Just had a new Forgeworld goodie described to me....
Apparently, it looks kind of like a cross between a mechanical Trygon, and a Centipede, replete with large 'feelers'. And the overlook is seemingly more organic in shape than the Tomb Spyder.
We are to expect this after Games Day.

To which I still say - why. I like the aesthetic that Necrons have no - hard angles, defined simplistic lines, not a lot of flash or fancy additions - a efficient and cold visual style to match their cold and efficient nature. It makes things like Flayed Ones all the more creepy.

The level of detail and coolness that would be made possible by making them more like an abstracted skeleton and less like a simplified one is huge. It ISN'T a proper leak. Proper leaks are hints and sneak peaks from Gamesday, releases from GW etc.
This is just a random crappy photo, of the worst clarity ever, showing anything and been posted to create some kind of rumour. Why a close up of the pic? Why not the whole page? Could be a photo of a bed bug for all we know!
It also looks nothing like the concept Tomb Stalker picture, the only resemblanc it can confer is it has more than two legs!

The problem I have with the picture is that it's far too blurry for it to be a Necron model, a Nid model, even a GW/Forgeworld model. This is why everybody is showing disbelief. We all know Forgeworld are working on a Necron model as it was mentioned at US Games Day but I think it's hard to put this picture to that rumour due to how good GW are at keeping things under wrap now.

Just because you have a rumor that there's a necron model coming from forgeworld and a picture of a forgeworld model doesn't mean they're automatically the same thing. Forgeworld can be working on more than one thing, you know.
Nobody is arguing that forgeworld isn't working on a new necron model, just that this isn't it. It doesn't "clearly connect" to previous rumors until you have actual evidence of a connection. Until then, they are 2 separate rumors that may or may not even be related. There could simply be more than one new forgeworld models coming out.
I really think it's a nid. The talons are a spitting image for the BFG hive ship tentacles and the backplates have a faint ridge that's reminiscent of nid MC backplates. Now, if it IS a necron, it's big news, because it confirms a MAJOR change in overall style for them.

If a Catachan Devil were originally a Tyranid beast, it's so far gone from that it would be devoured by the rest of a Hive Fleet as nothing but prey.
Plus; there's nothing on the docket for awhile for Tyranids from FW. GW's supposedly got a Tervigon and Tyrannofex kit lined up for release at "an undisclosed time".
FW has stated they've moved away from doing "gapfillers", and are just going to be doing their own thing from henceforth.

It's an unpainted, resin model. Not an artist's colored rendition. Plus, new Necrons might not even have a green glow.
Tyranids are more dinosaur than bug. This looks way too bug-like to be Tyranid.
I can totally see them taking the 'buglike Matrix robots' road with Necrons.
 The biggest hint that tells me this is a Necron is the fact the person who captured the pic says "This is pic of the new Necron Tomb Stalker." (A unit which already looks like an insect.) And since Necrons are the only race besides DE that are reported to be near completion with a new Codex and models, we can only conclude that this must be a Tyranid Catachan Devil? A unit that doesn't exist in an army that already got its 5th ed codex? Since you've seen the photo itself but could only take such sized pic, what did the rest of the model look like on paper? How many legs? Giant guns strapped to the sides? Any sort of crystals IE monolith style to give the dead giveaway 'Oh yeah, that is definitely Necron'
I'm definitely wondering why there are antennae unless this thing will be like a Necron rc car used to just zip into imperial lines and cause a fuss then pulled out.

Crystals are really only on the things that have Gauss weaponry.
Talking more about their constructs for the crystals. Eloquent spines and the skeletal body makeup help define the infantry but when it comes to the constructs that is a whole new area. Just throwing out ideas to help keep the nay sayers away.

If you look at the top left hand corner of the picture, about where the "shoulder" would be, just on top of the 2nd leg down, it looks like a heavy gauss cannon, minus the green crystal rods. I know, I know, most of you will say, "it's just part of the leg Salacious...". Except all the legs come from underneath the carapace as far as I can tell in the picture. Too grainy to be sure, but give it a good look. Looks like they took it off a destroyer and it will be "shoulder" mounted on this guy, most likely one on each shoulder. Pretty awesome actually.
On another note, just think if this thing can transport troops around, shoot AND then fight in an assault. Because hey, who says robots in the far future don't ride giant millipedes? The guys in Dune rode giant worms after snorting the residue they leave behind. Maybe they have 'pimp my millipede' competitions when the Tomb Lord is deactivated for his monthly down cycle.

Tyranid stuff is more organic. Even the overlapping armor plates you see on things like the Carnifex or Warrior/Tyrants "blend" into each other. They don't suddenly terminate like they do here.

I know , but scarabs are still in theme to Egyptian theme , but roaches are abit far stretched.

I kinda doubt it. This is a one-off from FW, not anything from GW. Unless 'crons become FW only (and if they do, you heard it here first! ) then the chance of them changing the whole look based on a single model is... unlikely, to say the least. Also, I got more a centipede vibe than roach vibe from the picture, which would work a bit better with the Egyptian theme.

Scarabs and Tomb Spyders are only vaguely bug-like. They still look like robots.
What I meant was that if they start putting antennae and organic-carapace-things on the 'cron stuff, they won't stop. Every new Necron unit will drip with the bug-theme, just like BA and SW are overloaded with blood and werewolf references respectively. 'Crons could become "robo-tyranids."
The bug-robots are okay, I just don't want GW/ FW to over-do it.

You want to see attitude, look in the mirror. "This was never up for debate" is attitude. Citing the first post as evidence of the veracity of the very same post is circular logic. If Mr. Mystery is right, then awesome, he gets some clout and we can be a lot more trusting of him in the future, but the first time you post a rumor, people should not just take what you say as fact. This is why you have threads like this, so we can debate the details of the picture and the story we're given. If it was just supposed to be treated as fact, the thread would be locked after 1 post.
On topic, once you're looking for it, that necron gun arm does seem pretty clear and the eyes seem like the tomb spider ones. I'm not totally switching sides yet because somebody has to keep you guys from believing everything a random dude says. There's something to be said for seeing what you want to see, but yeah, the picture where the arm is circled presents a solid case for necron. That said, those backplates still look like nid backplates and the talons look a LITTLE like tomb spider claws and a lot like nid hiveship tentacles.
If it's a catachan devil, it's not really huge news, since it would obviously be a special apoc model and very few of us would play with it, but if it's necron, it confirms a really cool new direction in necron models that I'd be happy to see, meaning that even the regular necron should look more organic in their new release. As for the idea that it would have to be a one off, that MAY be the case, but remember that GW and FW are a LOT closer than they used to be, so I wouldn't be so sure that this isn't the new look.
TL : DR version, don't be mean to doubters and if it's necron, it's much bigger news than if it's tyranid.

Well this gives me the opportunity to quote some 2 month old Necron rumours by Lotoc_Sabbath over at Warseer:
First and most important of all: Necrons are (note they are, not they maybe are) on the way of being released between January and May 2011: this information is the only one that I have which is certain but you can be sure on this, trust me, Necrons are on the way of coming to us.
Just a few details that I have been able to get from my sources:
*there will be a new vehicle and a MC sized creature
*there will be immortals and flayed ones in plastic
*warriors will return being one of the best, maybe the best, troop in 40k, although their points will be increased.
*we will be able to see some type of special lords or characters
*there will be some type of psychic upgrades to a few units (lords and pariahs in particular)
*we will very probably be able to see different tired lords

Clearly, the image has qualities that are not typical for a Necron model, blurry as it is.
All we have is the OP's assertion that it is a Necron model, and the promise that there is a new Necron Apoc thing coming from FW. Why is this particular OP so obviously telling the truth? Plenty of other threads on here with supposedly well-researched leaks/reveals get quite a bit more salt than this one. I don't get it.

I also don't see the big design shift if this is a Necron. The only Necron model that's incredibly angular is the Monolith. Everything else has at least partially curved armour. Tyranids hardly have a lock on overlapping armour plates.

Well obviously neither GW nor FW will be doing any Necron models ever. Word on the wise is the entire DE range is being redone and the codex is due November, even though we haven't seen a single pic or any official word from GW. Not even a blurry one.

I think it looks Necronish, but I'm not going to cry if it turns out to be something else. It could be weird though if the Necrons were intentionally assimilating Tyranids a la the Pariahs. Because didn't the 'nids assimilate something from the Necrons?
Hey, I got it! The Inquisition should just try and get the Nids and Necrons into a cycle of mutual assimilation until they inbreed both armies into oblivion. And in the mean time GW can make a mint selling 6th toe bits to retrofit all Necron and Tyranid armies to remain tournament legal!
