on our Zazzle store on T-Shirts, mugs etc etc. You can find the details of this, and see the pics of the new designs on this blog post:
Secondly, the Relics pdf is now officially available form Wargame Vault. We have a ‘starter’ rule set that is deisnged for using with our Starter Cans. This is fre but does not include such rules as morale, command, magic etc and only contains the profiles from the Starter cans.
In addition to that, we have the full rules with profiles for all the currently available models available for purchase as a pdf for $10!
We are also submitting the book for Print on Demand (PoD) and if this is authorised, you will be able to purchase it for $22.50. There will be a bundle deal of the PoD and PDF at the same time for a $5 discount.
But what if I buy the pdf now??? Fear not, we have an ven better deal for the ‘early birds’ amongst you.
If you buy the PDF copy now, before the PoD copy is available, the early bird offer will see you receive a $10 discount on the PoD copy when it becomes available. That means you effectively get the PDF copy for free when you buy the PoD copy. Bazinga!
This coming Monday – 13th February 2012…… Will see a major milestone in the Relics project hit our store for pre-order. This coming Monday…
The printed version of the Relics rulebook becomes available for pre-order!!!!
Packed with 103 pages, this soft colour cover, b&w interior book brings you the first edition of the Relics table top wargame in print version and can be yours for the lovely price of £18
So, what do you get for your £18?
103 pages in total
56,000 words of fluff – Yes, you did read that right, 56,000 words of fluff! That should be enough for even the most hungry of you fluff heads
4 races to choose from – The book contains the Britanan Empire, the Vaettir, the Orcnar and the Nuem. Each faction is completely original and has it’s own gaming style. So no problems if you like more than one as they will all deliver a different gaming experience.
52 profiles - Across those 4 factions, you get a whopping 52 profiles!
I have to say that this is such an exciting time for me. Many times I though we would never get here and many sleepless nights I have had on the journey to this point. But we are here now and it is an amazing feeling!
The book will be on pre-order some point Monday, so get ready people because Relics is finally here!!!!!
Panic wrote:yeah,
the Fight Club dice game looks interesting.
Do you have a copy of the rules you can upload here?
How do you hide dice rolls from view and then reveal?
no sure if that mechanic can be tamper free...
Panic...
Hey up,
I've attached a copy of the rules to this post - These are still not finalise and so require review etc. So don't expect them to be perfect english (nothing I type is!!)
To be honest, the game is about filling 5 - 10 mins and having a laugh. How you hide your dice and whether you or your opponents are trust worthy enough to not cheat in a fun game is never going to be something we cover. I will be adding a section into the rules about this that will run along the lines "this game requires a certain level of honesty when playing. Sure, you can cheat but what does that get you other than a cheap hollow victory? If someone does cheat at this game by changing a hidden dies value then we suggest you never play with them again. It's that simple.'
Whilst we are unable to get to Salute 2012 ourselves (the waiting list for a stall seems to be ‘effing long….) we do not see why you should miss out on getting your Relics fix whilst there!
Pop on over and see The Troll Trader (stall TK04 apparently) who will be carrying our range amongst many others no doubt.
