Welcome to the regimental log of the 197th Bataviran. Here everything can be discussed that cannot be discussed in the recruitment thread.
Trolling is punished by the commissars...
Some regimental traditions:
Dead friends and lost comrades are tattooed on the bodies of the still living friends.
There are Bataviran veterans that have over hundred of these tattoes on their bodies.
Kill records:
"According to the Batavirans, actions speak louder then words. It's better to do ten good deeds to the Emperor then praise him a hundred times. Of course the Batavirans want to show how good their faith is, how loyal they are and that is why they keep track of their kills." And what is more fun then seeing your character grow and packing up kills? I started counting from the battle against Tyranids.
There are a couple of categories:
B. F. = Battles fought, L. I. = light infantry killed, H. I. = heavy infantry killed, M. C. = Monstrous creatures killed, L. T. = light tanks destroyed, Ta. = tanks destroyed, S. C. = special character. To. = total points.
Shortened to: B. F. | L. I. | H. I. | M. C. | L. T. | Ta. | S. C. | To.
Light infantry gives one point, heavy infantry (Elites and commanding troops) give two points, MC give four points, light tanks (skimmers, fast tanks) give 3 points, tanks give 5 points.
Special character give 4 points.

The casualties are done like this: Roll a D6, 1-2, the casulties are wounded, 3-4, the casualties are badly wounded and thus skip the next battle. 5, Some of the wounded are dead (D3), 6, half of the wounded are dead. Apply the following: -2 if there is still a squadmember alive, +1 if the unit is destroyed or has fled, -1 if the game was a draw or we won the game, -1 if a friendly unit was within 6''.

New battlereport: We played a small game of combat patrol. On a 4’by 4’board. Deployment was spearhead and we played annihilation. My opponent was also IG. I forgot the camera, so no pictures… (I will bring it next time!)
I used this list:
CCS: 85
krak, meltagun x 2, meltabombs, vox
PCS: 40
AC
IS: 120
melta, commissar, pw x 2, meltabombs
IS: 80
melta, vox, pw, meltabombs
IS:75
melta, pw, vox
My opponent:
Vets: 155
melta x 3, chimera
Vets: 155
melta x 3, chimera
Sentinel: 40
AC
Sentinel: 40
AC
I got the first turn and my opponent failed to seize.
The little black hooks are cover.
“We ‘re send out to patrol the city, because it was said that mutants had set up camp in this area. We ‘re allowed to engage if possible. When we saw the mutants, our commander ordered us forward.”
1th turn: CCS & blob run forward, due a lucky roll, I can “movemovemove” twice on the blob and run 13 inches! The blob is now in cover. PCS fails to hurt the sentinel.
“Together with the other sergeants and the commissar, we ordered our men forward. Demitrix Nulstovsky immediatly started yelling curses at the enemy.”
My opponent drives towards me with his chimera’s and sentinels.
The CCS goes down to one meltagunner and a company commander with 1 wound.
The PCS loses one guy and the blob loses one guy.
“The mutants got into their vehicles and the sentinels opened fire on our commanders.”
2th turn: Everything moves forward again and the CCS destroys chimera 1
The PCS shakes sentinel 1 and the blob destroys the other chimera. (7 veterans get out.)
The CCS charge the veterans in close combat and manage to survive.
“Our commander bravely threw himself and Bryon Reinne into combat and tied up those bloody mutants.”
My opponent fires his sentinel at my PCS and cause them to flee.
Veterans2 kill 3 in the blob and charge, killing 2 more. (Blob down to 24)
The blob strikes back and kills all but four veterans.
Veterans1 kill the CCS in close combat.
“Our company commander got beaten down in combat by those mutants and the sentinels opened fire on the platoon commander. Then we got attacked by the mutants. We got into close combat with them and I managed to strike some down. When I looked back I saw see our platoon commander fleeing away… That coward, I hope they find him back and make a nice servitor out of him. ”
3th turn: My blob wipes out Veterans2. I consolidate into cover.
“Those mutants were no match for our glorious soldiers. We killed all of them. The mutants look better when they are on the sharp side of a bayonet than walking around.”
My opponent fires with everything on my blob and charges with the other veterans, killing 3. (Blob down to 21)
“The mutants fired at us, but we kept the men motivated.”
4th turn: I get into 12’’ of veterans1, open fire and kill all but one. The last veteran flees.
“We moved closer to the enemy and fired with our lasguns! It’s nice to see how easily they die due our fire. ”
My opponent moves his sentinels away and fires at my blob. (19 left)
“This battle was almost over. We had wiped out the mutants except for those two bloody machines. Yet they tried to make a run for it.”
5th turn: I move towards one sentinel and manage to stun.
“We decided to go after one of the sentinels. While we ran after it, some men opened fire and one of the meltagunners managed to shake one of the fleeing machines.”
My opponent kills one IG with his sentinels. (18 left)
“Knowing it was well out of range, the fleeing sentinel fired at us before he continued to flee. ”
6th turn: I destroy sentinel1.
“The sentinel that couldn’t get away, was blown up by our brave meltagunners.”
The last sentinel keeps distance and fires at my blob and I go-to-ground. 1 IG dies. (17 left)
“The last sentinel kept moving away, so we decided to lay upon the ground, waiting for it to have vanished.”
7th turn: I keep laying on the ground.
“We patiently waited until the fleeing machine was gone.”
My opponent fires on my blob again killing one more. (16 IG left)
“The machine fired one more shot and killed one of our curious soldiers. After that the machine moved out of sight and we didn’t see it again.
Later when we moved away, we found that damned machine. It got stuck in some pool and the driver was impaled with a stick. “Greetings from the 222th Catachan” was carved into the stick.
This was a good battle and good for the morale of our men.
May the Emperor smile on you.
Sergeant Sam Aas, first platoon, fourth company, 197th Bataviran.”
In the end I won: I think I was really lucky this game, because my opponent couldn’t use his heavy flamer. If he did, I would be in a lot more trouble.
Heroic persons: The blob squad. I can probably say that they won this game almost singlehandedly.
If it weren’t for the sergeants, the commissars and the meltagunners, I wouldn’t have won this game. And let’s not forget the unnamed heroes that made up the majority of the blob squad.
Also, let’s not forget Bryon Reinne, the last meltagunner in the CCS that blew up a chimera.
Casualties:
CCS: One of the two meltagunners died during the attack. The rest is lightly wounded and will be back in action again soon.
PCS: Here one meltagunner died, as well as one of the AC loaders.
Infantry squads: 3 dead soldiers, the rest will be back in action in a couple of days.
Hazah!!! Praise be to the God Emperor of mankind!! May the bright light of his noble spirit fill the galaxy and burn away all darkness cast by those heretics and xenos who dare to defy his untold power! Rejoice comrades! For tonight we dine in the light of our glorious victory! (Sneaks away from the main body of soldiers and rolls up his sleeve, useing the edge of his axe he carves a thin line into his skin). There, another kill to be remembered. . . hmm. . . that makes a total of 11. . . sigh. . . nowhere near enough. . . I hope the others are doing better (Rolling his sleeve back up, Demetrix returns to the edge of the crowd of soldiers, and contents himself with listening to the banter between soldiers)
“Finally, we received word from our regimental commander major Falkenhorst. We had to advance in front of the army and take the tower ahead of them. There was an important communication set up in there and if we kept that position we would have a large advantage in the following campaign. If that wasn’t possible, then we had to prevent the Tyranids from attacking our flank. Sounded like an easy task, although it disturbed us that we would be under another company commander instead of our usual commander…”
We deployed up to 12’’ and my opponent went first. I failed to seize. We played with two objectives, marked with the green circle.
At the start, the field looked like this:
He kept his Trygon and Hive tyrant in reserve and I kept Marbo and the Stormtroopers in reserve.
1th Turn:
My opponent spawns 13 little Termagaunts and the Tervigon is empty. Then he moves them forward. So that means my opponent will has 3 troop choices and I have 4.
“So after marching for a couple of hours, we arrived on our destination. We had send out the Stormtroopers to scout ahead and Marba, although none of them had reported back. That was quite disturbing. Another setback was to see that a large Tyranid was already sitting near the communications tower. But the worst was that some Termagaunts noticed us and immediately came towards us.”
I move forward and make a run movement because I haven’t brought any long-range firepower. I keep one platoon squad hidden.
“We had to take the tower one way or another, so we went forward.”
2th Turn:
My opponent his Trygon appears and he moves everything forward.
“While we were running forward, a large Tyranid appeared out of the ground! He just climbed out of the sand and started firing at us.”
I move forward with one PCS, the rest of my army remains stationary.
Marbo appears and throws a democharge. He manages to kill 7 Termagaunts. Opening fire with a platoon I kill 3 more gaunts. There are 3 gaunts left.
One of the two platoon command squads is still in cover.
“There was some confusion on the battle field. Marba was already near the tower and she threw a democharge, killing a large part of the Termagaunts that came at us. The soldiers opened fire on the Termagaunts while others fired at the Trygon.”
3th Turn
My opponent his Hive Tyrant appears and together with the Trygon they open fire, they kill 1 Guardsman. The termagaunts get back in cover. The 3 remaining Termagaunts attack Marbo.
Marbo kills all of them and the Termagaunts kill Marbo.
“Marba struggled with the surviving Termagaunts while the rest attacked us… When suddenly a large flying creature appeared out of the sky! It just flew into the battle!”
I move my platoon command squads forward and a blob squad. The other blob squads open fire and hurts the Trygon (4 wounds remaining).
“One way or another, we had to get that tower and I went forward with my squad. Most of the soldiers still fired at the larger creatures and wounded them.”
4th Turn:
My opponent moves his Termagaunts towards his objective and his Tervigon a bit forward.
The Trygon and Hive Tyrant get in close combat with my army and inflict a lot of casualties.
“The flying creature and the Trygon attack our soldiers and inflicted a lot of wounded and casualties.”
The storm troopers arrive and put two wounds on the Tervigon.
The PCS’s move forward and my blob gets wiped out in close combat. (I forgot that I had summary execution!)
“The storm troopers finally did something, they were probably hiding ot get the best shot and they fired on the large Tervigon. While that happened, our troops broke and were run down by the large Tyranid.”
5th Turn:
(The landing field is removed for the sake of the photo’s.)
My CCS gets wiped out by the Hive Tyrant. (I forgot I had an inv. save on my commander!)
The other blob gets assaulted by the Trygon. I take some casualties and I inflict 2 more wounds. (2 remaining)
My storm troopers get slaughtered by Termagaunts.
“The storm troopers chose the wrong time to appear, because the Termagaunts immedialty attacked them and overran them. But that wasn’t the only thing, our commander also died.”
My PCS’s rushes forward and my commissar, in the remaining blob, kills the Tervigon!
When I need to roll to wound I roll a double 6.
“Still I urged my squad to go forward when the large Trygon fell down. The commissar had climbed on his back and driven his power sword through the back of it’s skull, an action worthy of such a great man.”
6th Turn:
The hive tyrant assaults my remaining blob, killing everything besides the commissar.
“However as soon as this creature went down, that flying thing attacked the squad. He just smashed his way through them…”
All or nothing, I sprint forward with everything. I manage to get one of my PCS’s near the objectives. None of us holds an objective and we contest the same so it’s a draw.
“Despite all this, I charged forward with my squad. We managed to sneak into the tower and close the door. I took a look around and all the equipment was damaged. Everything was broken, twisted or scattered throughout the room. So we went to the roof and we could already see the rest of the regiment arriving in the distance.
We prevented the Tyranids from assaulting our regiment and we had the tower, however we couldn’t fix it and we lost many a great soldiers. Atleast we crushed many of those bugs!
May the Emperor smile on you,
Lieutenant Arntsz "Suv" Suberiv, first platoon, 197th Bataviran”
Afterthought: So… I really need to learn my army better. I forgot the invulnerable saves, although not a disaster, it still was important.
And how could I forget summary execution?! The most important rule of a commissar… If the second blob lasted longer, the entire game would have turned out different.
(wo)Man of the match: It's got to be the commissar, that killed a Trygon on his own.
Still it was a very good game and I managed to buy a box of 2th edition Cadians and a Wyrd model for 18,- euro. Just wondering, but would this lady be suitable as a priest or as a commissar? Or would she be a better sergeant?
Casualties:
CCS: All died, but it wasn't our usual commander.
Stormtroopers: One of the stormtroopers died, the others survived.
One of the blob's has only wounded and no big problems.
The other blob has no problems at all and will be back in action next time.
Priest, i think: as its not uniformed enough to be the others.
13: thanks commander for welcoming me aboard. ready and willing to burn the emperor's foes!

I also appreciate the smell of dead bugs in the morning...
born on the hive world of steelfall larry made his living like many other children: as a juve ganger, though unlike others he sold his incredible skills with technology to the highest bidder until age twelve, where he hacked into a freighter's main computer and stowed away to batavaria where he worked as with the mechanicus and computerized his left eye into an outwardly human but truly augumentic organ. soon though he joined the imperial guard as a trooper but at the recommendation of the magos he who was his former boss he was initiated as a stormtrooper into the 197th not three days ago
quirks: optimistic, wet behind the ears, incredibly good with electronics (even managing to restart a lascannon with tin-foil, some data-chips, and the wires of a pict-feed.
looks: dark brown eyes, a mass of black hair tan skin like that of a tallarn (his father was a tallarn) and a bag of top quality tools and slicing devices.
and yes his last name is homage to my favorite character in the web comic servants of the imperium, Krin O'kar
Samuel:'Wrong sir, surprise. We werev knocked unconcious, but DID survive. n our way back, we spotted some places that had been wiped out, but not by the Tyranids....'

Vordon: I'll point it out to Major Falkenhorst, our regimental commander!
Maybe he'll send us on another patrol.
Also, we never asumed you have been wiped out, only one Stormtrooper died.
Perhaps you should see one of our medicae? That Tyranid did hurt you on the head after all...
(As for all of you, maybe I have a little game tomorrow, but I ain't sure since I have a lot of exams this and the following week, thus no games.)
A slight problem... GW hasn't delivered my Stormtroopers yet. (It was around two weeks ago...)
Correction: They haven't even send it away. My FLGS says that at best, I'll have them around saturday, however it can be later.
So I cannot paint them yet.
I'm sorry...

Just wondering, but what parts of the fluff you like?
Also, if you have any question, I'll gladly answer them.
And I placed some photo's of the AC teams online.
I was thinking about introducing medals into the regimental log.
A couple of examples:
Medals:
Iron eye: Get a total of 5 kills.
“Honing your training in boot camp, you know what to do on the battlefield.”
Bronze eye: Get a total of 25 kills.
“You are experienced in combat and accustomed to your weapon.”
Silver eye: Get a total of 75 kills.
“As an expert with your weapon, you know the exact capabilities and where to aim.”
Iron tank hunter: Destroy 5 tanks (Light or normal).
“Upon the field of battle, you don’t flinch for a hostile tank.”
Bronze tank hunter: Destroy 15 tanks (Light and normal).
“You have destroyed quite a number of tanks, you know where to aim and you know when to fire. ”
Silver tank hunter: Destroy 30 tanks (Light and normal).
“Destroying many tanks has helped us achieve many victories, that’s why you are awarded with this medal.”
Iron monster hunter: Kill 5 Monstrous creatures.
“Bringing down five of these monsters isn’t easily, that’s why we give you this medal.”
Bronze monster hunter: Kill 15 Monstrous creatures.
“You’ve brought down a lot of monstrous creatures, helping us achieving victory once more!”
Silver monster hunter: Kill 30 monstrous creatures.
“A large monster is attacking you? Just hand you your weapon and you will fix it.”
How do they sound? Cheesey? Stupid? Boring?
If you guys like it, I can make some more as well as some pictures for them.
Try coming up with some more creative names, something that isn't to repetitive or generic, I know it's hard, but try anyway, you never know what you might come up with. Instead of using Iron Bronze and Silver for example, you could use mundanus, normal (just don't put anything), and maxima or perfecta, that way it sounds a lot cooler.
Also some ideas for new medals:
The Ribbon of Crimson: Awarded to a Commisar who manages to keep his unit in line (When his/her squad fails its morale then passes thanks to the Commisars reroll)
The Master's Cross: Awarded to an officer who shows a fine example of leadership on the battlefield (When he rolls inspired tactics upon giving an order)
The Order of Vindictus: Awarded to a priest who leads his unit with a glorious charge that lead to absolute victory (When he and his unit charge into combat and annilate the entire enemy unit)
Just a few ideas you can change the names if you want.
Order of Avernus: Awarded to people gaining a total of 50 points.
During the Horus Heresy, a regiment of Elysian droptroopers were dropped on the Arnheim dome. The other loyalists would them move up and advance through Endhov to take two domes and the same time and get a swift advancement through the heretics their lines.
However this failed very badly and the loyalists weren't able to take Endhov nor Arnheim.
After one month, the loyalists were able to take Arnheim and Endhov. Among the ruins in Arnheim was one surviving soldier.
Corporal Frygisch Avernus, armed with a flamer in one hand and a meltagun on his back, walked out of the ruins, greeted the loyalists, told them that he had kept the heretics at bay on his own for three days and that he would like it to be relieved from duty. When the major allowed this, the man fell down and never stood up again.
In honor of this great hero, the Batavirans made a medal after him.

Considering the clothing she has, or rather lack of, I think she would distract our dear soldiers more then help them...
Also, Demitrix, remember when you asked me for a mirror? I think I found one!
Are you sure your a Bataviran? Every Bataviran knows about the mirror smashing tradition, no bad luck invovled what so ever. Maybe YOU were just born on the wrong planet.
Barbarians! The ancient tradition of smashing things is very old. Dating back to even before the Horus Heresy.
You see in the old days, we as Batavirans had glasses. Then some genius thought it might be fun to, after you’ve used the glasses, throw them against a wall.
However, as the glasses soon became very rare and near extinct, the Bataviran government decided to start producing metal cups.
Then another brilliant man decided that it might be fun to throw the metal cups against the windows. "Because it's glass after all..."
After most of the windows were broken, a lot of people were wounded and a cup landed on the head of a passing inquisitor, the Bataviran government decided that it was forbidden to throw cups out of the window.
Then another genius appeared and said that mirrors ‘were windows to another world,’ the inquisition shot that guy the same day, because there is no other world then the Emperor’s world. However, that didn’t stop us from throwing cups at mirrors. So the Bataviran government decided in all their wisdom that it wasn’t good to throw cups at mirrors. That’s why there are rarely any windows or mirrors on Batavira.
I was actually writing a piece about why there are no windows on Batavira when I saw your posts...

Not that I dont throw glasses and smash mirrors...
And here we have our dear friend darthlakey and enjoy your mirror.
Corporal Morbosis, meltagunner in the second platoon.

"You'd better be dancing..."
The painting looks horrible since I zoomed in a bit too much...
If you are unhappy with the way you look, just let me know and we get you a different uniform.
And for the stormtroopers, I'll look for a mirror once GW decides to deliver them.
the mirror looks good, but I would prefer one with a fur hat, still the model is quite well painted for a rank-and-file trooper.
ps. his eyes are a little disporportionate. (just some constructive critisisim)
sincerely,
TrollPie wrote:Love my model loner, it looks great! All these have a lot of character and good paintjobs. I'm impressed.
Glad you like him, I'll paint your name on the base.

sincerely,
Why so careful with the critisism?
I'll look for one with a furry hat tomorrow, I'm going to bed now...
As for the stormtroopers, I'll paint them as soon as I have them!
"I just got word from Major Falkenhorst, on monday we have to engage heretics and mutants. He doesn't know how large the battle will be, but we have to expect heavy resistance."
I'm either going to play a 1250 or 1500 points battle on monday.
I'll let you know which one it is, when I know more.
(I'll probably know it tomorrow...)
And since you all have been training very hard, I expect a lot of good dice rolls!
No.. :(
GW must hate me... Tomorrow I'll go to the store and if they are there, I'll use them in the battle.
If they aren't, well, the Stormtroopers decided to try different clothing..
Alright, today I was in my FLGS to ask if my Stormtroopers had arrived after a month! (Well, three days short from a month...)
And GW stil hasn't send them yet...
I send a polite mail asking how this could happen, let's hope they reply.

So: The deployment was pitched battle and the mission was seize ground. We played on a 5’ by 5’ table instead of 4’ by 6’.
My opponent deployed first, he deployed heavily on one side and I deployed a lot on the other side. Al Ra’hem and Marbo would come from reserve. I saw that my opponent used a lot of terminators, which could be quite a problem…
The objectives are marked with the circles. (You cannot see one of the objectives because it’s behind the drinks…)
Our damn chickens got loose! Someone had released the livestock from the 197th Bataviran regiment! Quickly I gathered our brave soldiers and tried to look for them, we had to get back before diner, otherwise our cooks couldn't make a decent meal. Demitrix Nulstovsky and his platoon were further off to our right. Eventually we found our chickens and... some traitor Marines! At the start, the table looked like this:
My opponent moved forward and ran in his turn.
Immediatly the triators charged at us. I wasn't expecting a fight, but I certainly wouldn't retreat before I had my chickens or another meal!
I move forward in my turn and with one of the Rough Riders I charge the terminators. Four Rough Riders and four terminators die.
Quickly I pointed out the biggest threat and I used our brave Bataviran scouts to attack them. These heroic deeds were truly magnificent.
My opponent keeps going forward and fires with the Rhino’s, three IG in my platoon command die.
The enemy were after our chickens aswell! Perhaps they were hungry too? Atleast they were willing to fight over them...
Al Ra’hem arrives, he and his platoon kill six space Marines, I move the blob squad forward, my CCS fires at the Rhino and blows it up. 1 Space Marine dies.
Demitrix and his platoon came quickly when they heard us fighting with the traitor marines. He wasn't afraid of the combat and fired his plasma pistol straight at a traitor. He hit the neck and killed the bastard. In my squad, Bryon Reinne fired at a Rhino tank and it exploded. One traitor marine got stuck between the door and burned with the tank.
My opponent moves some Space Marines towards an objective and the others keep pushing forward.
The cursed traitors tried to grab one of our chickens and then tried to run away with it! Such a cowardice!
I move one blob squad, Marbo arrives and kills a terminator sergeant. My CCS fires at the captain but fails to wound.
Then Marba arrived, the girl who does't have all the marbles, and threw a democharge at the traitor marine captain, however a terminator sergeant intercepted it and was blown skyhigh!
I forgot to make a photo, but my opponent moves towards one objective and kills Marbo and wipes out my platoon command.
I move one blob towards one objective and fail to kill the captain with my CCS.
The fight was almost over, we had collected almost all our chickens when the enemy made a last attempt to grab them from us, they ran straight at us...
Then we rolled a 1 and the game ended.
Our brave soldiers responded with well aimed lasgun volley and wiped them all out. After that, we gathered all our chickens and were just in time for a good dinner! I must say, that the chickens tasted delicious, I think it's because they got some extra movement before we ate them.
May the Emperor smile on you,
Captain Detlev Vordon, 197th Bataviran.
Results:
I got two objective and contest one.
My opponent has one objective and contests one.
Thoughts: A pretty good game overall, I guess I really had a lot of luck.
I only suffered 16 casualties.
Casualties:
Both Rough Rider squads were slightly wounded, but will be back in action in no time.
The Platoon command squad is alright aswell.
Confirmed kills:
All the Rough Riders in Tolstoy's squad have an elite kill, except number 4.
Frips Reiser, Demitrix Nulstovsky, Finch and an anoymous flamer each killed 1 Space Marine.
Bryon Reinne blew up a Rhino.
The blob killed one Space Marine, but it wasn't clear who killed him.
Congrats guys!
I'm glad you guys like it, I updated the roster and Trollpie, are you sure that you want a Chaos head and a broken bottle? I do have some zombie heads, if you want them.

I'll try getting some Chaos Marine heads, I hope I can swap some in the FLGS... I'm a bit wondering about how I should do the bottle...
Hmm... Then we have to rob some meltaboms somewhere...
And the current positions for special weapon troopers in the squads are full. Maybe we can place some in the platoon command squads.
I would certainly advice you to ask permission to lieutenant Nulstovsky, if he grants it, I'll see what I can do.
And remember, tomorrow a big battle is coming up! I want everyone to be ready for battle!
DarthLakey wrote:Yep, just texted Nultovski and he's cool with it.
May I have the 'blob' kill credited to me and my rifle???
HERESY! We as Batavirans don't have cellphones...
You are placed in his squad.
And the last Space Marine died after failing 5 saves. So in theory, five people could get the kill...
I'll hand out the ''unknown kills'' aswell next time. This time, you are lucky and got him.
As for today, I was planning on bringing all of you to the battle, except first platoon command squad.
(This gives me enough points to field Demitrix as Al Ra'hem.)
6 Marines: 155
Slaanesh, Champion power weapon, Rhino
6 Havocs: 170
4 missile launchers
6 Marines: 60
Predator: 100
Heavy bolters
6 summoned daemons: 78
The deployment was pitched battle and we had the seize ground mission.
I deployed first and my opponent grabbed the initiative.
My opponent keeps his terminators and daemons in reserve, I do the same with Al’rahem, the storm troopers and Marbo.
While Detlev Vordon advanced with the majority of our army, my soldiers and I would perform an outflanking movement. It started quite good, but it would turn bad quite fast... The game started like this:
My opponent moves his rhino’s forward and with his Lash, he pulls a unit of Rough Riders into the open and kills them all.
Then he pops smoke on his Rhino’s.
While we advanced, we could see all of it happen... A sorcerer dragged the Rough Riders into the open with some sort of whip. Then he held them there, while the Chaos tank opened fire on them... I move my blob, CCS and PCS forward and immobilise a Rhino, the other Rhino gets destroyed by an AC squad, the other AC squad kills a Chaos Marine
It seemed to go quite good, when the Autocannon squads destroyed one Rhino and blew the tracks of another one, Detlev made the mistake of advancing with our troops. My opponent his Chaos Deamonnettes arrive and Khorne berserkers disembark, my blob gets slaughtered. My commissar bravely kills one berserker. My PCS and one AC squads suffer casualties, but keep fighting.
Deamonnettes and Khorne berserkers appeared and slaughtered our soldiers. There was nothing I could do to stop this slaughter! Nothing... Enraged, I urged my men even faster forward. I move my PCS and my CCS, but I cannot fire at the Khorne berserkers and such since they still are in close combat. Two Noise marines die because of my AC squads. My Rough Riders charge the Havocs and kill two. The havocs cannot kill any Rough Rider, loose combat and get run down.
Even in the darkest battle, you have brave heroes... These heroes were the Qidan’s Rough Riders, they charged a unit of Chaos Havocs and attacked them, the havocs tried to flee, but they couldn’t outrun the Rough Riders! My AC squads flee after suffering casualties, my PCS dies in CC with deamonnettes and my CCS dies from Khorne berserkers. My Rough Riders die too...
After that, they were gunned down by the cowardice Marines...
My Stormtroopers arrive and blow a heavy bolter of the predator, Marbo arrives and kills 1 Marine.
Then the stormtroopers and Marba arrived! They could really make a difference, but Marba her democharge failed and the Stormtroopers couldn’t destroy the predator. In my opponents turn two stormtroopers and Marbo die... The Stormtroopers flee...
Then the cowards opened fire on the Stormtroopers and Marba. Marba managed to dodge some bullets and fire, but a stray bullet hit her and she went off to the Medicae... Al’rahem and his squads arrive (finally!), the remaining Stormtroopers get their LD-check and blow up the predator. My last AC squad kills two Chaos Marines.
Finally we were close enough and we could do something! Samuel Linius regrouped his Stormtroopers and urged Keith Kolojeieh to fire at the predator, who decided to blow up the vehicle.
My AC squads get wiped out and my opponent runs for the objectives.
The cowardice traitors decided to run away! They ran away! I move forward and fire at the Deamonnettes, killing one. The blob fails to assault...
I urged my squads to go forward! I wanted revenge, we all wanted revenge! Yelling curses and insults we kept running forward. My opponent lashes one of my units back into cover, kills my last stormtroopers and keeps going for the objectives.
Those damned traitors just kept running away! Just damned freaking cowards!
I decide to grab one objective and Al’rahem and his unit whipe out a group of Chaos Deamonnettes.
Frips Reiser, the flamer guy in his squad, kills two Chaos Deamonnettes!
We ran forward and grabbed those freaking Deamonnettes and slaughtered them! They tried to lay upon the ground, but that wasn’t enough, we just slaughtered them! It felt good to have our revenge. The game ended there and I had 1 objective, my opponent had 2.
I lost the game...
We couldn’t keep this up much longer, we decided to gather our wounded and head back to base. There we would plan our attack, so that we could have another try.
May the Emperor smile on you,
Demitrix Nulstovsky, OoV, 197th Bataviran Thoughts: Alright, I made several mistakes this game and didn’t have much luck either.
I shouldn’t EVER charge Khorne beserkers, that was immediately 335 points down the drain. I don’t think I could recover from that. And besides that, I totally screwed this game up... I fired at the Deamonnettes, while it was much better to get in CC with them.
And Al’rahem squads arrived on the wrong side. If I had the other side, who knows how the game would have ended.
And I forgot that Melta’s have a +1 against vehicles...
Confirmed kills:
One of the AC squads, Santose’s squad, all have one kill.
One AC team destroyed one Rhino.
Keith Kolojeieh destroyed a predator.
Marba killed ‘just’ one Marine.
Commissar Hanno von Heiter killed one Khorne beserker.
Cheslav killed one deamonnette.
Hinch burned one deamonnette.
Demitrix Nulstovsky killed one deamonnette.
Frips Reiser killed two deamonnettes.
Casualties:
CCS:Wounded
PCS: wounded
Blob: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
Marbo: wounded
HWS: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
HWS: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
RR: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
RR: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
Medals:
Demitrix Nulstovsky and his squad are awarded with the Order of Vindictus, for wiping out a unit of Chaos Deamonnettes.
Qidan Tolstoy’s Rough Rider squad are awarded the Order of Vindictus, for wiping out a unit of Havocs.
Frips Reiser is awarded The Excelar Victorix, for wiping out two Chaos Deamonnettes in one charge.
Wear it with pride Cheslav, knowing that you made the Emperor proud of your actions on this day, and have been rewarded for it. And Reiser, congratulations on your recieveing of the Excelar Victorix. You have gone far and above your calling as a soldier, and I am proud to have so fine a guardsmen at my side in battle. However . . . you have not met your expectations as a Bataviran! Any poor sod can do his duty as a soldier! Now prove your a Bataviran and man up trooper! If you to prove yourself then you'll need to do a lot better then what you did in that cock up! That goes to the rest of you to! I will not rest untill every man in my platoon has done his duty as a Bataviran, 100 kills, bare minimum! No exceptions! C'mon then, double time to the training grounds! Tonight we go to sleep the Bataviran way, by collapseing from exhastion after a hard days training! Any complaints and I will personally beat the crap out of you! Any questions?! No?! THEN LETS GO!!!
Hmm... Alright, lets see...
Ask yourself these questions and some ideas will come, no?
The other parts are examples...
What does your squad usually do?
Dropping in from the sky and slaughtering stuff? Running around the field and being awesome? Blowing up stuff? What does your character/model/ squad do?
Commanding people/ following orders/ getting killed? What can they do, but they don't do it always?
They are an antitank unit, but they can also kill imporant characters? What is a cool act that they can do?
Usually they do this and this, so an act like this, they can also do it. What kind of act do you want him to perform?
An kick-ass assault? Killing over 100 troops? What cool act can you think of that can happen in game? Blowing up a tank, while wiping out the entire unit that is inside it?
Or you can look at the Kill records and you can do something with that.
"Taste the rainbow, get a kill in every catagory..."
What does your squad usually do?
Slaughtering the enemiez of the Big E
What does your character/model/squad do?
Commanding people, having fun What can they do, but they dont do it always?
They are all rounders. Everything! What is a cool act they can do?
They can move on the battlefield in mid- battle, then slaughter elite enemies and leaders.
What kind of act do you want him to perform?
an ultimate assault, slaughtering everyone.
What cool act can you think that can happen in game?
They will pop up, kill the enemy leader and then blow up a Land Raider
Alright, mind if I add some blunt ideas?
How about a medal for killing the enemies HQ and a tank in one game?
How about a medal for gaining 3 kills of both catagories?
How abotu a medal for killing a X number of troops/elites/HQ's/M.C./tanks/Special Character?
"I don't like celebrities"
Awarded for killing 5 S.C.
Now some fluff or when you can earn the medal?
If you feel creative, you can make a couple of them!
(When killing 3 S.C., when killing 5 S.C., when killing 10 S.C.?)
The outcome of the battle is not an issue as at least you have more and post them up than the 22nd!
But dam well tryed sir, its not often an army comes out of battle with any marines alive!
that to me show a grand level of comadership..
I'm glad you like it. After all, there are a lot of clones form this appearing, so we need something that makes us unique.
Any more wants/needs are welcome!

I'll paint your squad when GW decides to deliver them after 5 weeks or answer my emails why they haven't arrived yet.

New battlereport…
I was about to play a game against some guy, but he didn't show up, so I asked someone else for a game.
We both didn't really have a good list, so we placed some stuff on the table and got rolling
My list:
CCS: 80
melta x 2, vox, meltabombs
Marbo: 65
PCS: 65
Melta x 3, vox
IS: 120
melta, commissar, pw x 2, meltabombs

IS:75
melta, pw, vox
PCS: 105

IS:55
Flamer
My opponent didn’t have a written list so here’s what it was:
Warlord
Nobz on bikes
20 boyz
Deffkopta’s
Battlewagon
So... We played a capture and control mission.
There will be no fluff since there aren’t any survivors...
The field looked like this. We played on a 4’ by 4’ table.
My opponent moves forward and opens fire on my blob. I suffer some casualties in my blob squad.
My company command squad opens fire on the Nobz and kills two!
The blob fires at the Deffkoptas and wound one.
Everything moves forward and my entire army gets slaughtered! My blob, PCS and CCS get wiped out...
Al’rahem arrives and kills some orks.
The orks chargee the second blob, I don’t get a single kill and the biker nob goes towards the objective.
The orks kill Marbo, destroy my blob, I kill one Orks and kill my last PCS. I’m wiped out...
Confirmed kills:
Sohn Malatir and Bryon Reinne killed a biker Nob
Finch and the anonymous flamer both killed 2 Orks
The other soldiers in the second blob killed 9 orks.
Toland Von Heydte killed 2 orks, one in Close combat and shot one.
Casualties:
CCS: Wounded
Marbo: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
PCS: Wounded
blob: Wounded
(Al) PCS: Wounded and has to skip the next battle
blob: Wounded
You mean this bayonet? *pushes button* (two stiletto bayonets pop out from around the barrel) or do you mean this 'bayonet'? *pushes other button* he quickly reverses his grip as a large axe blade slides out of the stock.
Cheslav I changed my mind, you get to be my sparing partner, use whatever close combat weapon you want, I'll be useing purge. Also its now your job to make some more dummies, since your the one who destroyed them.
P.S. Don't do that again, I mean write what my character is saying/doing, you have no right to do that.
If your suggesting that my platoon be removed, or that their duties should be changed to fit your personal discreation, then your on latrine duty trooper. If you were trying to say something else, shut up.
I've been thinking about the following idea:
How about we all make a continuing story where all the characters take place?
Everyone can add a new part if they like and they may decide what happens in that part.
THey can go to combat, go to camp or do whatever you want.
There are only three conditions:
It must be between 50-500 words.
You cannot kill someone else his/her character.
You cannot post two times in a row.
If there are atleast two other people supporting this, then I'll make a thread for it.
I really thing this is a great idea, it will allow people to show us more about there characters, whilst similtainiously creating a good story for everyone to enjoy, good idea sir!
My opponent didn’t have a written list, but it was something like this:
1 Farseer
6 howling banshees, riding in a Falcon
6 Fire dragons, riding in a Falcon
8 Dire avengers
2 Falcons
1 Flying thing, that I didn’t know the name about. (Probably a Viper, but not sure…)
Now I hope that you know what it is, and don’t hesitate to add the point values!
We agreed to play victory points and we deployed up to 12 inch.
I got the first turn and my opponent failed to seize.
I had a very cramped deployment zone, since the table was 3 by 4 feet.
Now I wanted to prevent the Eldar from coming too close towards me. I was quite afraid of the Howling Banshees. I deployed in such a way that the Leman Russ tank was covered by the infantry squads.
A new Leman Russ and a Primaris Psyker had just arrived to our regiment. I took a small part of my company to the field for a little training exercise. The exercise went quite good and I felt that my men were ready for a bigger challenge. I wished to the Emperror for such a chance. Suddenly we saw some Eldar in the distance, going straight towards us. I thanked the Emperor and I seized the opportunity for a good exercise for my men.
Turn 1:
I move almost all my infantry forward and I fire with my Autocannon squads and the Leman Russ. However, I fail to do any harm.
The infantry squads are still used as a screen for the weaker units.
The enemy was coming straight at us, so I decided to get the best cover as possible for my own soldiers. The Leman russ and the Autocannon squads fired at their aircraft, but all of them missed…
My opponent moves forward, the howling banshees disembark and then my opponent opens fire, I suffer some casualties.
The Eldar came closer towards us and the enemy disembarked right in front of our guns! Turn 2:
I move further forward and I fire at the howling banshees, burning two away and shooting another one.
We carefully moved forward, trying to get the best firing positions as possible. Some squads were hiding in the buildings, so that they would not be seen.
My opponents moves his falcon with fire dragons towards my tank, but doesn’t blow it up.
The banshees assault one infantry squad and kill JUST one guardsman!
I strike back and kill two of them, the last one fails his LD-check and flees.
The enemy attacked one of our squads, but our brave soldiers hit back and they hit back hard! So hard, that the cowardice Eldar turned away and tried to make a run for it!
Turn 3:
I follow the enemy and mop up as much as possible.
All the fire dragons except one die from lasgun fire, the last Banshee is shot by my PCS, the Leman Russ battle tank wipes out the Dire Avenger squad. The Autocannon teams destroy a weapon on the Eldar flying thing. The special weapon squad blows up the Falcon and the explosion kills one Guardsman and the Farseer!
Now everything was on the right place, the Falcon with the fire dragons parked right in front of our meltaguns and within a moment it was a burning wreck! The explosion send pieces of derbish in all directions! One piece hit the Farseer in the throat, leaving a large pile of blood. The fire dragons that jumped out of the vehicle were shot by our brave soldiers.
My opponent hides behind a building and asks if we can quit the game.
I agree…
The Eldar retreated as fast as possible after our great glorious attack! Their aircraft disappeared behind a building. We suffered some wounded soldiers, but no major injuries.
May the Emperor smile on you,
Captain Detlev Vordon, 197th Bataviran.
The results:
I have lost around 20 Imperial guardsmen in one battle…
That is quite less, usually I have way more casualties…
Overall, I had a lot of good dice rolls and my opponent a lot of bad luck.
Man of the match:
The Leman Russ battle tank.
Confirmed kills:
Cheselav shot a howling banshee.
The Leman Russ battletank killed 8 Dire Avengers.
Ben Sledge destroyed a Falcon and killed a Farseer.
The sergeant of the last infantry squad killed a howling banshee.
The Primaris Psyker killed a howling banshee.
An anonymous soldier in her squad killed a howling banshee.
An anonymous flamer burned two Howling Banshees.
Pasqan Johk shot a Fire Dragon.
Sam Aas killed a fire dragon.
Lyanna Oiseaux shot a Firedragon
Alwin Schulze killed a Fire Dragon
Trooper Aleph shot a firedragon.
Medals:
The crew of the Leman Russ is awarded the Order of Vindictus for wiping out an entire unit of Dire Avangers.

Your a terrible singer Cheslav, never do it again, or I'll have you executed, probably by a commisar.
If we didn't have alchohol, there is no way I would be able to restrain myself from killing Cheslav, he's just too damn annoying, and I'm not about to drink in front of my men and then deny them access to it, that would be cruel. So that is why we have alchohol trooper, because Cheslav is too damn annoying.
Cheselav! Hereby you are promoted/demoted (depends on how you look at it.) to Demitrix bodyguard.
You just keep doing what you already do, but now you follow him around all day and spend much more time together!
So... Today two games of 40k. Just 500 points.
One against Necrons and one against Chaos Marines.
However, no Battlereports...
Why not, you might wonder?
Because in both games, I got wiped out to the last man and didn't make a single kill. So there will probably be a lot of casualties and wiped out units.
Now, I'll leave the decision to you, do you guys insist on having battlereports?
If so, then I'll post them, but I'll also post the casualties...
I'm sorry, that I let you guys down again... This is the fourth game in a row that im wiped out...
Perhaps an example of what went bad?
12 lasgun shots at Chaos marines... 1 hit...
Could it be the fact that your were playing IG against a insane genetically enhanced super soldier molded by centuries of or, or that you were fighting stalwart destroyers of countless unknown races in their religious purgings? Don't be to down, everyone has their bad streaks, and the people who are just bad get to have a nice chat with a commissar and his hellgun pistol. However since you are not bad, from the ones I have read, it's just a down streak, and you wont get shot with big lead slugs.

Against the Chaos Marine player I had just bad luck, for instance I get to shoot 6 shots with the AC squads and just one hit.
Or the flamer hits all Chaos marines, but fails to wound one.
Also I got slaughtered because he assaulted like three squads in one turn.
Then they ofcourse lost and all ran away. I still find this lame...
Against the Necrons I could have won, that is the stupid part...
We rolled Seize ground as the first mission, (the mission with 2 + D3 objectives), but since my opponent had just one troopchoice, he wanted to roll again and I agreed.
Thus we got Killpoints. My opponent had 3 killpoints and I 5...
Then my opponent asked if we could play without Phase-Out, because he just had 15ish models and I agreed again...
Some minor things occured, like where I think I had a coversave, but which turned out not to be there, because he could see them. (firing through two buildings...)
When I fired back at him, then suddenly just one of the AC teams could fire instead of three.
Lastly, my opponent got angry when his Tomb Spyder got in close combat with my Imperial Guard.
His Tomb spyder is part of the unit and thus the majority of the unit counts.
(For those among us that don't understand it: A Tombspyder (T6) makes Scarab swarms (T2).)
So I couldn't hit his Tomb Spyder, because I had to roll separatly for the Tomb Spyder.
And I agreed again with him, although I knew it was wrong and pointed it out, I agreed, just because it's a game.
Also: Can you allocate wounds on Scarab swarms?
AKA: There are three swarms, you suffer three wounds, can you allocate them or just remove one Scarab swarm?
Scratch that, it's not a unit that can take more than three wounds, you choose the unit you are shooting at and not who's being shot at. So no, that was illegal.
Thank the Emporer I arrived in time to drag all those wounded men back to the base, and call in an artillery strike on the Heretics. Drinks are on me tonight!

Yes indeed a nice move!
Also, I might get the Chaos Marine heads on friday or saturday, for your character.
Nemesis Dreadknight: 300
Personal Teleporter, Heavy incinerator, heavy psycannon, Nemesis Greatsword
We played capture and control. The deployment was pitched battle.
I deployed all of my forces except the Stormtroopers.
My opponent keeps his Grey Knights in reserve and wants to deepstrike them.
There was a lot of terrain, but that was actually pretty good, so we kept it.
The Inquisitor is a level one psyker and can give a psychic power to an unit. (Doom hammer if I recall correctly…)
I got the first turn and my opponent didn’t want to seize.
I deploy the tank and autocannon squads in cover and I deploy two infantry squads on the sides, with the idea of maybe grabbing an objective later in the game.
We had been out of supplies for a while, so we were in desperate need of supplies. Two containers were dropped by a Valkyrie, however, not on our positions... When we arrived on the spot, our enemies had also found the craters. At the start the game looked like this:
1st Turn: I move the majority of my army forward. The Vindicare would get a 3+ cover save, so I order “Fire on my target” on the autocannon squads. The Autocannon squads open fire and remove a wound on the vindicare Assasin. The Leman Russ fires, but scatters too far off.
There was some creepy sniper hiding in a large building, so I ordered my Autocannon squads to fire at it. There was also a large thing moving behind a building, but I couldn't see it clearly.
My opponent moves his dreadknight and his inquisitor forward. The inquisitor sticks to cover, while the dreadknight opens fire on an infantry squad. They suffer 7 casualties. The vindicare assassin fires, but fails to wound one of my sergeants.
The large thing appeared from behind the building and it looked like a mini-titant. However, this was a rogue titan and it opened fire on our brave soldiers!
2nd Turn: I keep several squads in cover. The three remaining survivors of the left infantry squad keep advancing. The rest of the army also advances. The Autocannon teams kill the vindicare assassin. One infantry squad fires on the inquisitor but fails to wound.
Joachim Heise, the sergeant of the infantry squad, boldly pressed on after suffering so many casualties. The Sergeant Kracken and Katrin Stark shot the creepy sniper that was hiding in the building.
My opponent’s grey knight squad with justicar arrives. Then he moves his dreadknight forward and wipes out one of my Platoon command squads with the heavy incinerator. The Greyknights that just deepstriked kill two Autocannon teams and wound the last one. Then the inquisitor charges one of the infantry squads. I lose two soldiers and the soldiers cause a wound on the inquisitor.
Then some crazy soldiers appeared, right among us. They had been hiding before the battle, waiting for us. Anyway, they opened fire on the Autocannons and caused some wounds. Then the large thing opened fire on one of my platoon command squads.
3rd Turn: The Autocannon fails it’s LD-check and runs away. I move my units towards the combat. The Leman Russ fires it’s battle cannon and kills 4 Grey knights. The Inquisitor kills one more Imperial Guard in close combat and I cause one wound.
Sergeant Kracken was hurt pretty baldly but he refused to leave his spot behind the Autocannon. I had to threaten him, otherwise he wouldn't leave his gun behind. Eventually he dragged Katrin Stark back to the medicae.
My opponent moves his dreadknight forward and attacks my Leman russ, the tank explodes and kills three of the Company command squad. The other Grey knight squad arrives and kills one of the left infantry squad. Then the lone Justicar charges into the close combat with the Inquisitor, but he suffers a perils of the warp attack and the Justicar is removed as a casualty. The inquisitor kills one more Guardsman.
The last surviving enemy charged at one of our brave infantry squads. Suddenly the rogue fell down and started clawing at his brains and dropped dead. That was a great thing to see!
4th Turn: I move almost my entire army around, the left infantry squad still tries to sneak towards the objective. The infantry squad that is in close combat with the inquisitor gets beaten and run down.
The fighting carried on! Joachim Heise still pressed forward with his squad.
My opponent moves his dreadknight and fires. The newly arrived grey knights fire on the sneaking infantry squad. I go to ground and manage to survive it. The inquisitor assaults my Rough Riders, but suffers a Perils of the Warp and dies.
The leader of the rogue suddenly ran towards our Bataviran Rough Rider, however this guy too fell down and started clwaing at his brains... What was it with these guys?
5th Turn: The stormtroopers finally arrive! They kill two grey knights. Then the Rough Riders charge the remaining three Grey knights and kill them all. After that I consolidate them and put them on a line, a stupid mistake.
Finally, our Stormtroopers arrived. They had found a good position and fired at the rogues and then the Rough Riders arrived and killed any survivors.
My opponent teleports his his dreadknight towards the Rough Riders and kills 5 Rough Riders and 2 Stormtroopers. The stormtroopers fail their Ld-check and fall back.
Then the mini-titan teleported around and attacked our Rogh Riders.
6th Turn:
I cannot regroup the stormtrooper squads, so I move towards my objective with all of my troops, but I don’t have it.
My sneaky squad has the other objective.
I ordered Demtrix Nulstovsky to go towards one of the containers. We needed atleast one container, otherwise we wouldn't have any food!
My opponent kills one of the soldiers of the sneaking squad. The remaining sergeant fails his LD-check and runs away.
Then the titan-like thing moved towards Joachim Heise and his last surviving soldiers, this was too much for him and he decided to drag his firend back to the camp.
7th Turn:
The stormtroopers regroup, fire and assault the dreadknight, but they are wiped out. The sergeant still falls back and I run towards the objectives.
Samuel Linius gathered his squad around. Apperently he was very angry for he charged the mini-titan singlehandedly. His squad followed him, a moment later. Too bad it was in vain, the titan swatted them aside, they are lucky to be still alive!
The dreadknight attacks me and fires at the last infantry squad. 8 soldiers die as well as a soldier in the company commander squad.
The large titant teleported towards us, opened fire and then teleported away again. We expected it to return, but it didn't...
So Demitrix Nulsotvsky grathered the container, while I went around to gather as much of our wounded as possible.
May the Emperor smile on you,
Captain Detlev Vordon, commander of the third company, 197th Bataviran
In the end, I got one objective, my opponent zero.
Afterthoughts:
That Dreadknight is a beast! That thing alone slaughtered my entire army.
It really smashed through everything that was in front of it, Leman Russes, Imperial guardsmen, Stormtroopers.
I think I got quite lucky with the orders rolls, I believe I haven’t failed one, thanks to the voxcasters.
As for another thing, movement is extremely important, if I moved the Leman Russ just slightly, I could have perhaps saved it, the dreadknight now had an auto-hit on it. If I spread out the Rough Riders more, I could have perhaps saved them as well…
Confirmed kills:
Sergeant Kracken and Katrin Stark killed a VincidcareAssassin
Samuel Linius and Keith Kolojeie each killed a Grey Knight
Olivia Asper killed two Grey Knights. (Lucky Rolls!)
An anonymous Rough Rider killed a grey knight.
The Leman Russ and his crew killed four Grey Knights.
Casualties:
The Leman Russ is out of action, let’s hope the Techpriests can fix it in time for the next battle.
The Stormtroopers are wounded.
The platoon command has to skip the next game.
The infantry squads are wounded.
The Autocannon squads are wounded too.
The Rough Riders are slightly wounded.
Medals:
Olivia Asper and her squad are awarded the Order of Vindictus for killing the Grey Knight unit.
Sergeant Kracken and Katrin Stark are awarded the Order of Vindictus for killing the Vindicare Assassin.
As for Trollpie, I got the Chaos heads today, and I’ll show a picture of the them when I painted them!
Thank you, commander. I am honoured that you would return to that cathedral to grab the heads of those traitors I killed. Of course, I would have done it myself, but I was too busy beating Samuel in a drinking game while roasting dozens of Xenos before sleeping with all yo mommas at once. I have a packed schedule.

I shall pretend as if I haven't read the last bit... Now if you wait 10 minutes, you can see how you look.
I hear some of the Catachans managed to escape into the jungle before the Inquistion could get them. I've sent out a patrol to look for them, so far nothing, but I'm sure we'll find them, those Catachans are tough buggers, it would take more than rogue Inquisitors to stop them!
As for our Stormtrooping friends:
Three Stormtroopers.
Laertes O'kar. Armed with the usual equipment and carries more stuff around.
Samuel Linius, leader of the bunch.
(If you want me to convert him, just say the word...)
500 points, Battlereports against Grey Knights.

My opponent finally send his list.
Inquisitor: 78
conversion beamer, power armour
We played the capture and control mission, as usually with a lot of terrain.
There is no fluff, since there were no survivors.
I keep the stormtroopers in reserve, my opponent deploys everything.
The objectives are in green.
I got the first turn and the field looked like this:
1st turn:
I try to spread out as much as possible. I fire at his Rhino, but fail to hit it. I want to try to sneak with one troopschoice towards his objective. I am holding one now and I might get his one too. I give Incoming to the infantry squad in cover. This means that they will have a 2+ coversave.
My opponent spreads out, opens fire on my Rough Riders, but fails to wound them and kills 7 Guardsmen in an infantry squad.
2nd turn:
I spread out a lot more, running from cover to cover and I manage to shake my opponents Rhino.
My opponent drives his Rhino forward, but it immobilizes and thus my opponent disembarks. Then he fires with his entire army at my Rough Riders. Just 4 die and the lone sergeant survives it.
3rd turn:
The Stormtroopers arrive! But, they don’t hit anything! Nothing hits the five grey knights!
I still sneak around with the platoon command squad and I move forward with an infantry squad.
Then an infantry squad charges the Chimera and because of the grenades, I can stun it. Then the lone Rough Rider charges the Grey Knights and kills 2 of them. Then the Grey Knights kill the lone Rough Rider.
My opponent disembarks his Psyker squad and fires at the infantry squad, killing one soldier. Then they charge me and I kill one of the psykers. The three Grey Knights that survived the assault from the Rough Rider attack one of my infantry squads and cause it to flee, the three remaining Grey knights consolidate. The Stormtroopers get shot by all the grey knights hiding in the buildings. Just one remains and he flees. Two Heavy weapon teams die from the conversion beamer.
On my 4th turn I regroup an infantry squad and charge the psyker squad with the platoon command squad. The lone stormtrooper still retreats.
My opponent kills my AC team and two from my company command. In close combat I kill one more psyker. The chimera and a grey knight team move forward.
5th turn:
I move around a bit and kill one Psyker in close combat.
In my opponents turn, he moves his chimera forward and kills the last fleeing stormtrooper. My Company commander gets attacked in close combat and his two veterans are killed.
In the other combat, I kill one more psyker in close combat and win the combat. I run down the psykers and I consolidate towards cover.
6th turn:
I run towards the objective in an All or nothing attack. I try sticking a frag grenades into a Rhino with frag grenades, but I fail. With another infantry squad I fail to stick grenades on the Chimera.
The Grey Knights kill my company commander in Close combat and consolidate.
I lose close combat with my last infantry squad and the rest of my army is killed. I’m wiped out… My opponent wins the game.
Still a good game, too bad that the Stormtroopers failed to do anything, if they killed one or more Grey knights then I could have probably won this game.
Still I enjoyed this game a lot and remember: It’s not a loss if you had a good game. I think I could have pulled a draw out of this if I assaulted the grey knights in close combat with my company commander with the remaining three soldiers from an infantry squad.
I shouldn't have assaulted the Chimera, but atleast it was funny to try it.
Confirmed kills:
Demitrix Nulstovsky killed 2 psykers
Reiser Frips killed one psyker
Marba killed 1 psyker
Cheslav Ivanovich Vasilii killed 2 psykers
Faticus Morebosis killed a warrior acolyte and a psyker
Irana Bonterre killed a psyker
Olivia Asper killed two grey knights singlehandedly.
Medals:
Demitrix Nulstovsky is awarded the Master’s cross for giving the right orders.
Demitrix Nulstovsky, Reiser Frips, Marba, Cheslav Ivanovich Vasilii, Faticus Morebosis and
Irana Bonterre are awarded the Order of Vindictus for wiping out a unit off psykers.
Olivia Asper is awarded the Excelar Victorix for killing two grey knights in one game and doing the same in the next game.
The inquisition marked the area for death, the higher ups for the IG was moving in for action because of horrible communication between the two, each did their jobs and the fallen are remembered on each side, all each had to say about the ordeal is that it never happened.
There are no reasons why someone should fight against the Grey knight, while they are still loyalists, so we shall just call them our opponent in the regimental log.
If anyone does have a good reason to fight against them with us being the loyalists, don't hesitate to post it!
The grey knights are so secret, that not one normal man may know about their existance... So I don't think they take training exercises with normal Imperial Guards.
they were trying to kill the general(who was corrupted), (but we didn't know). and he orderd us to kill the heritics that were closeing(we didnt know they were grey nights).
Updated the previous battle report!
And as a last goodbye, since I'm going on holiday, I played a little game of 40k today.
Battle report is up in say 30 minutes.
Battlereport against Necrons.
This is the same Necron player as before, now I can see if it were unlucky dice or my annoying opponent. I’ll leave the decision to you…
I used this list:
CCS: 65

Stormtroopers: 105
Melta x 2

IS: 60
Vox, Flamer
IS: 55

PCS: 35

IS: 60
Vox, Flamer
IS: 55
flamer
AC squad: 75
Rough Riders: 55
Leman Russ Battle Tank: 150
A total of 11 killpoints.
My opponent used a list like this:
Necron lord
10 Necrons
10 Necrons
Tomb spyder
Monolith
A total of 5 Kill points
Now before we start: My opponent plays without phase-out. Apparently he has a special house rule, that he doesn’t have to phase out… I just found this out when we started playing the game.
Secondly, as part of the campaign, I was allowed to field a hundred points more than my Necron opponent. But he had send me a message yesterday, asking if I couldn’t field those 100 extra points.
So since I thought, it’s just a game and why not.
So we rolled for mission and got Killpoints. Then we rolled for deployment: Pitched battle.
Then we rolled for deployment, my opponent wanted to go first, but changed his mind halfway during the deployment and I was allowed to deploy first.
I deployed the Leman Russ behind cover and the infantry squads in blobs.
My opponent deploys his Necrons out of sight of my Leman Russ and in cover.
In my first turn I move a bit around and fire with the Autocannons. Out of the three that were in range and had line of sight, just one could fire according to my opponent. Because you have to measure firing from the middle of the base to the middle of the base. I decided to keep the moral upper hand and I didn’t make too much of a hassle about it.
My opponent moves his Necrons forward.
In my second turn, my stormtroopers arrive and they put a wound on the Tombspyder and the scarab swarm, the rest of my army does nothing or fails to wound. The Rough Riders should assault, but the Necrons are in cover. With the cavalry rules in mind, I gladly roll the 2D6 and get snake eyes... My Rough Riders are now in the open without cover.
My opponent deepstrikes his monolith, kills a lot of troopers, wipes out my Rough Riders and destroys my Leman Russ tank. First my opponent says he will teleport a group of Necrons towards the portal, but they are outside of 18 inch. So he asks if he can fire the large blast. I shouldn’t agree with it, but hey, keeping the moral upper hand, I agree. And thus my Leman Russ tank was history. Then he assaults my Stormtroopers in close combat with the Tomb spyder. The lazy bastards get run down by the I2 monsterous creature.
In my third turn: I move my soldiers in front of the monolith to prevent him from coming any close to me. That’s the best thing I can do.
My opponent teleports towards me, since he finally is in range. The necrons fire on my blob squad and kill some soldiers. The whip thing wipes out one of my PCS’s.
In my fourth turn I assault his Necrons and I lost one soldier. The Necrons get their LD-check.
In his turn the opponent wipes out the blob squad and the opponent gets five out of the seven fallen Necrons back!
In my fifth turn I Kill the tombspyder and the scarab swarm with the Autocannon squads.
In the last turn, my opponent kills two of the Autocannon platforms with a large blast. At first he wouldn’t allow me an coversave, but when someone stepped in, he allowed me to take it. Not that it mattered, because I failed both saves.
We roll a 1 and the mission stops here.
My opponent has 4 kill points, I just have 1 and thus I lose the game.
After the game my opponent moans about how badly he takes saves and how cursed his dice are. In short: he just lost 5 necrons! 5 things while I lost half of my freaking army! He lost two scarab swarms, a Tomb spyder and two Necrons AND HE COMPLAINS HOW BADLY HE ROLLED HIS SAFES! That was very annoying to hear.
Now before I continue, let me state the following:
To me, 40k is just a game, winning or losing isn’t very important to me. Sure I’d prefer it to win rather then lose, but if both players have a good time is more important to me then winning. If it was a good and tight game, then I don’t care if I lose or win, because then we both had our fun.
When it isn’t fun, is when it’s clear that one side doesn’t have a chance to win. This is why I don’t play mechanized! Because I can make a list in such a way, that I would absolutely slaughter Necrons! I play in a friendly way, trying new things and doing things, because I like their fluff. If my opponent thinks he has a coversave, I let him have it, since that will not make the difference. If my opponent wants to shoot with something else after premeasuring, then that is fine, since we both play for fun!
Against this opponent I didn’t enjoy this game and these are the times I wonder why I play 40k and wished I power played.
Now I know that some people have an outdated codex and I’m willing to ignore little things or give the benefit of doubt. I wouldn’t mind it if my opponent atleast informed me before the game that he plays without Phase-out.
Since we are in a campaign and I recently lost a couple of games, I’m allowed to field extra points. I was wondering why I should do such a thing, those 100 points could have made a huge difference, but it isn’t really fair.
My opponent sends me a message asking me if I really wanted to use those points, since for IG it wasn’t necessary. Stupid as I am, I agreed not to use those 100 extra points.
As a final word: This is the last time I’m playing against this opponent.
.....No phase out, call BS, its rediculous, thats one of the major balancing htings for necrons, especially with a list like that(generally its a lord 20 warriors 2 monoliths and as many destroyers as you can fit, but thats just my opinion)
Now that would be sick. Could you imagine a Russ flying over the hill with a chain axe bayonet attached? Or even better yet, a mechanic dozerblade, it would look like teeth on a monster.
You know what would do good to? Put a chain saw in the middle of the tank treads, just imagine all that together, a chain bayonet, attached to a chain axe launcher, mounted on a Russ with a mechanical dozed and chain treads. Who would not gak their pants to the site of that? I mean you might have seen one of Slaaneshes Damonets nude... No, that's still more horrifying than the Russ. But it comes pretty damn close!
Its obvious, because this isnt GW only. Anyways, it would be cool iff Jervis Johnson would be on this site. He would get a slave called 'thenoobbomb'... (well, that is his real name, I suppose.. )
Let's reanimate this thread a bit... Alright: I wanted to add a new company command squad with a regimental standard and two meltagunners to our current regiment.
(That should look something like this:
CCS: 90
melta x 2, regimental standard, voxcaster)
Now the fluff behind it:
There is another regiment added to the current Bataviran regiment. The regiment is from a yet unknown planet.
Good: Regiments can often be added together.
This gives more oppurunity to paint different styles.
More different miniatures! Can allow new people to subscribe from a different planet.
Bad: Probably not the cheapest option.
Cultural differences.
Thoughts: I think this is a good option.
Another Bataviran company is added to our current one/
Good: Seems plausible.
It can happen more often then the other option.
Bad: Painting the same miniatures again.
The two regimental standards is not explained, yet.
Thoughts: Not my favorite option, but not a bad one.
Major Falkenhorst, the regimental "commander", has fallen from grace in the eyes of the wicked Prendergast, our real regimental commander.
Good: Fluffwise and RP wise, it opens quite some possibilities.
I can make miniatures for our regimental commanders.
Bad: The standard still isn't explained.
Still painting the same regiment.
Thoughts: Well, this is the second choice I would take.
Now, this is where your part comes:
What option shall we take?
I like this, it opens up new options for fluff and positions, which is always good.
Between the three options given, I don't really like the third one much. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, to me anyway.
I like the other two though, their a little more plausable in my opinion, and allows for the addition of new characters, instead of characters that are already known.
Some possibilites for the company/regiment option are that they recently moved into the area and decided to hook up with us since there is strength in numbers. Another is that the company/regiment has recently taken severe losses, and the survivors have moved into our camp untill they recieve additional troops. Another one for the regiment is much like the previously stated one, but they are instead reformed into our regiment.
Any preference for a certain planet where they should be from?
Custom made or an existing regiment?
Preference for a certain type of models?
(Armageddon, different painted cadian IG?)
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU (and so on)
Because my opponent didn't show up, I digged in the pile of old battlereports that I never have finished.

So here it is:

We played an alternative mission. The mission is called Forlorn hope and can be found on the GW website under the tab Armageddon missions.
Basically is like capture and control. I deploy two objective between 12 and 6 inch from my table edge. If my opponent touches one of them with a viable unit, he wins the game.
What is a viable unit? A Viable unit is any unit except a monstrous creature or a vehicle without a weapon skill value.
Before we start, I can fire a shot with every weapon on BS6, while my opponent can fire a bombardment in his first shooting turn.
Unfortunately I don’t have many long range firepower. I manage to shake a chimera and to kill one inquisitorial henchman.
I keep Marbo and the stormtroopers in reserve. My opponent will do the same with a purifier squad.
My opponent had the first turn:
He moves his chimera’s and one of his dreadnoughts forward. Then during his first shooting attack, my opponent can fire d6+1 small blast templates at me on BS2 with str 5 AP6. After that he opens fire on me with whatever is in range. I suffer heavy casualties on the right blob squad.
My turn:
I move some of my troops forward, keeping the Leman Russes near cover.
I manage to blow up one of the psy-dreads with one of my Leman russes. For the rest, my army fails to do much.
2nd turn:
The purifiers arrive and deepstrike near my troops.
Then my opponent immobilizes one of his chimera’s. The Librarian disembarks with a henchman squad. One of my Rough Rider squads flees after taking 3 casualties.
The other Rough Riders take 3 casualties from the purifier squad.
My second turn:
One rough Rider squad flees off the board and are gone.
I wipe out the purifiers and kill a inquisitorial henchman, the rest of my troops move forward.
The third turn:
My opponent moves his tanks forward and annihilates the blob on the left. For the rest I suffer some casualties. Coteaz and his squad disembark.
My third turn:
Marbo and the Stormtroopers arrive.
Using them I manage to wipe out the Librarian and his henchman squad. What’s left of the blob on the right side, manages to blow an autocannon off the dreadnought.
One of my leman russ shots scatters right on top of my last Rough rider, killing it.
The fourth turn:
My opponent moves his dreadnought and his tanks.
