Hi,
Puppet's War http://www.puppetswar.com/ , another fine small manufacturer of miniatures, bases and conversion bits (previously shortly mentioned in a messy now closed thread) has some new items in their store:
An "Alien Infestation Pod" for 30.99 €:
http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=21
A "Demonic Assassin" for 6.00 €:
http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=22
A Gentleman version of their Plague Demon for 25.00 €:
http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=20
Three other products I want to highlight are:
Robotic heads (10 for 7.00 €):
http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=19
Wild Wolfman heads (10 for 7.00 €):
http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=7
Wolf Helmets (10 for 7.00 €):

Dig everything but the wolfhelms. For some reason I would expect my space wolves to wear zoot suits if they wore those.
Although, that might make for a fun project. Make them into the 13th Company...which would explain what really happened to them and why no one talks about them.

Probably the best stand in for a Mycetic Spore Pod I think I've seen anyone make, the Plague Daemon is just stupid awesome, and I really like that middle robot head. I wish I had a disposable income that I could buy stuff from all the different online bitz sellers!

Yes, love those Artificial helmets! They remind me of some fan artwork for the Zoicans in the Gaunt's Ghosts series. DO WANT. That gentlemanly Plague Daemon looks great too, rather comical in both theme and the sculpt itself. I must mention those Sombrero Ork heads are awesome as well - Mexican-themed Gorkamorka gang anyone? I shall keep an eye on this company, I like some of what they are doing.

I'm not too sure on the Toxic Heads, they seem a bit blank and detail-less for my tastes but I'm sure used on a model and painted up they would be nice. EDIT Ordered some of the Artificial Helmets so I'll let people know what they are like (with a picture or two) when I get them.

Whilst I love their stuff I ordered the autocannon arms after a few of the alt razorback turrets.
Design = Cool
Casting = Horrendous. Absoloute shambles on both orders. Bubbling on really tiny sections of the barrels. Horrendous mould lines across key bits of details puts a real downer on the nice designs...

It's a massive diversion from the existing 'style' of Imperial construction from a group that already spent their "weird crazy stuff" quotient on force weapons, teleport gear, and lots of extra bling.
To a lot of people it would be akin to the Tyranids suddenly getting a Rhino-variant with the excuse of "Um, well, they ate someone that knew how to build one really well."
Tyranids-that-use-tech could be a cool and chilling evolution, but it needs to be introduced very carefully as it's a break from existing lore, even for a group that is known for rapid evolution (On the other hand, the Grey Knights tend to be portrayed as somewhat old-fashioned even if never explicitly said to be. They do not, after all, embrace Change.) It would be even more annoying if the Tyranids-that-use-tech came out in the same book as a bunch of other Tyranid evolutions in other areas with little to no explanation.

Hi everyone,
I've just registered on dakkaforums, as i saw the thread.
I will post anything Puppets War related here in advance.
About the casting quality, as of this week we got the new "technology" installed so the quality should be much higher and flaws free.
Around 20-30 orders containing autocannon arms were sent with only half of the autocannons ordered, the missing autocannons were sent immediately after
we discovered the error, and we are working on a compensation for all the people who didnt get their order sent correctly.
I can tell you as a little compensation that new "small models" and walker shoulder pads are on the way

That doesn't mean people have to like it.
This is, admittedly, a "Everything created when I got into it is the best, the new stuff sucks" but I can personally defend the Rogue Trader/2nd->3rd "Cleanup" of the background. it was a definite evolution of background and rules. I have trouble with the newer evolutions as they seem much more ham-fisted and don't really 'improve' things.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like many of the changes either, but then 40K has sort of become "No Country for Old Men" if you know what I mean...
I don't think GW considers guys my age or older who have been playing for 20+ years any more.
They want guys like that to go away so that when they change something no one notice/call them on it...

Sorry, Chibi - have to disagree on that one. What is the point, and how is it more practical, to have clawed fingers...and then have great big claws over the top of your clawed fingers?
Having the claws mounted on the wrists reduces the reach (and hence effective range) of the weapon. Having the claws mounted "as" the "fingers" a) increases reach and b) removes a "bullet trap" on the model (which is all the extraneous clawed fingers are, really, at the moment.)
Artur, if your reading this...bring on the "claws as fingers" walker hands!!! (Oh, and glad to hear the casting is going to improve.)

I agree completely, the Stinger also looks like it can fit an Ork inside the drivers cab; unlike the 'Buggi.'

too bad the orks don't have a smaller slave-species they delegate some of their battlefield duties to... oh, wait. In other words, it's plenty big enough for a Grot.

True but fluff-wise I don't think it works. After all, the Orks make Grot's drive their own tanks instead of Ork tanks; this concept applies across the board. Have you ever seen an Ork vehicle driven by a Grot? All the vehicles I have seen which include Orks are driven by Orks.
There are plenty of smaller third-party vehicles which a Grot could "conceivably" drive. If I'm dropping $30 USD on a stand-in for my Orks it needs to look right and be legit fluff-wise. Otherwise, I'll just make it out of plasticard and save the $$.

Agreed - that seems a bit extreme. If a Grot driver or gunner works on the model, then do it. Adding Grots to a model is always a plus.
I quite like this 'buggi' (not exactly a sophisticated attempt to avoid trouble with GW!). It's certainly better than the GW Warbuggy or Wartrak, which are so old that GW should withdraw both of them from sale - or give them away free.

Also, since the Warpath Orx are so weedy, this will work well enough for that game... as if anyone wants it to.

nkelsch wrote:Also for the Buggi... Why is the spare so small? I would think it needs to be the same size of the rest.
Possible answers:
1.) It's looted, don' ask.
2.) Orks believe it works, so it works.
3.) If you look at the spikes: The wheel HAS to be smaller so the spikes don't destroy the dirt shield.
Tailgunner wrote:I quite like this 'buggi' (not exactly a sophisticated attempt to avoid trouble with GW!).
Maybe you are too young, but Buggy is an invention of VW (=Volkswagen) not GW. If anyone could make trouble, it's VW (also for the similarity to the Love Bug car), but they don't care.

SR, I've tried the Puppetswar shoulder pads out against a Contemptor, and I reckon they would look the right size. I've just finished a pair of the autocannon shoulders and mounted them on a FW MKIV Dreanought - worked very well. The Contemptor torso is about the same thickness, and slightly less wide.

I kind of wonder how these:
would look as heads for Cadians, or maybe as replacement heads on Steel Legion as part of a Stormtrooper conversions. Maybe a way to represent some of the weirder IG forces the Black Library books occasionally mention. Say they're skull-helmets, not robo-skulls.
(Although they might need to be a tad bigger to pull it off.)
That's one thing I don't think GW has ever really done with Guard: Manage to show off the countless weird traditions and such they've stated the Guard has in other sources. The old 3rd edition Guard book had the nice sketches of various regiments, and the 4th book had the Doctrine system to back it up with some rules, but it seems the system needed another iteration of work to make it more fun, less way to add advantages without disadvantages.

While I like them very, very much, Robot heads really aren't what Not-cron players would be after, honestly. The new kits come with more heads than you can use and while these could be used for Cryptek conversions, a cyclopean robot head would appeal to a wider audience. What I would love to see more of are Cyber-Robot legs of a larger beefier type (Immortals/Lychguard/Praetorians/Lords), hand-less arms, and the front halves of torsos. I swear as soon as I had hobby cash available, I'd snatch them up - if only Puppet Wars made them.

I've just received my Gatling cannons and shoulder pads from PW, and am putting them on right now.
The scale is spot on (particularly the Gatlings...they fit very nicely.) The only thing missing is the hemispherical mounting point on the pads to fit into the shoulder joint of the Contemptor. Easy kit-bash tho...
PW's casting has improved greatly, too - my first purchase was a little bit rough, needing some GS. This lot are very clean...

They face forward, so I don't think it would be too hard to have the normal warrior on their with his feet on the round back peg things. Might need a little bit of green stuff, but nothing major. I think I'm going to grab a few in about a week when I have money and then i'll put some together and it'll be on my P&M blog.

GREAT looking bikes though!...EDIT: Oh and I can only see one type of gun???
I second the need for DE style/ varient heads for the Cyber head concept you put up... in fact I would go so far as to say that they were more DE than Eldar in styling anyway?
cheers
W
The Markers are like large stone necron heads on the ground, could be used at bases or as objectives. There was a picture hanging around here somewhere...
Which I can't find for some reason.
Edit: Found it: They look to be 40mm. Would be some really nice wraith bases as well.
EDIT: hosted to dakka for those unfortunate blocked
And the other gun.

I don't think you need a robot to ride a robot.

Wow, I can't believe I just discovered this thread. I had not heard of Puppet War's before, but their stuff is incredible. That not-necron bike is of a quality that would easily be mistaken for an actual GW product. Their take on deffkoptas is also absolutely brilliant. I will be paying attention to future products.

Yeah, puppets war is my favorite 3rd party vendor, and the only one I've ever ordered from.
Most creative and ballsy art direction I've seen out of a company.

AA Turret
Want one of these for my Bloodpact Hydra.
Got my latest PW order last night, and the plow for the Big Momma cannon is massive! The Ork planes are neat too, you get some bombs which I donèt think are shown on the site. Bad news is that my bus was missing the cab piece. :( I have emailed Artur, so no doubt he will sort that out shortly though!

Im liking the not-eldar heads alot.
The one kinda reminds me of starcraft's Protoss. That could be very useful to some people, haha.
Im definitely going to get me some

Swooping Hawks, surely?
And I already had the idea of "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman"* themed Hawks, this head swap just makes them better!
* "Gatchaman" is the original Anime that both "Battle of the Planets" and the later "G-Force" series were cut from. See it in the original and you get so much more, including the fact that Berg Catse (The villain) does NOt actually have a sister, he's a hermaphrodite and plays the part of his own sister to throw the team off his trail.

Or higher tech IG, or even Tau Auxiliary.
Either way I really, really like those heads, I could see a use for each one for a specific purpose.
