That's an excellent collection of RT Guard you have there. I have a few of the same models here and there, most have found their way into the PDF I use for Necromunda scenarios.

Before the Orks pushed the guard aside, I did make some progress, getting their boots painted and a wash over most of them.

Wow, I'm really loving your old school guard. They're really nicely painted and they have a great look and feel about them. Your Orks are awesome too. I love those grot tanks.

Just re-read this, missed the Plague Marines and 47 Necromunda Gangers! The Plague Marine looks perfect (which obviously you already knew, painting to WD 1990's standard is a skill you excel at) and I'm pretty excited to see what happens w/ those Underhivers.

But, right now, Dwarfs?

Apparently, the hobby ADD went for dwarfs this week.

Finished up 7 characters and 20 slayers.

I really like the red face paint on your Evil suns. It stands to reason if they paint their vehicles red to go faster they would paint themselves too!

Honestly, I'm not sure when I'll get to painting them. I'm at the point were I want to get a bunch of stuff assembled. And then get to painting.

But you might see one of two of these guys see some paint sooner than later.

Whatever gets painted and whenever it happens I'm looking forward to seeing it. You do justice to the old miniatures, your painting is excellent.

Nurgle-rheen looks good, interesting use of black for the body, makes the green and red pop that bit more

I got into the whole GW miniatures game scene with the release of 2nd edition - and a lot of these models were still around and in heavy use then.

Wow - I consider myself (sorry make that considered myself) to be one of the most prolific collector of old minis on dakka but I have never even seen one or two of these, especially those necromunda types earlier (unreleased?). Looking forward to seeing you paint them - I don't think I have any of those inquisitors (got 4 other ones instead) and they are so hard to get hold of at reasonable price.

You are a fine painter also - Its good to see them looking their best.

Thanks Weety. I have been following your work for a while and as you paint stuff up I get the itch to pull out the same figs I have and paint them, but I have such a queue built up that they have to wait.

At this point I think I have nearly the complete range of 40K and Necromunda figs from 1988-97, including a bunch of unreleased stuff.

One of the rarest I have is this Mark Bedford sculpted, unreleased Ogryn.

Painted up another RT commissar today. Highlights on the black are a little harsh, but in person they work.

That is one of my favorite Commissars ever. I have one of them in my Necromunda Arbites squad as a 'judge', and he literally 'throws the book'. ST 4 / 12" / AP -

Nice work 92, though I find the bases a bit jarring. Especially with the Arbites.

While I can see what you mean, all the old models I do are done with the idea of period correctness.

Just trying to show that with a little determination and good plan, even the more difficult armies to paint can be done to a reasonable level in a reasonable amount of time.

It's all about figuring out how to paint what you want to the level you want with the easy steps you can.

Nice going. The completed force looks great together, and impressive effort with the time.

Now if I'd been painting at that speed since my early days I would have had well over a hundred completed armies by now. That's a sobering thought

WHOA! Man that's some wicked decent work! I've always had a soft spot for Freedom Fighters standing against Imperial tyranny, but this is very well done on top of that. Really like the Grimdark theme throughout, nice highlight effects and excellent conversions.

The totals are a lot lower than last year, especially for models assembled, but I feel like overall quality is up.

2013 should bring the completion of the dwarfs and further work on the white marines and 2nd edition Orks, along with some attention to some Necromuda gangs.

Averages out to be 2 finished models per day. That is epic, especially considering the incredible detail and quality you put on each miniature.

Looking forward to your 2013 offerings.

I had this laser cut a few years ago and finally got around to building it. It was drawn from the of White Dwarf templates found in issue 136.

A little extra styrene and many rivets and liquid greenstuff later and we have this.

Same here. Orks in 2nd Ed were my first real army and I loved them for the Kulture and the completely random weapons like the Hop Splat Gun and Pulsa Rokkits. Those were the days when Orks were cool.

Had this guy kicking around for a few years, decided to paint it up. Only took 3 hours or so, and I'm really happy with the result.

Assembled and painted in 2 weeks. I used most of the FW upgrade kit. Painted as a vassal of the Warp Runner Legio. Fun kit to put together, definitely have to follow the instruction to the letter. Flames are fun to paint.

I started this in March...

Pilot is the servitor from the Stormraven, wired in to the cockpit with Dragonforge cables.

Base is a cast from the Zone Mortalis tiles grafted onto a 60mm.

Yellow has no washes, shaded and highlighted by hand.
