You may remember the mobile home I painted: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/343814.page
Well, I have expanded the trailer park, finishing a couple of dumpsters, a sign guess where it is from!) and a second mobile home. I'll have pictures later this weekend of a VERY expanded trailer park as I have contracted out several other pieces which came out great. For now though, here are some pictures of the stuff I finished this week:
Thanks for looking.

Nice work! although now it kind of makes me inclined to make a trailor park battlefield for 40k, and I would even put Britney Spears on a lawn-chair holding a can of Budweiser as dangerous terrain!

Remember, if a blast template scatters onto one of the trailers, on a 6, it's a meth lab and blows up! (STR 5, AP 5, large blast, remains dangerous terrain)

Post by: Nowlan
Large blast? More like Apocalypse large blast, assuming its a meth lab large enough to take up a considerable portion of the trailer.
Anybody within a 1' radius of the blast requires decontamination by turn 5 or they suffer 1 wound.

That's some creative terrain. The dumpsters are a nice touch, though I'd expect to see a corpse in there. I especially liked the tarp being used to cover the hole in the roof. The bricks as weights are great.

Be careful what you wish for. In a trailer park that shady, if there was a corpse in it, it would probably be a baby. Afterall, I don't see one of those rediculous "no babies" signs on the side.

Still looking for suitable cheap cars to dirty up and put on blocks, some pink flamingos, and I need to get a urban mat, BUT here is the Tophet Meadows Trailer Park, in all its glory!
I had bought the Plasticville Hobo Jungle and Trailer Park in O Scale and sent them along with a couple resin pieces to Sabol Studios ( http://www.sabolstudios.com/ and his pictures which are better than mine here: http://www.sabolstudios.com/redneck-utopia )
A bunch of pictures here: http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg134/CptJake_Minis/MobileHome/Full%20Trailer%20Park/

OK you are getting there. You don't need too much more.
A few things missing:
Tied up dog with one of those circle running paths because of the length of his chain.
A car needs to be on blocks.
Motorcycle parts with grass growing through them.
NASCAR references.
Also if you do any source lighting or use actual lights, I would suggest some sort of UV light coming from a few of the trailers.
4402
Post by: CptJake
I'm trying to find a cheap 1:43 or so scale car to put on blocks. I have a few dogs, but they will end up on slot bases like other figures.
I may try to turn that American flag into a NASCAR banner... Good idea!

I'd love to play one of the various Zombie survival/skirmish games on the market with this terrain!

Post by: CptJake
Thanks. I use Two Hour Wargames "All Things Zombie" for zombie games: http://www.angelfire.com/az3/twohourwargames/pages/atz.htm
Their FREE Chain Reaction 3.0 rules for cops against gang bangers, gang banger against gang banger, SWAT take down of the meth lab and similar games: http://www.angelfire.com/az3/twohourwargames/pages/cr3.htm
And also play Ganesha Games 'Flying Lead' and some of their other rules (Fear and Faith for Zombies). http://www.ganeshagames.net/horror/ and http://www.ganeshagames.net/modern/
Plenty of other rule sets too. Definitely not just for show, this stuff was put together to be used.
I'm working on a convenience store/Stop-N-Rob too. Gotta have some place for the denizens of Tophet Meadows to buy their Lotto scratch and lose tickets, cheap beer, and cold medicine (to use in the meth lab).

Thanks for the comments guys. A bug zapper would be cool, but I've never messed with lighting for terrain.
The stacked TVs does sound like an option...
I've thought of clothes lines, they would be easy to do but I worry they would make it hard to place/move figures.
Skalk: Plasticville has a lot of cool stuff. Most of my resin accessories are from Black Cat Bases. You can get a lot of O scale stuff at decent prices from http://www.hobbylinc.com/

This week I painted up some Brigade Games Boondockers from their Atomic Cafe line. One had a slightly miscast base and foot but some putty fixed that. Minimal flash, and very characterful figures. Fantastic faces. The one with a cleaver could probably be painted as a zombie, but I've made them all as live inbred inhabitants of Tophet Meadows Trailer Park.
I also got back some figures I had sent to Garden Ninja Studios to have painted for me. Drew there did a FANTASTIC job, and I can not recommend their services enough. http://www.gardenninja.com/
Anyway, here are some pictures:
Inbred Hicks (painted by me):
Some LAF minis drew did, mixed with some other figures he did, and the figures I did to show how they compare in size:

I painted up this resin peice from Ainsty Castings ( http://ainstycastings.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/475 )
This has been primed for ever, sat base coated for over 3 weeks, and I finally finished it up this weekend. 1st and 3rd pics are too "yellow", the lighting is not good at all. 2nd pic shows the true colors and it looks really good! Any chance for pics of the front of the truck? I'm betting there's some horrible ram-plate welded on the front that is perfect for "hunting" deer.
4402
Post by: CptJake
The lighting is bad. It is really rainy out so natural light is non-existant. The good picture used the flash, the others did not. The flash made the grey armor plate look shiney in another picture though so I quit using it...
26139
Post by: Skalk Bloodaxe
Yup, the front of the truck is just what I was hoping for. I am really enjoying the concept of what you are doing here and you have motivated / inspired me in some aspects with my own work. Is there a specific game all this goes with or are you doing this simply for the absolute awesomeness of it all?
4402
Post by: CptJake
I've got a few sets of rules I use this stuff with.
All Things Zombie by Two Hour Wargames and their free set of rules called Chain Reaction are the main ones. Between those two sets you cover gang on gang warfare, SWAT/Law Enforcement and military against bad guys, and all of the above against Zombies.
I also recently got a cool set of rules called It Came From Beyond the Still which has feuding hillbillies against aliens of various flavors. It is not a 'serious' game but looks like it will be fun. I just ordered a bunch of Grey aliens and have a resin still I need to paint up.
Basically I use all the terrain for current/near future/post apocalyptic gaming.

I left the casting as is, didn't add anything to it. I understand your point, but adding armor (or anything else) to the casting was beyond the effort I wanted to take on this. I do have another armored car like what I used for this SWAT vehicle I intend to dirty up and add all kinds of post apocalyptic accessories to:

I just finished up my Grey Aliens I got from ZombieSmith: http://www.zombiesmith.com/products/grey-assault The security team is in red (as all good security teams are), The Captain is in a yellow tunic, and the science team is in blue. The sculpts are a little cartoonish, but I liked them for that reason (and painted them accordingly). They are cast with tabs to fit on slot bases and come with 25mm bases, but the minis are so small I felt the bases were way too big for them. I cut off the tabs and put them on washers as a result. They come to anally probe us, vivisect our cattle, steal our women folk, and secure our whiskey stills for their own nefarious purposes! The must be stopped at all costs! Anyway, all comments appreciated. These were a fun little project for me. Jake and a few more pictures here: http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg134/CptJake_Minis/Alien%20Invasion/

A quick update, one of the games I use this terrain for is "It Came From Beyond The Still', a great game where rednecks and aliens and MIB can all go at it. The Greys can place Pink Flamingos, some of which are actually sensors. So, since every trailer park needs pink flamingos anyway...
