OK, here are the first squad of soul starting with the HQ unit not done the space marine librarian Sarpedon as aim making tow custom one’s before and after. Plus my finshed iron clad dreadnought
5 Space marine man squad and a apothecary plus company champion. I will have them paint in a week or so, and will post the end job.

OK lads this is my frist full finshed SM off my soul drinkers how they are going to look and feel and based the lot. hope you guys like.
Apothecary Pallas. He developed a way to halt the mutation of the Soul Drinkers. Joined Eumenes in the Second Chapter War, citing the reason that he couldn't bear to watch his Chapter dwindle and die out in Sarpedon's wars. Chose to remain with the Chapter in the Aftermath of the Chapter War to atone for his sins.
Ugh those green bases. Bases (and their rims) should never be in bright, saturated colors like that. It detracts from the miniature. Try using Graveyard Earth, a grey, or a darker, more muted green. It'll let people focus on your models more.
I love the soul drinkers. Wanted an army of them for myself. Ultimately, I have too many projects for the space marines alone and had to drop them from the list (BA, Salamanders, Lamenters, and Tempest Guard [my own brew]). So far I like what im seeing. Are you casting your own pieces? I like the pre-heresy feel some of the characters have (at least it seems that way) with different helmets and gear. I look foward to seeing more progress on this army.
I know it's not officially the chapter colors, but I really prefer Soul Drinkers with lot more gold trim. I have about 750 points of them in my taskforce and they are a slightly deeper shade of purple with gold trim at almost every oppurtunity. The gold really makes it Soul Drinker for me, even if it's not as fluff friendly.
hey Draglide12 yep i have to say, i did the same gold and more gold but the paint time was to long these pictures were my test models.

Hey Samus_aran115 The great thing about the soul drinkers is that you can play them as good or bad. but i like the idea off them good i almost finshed the Inquisition from the book and his MAD ass gun!
Yeah, there are so many possibilities with the Soul Drinkers. You can have them pre-rebellion loyal standard marines, mutated or non mutated rogue non-chaos marines, or mutated/non-mutated chaos marines. No matter which way you go it fits with the fluff. A Sergeant Tellion HQ would be an utterly badass model. Terminator legs with no other armor and craptons of GS genebulking. Twin chainblades. Captain Sarpedon too. Just converting eight tyranid legs to his bottom would make him, and you could choose whether or not to take the bionic leg.

I havent read the omnibus in atwo years I think. Currently working on the Lost right now. I'll re-read it sometime to refresh my fluff and I ordered the 4th book. My first marines out of AOBR were Soul Drinkers, painted the Sergeant and captain first. I was going to make the sergeant Tellos but decided to stick with just a few standard Soul Drinkers at first. The nob arm with the big chain choppa and the warboss arm with the shoota would be great arms for Tellos if you could convert the weapons.
My imperial taskforce is odd. It currently consists of: loyalist Soul Drinkers that survived the chapter war, Iron Knights seeking revenge on the rogue Soul Drinkers for disgracing Dorn, and a single combat squad and Dreadnought of marines ordered by the inquisition and trained to counter Soul Drinker tactics.

I like the Dread alot.....clearly by the fact that they even have a dread, you are pre Sarpedon and all the stuff in the novels. The color scheme is nice, and you leave alot of options open for modeling Tellos, Sarpedon, Gravis, and all the rest of em.

-- Saw your newest pics, love the models. I also like that you are playing them as a good army. My ideas for my own Soul Drinkers involved using Chaos bodies and arms, but then backpacks, shoulder pads, and helmets were all form the Imperium. I think it would have turned out nicely I wanted to do that to convey the idea of the chapter being exhiled and also so I could add more gold trim to the army.
Anyway, I am in the process of writing and creating fluff for the Tempest Guard. I stumbled onto the idea for the army while wanting to collect the Night Lords, then I just decided that I didnt like chaos and wanted to stick with SM. So I expanded on the lightning color scheme and ultimately, the Tempest Guard were born. I know one of the general themes to the army is that their homeworld is a small planet with several moons, but has no exposure to sunlight. It has a real high precipitation rate annually. They excel at covert/night operations and rarely use tanks or bikes, but prefer jump packs and the use scouts. I will be posting a WIP thread in about 3 months, a long time from now I know, but keep you eyes open for it.
I like the sound of the TG, Aim an INSANE fan of night lords and there books.
Aim using magnet for all the ASM so I can take off the jump packs and keep them as normal if I what to. Once the mould is done off the blood angel jump packs they will be ready to kick ass.
I used DOW2 army paint to see how my boyz world looks, before I started painting them give it a try good fun

Soul Drinker fluff in one forum post: The Soul Drinkers recieved a tip that an artefact once used by Dorn(or some primarch anyway) in battle. It was a weapon of massive power: The Void Spear. The Soul Drinkers invaded an orbital platform to retrieve the weapon but Mechanicus personel teleported onboard at the last minute, stole the artefact, and teleported back to the nearby Mechanicus fleet. The Soul Drinkers confronted the Mechanicus and were denied the weapon, so they proceded to blast the imperial/mechanicus fleet to smithereens and then disapeared into space.
The Chapter master of the Soul Drinkers was outraged that the Soul Drinker taskforce (led by chief librarian and captain Sarpedon) would shame the chapter by turning on the imperium. A chapter war ensued in which the Soul Drinkers chapter master, along with half of the loyalist chapter were killed, and Sarpedon took control of the chapter.
The Soul Drinkers abandoned their fleet and were led to a supermassive space hulk (really, it was huge, bristling with guns). They believed they were beiong guided by the emperor though it turned out just to be a massively powerful greater daemon. The Soul Drinkers led by Sarpedon killed the greater demon as well as one of Nurgle's greater demons, then set off to find a way to stop their unstoppable mutaions that the greater daemon had caused. (Captain Sarpedon had grown eight chitinous legs and one of his sergeants experienced out of contol muscle growth, for example)
The Soul Drinkers were able to cure the mutation but had to leave Sergeant Tellos and many others behind to die. The Soul drinkers later found Tellos and his men again and it turns out they had turned to one of the Chaos Gods to save their lives (presumably Khorne I believe) The SOul Drinkers left the planet they happened to be on which was collapsing into the warp thanks to Some random Dark Eldar and was about to undergo exterminatus courtesy of the Inquisition. The Soul Drinker space hulk now called brokenback went down to pick up Sarpedon and the chapter and politely informed the nearby Inquisition and Crimson Fists fleets that they would cease to exist if they got in their way.
Ah many peeps think that because of the chalice, they get that name from there over active Omophagea gland that mean, they see the whole life of the person they drink, IE their SOUL..... So very very kool. Hell forged was awesome too lad.
Yep they have the soul spear it a weapon beyond all other that I have read of. I would say though that the Spear of Telesto is more powerful and that say some think.
It's kinda funny that this topic was started at this time, since I happen to be commissioning an entire souldrinker army for a buddy of mine right now. I've got a tac squad and chaplain done so far. His are going to be post heresy pre-getting their entire chapter almost destroyed souldrinkers. He is also gonna run them as blood angels.
What you see is all I've got so far, although I am currently working on a terminator squad. After that will be 2 assault squads. I'm not sure why I didn't file off the drops, he wasn't super specific about what all he wanted, and he's terrible at making decisions. I asked him what he wanted me to paint next and he didn't even know lol.
I use Hexed Lichen (vallejo) followed by a black wash for the main color. The black wash is nice since it allows me to highlight with the original color. And yeah, more low key base edging such as black or brown is nicer on a mini since it kind of frames the mini and your eye is drawn upward.

I have just 3 tanks one that will break down every other turn, only ammo for half a battle and it would be mostly scouts and 5 jump pack for my whole army?
I know it normally bone. But aim going by the space marine how to paint book. for 10th to 1st company colour and marking so it all fits for me. I like the feel it give them all.

About the BlackWatch thing, it's my airsoft team. We named ourselves as sort of a tribute to the Royal BlackWatch, because many of us have Scottish heritage on the team. We wear it with pride too because I can say without a doubt we are the best team in the state. Even at bigger games with upwards of 100 people the organizers have started to try and split us up when they can because we always win
The work so far! the inside is done! I have wired up the inner ligths and the head ligths. plus the magnet to stick the comm's and search ligth can be on or off for night fights.
Need a spears part’s of the storm bolter so fixed up a mould last night and made a copy.
Can make the rocket and storm bolter and magnet them on and off.
Some one PM about magnet I deleted it my mistake, so how ever you are lad sorry about that, I got them from eBay and miniwargaming small ones £5 for 100 3mm and £8 for 50 5mm ones hope that helps lad,
I really wanna go back to my SD and give them more love. I really wish I have spent more time painting them as they were kinda rushed.

Also mine all have drop pods. At the time the only drop pod was the FW one so I scratched them all outta card (as shown in my pic), I'm tempted to replace all those too.
Soul Hunter awesome stuff... I like your pushing of the boundaries with LED's and stuff. Word to the Wise be careful copying GW originals, they can get funny about that as it is technically their IP.
Your troops look really good on page 1, an observation rather than a criticism is that you have painted the Bolters the same colour scheme. A nice counterpoint to the mini is to have another colour, I would suggest Black Bolters with Sliver and Boltgun metal pieces, it is your choice, but if you look at most really top mini's they counterpoint the armour with a complimentary colour (Red, Black, Silver or dark green) for the weapon.
Your LED force leader with PW and SB looks awesome, is it a bit shiny? or is it a trick of the camera? If like it shiny thats cool, however if you want to have a more natural look a quick light spray of dullcote will sort it out.
Really good stuff, I loved the soul drinker books. Sarpedon will make a beautiful conversion and there are so many characterful marines in the books you can have some real fun.

The GW Ip is fine you my , copy, mould , make Titians, building even cloths and shoes with there ip on, but if you even so much as give it to some one for cash, or food, or even a hot meal there storm strike you ass and bomb you whole family in to ash and dust
The soul drinker normal guns colour is sliver and bronze or with black as well lad. and the trim is bone! But I like the sliver and bronze guns but not the bone trim so i use the space marine how to paint space marine for the trim and squad insignia for itch company from 10th to 1st.
Ah dullcote was what i was looking for thanks for the head up, i use GW varnish but it teed to burn the eyes like the sun lol.
Yep I talked to Ben counter at games day i gave him one off my models the best one i ever painted don’t know if he binned it or keep it but , he did like it I think.
Hows the Project coming along? Its been over a month so I am guess all kinds is going on. I will be back in Early May and I want to finish my Thunderhawk and then look at some LED based madness...yup, you inspired me .
I think some GK Termies with Bright Blue LED's for eyes / Holocaust aura, might be in order.
