THE RPG HAS BEGUN, UNLESS YOU ARE ALREADY PLAYING, DO NOT POST ON THIS THREAD Yes, that's right, I'm starting a new RPG, I will be DMing so get ready... This is your worst nightmare, The Demise of Salem. Just a taster of things to come, let's see how many I can get on board... Salem was a promising new settlement on the outskirts of the Eastern Fringe, settled in M.38 it is strategically crucial planet to the efforts of the Imperium in the east. For years, not only has it raised billions of guardsmen for the efforts of Ultima segmentum high command. It has also supplied the raw ores now found in Imperial troops’ equipment across the sector, most notably supplying the admantium used by the Space Marines of Maccrage, the mighty Ultramarines. However as is to be expected in their part of the galaxy, Salem’s planetary defence organisations have come under fierce attack over the years. Whether from rogue Tau expeditionary forces, dark eldar pirates or lurking strands of Tyranid splinter groups, the planet has seen its share of galactic conflict. But, never has the threat of invasion been bad enough to fear the loss of such a vital Imperial planet or merit off-planet aid, until now that is. The four Chaos Gods, sitting on their perverted thrones in the immaterium; looked down on Salem and were disgusted by the hope, prosperity and high moral they saw there. So the dread legions were sent to take the planet from the clutches of the children of the false-emperor. A relatively small force of daemons and renegades threw themselves against the planet’s defences to no avail. Their lack of success was primarily due, not only to the brave forces of the planetary defence company, but to an Imperial Guard regiment that was diverted during transit to aid Salem which munitorium clerks had upgraded to a scarlet level priority defence requirement. So the Chaos forces were repelled and the Imperial citizens safe on their home planet, hoping that the worst was over, they could not have been more wrong... PS. This is fluff from a campaign I have written for me and my friends, hope you like it

Once I say the RP itself has begun, you can RP anytime, even when I'm not here unless I say there is an EVENT or something else happening. But don't RP until we've got more players...

No one else biting the juicy bait then? Guess I'll just add more background. Despite the momentary lull in assaults from chaos forces, a very different enemy suddenly struck against the Imperial defenders. The Guard regiment had wisely opted to stay and defend Salem from further attack. A small group of highly trained Tau Stealth suit teams were sent onto the completely unpopulated south-eastern continent to set up a deployment zone for orca landing ships and to sabotage enemy fortifications. Soon, the Imperial defenders, still reeling from the attacks by the forces of Chaos, now had a fully fledged Tau landing force on the ground with 16% of the planets’ surface controlled by the foul xenos. The Imperial defenders, now surrounded decided it was time to call for aid. The plea for help, due to the huge bureaucracy of the whole Imperial system, was not even received by the munitorium by the time the Chaos gods had put the wheels of their next great plan into action. Suddenly the space all around Salem opened up and from the warp burst a huge space hulk. This was not chance, but rather a device of the chaos gods, the hulk was infested with myriad tyranid beasts. The Imperial defenders called on the Blood Angels to aid them in their cleansing of the hulk. Sergeant Lorenzo thrust his powersword through the chitinous form of the tyranid genestealer, the squad had nearly cleansed the final compartment. "All clear my brothers, all clear. Onwards, cleanse these foul Xenos." The squad moved to the end of the room, finding a door leading to what would formerly have been the bridge of the warp twisted vessel. However, something was different, they could tell from the door to the chamber. The door flickered slightly, conflicting with itself nevertheless, Brother Valencio punched in the access code and the door opened slowly. On the other side was a huge square room, seeming impossible in relation to the space it occupied.(It's bigger on the inside!) In the centre of the room was a sunken pit, in the shape of a chaos undivided symbol. Each corner of the room was shiveringly different; one was festering and decaying in entropy, another the wall was splattered with gore and remnants of butchery, the other scented with fine perfumes and items of luxury and decadence. The final corner was inpossible to describe; old but young, warped yet straight, it hurt your eyes. The sunken pit was filled with disgusting liquids and substances, enough to bring a man to unconciousness; pus mixed with blood, a thick black treacly substance, rising up as if it was alive and other unmentionable things sure to taint and burn. However in the middle of this sea of pestilence was a raised pedestal. On the pedestal was a small human child, or a perverse version of a child. Horrificaly mutated and sick, both dying and living, self mutilating and rehealing whilst changing and enjoying it all like some sick version of a child's game. "Warp-born scum." Lorenzo muttered then opened up his vox. "MEN, THIS IS HERETICAL, SHYING FROM THE DIVINE LIGHT OF OUR EMPEROR!" Dropping his tone dangerously he said, "suffer not this mutated witch to live... CLEANSE WITH HOLY BOLT!" When the terminator squad opened fire however, the hyper-velocity shells never met their target. Some turned to blood and bone, falling into the pit and others decayed and fell like dead birds whilst an odd few in fact flew back into the terminator squad, rebounding of the heavy armour plate. They could do nothing and the mutated child flung it's head in an odd cocking motion towards the squad, grotesquely smiling... The room was filled with unholy warp light and then everything went black. only now was the Gods’ true plan coming to light, as the blood angels tried to fight the witch child, space fractured and an almighty warpstorm opened around the hulk, vomiting forth hundreds of chaos ships, the demise of Salem had begun.

One thing, don't kill anyone elses character or do anything 'big'. (I will decide if it's too major) however you can have a conversation with their character or be involved in action with them without the players needing to keep posting to build a conversation.

Here's a map of Salem I have made (sorry about the low quality). The majority of the RPG will be played on the central continent....
Brown spray- mountains, all heavily mined.
red spots- large cities
purple spot- The capital hive, Hawkreach
black spots- ports (the planet has a powerful navy/commercial fleet)
The rest of the planet is primarily agricultural with various settlements and mining stations all over.
Also, the planet is under attack and therefore, a full garrison is in place. alongside various extra contigents... The sky is full of aircraft and tanks lay ready for battle in the scrubland.

Kade reclined slightly in his chair, idly fiddling with his Shotgun. His room in the barracks was pretty small, and he couldn't help but notice that everything about it was pretty depressing; from the drab grey walls to the small cot bed in the corner.
The door behind him swung open, and Kade turned to aim the shotgun straight at the entrance. The youth walking through recoiled in mild shock, and Kade couldn't help but grin at the panic on the poor kid's face. Aiming the Shotgun skywards, the veteran mouthed the word 'boom', before standing and approaching the visitor.
"What is it, lad?" Kade asked, nonchalontly "or did you just want to come and say hi?" The kid looked down, obviously intimitaded by the older man, before replying "General O'Connor wants you in tactical, sir" nervously. Kade sighed, and looked out the nearby window at the explosions slowly drawing nearer outside. "Yeah, yeah, give me a sec and I'll be there" he grumbled, before shooing the kid away.
O'Connor was the picture of nervousness when Kade entered the room, almost yanking the man off his feet as he led him towards the control desk. Bringing up the space view, O'Connor turned to Kade, who let off a groan. "I take it you know who those ships belong too, Guardsmen?" he blustered, sweat pouring off his face. "Word Bearers" groaned Kade. "Why does it always have to be Word Bearers?"The general flicked the display off, before motioning towards the training halls of the building "I know you're not a sergeant, Kade, but you're the best man I've got nearby. Take some new recruits and commence firesweeps of the lower hives. Forget the Tyranids-The Astartes and frontline platoons will deal with them. Just make sure the Word Bearers get no help from anyone down below". Kade rolled his eyes, before asking "Why do I get stuck with the rook's?" The general wasn't amused-"Now, Kade". The veteran snorted, but gave a salute and simply sighed "Yes, sir".

Name: David Sydal Faction: Imperial Citizen Age: 27 Specialty: Hand to Hand Equipment: Sledgehammer, Auto pistol, knuckle duster, Height: 5'11" Weight:210 pounds. Biography: A former wrestling champion and fighter, Sydal was famous across Salem for his incredible gravity defying leaps in the wrestling ring, as well as his legitimate abilities in martial arts, having been a former three time Border Weight Divison champion. When trouble came to Salem, Sydal had recently recovered from an ankle injury he suffered during a match, but quickly took up his old job, putting on free shows with other fighters and wrestlers to keep the morale of the Imperials up. After a close call with a morat strike, Sydal returned to his home to train and fight in a safer area. Appearance: David leapt up from the mat, his kick catching his opponent on the temple. The crowd roared approval as the larger man stumbled back, visibly rocked, then fell on his back. Sydal climbed the turnbuckles of the ring, standing six feet above his enemy. Dave loved this moment. When the soldiers saw him climb, they roared louder then any other crowd he'd ever heard before. Dave leapt out and up, his hands spinning as he flipped. He landed chest first on his opponents stomach. He hooked both legs, and the ref counted to three. He stood victorious over his enemy, playing the hero in the grand drama that was the sport. A shrill whistle came known to his ears. The soldiers dropped and scattered. Sydal looked around confused, wondering what had happened. The mortar struck five feet from the ring. Pieces of shrapnel flew off and embedded themselves in his bicep. His arm looked as though someone had fired buckshot at close range to it. Dave suddenly understood what the whistle had meant as he fell, grasping at his nearly ruined limb. His blood stained the canvas of the ring, more of it then could ever flow from a cut caused by an elbow or knee strike. Sydal screamed as he passed out. How's that for an opening post?

IC:
O'malley could barely make out Paulson's voice over the roar of the Engines, who was yelling across the cramped compartment. he thought it sounded like "Debts are paid" or maybe "Nurses Laid", either way it wasn't out of the ordinary with Paulson. O'malley's concentration was elsewhere for the moment though.
The long night of drinking, and the shaking and rattling of the craft was taking its toll on more than one of the Troopers. Rosko had already painted the floor panels with todays lunch, and it was all O'malley could do to not do the same. After a few moments the turbulence passed, O'mallley regained his composure. The hulk of a man sitting Next to him, Officially dubbed "Bear" and for good reason, Clapped him on the back and chuckled, "ya Almost lost it there for a minute." a snort and a nod was the only reply. Nik, who was feeding shells into his shotgun, said something that was drowned out by the engines, then racked a load into the chamber.
The Runner lights faded out, and the Overhead Bulb emitted a dim red glow.
"Alright Ladies! Get 'Chuted up!" Carious Bellowed. O'malley Grab the Gravchute from bellow his seat and slung it around to his back, yanked on the straps a few times, buckled on his helmet, and slapped a Cartridge in his rifle. The rest of the unit was doing the same.
"You sure you know what your Doing man?" Dxun Barked at Rosko.
"aye, you just worry bout you, I got this." he shot back.
"Don't worry, man. The first Jumps always the best!" Paulson was practically yelling in the young mans ear.
The red Light cut out and a rotating yellow one took its place as the Hydraulic lift in the rear ramp let out a load hiss.
The Rotating Yellow beam cast Shadows on the now Somber Faces of the men, all Mirth lost to the task at hand.
"Masks On!" came the Order from Carious. already headed for the ramp. The men complied, Fixing there re-breathers in place.
As the Ramp lower the Unit lined up for the drop. O'malley gave his gear a once over, tamping down on his Flak Spaulders and helmet with the heel of his fist. He murmured a prayer to the God Emperor and braced himself for the jump
A Loud Siren sounded and the light Flicked to green.

Kade grumbled and muttered under his breath as he led the recruits through the blasted ruins of the hive. The occasonal trundle of a Chimera or bark of an officer disturbed the quiet, but other than that there was almost a blanket of silence draped across the city. The sounds of battle had long since faded into the distance, and Kade found that he could actually hear his men speak to him.
Not that they had anything intelligent to say of course.
They obviously were still under the influence of all that propoganda, about how a soldiers life is one long adventure, and they were chattering excitedly about how they'd serve the God Emperor well. Kade wasn't listening, obviously, but it still irritated him that they could be giving away there position to who knows how many hostiles-he wasn't so green as to believe honestly that they were alone. Cocking his shotgun, the Guardsmen scanned the shadows repeadtly, fiddling with the inbuilt torch on his rebreather in an effort to calm himself down.
The thing, that had probably been following them for a while now, was on them in a second-a gibbering mass of pulsating flesh, slime encrusted tentacles, and voracous screaming mouths. seven conscripts died before Kade even registered it's prescence, either cut down by the monstrosity or shot by their comrades panicked, inaccurate fire. Another half-dozen fled screaming, but were quickly slain by lashes from the spawn's (and the veteran reckoned it was a spawn) whiplike tentacles. The last two accomplished a bit more, ramming their bayonets into the creature before having their heads unceremoniously torn off, spinal cord's attached.
Kade didn't take any time to mourn their deaths, instead unloading shotgun shell after shotgun shell into what he guessed was the Spawn's weak points. The beast didn't seem to register the pain, instead turning to him and lacing him with bile from it's phlegemy howl. Leaping, it landed on the guardsmenand the weapon from his hands, trying to entangle him with it's tentales. Kade's carapace armour saved him, and drawing his knife he slammed it into the abomonations chest, a feral battlecry upon his lips. It did notice this time, and roared in agony. Pressing the advantage, Kade drew his pistol and unloaded his entire round into where he reasoned it's head was (or should have been). Lashing out one final time, the beast fell to the ground in a limp puddle.
After making sure the beast was dead, Kade recovered his weapons and went over to check if any of the recruits had survived. No dice. Touching the acquilla on his chest once for each of the poor kids, Kade turned to see if there was a visible way out of this hell-hole. Again, nothing. Sitting down, Kade sighed as he realise dthat he was alone in the most dangerous part of urban Salem, enemies upon all sides.

Height:6'2"
A survivor from one of the many planets struck by the zombie plague, managed to fight his way through hordes of ex-citizens, only to lose his arm to a paranoid commisar as he borded the evacuation ship, when he was found to be free of the virus, his was given a bionic arm for the valour he showed in breaking out of his hellish predicament. This arm allows him to wield his sword with even more strength than his already unnatural physique.
(I know this isn't like the Imperium, but I don't really care)
(This guy is based one the best zombie game character's i've ever ended up creating, he's so full of badassery that the GM banned me from using him and nerfed the subsequent versions of the original game, to stop this from ever happening again)
This But without the cultistness and an autopistol rather than the laspistol, oh and the stupid headgear and more hair-esy.

O'malley hunkered down behind a low wall, cautious of the wide open space that the Intersecting street presented. It was a Prime place for an ambush- Minimal cover, surrounded by high windows and outcroppings of the tattered remains of buildings.
It had been 8 hours since they dropped. Carious left O'malley in charge said he was needed in Hawkreach. They had orders to rendezvous with any remaining military pressence in the sector. They were then to move to Extract some Archeotech Relic from the heart of the city. They had met with small pockets of resistance along the way, Guerrilla Contingents-Easily dispatched, but hell on moral. Fighting was getting more intense as they got closer to the position of the Lieutenant they were to Escort. The renegade populous was heavy in the inner city. O'malley wondered how their presence here had gone unnoticed, and for how long.
They were nearing the Installment now, that intelligence reported the platoon to be at, three more blocks to go. O'malley Peaked over the wall, Scanning the area for movement. He ducked back down, crawled a few feet towards the street, and peered back over the ledge of the wall. He barely noticed the Glint of light, three storys up, almost dead ahead. He threw himself down, hitting the ground hard, just as a high caliber round Lodged itself into the Rockcrete of the low wall just above his head, showering him with debris. The echo of the shot alone was enough warning, but instinctively O'malley Shouted out.
"Ambush!"
His fear realized, O'malley hugged the wall and darted back towards better cover. A shower of las-fire and solid rounds alike already bearing down on him from the Roof tops and windows.
"You see that Sniper?" richards voice broke through over the Vox.
"Third Story... 'Cross the way.." O'malley managed to reply between heavy breaths, and salvos of fire from his lasgun, still on the move ducking and weaving behind cover.
O'malley dove under a collapsed pillar, narrowly making it under, and crouched down on the other side, Protected from the enemy fire for the moment, he took a deep breath and started barking orders over the Vox. " Rich, you got that Sniper...." - "yea I got 'im." - " good, Bear get burtha out, I want you layin down some fire towards that alley" - " 'bout time..." - " Paul, get on the roof, keep it quiet, lemme know what we're lookin at." - "you got it Mal" - " Rosko, get up here by me, keep yur head down, they're hittin hard up front."
Just then O'malley caught the sound of an Engine revving and Screeching tires.
"And Dxun, Prime that charge.... we might need it.."

Kade swore under his breath as the Krak missile smashed into the runs above him. He could of sworn he heard some screaming, but he dismissed it as a product of his imagination. Instead, he turned his attention to figuring out what had fired the weapon-Word Bearers? No, if it was a marine he would have heard him coming, and anyway Word Bearers don't hide. Cultists? Possibly, but then again they usually wanted to rip you apart with their bare hands, not kill you from a distance. So, other Imperials then? That seemed most likely, but why would they have fired at an empty ruin?
After playing dead for a minute or so, and convincing himself that no one was watching him, Kade picked himself up. Grumbling as he dusted himslef down, the veteran loaded another round into old faithful and dropped into a crouch. He could hear the sounds of sporadic gunfire a little way to the East, so Kade reasoned other Guardsmen must be there. Turning the torch on his rebreather off, Kade slowly picked his way through the rubble. The gunfire had ceased by now, and instead there was the sound of armoured boots padding along the concrete towards his location. Someone had had the same idea as him.
Dropping to one knee. Kade aimed his shotgun at the shadowy opening from the other part of the ruins. The footsteps were getting louder now. Suddenly, a group of flustered looking guardsmen brandishing lasguns tumbled out of the inky blackness, one of them carrying a charge. The one on the front seemed like some kind of officer-Kade could just make out the name tag "Carious"-and the one behind a corporal-"O'malley". Kade smiled under his helmet, and lowered his weapon.
"If you guys could see the looks on your faces" he chuckled, to no one in particular.

Alex woke up with a severe headache, sat up and looked around, he saw a young man. No older then 17, he looked terrified and unable to stop shaking. " Pvt. Larkin, get your skinny ass over here!" Barked a bald man behind the private, Alex giggled to himself and thought to himself 'This will be fun!'
Alex picked himself up and charged head first into the pvt and lifted him into the air, as he was falling he connected his power fist into the pvt head. The rest of the squad turned round and opened fire, the lasers harmlessly bouncing off his armour. Alex roared praise to Khorne then kicked the nearest Cadian in the stomach, Alex springed his fist back and then sent it flying into the face of the Sargent. In a blink of an eye Alex had butchered the squad. He now wondered were that strange Guardsman went, and as if by some strange considence he heard the sound of voices, off he set in the general direction of the noise.

OOC: alright, sorry for delay on posting, between being sick school and SC2 i'm having trouble finding time.
I'll finish up the skirmish i left off at in brief. Then get down to meeting Kade.
just a heads up I'll be referring to O'malley as "Mal" frequently. wasn't my intention to steal Serenity's Captain's name, but w/e.
IC: The truck came barreling down the street from the south, ramming abandoned vehicles and debris out of its path. The Driver Slammed on the brakes and the truck spun almost 180 degrees before screeching to a halt in the middle of the intersection. Mounted atop the cab was what looked to be a jury rigged Auto-cannon, probably looted an unfortunate Infantry squad. The Gunner, recovering from the force of the vehicles stop, Spun the turret around and cocked the machine gun before opening fire. Bullets hosing down the better part of the street the Veterans were advancing from.
"The Bastards are getting more agressive" though O'malley as he leveled his Lasgun from behind the fallen pillar, taking a few pop shots at the broad side of the truck drawing its fire.
Ducking back down just in time to avoid the hail storm of bullets.
Mal kept a cool level voice as he talked into his Vox transmitter. "you got eyes on Paulson?"
-"yessir, four on the roof tops, I can see two in the building 'cross the street and muzzle flash from another. 'Nother three creeping from the north down the road."
"Alright, 'em off the roof, drop back, then engage the ones hold up in the the building"
O'malley removed the frag from his grenade launcher and Chambered a Smoke grenade.
"Bear, Were's my cover fire!"
The brute had just finished piecing together the disassembled heavy stubber from his pack.
"I gotchyur Cova Fire right 'ere!" The man bellowed as he Stepped around the corner of a building and saturated the truck with lead (do stubbers use lead rounds?) bearing a sadistic grin.
The heavy rounds from the Auto-Cannon were breaking the pillar apart, chunks of Rockcrete were being flung in all directin above Ma' ls head.
"Dxun, were's that Charge?!"He barked, losing his nerve a little.
A nudge caused him to look over his shoulder just in time to See the Rookie, Rosko, crouched down beside him stand up and open Fire on the Truck with his Lasgun.
The young mans courage rekindled his own. Regathering his wits, he spoke back into the Vox " Rich, Take out that sniper and give paul some support."
Dxun yelled from the Other side of the Street, Hiding behind a flipped car "Hay Mal, What's the plan?"
"bout damn time" Mal murmured under his Breath.
"Alright, you two", he glanced at Rocko, " get some frags over the wall, I'm Popping Smoke and yur runnin that charge to the pickup"
"You gotta be Shittin' me!" The man, obviously not happy, Gritting his teeth grunted.
"Rosko," Mal turn to the recruit, "I'ma head through this building and cut off the guys advancing up the street, you stay here and hold this position. You hit anything you see headed headed down this street."
The young man nodded, and Peeked over the pillar.
"Alright, let 'em have it."
the faint "Tink" sound that a grenade makes when coming in contact with a solid object could barely be heard over the gun fire as two Frag grenades bounced across the Intersection.
A loud Blast, followed by another, a moments pause. Then the Distinguishable "Thump" of a grenade being fired.
The Street Began quickly filling with Smoke.
Mal jumped up and kicked in a window, that somehow had remained intact through out the Grizzly fighting the city had seen, and made his way through the building towards the oncoming Traitors.
Slinging his rifle, Mal unholstered his Autopistol and began Screwing on a Silencer.
"Paul, you got a bead on the three form the north?"
"I hit one, They took cover in that building."
Mal, Steadily advancing through the ground floor came to the northern wall. Standing flat against the wall, he peek around the corner of a window. the alley looked clear, but he could here heavy footsteps. he moved across the room, placing himself out of view from the door to the alley. His Knife drawn, he readied himself for the kill.
the door Flung open followed by two men carrying another, all bearing The Undivided mark of Chaos, an Eight Point Star. The wounded man was bleeding heavily from his chest, the two men dropped him on the ground and a fourth entered. He scanned the room on arrival. He began to speak to the men, his voice heavily altered by the gas-mask he wore, "Come with me, you stay and see what you can do about him" he nodded his head towards the wounded man, " That bastards in here somewhere, we'll teach 'im a lesson."
two of the men made their way to the stairwell and the other began to dress the wounds of the injured, his back turned to O'malley.
He Quietly approached the would-be medic, his knife at the ready. The wounded man watching, but unable to act. Between his Guttural Moans came a cough of blood.
not five feet away from the man now, Mal lunged at him, Rapping one arm around the front of his face and pulling his chin up, The other going for the kill. The Knife cut with the precision of a Scalpel, Blood erupted from his throat, showering the helplessly wounded man. Not a sound more than a gargle was made. Mal then let the Convulsing body drop, it went limp in a matter of seconds. Mal gazed into the frightened mans eyes, now squirming to get away, coughing up blood between gasps for air. Mal wiped his blade on the mans pant leg, kicked the Autogun laid at his feet away and left the man to his fate.
Sheathing his Knife Mal Brought his Pistol up into firing position and was heading toward the Stairs when the blast hit. It Shook the Building down to its foundation, chunks of plaster falling from the ceiling. "Someone will have heard that" he though to himself as he regained his footing.
He heard the heavy footsteps and exited movements of someone coming down the Stairs. "Probably coming to see what happened, the daft bastards." he thought. He took position at the door way to the stairwell, lining his shot up to intercept the men running down the flight of stairs.
The first one rounded the corner made it two steps down from the landing before seeing O'malley's Pistol lined up with his heart. He attempted to stop himself, maybe to turn and flee, or perhaps bring his rifle up, It was useless, the life left his body as fast as the recognition of danger had entered. Two to the chest, One to the head. The man behind him nearly fell over the slumped body before taking three rounds, Center of Mass, then dropped over the railing. One clean shot to the back of the head, just to be safe.
O'malley spoke into his Vox, "How we lookin'?"
"got um on the run," Richards voice broke through the static, "Bear took a round in the Shoulder, got a compress on it, we'll need to get that bullet out though."
"alright, pack it up, Gotta keep heading east."
OOC: alright, that took a lil longer than I thought it would. I'll leave the meeting up to you Faunt.

By the powers invested in me, by me, I SMITE THEE DARK!!!! I want some attention /attentionwhore.
( OOC: Quick recap, Anthra's lads have just killed to death some heretics and met with Kade-what he just posted takes place before the first contact at the end of my last post, if that makes sense)
IC: Kade stood up and let off a quick salute, which was returned by the squadee's. The one identified as "Carious" walked forward, chuckling. "Well", he said "at least you ain't a cultist, eh?", provoking sniggers from the squad. Kade was silent. Feeling the tension built up, Carious continued by asking "What's your name, trooper?"
"Kade", the veteran replied, "But you can call me-" he stopped, tilting his head thoughtfully to the side, though his helmet masked his expression. Finally, he continued "-Kade". The sergeant nodded, replying "Well then, Kade-welcome to the team". Noticing the blood staining his armour, he asked "Ran into some gribblies? Anything we should know about?", a concerned look on his face. Kade nodded. "A spawn ambushed my squad, but I don't think it got there on it's own. There are Word Bearers mulling around somewhere, and it's unlikely that they'll sit us down and hand out pamphlets whilst asking us politely whether we would consider joing another faith. The Tyranids and the Astartes are probably at burger king downtown, and the T'au will be somewhere doing something. Oh, and there's literally a hoard of cultists who want to play jump-rope with our entrails" he concluded.
"Right" said Carious, "this is not the kind of place we want to be hanging out then. Squad! Move out on the double. You too new kid" he finished motioning to Kade. He turned to go, but stopped for a moment and turned back to the veteran. "Oh, one more thing. This here is O'Malley, my second in command. He outranks you, understand". The man turned and nodded. Kade just looked back. "Yes, sir" he replied, a flicker of irritation crossing his tone for the breifest moment, before jogging to join up with the rest of his new squadmates.

Name - Arkus Pallemon
Age - 117
speciality - Close assault.. with anything..
equipment - Chainsword, Power sword, Boltgun, Bolt pistol, Plasma pistol, Artificer armour.
height - 10 ft 7
Biography - Exiled from the Blood Angels chapter due to a single, cataclismic decision that ruined him. He was a good warrior, but on the doomed world of Erkus IV, he chose to detonate missile silos on the planets surface, destroying a large Ork force, including the Waaagh!'s Warboss. However, he also caused the death of 30 of his battle brothers, an unforgivable crime. After, he went where he wilt and did what he wilt, still fighting in the name of the Emperor whenever he could. Otherwise, he was guns for hire in the Imperium, working for whoever could get him wargear, information, transportation or whatever he requires. In 999.M41, he found himself on Naruke II, fighting with thousands of Imperial soldiers and a company of Red Scorpions, defending the planet against Nurgle Daemons and Chaos Astartes, a Tau colonist force and a tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Naruke II was lost, thousands of Guardsmen died along with even more civilians, and the Red Scorpions battle company was heavily depleted, down to only a couple dozen men, with many of their vehicles destroyed. Arkus remained behind, parting with a then recently acquainted Nucian Commissar, Nikev. Arkus, and the Dreadnought Zindler, fought against thousands of Tyranids assaulting the final strongpoint that the rest of the Imperials had evacuated in the capital city. Zindler was eventually overcome by a raging Carnifex, his reactor-core going critical and taking many Tyranids with him. Arkus succombed to the Black Rage, but, like the Blood Angels' chief Librarian, Mephiston, managed to control it. When he was fighting who he believed to be Horus and his traitor marines, he was really tackling the Tyranid Hive Tyrant and all the beasts it commanded. He defeated all the Tyranids that stood in his path, until the Hive Tyrant was dead. Following his experiences defeating the Black Rage, in which he believed he had been approved of by the Emperor himself, he became a fearless warrior. After that, he fought for roughly fifteen years, fighting against the Tyranids, Tau and Traitor marines that remained on the planet. The planet was invaded many times, and amongst others, rampaging Ork warbands fought across the planet with rogue humans, Daemons, Kroot and all manner of other creatures. The planet became a gladitorial fighting ground where the strongest went to prove themselves in those cultures that value martial prowess strongly. Arkus defeated all who stood before him, slaying Kroot shapers, Ork Warboss's, Chaos champions and anything else that got in his way. At approximately 015.M42, an Imperial taskforce returned to Naruke II, including a Blood Angels battle company lead by the Blood Angels' chief Librarian, who had sensed Arkus' presence. In the next few months, Naruke II became a viscious warzone, with many more forces being drawn into the fold. In the aftermath, Arkus was redeemed from his exile, and granted Artificer armour to replace his broken and battered power armour, and a Power sword so that he could slay his foes with even more ease. Whilst he told his fellow Blood Angels that he accepted his return to his chapter, he informed them that he could not stay, and the Emperor yet had things for him to do for himself. With that, he left, continueing in his old way - travelling via whatever means he could. He now finds himself in the Salem system, with enemies of the Imperium attempting to do ill to those who he is sworn to protect.
appearence: Bald, big, muscly and yet somehow easy going.
NOW this character may seem seriously OTT, but this is not his first appearance. Check out WoA: #1 for his original appearance. WoA: #2, which I have begun, has not been completed yet (far from it!). His involvement in this RP takes place after everything that will take place in WoA: #2.
I can see a lot of you having problems with this character, but I've been developing him for quite awhile, and I would enjoy continueing his story. I hope everyone will be alright with that.

Umbriel was running down the corridor as fast as he could. "You Heretical traitor! I will kill you, you will see to it!"
Umbriel kept running. In one single instant, Umbriel heard a swish, and felt in insides go splatter all over the corridor. The man, more of a Goliath, picked up his axe.
"I told you, Umbriel. None can stay my wrath. This is Brother Felis. Titan Horus's Wrath has been neutralized "
"We hear you, Brother. We have new co-ordinates for you."
"Where?"
"Salem."

Alex was watching the strange guardsman from the ruins behind them, and overheard two names, Kade and O'mally. Alex heard a strange chanting noise and turned to his left to see five cultists performing a ritual of Khorne, Alex stormed over and 'persuaded' them to fight for him. Alex took off his Gauntlets, he wanted the pleasure of killing him with his bare hands.
An evil smile spread on Alex's face as he stormed towards the squad, he roared praise to Khorne then jumping tackled the first guardsmen he saw, Alex quickly got into full mount and proceeded to pound on the poor man's face until it was a bloody mess. He turned around to receive a swift jab off Kade, he rolled over and jumped to his feet, taunting Kade.
Behind Kade he could see a cultist cutting into another Guardsmen, Kade ran over and head-butted Alex before punching him in the stomach. Kade went to throw another Jab and Alex caught his fist and in one fluid movement swept his back leg and pushed him over. Alex Stepped over Kade and laughed as he raised his foot up...

Ludd, this would be time for a Player Event. It never works out if you let the players fight each other to the death.. or fight each other (in a proper fight, atleast) at all. You should halt the RP, IMO, and get all the involved players to PM you about what they want their characters to do (like I've done with you and others in different RPs). If you'd like any help with it, feel free to ask.

PLAYER EVENT! Now then, for those who don't know, if you're involved in the event, then PM me with what you plan to do... The event will not happen till all those involved have PM'd me... Those involved cannot RP till it's resolved but everyone else can, happy hunting! So that's Alex, Kade and 'Mal' PM ME!

Then, Ludd will write the event up as he see's fit. Ludd, you should write if there is a chance of Player Fatality in an event.

There was a bright light, and Arkus felt as if he were weightless. He knew where he was; the Warp. He knew what was happening. But he didn't know why. It was a similar sensation to one he'd experienced before; teleportation. It lasted but mere seconds, and when the light disappeared, he looked around, taking in his new surroundings. He was in what was, presumably, a space ship corridor. I wonder which one of the Dark Gods did this, the Changer of Ways, perhaps? he mused. He suddenly drew his Plasma pistol as he heard armoured footsteps coming from the turn ahead. Steam hissed out of vents, and Arkus could hear strange noises coming from all around him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a small rodent scurrying down a maintenance shaft. But he remained focused on the footsteps ahead, and seconds later, two power armour-clad men walked around the corner. Their armour was crimson red, with metalic trims. The first of the two was wielding a boltgun, and he barely had time to shout "loyalist!" before his left shoulder pauldron was ripped apart by a plasma bolt, sending the Word Bearer stumbling backwards. The second figure was brandishing a glowing sword, and an old-style bolt pistol. He ran towards Arkus, pistol raised and firing. Three shots impacted on the Blood Angels' chest plate, all recocheting harmlessly off, before the Chaos marine was upon him. Arkus towered above his foe by a good foot and a half, and as his opponant swung, he grabbed his sword arm, and lifted him off the ground, above his own head. The helmetless traitor just stared at him in surprise as Arkus proceeded to snap his other arm backwards, breaking bone and ceramite armour alike. The Word Bearer yelled out in pain, and vainly kicked out, his power armour boot just bouncing off his artificer armour as harmlessly as his bolt rounds had. Arkus then unsheathed his power sword, and with the strength of a hundred men, sent the blade straight through the traitors' chest. He then threw the Chaos marine against the wall to his left, and sprinting at the other Word Bearer before he'd taken five steps backwards and bowling him over. The traitor raised his boltgun, but Arkus swatted it away, and placed a leg on top of the Word Bearer's chest plate. "Where are we?" he demanded. "I'm not telling you anything, loyalist scum." "Wrong answer." Arkus beheaded his foe in one clean swing of his power sword. With that, he turned left, and continued down the corridor that the two Chaos marines he'd fought had come from. This, he thought, is going to be interesting - a grin crossing his face.

Ok. I totally didn't manage to sign up to a thread only to sod off for ages without posting. Im not like that.
Right here's my character. Again, im not being a lazy git and stealing from another thread.
Character name: Castella
Character age: 29
Character job: Sergeant of the local Arbites(or whatever substitutes for arbites on this world)
Character personality: Castella is a B*tch. She made her way to Sergeant through backstabbing, and cruelty. She is mean, and will do anything to get the job done. Anything.
Character appearance: Like picture, but with a shotgun instead of lasgun. She has tanned skin, and her eyes are grey. She has hair dyed bright red. She has lots of tattoos, like in picture
Character Background: Castella's mum and dad both served as Arbitrators in her home city. They worked hard, and tried to uphold the law justly. Castella however, was a bit of a pyromaniac in her youth, and enjoyed to set things alight, just to see them wilt and die. Her parents were initially concerned, but put it down to her just learning the ways of the world. When Castella made her choice, and said she wanted to join up, her parents were proud of her. However, she got turfed to another city, and without her parents guiding light, she quickly fell into dark ways, and became the twisted scourge of friends and foe alike she is today. She was accused of setting a suspect on fire in his own hab, but it was never proved. Because of this, she gained the name 'blazing B*tch' by her work colleagues.
Character Equipment: Shotgun, 12 shells (manstopper) Knife x2, stub pistol (prone to jam) ID, Dogtags (stolen from a PDF) a pack of matches, and a home made tear gas grenade.
Character height: 5'10

:O //GASP//
You stealing son of a mum, that's unbelievably lazy.
Either way, I don't really see how Castella will fit into this RP too well.. The blazin' b*tch with the 6+ save and shotgun versus hulking chaos space marines, unstoppable Daemons and with only Piggy available for use as a meatshield?
You've totally forgotten the #1 golden rule of warhams forty million = only superhuman super mega's survive. That and special guardsmen that are secretly under the protection of a 2+ invulnerable save from Tzeentch.
'sides, won't you get bored of using the same character in two different roleplays at the same time? (and you could've used that Daemon prince from the now dead Lords of Chaos. )
/end rant/
Anyway, I look forward to this RP.

Arkus continued his advance down the corridor. There was a staircase ahead that lead up to another platform - he headed up them. At the top, he found to his dismay that it was only another murky corridor of steaming vents and as he listened, he heard far away screams and the sounds of things that should not be. Picking a direction, he headed off.
~~~~~
Just over thirty minutes of walking later, Arkus found himself in a large room. The walls were lined with what looked like living tissue, and the floor was covered in a green liquid. Placing a hand on the hilt of his sword, prepared to draw it, he listened carefully. For a mere second, he heard a sound so quiet, that even a regular space marine would be likely to miss it. It was a hissing sound. Unsheathing his power sword once again, he swung the weapon in a wide arc to his left, and the crackling blade met with the exoskeleton of a shrieking creature that had leaped from a maintenance shaft above him. It shrieked and hissed as it was cut in half, and it fell to the floor - dead. Looking down upon the remains of his assailant, Arkus drew back his lips in a snarl without realizing it. "Genestealers."
As if that was the cue they were waiting for, multiple figures detached themselves from where they were lurking amongst the gloomy infrastructure of the vessel. From all angles they came - service ducts, maintenance shafts, floor panels, other corridors; dozens and dozens of them.
"Come for another go?"
Faster than the fastest Farseer, Arkus whipped his plasma pistol up and fired off a shot, reducing the head and shoulders of a charging Genestealer to slag. Almost simultaneously, he brought his sword up, deflecting a pair of slashing rending claws, and kicking the Tyranid in the chest and then decapitating it with a second swing from his sword. Spinning round, Arkus just had time to see a claw coming down..
Ahh, but Dark, im pretending i never joined your RP, on account of it going pearshaped for me. Plus, if GES can be a prizefighter, why the fek cant i be a local policeman? It just makes it all the more entertaining.
I assume theirs fights going on all over the planet?
IC: "Mag!" Castella bellowed over the roar of the firefight, and in response, an autogun clip sailed through the air, revolving lazily, as if it wasn't in any hurry to get to its destination.
The Precint had been under siege for about two hours now. Cultists had taken the buildings nearby, and were pounding the plascrete surface of the arbites bastion with small arms fire. Of the twenty men that had been manning the precint, 3 lay dead, and 2 were bleeding out in the courtyard outside the safety of the walls of their fortress.
Castella snatched the clip out of the ammo, and rammed it home into the chamber of her weapon. A quick glance at the stencilling on the side of the magazine told her all she needed to know.
"Crowd control?!" she screamed. "What the hell are rubber bullets going to do against them?!"
A large muscled man, whose nose was squashed out of shape turned and looked over to her.
"We're all out of live ammo. We ain't prepared for a full blown siege, blazin'." he snorted, before blindfiring a couple of shots out of the firing slit.
Castella shook her head. It was only a matter of time until the bastards outside caught on that they were firing blanks. They were in serious trouble.
"Alright. Piggy, how are the two outside?"
Piggy risked a furtive glance, before ducking back down quickly.
"Think one of 'ems dead now. the others crawling slowly towards the front gates."
Castella grinned to herself. fething brilliant.
"Listen up!" she yelled over the din of battle. A dozen heads turned in her direction.
"One of our guys is outside, bleeding. He's probably hoping if he gets to the gates, we'll drag him in. If we do that the cultists will get in. So what im really asking here, is does anyone have any real ammo left?"
A wiry man with a long nose, and slightly ratty features raised his hand.
"Good." Castella held out her hand expectantly.
The man sniffed his disapproval, but handed over a handful of autogun rounds.
Castella wasted no time loading them into the breach, before risking a look at their downed man's position. He was close enough, to save, Castella mused. They could probably open the doors, drag him inside, and close the gates behind them before the cultists crossed the distance. But she wasn't going to risk it. Castella aimed down her sights.
A single bullet whistled through the air, and punched straight through the helmet of the wounded man. He spasmed, and then lay still.
Castella ducked back into cover and tried to think of a logical escape route.
OOC- Over the past week or so, I appear to have completly forgotten that i'd signed up for this *smashes head on desk*.
Oh and i'm sorry Ghosty for doing this but I coulnd't come up with a reasonable starting place so i'll just dump myself in your precinct for doing something that ended up with me being in the precinct.
Francis was staring at the ceiling, when he heard the shot ring out "Killed another one of your colleagues Castella?" he shouted, "pretty soon your going to be the only one left." Francis smirked as an angry reply echoed down the hall. "You know you could let me out, I'm sure you could do with the help now that your another man down.
OOC- would post more but I've got house work to do  .
PLAYER EVENT! sorry about the delay As Alex was about to smash down his heavily armoured foot into Kade’s unprotected face, Kade whipped up his laspistol with a tidy precise movement. He let off a double-shot into Alex’s bulky chest, the kinetic force sending Alex reeling. Kade jumped up and turned to face the snarling Chaos Marine. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ruined building Corporal O’malley was ducked down in cover exchanging shots with the oncoming cultists. The vast majority of his squad lay dead or critically injured on the floor whilst those still standing had their own problems to deal with. O’malley glanced at the glowing ammo runes on his lasgun, “Sacred throne.” He muttered under his breath, he only had five shots remaining on his clip. He flicked the setting on the weapon to low-power, full-auto shots. Then, he fitted a frag grenade into his underslung grenade launcher and let fly. Meanwhile, Kade had managed to escape Alex’s savage, clawing attacks, drawing back to a safe distance and bringing up his shotgun, the stock fitting comfortably under his shoulder. Alex, his helmet removed before the fight, squinted at the brave little soldier in front of him. He had his fun, daring him, teasing him... “You think you’re so big.” The words came out in a hiss. “What you don’t realise is the magnitude of your situ-“ His teasing fell silent as a huge bang filled the air, reverberating around the confined space. Kade swiftly reloaded his weapon with a deft movement of the wrist. Then he fired another round and another... Four shots later, there was a dry metal clack signifying the end of the barrage and the end of the shotgun’s clip. Slowly the smoke cleared, a dark figure looming just yards in front of Kade. “What the feth!?” Out of the smoke staggered the cultist, his unarmoured hands and face severely scarred and bloody . He scowled at the guardsmen before falling to the ground. The cultists, turned to Alex's cause ran towards him, laying down cross fire towards the IG. Kade reloaded his shotgun and fired on the heretics, covering O’malley as the injured from his squad were pulled out of harm’s way... Alex is severely wounded, his cultists looking after him. Kade and O'malley are safe, but low on ammo with the vast majority of their squad wounded or dead.
You didn't write whether the event was concluded or not.. and (like I have done before) made a little summary of any affects of the event - for instance, Alex would be severely wounded right now ( btw, I don't think he's a chaos marine nor does he have power armour.. I think..  ).. so I don't see how he would be likely to be able to fight for awhile.. a better event conclusion might have been "the guardsmen dragged their wounded off in a tactical withdrawl, taking potshots and laying down suppressive fire at the cultists.. Alex, presumed dead by Kade was left lying in the ground where he'd fallen, and some cultists dragged him off.."
Now obviously it'd have been longer, and better written than that summary I gave, but oh well.
Oh, I don't mean to criticize everything you write, Ludd, just giving my ideas to help the RP.
..and he leaned backwards slightly to avoid the blow, then brought his power sword up in an attempt to stab the creature squarely in the chest. The Genestealer attempted to dodge, but it had no way of avoiding the blow - the blade plunged into the Tyranid, exploding out of its back. Arkus knocked the corpse away with a backhand blow. Looking ahead, he saw a hulking form lurking at the back of the tide of Genestealers - the patriarch; the broodfather itself had targeted him. If I kill the Broodlord, the lesser Genestealers will be easier prey, he thought. With that, he let out a bloodcurdling warcry, and charged into the Tyranids. A lesser foe would perhaps have quailed before the Blood Angels' fearsome call, but the Genestealers were unperturbed by it. Arkus sent an elbow into the side of a Genestealers' head, sending it realing, firing off his pistol as he did, killing the creature next to it. Claws scraped against his left pauldron, and he swung out, separating the shoulder and arm of a Genestealer from its body. Arkus kept on running, smashing into the creatures ahead, bowling them out of the way. Sensing the beasts closing in all around him, he knew he had to act swiftly. Then, for some reason, the Genestealers merely stopped and stood hissing at him. He was encircled, and the Broodfather stepped forward to face him. Arkus swung his sword, but the massive Broodlord dodged the the blow, and faster than even the Arkus could react brought a heavy claw down - causing three deep gauges on his right breastplate. He brought his right arm up, pulling the trigger of his pistol, but the Broodlord was faster still - the same claw that had damaged his armour was used to deliver a powerful backhand that sent him stumbling backwards - the plasma bolt hitting the ceiling. Arkus holstered his pistol, and instead drew his oldest possession - his chainsword. He revved it in a taunt to his foe. The Broodlord reared back, and let out a roar that would stop armies in their tracks. The two combatants charged simultaneously, and when they met, talon and claw clashed with blade and revving chain. Arkus struck with a downward sweep of his powersword, but the Broodlord parried the blow with a scything talon. Then Arkus swung out with his chainsword, the roaring weapon cutting into the Broodlords' tough exoskeleton - but the strength of the blow cut the bone, and there was a gouge in the exoskeleton where the weapon had struck. But no debilitating damage seemed to have been done, and the Broodlord merely struck out with its left claw, but this time the creatures' weapon merely bounced off the masterfully crafted armour. A talon lashed out, designed to impale Arkus, but this too was deflected by the ancient armour. Arkus raised both of his weapons, and brought them down diagonally, each one knocking away a talon and claw, leaving the broodlord exposed - in that instant he struck, bringing his powersword round again, into the opening created by his chainsword. The sword became embedded in the behemoths mid-section, but still the Broodlord would not die. It forced itself further onto the weapon, so as to get closer to the Blood Angel. It screamed out in obvious pain, but it forced itself onward anyway. It swung, but Arkus dodged, and brought the chainsword up in a wide arc, into the side of the Broodlords' head, the chain-weapon making short work of the Tyranids' brain, sending ichor and gore flying to the ground around the combatants.
IC: Mal finished up bandaging Paulson's left arm. The arm was almost useless, and without proper medical attention it would be for the rest of the mans life, however short and miserable it may be.
Standing up he strode to the second story window of the building they took cover in, he surveyed the city.
"Alright ladies, I can see the Rendezvous. lets get street side and see if we can't find anyone else alive. Need all the ammo we can get, The boys won't mind....."
O'malley picked up the four power packs laying on the windowsill then walked back over to Paulson, Mal hoisted him to his feat and handed him a Laspistol and power pack.
"Sun's almost down, hardly any charge on any of these..." Mal said solemnly, "Gotta make it last though, just a few more blocks to go."
Mal shot a glance towards Kade. "I still can't believe your not dead.... Damn fine job trooper. You coming along for the ride?" he said as he tossed one of the Smaller energy cells designed for a Laspistol towards the man.
With that Mal loaded and slung his Lasgun over his shoulder and drew his Autopistol, and began to head down the stairs.
OOC: I has prisoners! *happy bunny*
IC: The cultists had caught onto the fact they weren't using live ammo. They were leaving their buildings and advancing solemnly across the street, arms raised to the sky, screaming devotions to whatever twisted beings they worshipped.
Of the Enforcers, only seven were left. After Castella had shot a fallen comrade, one of the greasy bastards across the street had launched a missile into the precinct, which had blown a chunk of her comrades apart, and more importantly, had deactivated the power routed towards the cells, and now the prisoners were running riot.
Castella swung her shotgun round in a tight arc, and smashed a man with a face not dissimilar to a bulldog, to the ground. Sure we're out of live ammo, Castella mused, But manstopper rounds still can cause damage.
A man with hands like dinner plates ran past, heading for the door. Piggy, deftly stepped out of no where, tripped him up and smashed a powermaul into the back of his head. The prisoner convulsed, but it was already clear he was dead. You could rarely survive a strike to the head from Castella's second in command. From below there was a dull thumping on the door. The cultists were trying to get in.
"Arbites! Downstairs, now!" She yelled over the ruccus.
The six remaining men in her command moved as one, shooting, or beating any prisoner to the ground that got in their way. When the team reached the stairwell, they charged downstairs and into the lobby. The front door was buckling from the force of the blows.
Piggy vaulted over the reception desk, and rummaged below. He pulled out two iron cases, and began to enter a pin combination to unlock them. Stencilled on the side of each case was a name:
- V.I.N.C.E -
on one, and on the other
- B.U.L.L.S.E.Y.E -
With a click, the cases swung open, and Piggy pulled out a pair of folded up objects; all wires, and legs. The thick set man pressed a big red and forboding button on the bottom of the objects, and the machines flickered into life. The pair of cyber mastiffs unfolded, and flickered into life. They sat on the reception, with mechanical tails wagging, and with curiously mechanical barks being emitted from their throats.
Castella glanced back at the door. The hinges were almost gone. It felt like time for a dramatic speech.
"Lads, powermauls on full charge. Kick 'em in the nuts and brain them with the maul. If I dont see a pile of wimpering bastards on the floor in thirty seconds, your all fired!"
A couple of laughs barked out.
Castella pulled a gas grenade from its fastening and prepared to pull the pin. The doors creaked ominously.
Riot shields were lifted, powermauls flicked onto life.
A hinge went.
Shotguns were loaded, Vince and Bullseye's mechanical targeting apparatus narrowed in anticipation.
The other hinge went. The door fell, and all chaos was let loose.
I have been very busy, sorry about the delay!
As the drop pod screamed down from the heavens, Felis began to formulate a strategy. There is a Chaos Cultist war band assaulting a fortress, and he would land right into the thick of it. He had forgone his normal Terminator armor for something less clunky, a suit of power armor. The light flashed green. 300 meters to impact. He hefted his Axe and prepared for the doors to open. The drop pod fell to the ground with a sickening thunk. The pod doors opened, and Felis was ready for the hordes.
"FOR THE EMPEROR!" He screamed, as his axe cleaved though flesh like a knife through warm butter. All around him were the dead and dying. He stormed through the streets, his body covered in the gore of the unholy. The targeter on his helmet readout sensed heat signatures on the other side of the door to the Prison. There were also 2 beast like creatures who gave of lots of heat. "Foul warp beasts. Soon, you will fall." He placed his axe on his back, and began to slam down the door. The first hinge broke easily. The next hinge snapped off. He barged through the door looking for Cultists. He found, however, survivors.
Alex hid behind the ruins and sighed heavily, he picked up some broken glass and looked at his reflection. Blood was poring from his nose and he was covered in cuts. For normal Guardsmen they could fight! He mused on what to do next and then a familiar voice barked in his ear.
"Are we just going to sit down all day or are going to go kill them?"
Alex turned around and saw nobody.
"I'm on your battle-barge you idiot."
Alex sighed, and pushed himself up.
"Okay were now?" Alex replied
" There is a large park that has been used as a rendezvous before in the past"
A large grin spread over Alex's face as he realised the Guardsmen must be heading there, he put on his helmet and gauntlets and sped off in the direction.
How is Alex a CSM, exactly? He was an Imperial Guardsman that killed a 10,000 year old champion of Khorne..somehow.. and was then possessed/tainted. In no part of his life did he become a CSM. And before anyone comes up with a solution, candidates for Space Marines must be around 10-16ish when they're selected. Sorry to reign on your parade, but that's just what I do. Edit: He could perhaps have been given gifts of chaos to make him stronger, though, so we could just say he's stronger than a normal human and has armour.. but not power armour.
OOC: I assume it's us Felis has met-I'll act on the assumption it is.
IC: Kade nearly fell of the rubble he was perched on as the Marine fumbled his way into the room, yelping with surprise. The rest of the squad was caught just as unawares, raising ther weapons in a meek attempt to stave off any attackers. After seeing that the Astartes was on their side, Kade mumbled "at least this one thinks the Emperor is actually quite a nice guy", feeling a bit vunerable without his helmet that had been lost in the brawl earlier. Carious approached the Astartes, giving a low bow, and conversed for a while. Kade watched on Idly, as did O'malley, and the veteran began to wonder about what had happened to that Word Bearers fleet tactical had showed him earlier. Ah well, no use worrying about it now. After a while , Carious returned to the squad. "Listen up Lad's! Lord Felis of His holy chapter of the Ultramarines here has agreed to accompany us till we reach rendezous, so I don't want anyone showing us up here, got it?" he balked, with more than a little bit of Sweat evident on his face. "Yeah, we can't let the marine stake all the credit this time" mumbled a trooper to the left of Kade, who he had identified earlier as Paulson, prompting a chuckle from the other squadee's. Carious just glared at him.
OOC (again): Sorry if that was a bit rushed, I didn't really feel like writing much tonight. Also, if you're interested this is roughly how I imagine Kade's face looking like:
Well i think Felis can appear to LLF, considering i was a lazy sod and didn't post any acknowledgement. Plus, this means i can has a lovely fight  and of course, i think maybe another arbite's gonna go down in a suitably grotesque way.
IC:
"FIRE" Castella and Piggy screamed in unison, as the first cultist, a withered man with bloody ritual scarring across his chest charged in. The cresendo of shotguns being fired in response was deafening in the small enclosed space. The leading cultist was thrown bodily back into the press of madmen trying to get in. He was hastily left on the ground where he landed, and was soon trampled by the charging horde. An arbite (Castella had never bothered to learn names) with a riot shield mulched his maul into a naked man with daubed glyphs on his forehead. To her left, Another Cultist went down to a punch to the windpipe. But the press of bodies was evidently too much. Castella stabbed downwards suddenly, plucking a mans eye from its socket. Her adversary didn't even have time to react, as a strike from the butt of a shotgun brought him down. The prisoners were pressing down the stairwell, itching to get their own back. The two cybernetic hounds vaulted forwards, and with mechanical precision, neatly severed the jugular on two separate cultists simultaneously in a fountain of blood.
The arbites were quickly going to be surrounded, as ex-prisoners pushed in on one side, and Blood crazed killers pushed from another. Castella pulled the pin on her Gas grenade, and lobbed it amongst the feet of the cultists. It blew up in an explosion of thick green gas that blinded and incapacitated with deadly effect. The arbites, with their protective visors took the advantage of the sudden lapse in the assault. However, Castella, Piggy and another Arbite, some Rookie who still had delusions of Piety, had forgone wearing masks. Castella staggered, her arm clenched over her eyes to try and prevent the burning sensation. Piggy, a true knuckle head ine very respect, ignored the fact his eyes were screaming in protest, and battered onwards. The new guy was curled up on the ground crying. Vince bit a cultist kneecap off. It looked as if the Arbites would win; they were causing massive damage to the unresisting Cultists, taking bloody revenge for each Enforcer that had fallen. Castella sunk to her knees. The gas was causing her throat to contract, and cause her to choke. Even Piggy was beginning to feel adverse effects. Bullseye removed a hand at the wrist in an almost leisurely way. The gas was beginning to clear, and a few of the Harder cultists were slowly staggering back into combat.
Castella got back to her feet, and, to regain as much of her reputation, shot a prisoners head clean off with her stubb pistol.
A terrible laugh echoed through the Precinct, and the melee that had began to regain momentum faltered, and then stopped. Something was standing in the thresh hold of the entrance. Its body encased in heavy powered armour, and adorned with severed heads. Its blood red armour glistened in the murky light of the Precinct. In each hand it held a huge and terrible Chain blade, and axe in one hand, a sword in the other. Chunks of flesh hung from both. The world eater let out another laugh, before he leapt squarely into the staring humans.
As he landed, he crushed a prisoner under his iron boot, and, lashing out with his revving weapons, he drew blood and severed limbs with every stroke. An arbite was torn clean in two at the waist, a scream rising in his throat. A cultist, whom was screaming thanks to the gods, lost the top of his head as the chainsword screamed past. In three seconds three arbites had gone down, the rest had chosen the clever idea of slipping out of the Precinct surreptitiously. As Castella led the few survivors away down a nearby street at breakneck speed, the World eater carried on slashing and sawing away and the now trapped humans within.
Also, the planet is under attack and therefore, a full garrison is in place. alongside various extra contigents... The sky is full of aircraft and tanks lay ready for battle in the scrubland. "souped up"
While he was a guardsman, in his picture he has Chaos marine armour, no? So I propose he was given "speshul armah" by Khorne for killing the Skull Champion (unheard of forever and a day) and he took the Champions' chainaxe. I see no reason for it to be a Daemon weapon, as there's really no way a normal human could control the Daemon within (it's too powerful!). That's why only Chaos Lords have 'em. Initiative 4: no normal human is that fast (except Inquisitors, but they're just silly with their outdated codecies). The Khornate Gauntlets are what is possessing him into slaughter and the worship of Khorne. I suppose they could grant +1 I but I'm not sure that'd be the best thing. A: 2 is fine, because there's no way that he's as furious or viscious as Calgar.
You need to play into your character a bit more. With the game stats we're making here, you're making him stronger than he should be/is/needs to be. He'll kill anything that gets in his way anyway, and his greater speed and savagery when the blood starts to flow is represented by Furious Charge.
As for W: 2, that's just a  . He's not physically tough enough to take that much damage (he's not gonna survive more point-blank bolter rounds than a space marine!).
I've thought of something you might like, however:
Gauntlets of Slaughter - the wearer has the Feel No Pain Universal Special Rule on a turn he charges into an assault.
^ represents the Gauntlets driving him into such a frenzy he doesn't notice the pain of the wounds inflicted on him.
At present, I think the profile I've got is
The remaining Tyranids suddenly all screeched in pain, the psychic backlash of the death of the Patriarch driving them mad with pain. Reducing them all momentarily to easy prey, he took advantage - hacking and slashing all about himself, soon a dozen lay dead beneath his feet. The remaining Genestealers recovered their wits and charged, but all were eventually overcome by Arkus' greater strength and ferocity. He continued onward down another corridor, almost certain he could hear more hisses echoing around him, and he made sure to check every bulkhead, maintenance shaft and vent as he passed them; however nothing attempted another attack. He wandered for a long while before encountering anything of interest; as he turned a corner it opened up into a wide, open space before him. From his vantage point high above the floor of this gargantuan room, he spied on those below. He bared his teeth in a silent snarl at what he saw: traitors, and lots of them. He seemed to be in a large hanger or launch bay - there were two Thunderhawks below, and it seemed they were being fueled up and loaded. One - far longer than the other - carried two Land Raiders underneath it, the other a standard Gunship; horrifically desecrated, but nonetheless, quite recognisable. Doing a quick estimate, he counted around three or four dozen. Referring to logic, he believed this correct, as the Thunderhawk Gunship could only transport roughly thirty Astartes. He grimaced as he accepted that even he, with his enhanced body on account of the blessed Geneseed that ran through his vains, would be hard-pressed to take on so many at once. He noted a figure that seemed to eminate foul power as he began to call to the other traitors. The thirty-odd Word Bearers assembled in ranks infront of the man, who wielded a weapon once holy but now defaced: a Crozias Arcanum. The thought that a Chaplain, one who should be amongst the most faithful of a chapter, could fall to the blasphemous promises of Chaos sicked him to his core. As he watched, the Dark Apostle began to speak - foul words of praise to the pantheon of the Chaos Gods. Restraining himself with barely contained rage, and hate for those who had turned their backs on the Emperor of mankind who without they would not be here, he began to formulate a plan... he could not allow these foul traitors to set foot upone whatever planet lay below - for surely there could be no other reason for the presence of the Gunships.
OOC: Sorry for not posting, I completely forgot  . Also, I apologise in advance for any spelling or grammer mistakes, as I'm unable to use a computer proper ATM and so have to type everything from my Ipod.
IC: Kade trudged miserably along the ruined street, idly sweeping his shotgun in wide arcs. The other 6 or so members of the squad, including O'Malley and Carious, walked with him, all looking equally fed up. Kade had no idea where the Astartes had gone, but doubtlesss they were off making everyone kiss their ass.
After what seemed like hours, they came to the smouldering remains of an Arbite precint.It was obviously abandoned, it's inhabitents no doubt slain by the invaders, but it seemed like an acceptable location to male camp for the night. After setting down a makeshift bedspread and stocking up on ammo, Kade noticed a dscarded helmet lying around that matched the one he had lost earlier. Walking over to collect it, Kade visibly jumped as a voice behind broke the silence-O'malley.
"With no offence ment, trooper, how the throne are you not dead? A spawn ambushes your squad and tears through them like they're paper, yet you survive. A chosen of the blood god attacks you, but once again you get out okay-why?"
Kade smiled. "Perhaps I'm just lucky, Corporal. Or perhaps." Be added, as he clicked the helmet into place, "There is a god watching over me after all."
"It looked like an acceptable location to male camp for the night."
If the level of quality of jokes required to make me laugh wasn't so high, I would've laughed at that. But as I didn't, yet still found it funny, you can pretend that I am one of the four little green laughers above this paragraph.  <-- or that one.
Funny typo is funny.
QUICK! SOMEONE SIGGY IT BEFORE IT IS FIXED!
 @myself. I blame this on exhaustion and having to type on the worlds most ******** keyboard. Irritatingly, as my Ipod is failtastic and won't let me select just one bit to delete (I'd have to get rid of everything after it as well), I won't be able to fix it for a while.
And to anwer any queries, no I am not homosexual (not that I have anything against people who are, obviously).
Well, as far as words go, that sounded sarcastic  . It wasn't meant to be  .
Man, it's like there's been a RP halt recently.
Well, almost.
What your problem is Dark, is that you point out when something's stopped, but you dont do anything about it.
IC: Most of the Arbites had been killed in the Precinct. The swirling melee had caused most of her soldiers to go down fast. Of her survivors, one was missing an arm, and another, the rookie who'd been on the force less time than the average life expectancy of a grot, was completely blinded by the gas. Piggy and the weasely man were still in one piece, and the two cybernetic hounds, apart from slight jaw cloggage due to copious amounts of gristle, were online and running. Castella sighed deeply, and looked out of the shattered window of the hab block they had taken refuge in. In the distance there was the occasional staccato of fire, but things seemed to be quietening down for the night.
Castella switched her comm link on and cycled through all the channels. Most of the official channels were spewing reports on fatality numbers and predictions, as well as the production quotas. On the arbite channel she heard only the screams for forgiveness and the revving of multiple chainblades.
Nope. They were really quite alone out here tonight, and without weapons, they were in deep sh*t.
"Do nothing about it,"? I posted IC earlier, and it's 9pm and I'm gonna get some food in about 10 minutes.
Not sure what you mean by doing nothing about it, nor why you imply it is a fault I have that shows up often - enlighten me with some examples?
Anyway, grumble over, I've been reading the Ultramarines omnibus recently. Anyone else read it? Personally, I think it's brilliant. (Well, that was random. Then again, it is me, isn't it?  )
OOC-Just out of interest as I have no idea, where would the arbites put people's belongings e.g. pistol/shotgun/sword. As i would like to have all the facts straight before getting Francis out of his cell, BEFORE the angry ex-marine tries to pummel him.
You mean "evidence" or things owned by prisoners? I'd imagine put to the torch if it's heretical, or stored in some locker or room. "Evidence locker/ARMOURY"
Post by: ghosty
Indeed! Arbits dont torch things that can be useful. Just be mindful most of its been stolen and used in the firefight. Only stuff there will be weapons with unusual ammo, that wouldn't fit in Arbite gear, and maybe a couple of combat weapons.
