Same here. Orks in 2nd Ed were my first real army and I loved them for the Kulture and the completely random weapons like the Hop Splat Gun and Pulsa Rokkits. Those were the days when Orks were cool.

Had this guy kicking around for a few years, decided to paint it up. Only took 3 hours or so, and I'm really happy with the result.

Man, I love this stuff! Nothing like the classics, and your painting is outstanding. Wish GW would make more models like the various human citizens of the Imperium shown on this thread.

I have one of those too! Really excited about painting him up but other things keep getting in the way. :(

Love these guys. Your paint job does a great job of bringing out the color and hint of humor that orks still sport, while at the same time conveying their feral deadliness.

Don't get me wrong, I also love your retro style, and admire the craft you bring to that body of work. But that's a very different vibe: more about a kind of nostalgic love for toys.

Painted up in a scheme matching one found in an old White Dwarf.

your definitely a fan of old models and it shows. You painting looks like old school white dwarf, super bright colors and flat panels. Then all of a sudden you busted out the dark vengeance chosen and have really really detailed painting and weathering.

Extremely talented dude, I really want to keep an eye on this thread.
