Hello all, another German army post here. I have been playing the Lehr Division now for a few months and I must say I am quite taken. The options and abilities of the Lehr Division make it versatile and extremely mobile. I thoroughly enjoy zipping around the battlefield and charging my large Grenadier teams into action.

Here is the list for my army:

HQ CIC/21C SMG TEAMS W/ HALF TRACKS
CMBT 2 SQUADS (MG/TANK HUNTER) W/ HALF TRACKS
CMBT 2 SQUADS (MG/TANK HUNTER) W/ HALF TRACKS
WEPS 2 GRENADIER HVY MORTAR SECTIONS (12 CM)
WEPS 2 PAK 40 GUN TEAMS W/ SMG COMMAND TEAM
WEPS 2 HVY MG SECTIONS W/ SMG COMMAND TEAM
SPPT 3 PZ IV TANKS (SS PANZER COMPANY ALLIES)
SPPT 3 JAGDPANZER IV TANK HUNTERS
SPPT 2 HVY AA GUN TEAMS 1 WITH EXTRA CREW
SPPT LEHR ARMORED RECON 3X PUMA'S

TOTAL 1750

WILL POST SOME PICS

WE got some paper terrain in the mail and played the mission "Cauldron" ...ended up being an interesting fight. As it uses the mobile battle rule I had to leave most of my armor off the table. My opponent was running a Medium tank Co. from the "Turning the Tide" book. I deployed my 88's and mortars and 1 platoon of infantry and the used the Puma's to harass is guns and take pot shots at his armor.

I like the little bastards, but they can be so hit or miss sometimes. Great for taking care of guns and infantry and the occasional tank team.

been thinking about dropping the lighter tanks in favor of some tigers. I use the 88's because they are dual purpose and for some reason draw so much fire they leave my other tanks alone. Also any feedback on the 12cm Hvy Mortars

What all three of them?

Panzer Lehr only had three Tiger Is in Normandy from the attached Panzer-Kompanie 316 (Funklenk), the company also had five Tiger IIs but these did not go to Normandy - transport could not be arranged and the 5 Tiger IIs remained in France at Chateaudun where they were subsequently destroyed to prevent capture.

From having read the Panzer Lehr after-action reports for Normandy, its not clear if the three Tiger Is saw much action and 316 was pulled out of the line (their only recorded losses being two of their StuG IIIs) on the 1st July 1944 to join Pz.Abt (FKL) 302.

Oh look more Pumas, that'll cheer up Big P!

At least it aint Tiger IIs...

you sir digress from the discussion at hand ....was it red or yellow...

The Earth and Steel book allows me to take as a Allie a Heavy Tank Platoon, from one of the nearby SS. Schwere Panzer Abieltung. So as far as what was there I don't know I wasn't. I was looking at it from the game perspective not the History perspective. I think the Lehr Grenadiers are great and larger than normal size with Panzershrecks. Why not throw in some tigers!

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/07 00:01:10

Post by: Big P

No never let history stand in the way of a good game!

Just thought you might be interested in what Panzer Lehr actually had.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/07 04:34:00

Post by: DesslokUnfrozen

For a moment, I thought Big P would start waving around his giant ‘realism’ falchion and ruin a perfectly good game!
I admit I did not know how many Tigers were with the Panzer Lehr, good to know.
But on the tabletop, Tigers just look splendid. Slab-sided, long barreled harbingers of doom!
As a British player, I see Tigers as pricey overkill verses my Shermans. I would rather face a couple of Tigers than a row of dug-in PaK40s. (shudder)
My advice (free, while supplies last) is to test drive a list including some Tigers verses a list with smoke and aircraft. After that you can see if you like them.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/07 07:44:05

Post by: dreager96

Thanks for the input "Big P" ....I always appreciate history. But I have found that this game sometimes strays from reality...

Sadly there are no Air assets for the Panzer Lehr Division.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/07 12:57:39

Post by: Big P

I dont think there was much in the way of air assets for any German after 1943... Though the Luftwaffe did make a few appearances over Normandy.

I've no problem with fictional games... Hell all of them are really!

Im starting 1950s Cold War at the moment... Dont get much more fictional than that!

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/07 13:52:57

Post by: dreager96

True..as a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan...I must say the whole combat perspective is different...but as a game it works. And besides I am finally in command of my own army..

I wonder though why the Lehr Panther's are more than the tigers. As I believe more panther's were built than tigers?

I phrased things poorly. Try a list with Tigers verses an OPPONENT who uses smoke and air. And yes, let us know how you do!

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/12 14:51:49

Post by: infinite_array

Tigers and Panthers are best used when playing against Soviets - apart from the Churchills, the Brits and Americans can't field a tank that a Panzer IV can take down.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/14 15:43:25

Post by: dreager96

Yeah am inclined to agree, I like the Lehr for its great diversity and great infantry units. I am going to simply modifying my old list and going from there.

Also got a reinforcement from home in the form of some JR miniature Roads and Rivers. So look for some more scenery.

I run two Tigers in my Pioneer list and I would never leave home without them. For starters you now have a mobile 88. You outrange all allied armor at 40 inches I believe, which makes up for the slow tank rule. Top armor two also makes a big differance as well as your thick side armor. And if nothing else they will draw so much fire your other units are free to do as they please. Try em and let us know what you think.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/27 19:32:08

Post by: dreager96

Yeah I have the modified list out and we have played some games with em. the tigers do make such a difference as my opponent said, "You have to deal with them!". That has allowed my Lehr Grenadiers to maneuver around into assault position. I will post a pic of what I have completed.

That 40" range is one of the biggest yet least spoken about strengths the Tiger has IMO. Especially if you get a favorable tiger ace skill, the impact they can have on enemy armour is massive.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/28 14:12:45

Post by: Comintern

Its a bit pricey but it makes most Allied commanders deal with it. As you put it. And if they smoke it, and or buzz it all the better. Means that those assets are not being used elsewhere.

I like em!

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/04/28 19:57:26

Post by: MrJody

40 inch range is indeed huge since it means you can sit still and get fuu ROF while they are forced to move to get within range oy you. Agrred also a good Tiger Ace skill makes them that much better. Worth the points? IMO heck yeah!

Well my friends as the schedules permit, we managed to get another game in and it was awesome....We played domination at 2500 pts. , but with some slight changes to the rules. We had at first reserves that came in on turn 2...and the we used random deployment. My opponent, the good doctor through his American tank company at me with gusto. But I was able to wrap up the flanks there by pinning his forces in the middle. At 2500 pts. I was able to get some of my panthers in and that was a huge bonus. They alone accounted for at least 6 tanks and I complete arty section, all at only a loss of two panthers. Next up a final and grand assault by my grenadiers put the nail in the coffin. Turn 6 and I broke his forces...and with having killed his CiC and 2iC in round 4 he automatically broke...I will post more pics as I ready and practice for the INDY GENCON, with my 1750 Lehr Division LIST.

Also if your looking for some cheap good resin terrain, try out MUSKET MINIATURES ,I purchased some sets and they are great....also they delivery to APO/AP addresses

Post by: MrJody

Congrats on the win. 2500 pts is a fun size cuz ya get to field all those expensive goodies like extra Panthers. Americans have a hard time dealing with those guys. Heck most armies do unless you run into Churchills especially those nasty Crocodilles.

Today we played a 1000 pt game with the following rules on a 3 x 3 ft table was much harder and played much faster.

HQ
plus at least one combat platoon
weapons platoons
infantry only
1 vehicle platoon from same list

it was once again the Lehr Division against the 1st special service force. We played encounter which then split our small forces in Half. Lehr Division took the offensive from the start, and with good reserve rolls kept the lead and forced the Americans back on their heels.

Complete German Victory....

No pics but was a great time

Hope to see you all at Indy Con

army looks great ! it is a game with a point system so the realism is lost to make a competive fair sort of experience . just like every german army has tons of half tracks . half tracks made up less then 10% of the transportation that the german infantry used. ive even heard from german veterans of ww2 that during the entire war they never saw a half track . but were gamers so who cares !!! there toy soldiers play the way you want

There was actually a good book "Panzertrauppen", it detailed the creation of the armor programs the structure of the Panzer divisions and the world realization that modern warfare would be fluid and fast..."Blitzkrieg". It did point out that only 10 percent of the Wermacht was mechanized, but that 10 percent did wonders in combat

Though to be fair, Panzer Lehr had loads of half-tracks.

They were one of only very few Panzer Divisions that had both Panzergrenadier Battalions mounted in half-tracks. In most Panzer Divisions, one of them would be in trucks, but in Lehr (and a select few more) both got half-tracks.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/06/02 17:50:03

Post by: dreager96

True they were well equipped, and in the terms of the game that makes them a tough opponent. With full sized grenadier platoons reaching 9 teams, with optional attachments, they can get down right scary. And as the Lehr Division received a full compliment of Panzershrecks...there is plenty of anti tank to go around.

News From The Front....The 3rd Infantry Division clashes with Panzer Lehr Division outside of St. Lo'.....Early reports indicate that the 3rd I.D. was repulsed in an all out attack....

So the game was "Cauldron" with the 3rd I.D. list facing off against the Lehr Division, we started off fairly slow...I was able to field 5 platoons thanks to the Kampfgruppe, and against 4 platoons, I had a slight advantage. I also rolled 4 out of 5 platoons to be able to place were I wanted, this really helped. I loaded one side up and pushed on though. This left one of my opponents objectives relatively lightly defended, and with some luck and a tank assault I was able to push him of the objective. This helped me to put a lot of pressure on him early. I ended up pulling out the victory on turn 5...

My gaming buddy and me have been getting in a lot of games lately, we are kinda of in a lull in work and such. I have been running small games with infantry only and it is really a huge difference on how the game plays....plus it brings into light a lot of the rules and mechanics we sometimes over look. Last night the Lehr Division took the night off...and the 2nd SS Das Riech, stepped in to give the 3rd I.D. a bloody nose....it was a real good fight on a small 2 x 3 ft game pad so we were into it fast a furious. It came down to a few last minute saves, but the 2nd SS pulled out the win. Really good game and I recommend you try them yourselves...

Looking good! If you run a full sized squad of Pioners try taking a flame thrower. It is only a skill check to hit so you'll be hitting on 3's. There is no save of any kind. And one hit auto pins infantry. Great for an assault. Not quite as good VS tanks but it does auto bail them and then a FP test destroys em or you get to assault a bailed tank. Also a panzerfaust is good because it is tank assault 5 or 6.

Only thing I would do is not make the 3.7 AA armored. You,re better off with the 5+ save in this case. Oh maybe scrape up points so both 88's can have extra crew. Other than that it looks good.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/06/28 14:25:46

Post by: Comintern

I agree! Unless you know for certain that you wont be facing alot of Armor (which you probably will haha). Id just drop that and if you can, upgrade something somewhere else. the +5 is better!

As for the rest of the list, Ill wait till Big P gives his usual address on historical Accuracy!

I'll look at it again but those damned AOP's actually give me such a pain in the ass. I am looking at a way to knock them out off the get go...while still having the 88's to hit armor with.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/06/28 18:02:37

Post by: Comintern

Not saying you should drop them. If there a way or an option to bring them unamored?

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/06/28 18:26:10

Post by: dreager96

Yes, but I am kinda aggressive with them. I like the save as well cause its better than the 5+ against infantry with which that rate of fire 4 and FP 4+ are great. I have even used them against side/rear shots on Sherman tanks (FP 6) .....that is the reason for the armored option.

Supply Trucks for Pioneers are always in good standing imho.
As for the Armoured AAA...stay with them. IF you have been doing well with them and they form a wrinkle in your army that you work well with. Far be it for me to tell you not to use it!

(That was a supply truck right?)

The 88's are awesome IMHO, they have great anti tank and hit on 3+ for AA. The enemy won't leave them be...so either they waste shots and more importantly turns trying to get them or they get shot up. I have used them to shut down sections of a table to allow my Grenadiers to move forward. Also with 4-6 shot AT 13 / FP 3+....great addition to any army.

Interesting list. I always take full combat platoons so I am very curios how the smaller platoon worked in the tournament.

BTW:
I noticed that your infantry has white piping.

AFAIK Panzer Lehr Grenadiers had meadow green piping. (Wiesengrün)

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/07/04 13:41:58

Post by: dreager96

I really didnt know about the piping. I was looking on the internet about the grenadiers and that was what I came up with. Also I can use the grenadiers in other forces and still have them look okay. As far as the smaller size...I really haven't had any issues, I have attached Panzershreck and HMG teams to the platoons, and the smallest platoon is 7 stands which is the same size as most full sized platoons. They work well. I have more platoons to move around which is better than a few large ones.

Great work. Maybe you could repaint the brown and green dots to stripes or patches.

Post by: dreager96

I am deployed overseas, I have been bouncing back and forth over here for almost 6 years. Kinda feels like a second home. I am on my last deployment.

The dots look a little "off" as the camera is zoomed in but at normal detail ,i.e. on the table the effect is kinda like an optical illusion and looks much better. Besides I really don't like the brush strokes when I try to do stripes with a hard edge camo pattern. I do wish I could bring an airbrush out here but it wouldnt last a week.

Yeah, I used flow enhancer to avoid brush strokes, it works well but you can still tell it was painted on with a brush. I plan to overspray my Panzer IV's with an Airbrush and Middlestone Colour.

You can clearly see my Brush Marks, The overall scheme is too dark, it needs to be lighter so the only way to keep the Camo scheme is a light overspray. Bottomline, I wish i had just left the Tanks "Dunkelgelb" rather than painting a Camo scheme. :(

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/07/06 08:09:08

Post by: dreager96

If you looked at my PZ IV's I used light colors such as italian crew man (327), and flat earth (70983) and then when finished I lightly dry brushed them with middlestone (882). It was a better effect but still not quite what I wanted. Also I used shades to darken them then only highlighted the middlestone to create a show effect. If you dry brush them and then add some battle effects (chipped paint, metal marks), you might be able to skip the air brush and roll with them like that.

Here's a trick if you don't have an airbrush. Take some thin cardboard and cut out shapes in the shape you want your camo to be then you can carefully spray your camo on with spray paint. One other thing I don't think you can attach panzershieks to a platoon they have to be either with your HQ or 2ic. Not 100% on that but you might want to double check before the tourny.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/07/07 02:08:48

Post by: dreager96

on the rules for HQ attachments, they must be attached to a platoon or else they become a leaderless platoon, as the CiC & 2iC are independent teams only.

was also thinking about using that painters fluid mask but it seems like a lot of work for so small a scale.

Big question (P should know this one) what was the side number of Michael wittmanns tiger in Normandy.

I know it was the 101 schwere ABt, but was he 101 as he leader of the 1st element?

Or was he I01 as battalion commander, i have been researching on the web all morning..

212....from Google.

The 101st SS Heavy Panzer Battalion had arrived in Normandy on 12 June, after a five day, 160-mile (260 km) drive from Beauvais.[69][72] Mustering 45 Tiger I tanks at full strength,[nb 7] the battalion had come under severe air attack near Versailles and been reduced to around 17 serviceable tanks.[72][73][nb 8] The battalion's 1st Company was situated 5.6 miles (9.0 km) northeast of Villers-Bocage; the 2nd Company, under the command of SS-Obersturmführer Michael Wittmann, was just south of Point 213 on the Villers-Bocage ridge; and the 3rd, with only one serviceable tank, was near Falaise and would not reach the front for another two days.[70][74] Wittmann's 2nd Company nominally consisted of 12 tanks,[nb 9] but through a combination of losses and mechanical failures only Tigers 212, 213, 214, 224, 231, and 232 were present on 13 June.[11][18]

Check out my Blog for the Tigers. (I couldn't swap it as there were no Zimmerit ones left, nevermind I'll live)

My purchases were originally put down to impulses, now it's more driven by the Army list we discussed. That said, I still have 5 x Panzer IV's and 4 x STuG III which make for a nice armoured spearhead when combined with the Jagdpanzers and Tiger 1E's.

You won't regret the Tigers Mwnciboo. I run twoof em and they always serve me well. Dreager you can use silly putty to mask of areas too it works pretty well and leaves the edges a little fuzzy which is nice since most armor of that period didn't have hard lined camo.

The thing I like about your miniatures most ( and it's something for me to emulate) is the diorama style bases. Each one has a minute detail or some kind of interest, a piece of wall, or a empty shell case. I am going to buy some of the ARMY PAINTER Static Grass, and try add some extra height and interest to my bases.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/07/14 07:49:13

Post by: dreager96

Ya know, I like that idea for bases, there are too many that just clump the mini's on them. I used the German casualties pack to add some character and at the same time give me about 3-4 extra bases. I managed to get 10 stands on the single Lehr platoon blister, not including the "Tank Hunter Teams", which is great.

It is , the small 7.5 SiG infantry guns are still "Infantry"...as per the T.O.E., so hence the white piping on the small field guns.

The army models I am painting are with all the options, to include Divisional support. I have Panzerwerfer 42's, 10.5 cm arty, Recon armor, armor and the infantry platoons. I also have the Tigers. The Newly created Kamfgruppe Me, Lehr Division smashed an allied attempt to break through German lines. Late last night elements of the 3rd Armored Division advanced on German positions only to be met by a well prepared German counter attack. The fight was short, and bloody...and completely one sided..but immensely fun. I got to use my Pioneers and managed to hit with no less than 4 flamethrower shots...completely wiping a 76mm Sherman platoon. That and some incredible luck with my 120mm Mortars and 8.8cm guns....the allied salient was no more.

Fun game 1750 Lehr vs. 3rd Armor

Mission: Free for All
Final outcome: complete German vicotry

Losses:
German;
1 8.8cm gun team
1 grenadier stand

U.S.;
5 Stewart 37mm
5 Sherman 75mm
4 Sherman 76mm
2 105mm gun teams
1 2iC Sherman

Round 1:
opponent moved and attempted to dig in, no shots fired

me:
I laid down a smoke barrage , maneuvered my grenadiers into buildings.
moved my pioneers in position to take control of 2 buildings
fired a mortar barrage taking out 1 tank and 1 105mm arty team, pinning them
Jagdpanzers manage to score 1 tank kill, and two "bail-outs" at long range
88's fire but only get one hit taking out another 105mm gun.

Round 2:
opponent;
Sherman tank platoon fails morale test and flees
105mm unpins
76mm tank platoon moves out of the smoke and into firing position
Stewart tank platoon flanks and moves into engage Pak 40's and grenadiers
105mm Sherman tanks fire a barrage onto the grenadiers pinning one squad and killing one stand of infantry
76's knock out an 88 gun team

Me;
Pioneers brake cover and move to engage 76's
2 37mm AA half tracks flank the Stewart tanks knocking out one
grenadiers surge forward taking out another Stewart and "bailing" a third
Pack 40's miss both shots
Pioneers hit with 4 flamethrower shots bailing 3 tanks and double bailing one of them (which he fails his morale test)
21cm Neblewerfers fire dnger close bailing out Stewart number four
Jagdpanzers fire and bailing our 2iC
Mortars fire and claim one HMG team and pin the comabt engineer platoon in cover

Morale Checks:
76's under half fail
Stewart's under half fail
enemy is at half of force and calls game with only 3 105 shermans, 2 105mm arty teams, and a combat engineer platoon left.

NO tigers on this List ....but I figured that in missions like breakthrough, and others were I cant use them I am trying a more infantry heavy list. I love those Pioneers...SICKNESS. The Flamethrowers Punished the 76's without even having to assault. FORCING that morale check, the enemy 76's failed it. I love the Tigers but this list gives me 10 platoons to deploy. I can wait and place my heavy guns and Pioneers after most everyone else. Definite advantage.

Good Win however.

LOL sheet happens....I just tried the Hummels in battle wasn't to impressed and for the cost of them I would have thought they would do better. But as always when your opponent needs a 4 or better he rolls a 5. I am sad to report the 2nd Armored Division has pushed back the Lehr Division. Oh well can't win em all...

The joys of military life...at any rate those Panzer Lehr look great.

I think the biggest impediment to me starting FoW is the painting, as I like striking color schemes(even though I'm at best pretty-okay painter) and a drab real military scheme would wear on me I think. That being said, the massive amount of stuff you've painted up makes it even better.

Congrats on the win. Told ya you'd love those flame throwers. Thier even better aginst infantry. Especially when you want to assault dug in infantry cuz 1 hit automatically pins. Great job. Oh and get used to the one sided victories it happens a lot when youtake Germans lol.

Wow you didn't like the Hummels? What's not to like about a 2+ Fp and a pretty good anti-tank against an average top armor of 1? The odds are almost always in your favor but everyone likes to use differant things and evryone has success with differant lists. The whole army sure looks great though.

Also got early copy of hell fire and back...very nice.

Well late war was a blast first oppenent was a tool...not in his army choice but his attitude...

Round 1 fighting withdrawl
lehr vs russian tank horde...

Army played well destroyed one complete platoon plus tankodesantneki. Wiped other platoom out to 1 tank.
came down to 2 rolls...lost pz 4 and 2nd grenadier platoon plus pioneers...put me under half.

5/2 loss

Round 2 no retreat
lehr vs russian tank horde, with air
map helped on this one, river split map with only 2 crossings.
88's ambush destroys one platoon with help from grenadiers.
opponent pushes far crossing with massed tanks and infantry.
88 continues to knock out tanks at range. Pioneers flamers bail a tank. Reserves hold off tanks. 120mm mortars continue you pound tanks and infantry. Comes down to assualts at bridge.

Win 6/1

Round 3 encounter
lehr vs polish tank co.
good placement of units and luck...mortars bail and destroy 2 tanks on flank ...pioneers hold for assault. Enemy tanks move up and are pushed back by 88 guns. Mortars harass tanks. Reserves arrive enemy pushes up. Pz 4's arrive with jagdpanzers, 88 knocked out. 2 rounds of shooting and a stunning turn of events...CiC, 2iC are knocked out 2 tank platoons are crushed...and polish infantry are pinned.

Win 5/2

Was great game a few idiots but otherwise really fun...pics to follow...

Good results, probably need to look at 88mm. They were a fearsome adversary during World War II and cause ridiculous numbers of Tanks and vehicle casualties.

Its not a proper tournament unless you have a few freaks or weirdo's. The ones who annoy me are not the ones with no social skills (although they are many) its the ones who think personal hygiene is something you can Opt out of. It's just disgusting, especially as in the Military we don't stand for poor personal administration. I don't mind scruffy, but I have had to "bite my tongue" at times when playing particularly stinky and offensive individuals. The other players that annoy, are ones who play to ridiculous levels with the rules e.g. beyond the Spirit of the game, Winning is everything to these people and it sucks the spirit of gentlemanly competition right out of me. The Game for the Games sake rather than "I want to win at any cost". Real life isn't a game, thats why we fight to win in war, in gaming I'm not bothered at all.

well not late war but I am on a role...I Am playing a mid-war tourney in the "Guns of August" in Williamsburg Va. will post some pics.

Post by: MrJody

Congrats on your late war victories. 88s are great and the 19 points for the extra crew are always well worth it when you can afford it. You should dowell in mid-war as that seems to be where the Germans were at thier best. Good luck.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/08/14 02:38:48

Post by: dreager96

well the guns of August are now silent....I managed to pull of the ultimate victory to take first place. It was domination all around but each map had its own scenario. It was fun but more importantly it was a learning curve. I used my awesome painted grenadiers and some Fockwulfe 190's to smash my way to victory.

round 1
Mid-War Nisei vs Grenadiers

was hit and miss my air and arty kept him at bay some timely assaults and a nice roll of 2 when he needed it kept me in the lead....

win 6/1 (8 domination points)

Strelovky vs Grenadiers

Map had a snow storm on 6 sight reduced to 12" but that happened once or twice. The gist of it was conscripts met Grenadiers....conscripts died.

win 4/3 (12 domination points....yes 12)

British Para's ve Grenadiers

Great game and the reason I play the game ...it was fast and furious and it came down to simple die rolls. Was a lot of infantry on infantry slaughter with assaults and counter assaults but I nearly pulled this one off...

Loss 3/4 (tied at 6 victory points)

even with the loss and the amount of domination points put me ahead....to get the FIRST place win...

great tourney...

I won the IV/70 Jagdpanzer box set....yeah me

Comgrats on another victory! Britsh Para's are tough mid-war. Nice prize too espically for Panzer Lehr.

Panzer Lehr Division @ 2011/08/18 21:18:36

Post by: mwnciboo

Wow, Jagdpanzer IV/70 they are nice, and pricey! WOOT. We shouldn't be surprised, the LEHR are like the Grey Knights of FOW. Lavishly equipped, comprised of seasoned veterans, Well led with good Officers and superb Mobility and hitting power, combined with very good support options.

I am going to put up some more pics of my Finished 251's (x10) my Opel Blitz (x5) and my Panzerwerfer 42 (x4). I have done them all whilst I am "Officer Of the Day" during the main Leave period, taking a leaf out of your book!

EDIT I have also succeeded in both Burning and Electrocuting myself on my Day light bulb last week whilst trying to take a Photo on my painting Table. My Ankle gave way (old problem from running in COmbat boots for years), and i fell sideways swiping my DAYLIGHT BULB lamp (which has a temperature somewhere in the 1000 Kelvin range, lol), smashing it whilst it hit me (burning me) shattered (covering me in hot glass) and electrocuted me. Seriously it was like a million to one event, it would have been a hell of a way to punch out of this mortal coil, especially considering the ridiculous risks I have run in the past (like being ridiculous drunk and swimming across rivers etc). I was properly shaken up and the wife has reduced me to painting in Daylight hours.
