Hey everyone!
I've seen a whole bunch of these threads for pretty much every 40k army, but never one for necro or =I=munda. With the amazing P&M blogs that keep coming up (*cough* PDHkonfbehindthmaskmodhailmigsulajackanory *cough*), I figured maybe we were missing out on some gangs that already exist! So please post your gangs or gangers here, and I totally won't steal all your ideas. You can always trust an underhive promise!

Oh God, yeah, the list is far from complete - they were just a few names that came to mind! There's a lot of other awesome work out there too
I don't think I've seen shockwave's necromunda stuff though, only his awesome nurgle orks - I'll have to check it out when I get back from work.

No worries! Your scavvies are some of the most original sculpts I've seen on Dakka.
You're supposed to post your pictures though
If this doesn't generate much interest I'll add a few of my own, but I was hoping I could bury them in later pages...

Post by: PDH
Ok Scarper good idea and because it sounds like you're ill you've twisted my arm....but you had better put up some of your guys too (which really don't deserve to be buried)!
In all honesty though this is just an excuse not to paint my scavvy dog handler. Because I cracked and bought some Kabelite Warriors and I know I should be modelling scavvy dogs (which I am putting off... if anyone has any hints as to how I build a bionic claw for a warg let me know)
The Maggot Eating Cheese Farmers (phase one)
Wint and Our Kidd, Nieder, Coleman and S. Mocco
Wint and Our Kidd
Mac
Hervé
Helpmann - The Juve Catcher
Monx Gaskgoomba
Oh and a few Arbites for the fun of it
Now everyone go have a look at Shockwave's scavvies which are amazing... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/312901.page about half way down the first page. Maybe we could all pressure him into painting them too?

OK then
Gonk:
Inflatus:
These are 95% scratch-built. Just the guns that aren't on my scavvies. (they're from a Tamiya 1:35 weapon set)
Should have pictures of the first scaly up soon. He just needs some rad-grass on his base and then I'll take some photos.

Thanks for posting, guys! You've both already heard my opinion on your (amazing - that was the opinion ) work, but I'll add some stuff anyway
@ PDH - I don't think I've seen your custodes before! I really like the metalwork on the leader's bionics
@Jackanory - Thanks for posting! I still love the skin tone you managed to get with both gangers, and Gonk's silhouette is awesome!
Have you guys managed to get any games in with them yet?
29279
Post by: jackanory
Far from it! They might get supporting roles in our D&D campaign at some point but they'd probably have to be doing their best goblin/orc/gargantuan black dragon impressions
I only have three gangers in my gang at the moment as well so they'd probably suffer a swift defeat against any full scale gangs.
Speaking of which here's their latest reinforcement:
Mr. Fortescue the scaly.
Isn't it about time you put some pictures of your awesome gangers in here Scarper?!
23897
Post by: Scarper
He looks fantastic! Is that blue a type of OSL, or is it a colouration of the skin? I really like your apocalyptic style basing too - I always think the whole 'nature reclaiming civilisation' thing is pretty sobering
I'll post some of mine eventually - I really don't want to be on page one! I'm really surprised the models up here already aren't garnering more interest, tbh...
29279
Post by: jackanory
I use blue to shade the skin but I guess I take it to a bit of an extreme level!
In real life, shadows tend to be slightly blue in colour so I'm doing that but taking it to the max!
Plus I just like the combination of blue and cream/brown.

Need to keep this thread alive, people should post more of their stuff. There are definitely plenty more 'munda modellers out there who need to represent!

Awesome looking gangs, ancientsociety! I've noticed the Sumphouse Succubi in the gallery before. Do you still play with them?
This is more to counter the waning interest, but here's two of my gangers, Farrell and Crow.
Plus greens for a few more!
I've got more, but I'll save em for re-ressing the thread if it sinks again. Now please post your gangs, my guys look rotten after the gold before them, I don't want to have to resort to showing more!

I've been meaning to post some updates for my gang, but I haven't got around to it yet. Here are a couple of miniatures that I'd snapped pics of before.

Ooh, and which rules are you using?

Yes, I have a blog for them, but posting on it is rare, I rarely am motivated to do them.

@neil101 - Then you should make some! The beauty of necromunda is that you can use nearly any models and parts to get a really unique gang going

It's a ownmade colour from several brown colours from vallejo game paints.
The basecolor is also an ownmade colour made from grey, black and turquoise.

I'm a Necromunda man at heart and honestly beleive it to be the best game out there, I'm going to do a new gang in the near future when my brother pulls his finger out and this is great inspiration.
Keep em coming uys and I'll post my guys when they are made!
Still thinking of doing a Van Sarr Gang that don;t look like members of NAMBLA...

Post by: jackanory
Yes, yes, yes! So good to see paint on that heavy. The pose is just perfect! I think what makes it for me is that he's firing his secondary weapon instead of the massive plasma cannon he's hefting round. Such a simple little switch that does so much for the dynamism in the model.
That little b* st#rd with the rifle is just straight evil. I love it!
Might have to start modelling again. Seeing these has gotten me in the mood

Bump with content! It's been a little while since an update on this thread, so I'm really hoping that people might have some new things to add - keep the necromunda love alive!
(I was going to type 'necro love', but then that just seemed wrong )
So here are all my completed gangers so far:
21st Jackals - A scavenger cell for a post- apoc society

The Quadring Accord - A (mostly) peaceful society formed from the remains of penal legions (currently just two members)
And finally, The Hollows, the start of my scavvy gang. Just one member atm!
I'd absolutely love any comments / criticism (be as mean as you like!) or gallery votes, so please fire away!
But more than that, please post your own necro / =I=munda stuff - it's always inspiring to see what everyone else is up to

@zugzug - Awesome! Inspiring more necromunda stuff is exactly what this thread is for! If you do end up painting your suspicious trenchcoat wearing men, be sure to post em up here In terms of industrial basing, I cannot recommend this product enough - Rustall is really great once you learn how to use it properly. Antenociti's workshop also has some great 'industrial decking' for basing - you should check em out. Hope that helps, and good luck with the delaque!
@wonko - I've actually seen those guys in your blog - great use of predators, they're really fitting for the role of spyrers in the game! Do you have any more, or is it just a 3 man gang?

Scarper wrote:Great stuff, theocd! I love the riot shields. Not the basing I would have expected for the underhive though What are the rules for cyber-mastiffs like in-game? They look like they could be a lot of fun! I didn't have enough proper shields and I though this gave them a different look. At the time I bought them before I new about Necromunda, I just thought " 40K cops, nice" so I based them as the rest of my IG army, namely flock. One day I will update them to something urban but that's a way off. Mastiffs are M 6" WS 4 BS - S 5 T 4 W 1 I 3 A 1 Ld - Come equipped with Teethe and Carapace Armour with Infra Goggles, Photo-Visor and respirator, they don't pay the initiative penalty fo wearing Carapace Armour. They ignore flesh wounds, must stay within 18" of the handler (whilst the dog's alive, the handler cannot be captured) and if the dog dies, it is replaced before the next game. Basically, as Enforcers only ever take small gangs unless massively out numbered, I generally hide in a corner and send the dog out to attack, he loves the taste of juves, people assume it charges 8" so they move just out of its range and then try to shoot it next turn, by which time it has their guts for garters. This is not my gang, but I did build and paint them for a client from bits provided, I will post a few of my favorite members:
Every model has multiple magnets inside of the wrists, and some have magnets on the back so that the weapons are swappable. I paitned them for a Dakka user so if he wishes to post full pictures of his gang in action I am sure he will.
(edit: also, the bolt pistol mod in the first picture, I absolutely loved the way it came out and was so tempted to build an alternate and keep that one for myself)

The names were made up of some suggestions by myself and some by my client, for example, Sneaky Pete (who has an alternate head which is Tau with joke glasses and nose) Lady Killer, and a few others are my suggestions, Fancy Philip and a few others are his suggestions.
I will say, the hardest thing was getting the rifle arms to line up between models so that guns were easily swappable. Pistols were dead easy.
Off the top of my head, there are tau bodies/legs, big mix of heads from scouts to IG, to dark eldar with trimmed ears, arms from scouts/ ig and various fantasy hands that I had spare to hold things like daggers. Also used some of the extra necromunda weapon sprues that were available when you could still order ANYTHING from bitsorder.

Sidekick, driver and former courier

Haha yeah! Those last 3 dudes are just incase I get lucky and roll "specialist" on the advancement table...its actually a grenade launcher but I thought a home-made mini mortar would be more "Scavvy-esque". However those 'auto fail' any ammo rolls and as Scavvies need to test for ammo on a roll of a 1 and a 6 thats only a 4/6 chance it'll even work plus with a BS of 2, aimed shots aren't likely either....its pretty much pointless haha

Ribon Fox - I like the colour scheme. Very nice red.

Space marines in the underhive sounds entertaining mwinchibo. They would kick some hive butt - but maybe the brave underhivers will set an ambush and atempt to turn the tables on the power armoured marines.
Another fun idea is to make rules for the beginning of a genestealer cult; start off with just a couple of gangers and a genestealer and make special rules for brainwashing new gang members and birthing hybrids from them.

And these are the thus far painted members from the Puritan Ordo Malleus Cell.
Acolytes Kesick, Walsh & Barclay
And lastly my latest, Brother Thelonius - "Spiritual Advisor"
Sorry it's a long post, but once I got started I couldn't stop.... There's more where these came from too - Chaos Coven members, a Tau Kill-team squad and some other fellows.
My blog is best place to check out what little fluff I wrote. Limited right now as I'm still creating the campaign background and rules for the players. Once I have more finished pieces, I'll post them here too if you like (Currently working on a Big Mutie for the Nurgle Chaos Coven.).
Cheers,
Dai

@DeadestDai - I can't believe I missed that update, so many fantastic models!
Absolutely love the kroot shaper, and Marco looks like he would not be someone to mess with - is he based off one of the enforcer models? Great choice! The mutie orlock is ace too - it actually took me a few seconds to notice his third arm, which I feel rather dumb about Fax is definitely my favourite though - by far the most uhh... "unique" navigator I've seen, especially with some of the personal habits you detail in your blog Such a characterful choice, he's perfect!
Thanks a lot for posting, I've added your blog to my favourites.
@alabama - This is the P&M board, rather than showcase, so I think anything goes! I've posted a fair few WiPs here myself
Automatically Appended Next Post: And speaking of WiPs, here are a few plague zombies while I'm here

Those plague zombies look great! Lumbering poses and sufficiently messed up. Can't wait to see paint on them!

It's taken a long time but my Escher gang are finally done. Some of the models had remained in a state of partly paintedness for about 12 years. That kinda blows my mind a little, on reflection.
This gang is Cruel and Unusual Punishment and the roster can be found here. The girls are arranged from 1 - 6, 7 - 12 (front row, then back row) in relation to the roster.
Sadly my painting is not very good. Sorry about that, folks :(
Lastly something a little novel I discovered when going through my various attempts to photograph them - two photos at slightly different angles.

Sorry no Biggs and Wedge (yet )... but I always wanted to make Bobba Fett
But first I have to finish another Firefly reference... this girl will be called either Kaylee or Zoe... but I will think about that when I hopefully finish her someday

Cheers! They seem to fit in relatively well with the outrageous outfits of the original models, I feel. They could be closer of course but multipart plastics are a personal favourite.
