Grrr i keep having these weird dreams lately regarding ghosts, and its disturbing me ...
First dream i had was there was this ghost that looks like a white smoke, normally it blends into the white wall so no one including myself saw it.
Then it became bolder and flung me down the stairs.
The other one was last night. I dreamed i was riding on the back of a scooter with 2 other people. It was nearly at night,
and we passed by a lake. Then i looked as we went passed someone walking on the side walk , and i saw his head wasnt a head , just a dark blue shadow.
I thought i was seeing things so i didnt say anything till we rode by another person this time was facing us, and it was even bluer and clearer than the last one.
So quickly i said did anyone , and they both said YES and then we tried to get away but was in a forest and they were everywhere.
Uncomfortable dream , anyone want to share theirs?

Worst dream I've had is one when I'm being chased then eaten by dogs.
I usually blame bad dreams on stress. Find some way to relax before you sleep, be it reading a book, listening to music, whatever. Seems to help me.

That won't do any harm unless you drink too much!
Last night I couldn't find my school uniform which was making me late!
Then I collapsed and had to crawl along the pavement and across a busy road.
The previous night I had a really odd dream too strange to tell, but it involved a huge queen ant laying eggs, prehistoric wall paintings and a flooded road.
See what I mean about not drinking too much water?

Used to have a fairly recurrent dream of going outside without any shoes on.
Whilst I cant class it as a nightmare the feeling within the dream was extrmely uncomforatable and worrysome.
Been years since though.
@Luna are you taking any medication atm? Thats one of the main reasons for bad dreams.

Ugh, my dreams... when I was going through puberty I had horrible skin on my back and had picked up some athlete's foot thanks to the locker room at school. After doing some research on how to fight the stuff I had dreams of cherry-sized plugs of red skin being pulled from my back and leaving massive craters were sensitive to touch and I knew wouldn't heal. My feet had little mushrooms growing out of them, rooted beneath the skin so it bled when I ripped them out and my foot was turning yellow like a bruise. I've got more

I actually, going off topic, had a really cool dream last night; I had this black trench coat on and was using this spear, killing daemons and stuff. Typical power fantasy dream, you know? Coolest part was probably when these two people merged into one monstrous (little shorter than me, but about three times as wide) cyclops and I stabbed it in the neck. Unfortunatly, it didn't care for that, so next thing I'm doing is running away

I keep having dreams where the worst possible scenarios in my life keep flashing past me, and they never stop until I wake up. Things like, my mother telling me I'm a failure and a disappointment, my girlfriend telling me she's been cheating on a man with a bigger , getting a dishonorable discharge from the navy, losing my prized possessions, my house being burned down, my dog running out into the street. Scary ing gak.
This happens like three times a week, and I'm starting to get worried. My life's been going quite well for the past year, and I feel like my dreams are telling me that my luck's ran out....

I rarely get nightmares, but when I do they're really vivid and freaky.
One of them was me, my mum and my brother arriving back home in the middle of a thunderstorm. We get to the front door, all the phones inside are ringing and the house it pitch black. My brother runs upstairs and all the phones stop, my mum disappears and a pale lifeless face appears in all the windows and stares at me.
Another was on the surface of a Mars-esque place, with a alrge square filled with missiles. All the missles launched, then immediately fell back down and hit the ground, exploding but doing no damage. Someone mentioned something about Plutonium and the scene warped to my house.
My brother ran into my room crying, one of his eyes was expanding in size until it burst, followed by the other one. I ran into my parent's room and my mum's eyes did the same. I remember being terrified as I felt my eyes expanding until they burst and I woke up.
For some reason, my dad isn't in any of my nightmares, just my brother and mum...

On the nightmares of being chased, I had one of those; I was walking through an ally with a box of Donuts, it was near pitch black. Anyway, I hear a crash behind me, and next thing I see is Death just charging at me Scythe raised. I just dropped the donuts and ran.

I mentioned this one once before ina ghosts dream or similar. I have a reoccurring dream where its a younger child, probably 10ish, trying to goto bed but hes to affraid to. So his mother is sitting on the side of his bed trying to console him. The room is really dark and you can see some faint light coming into the room from the door way. The mother asks why are you so scared? Is it nightmares? And the kid pulls the covers up a bit and says "no its the man in the corner" and the mom slowly turns around to see the dark outline of some man slowly coming out of the corner. I remember that I can almost see his eyes, and a very deep and very low sound when he moves, and its not like a normal person move, its almost like hes slowly sliding out from the corner rather then walking from it.
Freaky as feth that one is. I hate when I have it. Infact when ever I mention or think about the dream I get a cold chill and that uneasy feeling. So obviously that dream screws with my head

Worst one recently had me starring in an action movie (which was pretty awesome for most of the dream), at the premier party (which was nice), but during the dream I was experiencing both the party and my role in the movie. At one point I had to crawl into a narrow tunnel, and the opening was swarming so thickly you couldn't see the walls with these things that were about as big as your hand, blue and red, and looked like a cross between a spider and the warrior bugs from starship troopers. My mind objected to that strongly enough that I jolted myself awake, out of the dream, drenched in sweat. When I finally managed to fall asleep again, I had the exact same dream, with the exact same end result. I didn't go to sleep again after that.

I had a dream where I was an old man on my death bed, with no one around. I was awake, alone, and aware that I was about to die. I regretted my life, of things that I had done, and things I wished I had.
The feeling of dread and despair, and the desperate hope that when it goes dark, it won't be dark forever. The moment of death was intensely agonizing. And then there was nothing. The black and silence dominated. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. I was lost.

Anyone know what it means to have a reoccuring theme in your dreams?
Go to sleep two nights ago, I'm a daemon hunter wearing black and using a spear, killing man sized daemons trying to save this girl I know from getting eaten and she's not having it (she doesn't know the "danger" she's in).
Go to sleep last night, I'm the same daemon hunter, run into her again, she starts calling me "Hon" and "Dear", totally off for her (she hates me), I end up figuring out it's not her, but a daemon who stole her soul and morphed into her. So I rip her soul out of him, and am running around trying to find her body to bring her back.
Wake up in the middle of the night, fall back to sleep, and suddenly I'm fighting some giant polygonal daemon that's four times my size...

Here Luna is a possible explanation:
"I'm Being Chased!"
Chase dreams are one of several common dream themes, stemming from feelings of anxiety in your waking life. Flee and flight is an instinctive response to a physical threat in the environment. In such dreams, the scenario often features you being pursued by an attacker, an animal, a monster or an unknown figure, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. Consequently, you run, you hide or you try to outwit your pursuer. Your actions in the dream parallel how you would respond to pressure and cope with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, your dream indicates that you have a tendency to run away and avoid the issue. Ask yourself who is chasing you, so that you can gain a better understanding and insight on the source of your fears and anxieties.
The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent an aspect of yourself. Your own feelings of anger, jealousy, fear, and possibly love, can manifest itself as the threatening figure. Or the shadowy figure can symbolize the rejected characteristics of your Self. You may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown chaser. Next time you have a dream of being chased, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you. What are you trying to run from?
If you are the one doing the chasing, then the dream may highlight your drive and ambition to go after something you want. Or perhaps the dream suggests that you are falling behind and having to catch up with everyone else.
Consider the distance or gap between you and your pursuer. This indicates your closeness to the issue. If the pursuer is gaining on you, then it suggests that the problem is not going to go away. The problem will surround you, until you confront and address it. However, if you are able to widen the gap between your pursuer, then you are able to successfully distance yourself from the problem. In essence, the problem is fading away.
A more direct analysis of chase dreams is the fear of being attacked. Such dreams are more common among women than men, who may feel physically vulnerable in the urban environment. These dreams are often brought about by the media, who magnifies fears of violence and sexual assault.
Personally I dont put much stock in interpreting dreams, either psychologically or spiritually. It is fraught with error as a direct guide to action, it can give generalisedpart answers that maty or may not help, but rarely definate solutions or identifiers. i.e. We arent Josephs. If read the above you might highlight something in your life that you are anxious about, and become more settled about it in your waking hours then perhaps it will result in better dreams; which in turn might give confirmation that your anxiety (if any) is dealt with. Thus dealt with responsibly and lightly dream interpretation can be useful. If dreams highlight an issue, and you can deal with it, and if dreams are gone then its reassuring, and we all need reassurance sometimes.
I would however first look at a possible biological cause. Ask yourself (its not bloke business) if your pattern of bad dreams coincides with your feminine cycles. If there is a detectable pattern then the cause may well be hormonal.
Sweet dreams.

Usually i just have the same dream about being late for school which i have had to rejoin at my current age. Pretty standard stuff, my medication does mean my dreams can be very messed up but i never really remember them.
The most vivid dreams i have involve being stabbed. The one i remember best is one where i was in a taxi and two carjackers get in. I tell them to go eff themselves and one starts stabbing me, i raise my hand to defend and he knifes it viciously. I remember how useless and fragile the hands were against the knife and how one stab parted the knuckles of two fingers. He finally gets me through the eye and i wake up.
The rarest and most unique to me dreams are the ones where i hear/makeup a new song, each time different. I remember enough of the song in the hours after waking up to know each one is original (though often heavily inspired by recognisable music). Unfortunately the lyrics fade really quick from my mind. It's a shame because the most recent dreamsong was awesome, was kinda a melancholic Country song but with a choral backing vocal track on the chorus, i think a sludgy electric guitar joined in towards the end with some string accompaniment.

Hmm, I had a dream last night where I was in Space Hulk. I was with Mephiston (or back when he had his original name) and he kept shouting at me in Italian, which is odd as I don't understand Italian but knew what he was saying.
Anyway, we had to run from some genestealers (or something) and ended up in something like the mall/train station in L4D, where we met up with the other team members (who were more like the L4D player characters rather than Blood Angels Terminators).
We were about to set up an ambush but then I woke up.

Because of various happy-happy fun-fun mental health complications, I often have bad dreams. However mostly they don't affect me.
Perhaps the most recent exception to the rule was one I had a few nights ago. So, I'm standing across an empty room from my bestfriend (who I may or may not have a massive crush on, but that's another story entirely. ), and she's kind of collapsed into a featal position, convulsing like she's sobbing. Obviously my first instinct is to run to her and see what's wrong, but I can only walk at what feels like a snailspace, and I have more voices in my head than usual muttering as I cross the gap. When I reach her, I kneel down and see that she's got lots of cuts on her and is lying in a pool of her own blood. I ask her what's wrong, but she looks up at me and screams. She starts hitting me and teling me to "**** off you monster". This goes on for a few seconds, but it feels like hours, until I look fdown and notice I'm holding a crozius (see, Space marine Chaplain). She stops hitting me and kneels, crying again. Against my will, I stand up, walk around a bit whilst still looking at her before returning and...
Yeah. Not fun.

Ah no, I wanna hear how it turned out :(

So would I, but that's that happens when you wake up. No repeats of it either so the episode isn't likely to get a sequel. :(

Have you ever had a dream where you remember something in that dream from another dream? uhm what Ratty?
Basically I had a dream a while back where I was in a nightclub (dream A) but remembered being in that nightclub before in another dream (B) which was years ago. It was a completely made up nightclub btw so I cant have recalled it from real life. Weird.

Happens all the time, Ratius. In fact, I'd say a good 90% of my dreams take place in what I recognize as the same 'city.' It has a particular school, restaurant, and game store (which recently turned into a castle) which I tend to frequent. As with the game store, the details often change, but I always get the feeling they're the same place.

I often have the same dream multiple times and there are about 10 that I consistenlty have, but one scary one that doesnt come up all the time is where this dark shadow that is a ghostish thing is trying to get me and it only moves as fast as I do, so if i walk it moves at that pace forever and even if i slow down it does not and keeps what was my fastest pace, and so like a genius i got into a plane to get away and then once i got off the plane, the ghost proceeded to rip me apart while i watched from a 3rd person point of view, pretty messed up

Yeah I agree everyone has similar dreams and settings but have you actually remembered a dream within a dream per se?

I had one recurring dream when I was young. I would be sitting in my living room but everything was distorted to appear giant to me. I knew my folks were there but I could only see their hands hanging over the edge of their armrests above me. Then a trapdoor would open below me and I would fall a long way down to a room (more like a wide hall) with three exits and a stack of old, metal framed beds against the only wall with no exit. I knew there were bad things nearby but I couldn’t see them and I knew they needed darkness to get to me. If I tried to go through any exit, it would go pitch black and I would retreat back to my start point. I would repeat with each exit until they were all dark and then shortly after the room I started out in would black out. I had this enough times that as soon as it would start I would immediately try to grab something to keep from falling down the hole, but it never worked. Then I would just crawl under the stacked beds, curl up and wait for all the exits and eventually my room to go black.

It’s also the only dream I had when I was a kid that I can remember perfectly. I guess because I had it so many times.

Yes. Keep going to a place that is supposed to be the old homestead but looks nothing like it really does. Usually ends badly in the basement.

I'm no Freud, but in his book of the analysis of dreams he says that most dreams mean absolutely nothing. Dreams are merely the subconscious projecting images that have been blocked out or forgotten by the conscious mind because they were irrelevant in the waking world.
He said the only dreams that may have a specific meaning are the constant, vivid reoccurring dreams. So maybe you just have some phobia of the supernatural, who knows.
For me, I always have vivid dreams of me driving and losing control of the car and crashing into everything. It's simple really, because I of all the things I do and have done in my life driving is always the most dangerous thing I, and everyone else, will do. That gak's no joke. One stupid little mistake and you're dead. Not only that, but being mangled up in a metal coffin on wheels is a pretty gruesome death.
So that's why I always have dreams of me crashing into gak.

If smoking a bowl every night were an option that would be fine, but it's not realistic. Do I just give in and find another job and hope it doesn't stress me out either? I've done everything I can about specific situations at work that were stressing me out and they've gotten marginally better, but until certain personnel are removed it won't be completely over. I just want to sleep okay and I can't, even when I'm drunk and pass out, and that's never been the case.

I once had a dream where I was chased down the side of Mount Everest by Stormtroopers. (Yes, starwars storm troopers.) Not really a bad dream, but more of " WTF?" when I woke up.
Also once I had a dream where I was on some barren planet in a research station thing, and was being chased around by things that looked like Necromorphs from Dead Space. I pretty much know when I'm dreaming though, so it was more like "This is awesome". Really, I've never had a dream that actually scared me. If something impossible like that is happening, I know it is a dream so I sort of just have fun with it .

Gah, I hated dreams about work, those were the worst. Specially when youd have them all night and wake up from the alarm just to go into work. I feel for ya man

Another weird dream last night,
I was standing ontop of a skyscrapper , the platform i was standing on was 50cm by 50cm, and was very very windy that i kept almost getting blown off ( i have acrophobia )
I remember asking myself why i wont just lay flat on my tummy and grab to the edges instead of just standing there. Then finally the wind was too strong i was been pushed half sliding off the edge. Then i told myself again geez this isnt going to work, wake up. Then i woke up -_-

Those are the worse, dreaming your at work and waking up realizing you have to get up and go to work...blargh...
It's those mornings I consider just leaping out of the bedroom window...unfortunatlly, the fall would do little more than perhaps knock the wind out of me.
Cannerus...Wish I could tell you it gets better, but if you stay on the same job...it usually doesn't.

Work a full shift + and then going home falling asleep and waking up in real life, going back to work and your boss actually tries to get you to play hide the snake to keep your job. Ya, that just happened

If she doesn't burn, we'll certainly know she's a witch! Same if she floats when we throw her in a lake, she's a witch!
I used to have a recurring dream when I was a child (circa 1988-1992) that I'd be laying in bed, looking out into the hallway of my upper floor of the house (bed faced the door, with the headboard on the opposite wall of the room). The ambient light of my father sitting at the kitchen table which was down the hall would fade completely out, and I would become terrorfied of the impending entrance of two large things/monsters with hunched backs, about 7-8 feet tall with more gleaming white teeth than a shark, no eyes, and just completely not visible except for the teeth.
If I fought it would be worse than if I had just gotten above the sheets and let them start eating me, which is what I did for the longest time.
This was until for some odd reason one time I pulled a katana blade from the side of my bed and decapitated them both, got back under the covers, went back to sleep, and never had the dream again.
Thank You Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

My friend is probably the only person who has woken up laughing from a dream. He had a dream where he was watching a sitcom about the Holocaust (yeah, I know). Then the name of the sitcom came up on the screen, and it was apparently so funny he woke up laughing.
The sad part is, he can never remember what that sitcom was actually called.

There is something interesting / weird i would like to know if others have similar experience.
I dont sleep walk, atleast not that we know of. BUT, everytime im ill or have high fever, i have a 100% chance of sleep walking.
Why does this happen? And according to people that saw me sleep walk, they say i walk up and down stairs with my eyes still closed,
and then back to my bed.

One time i was sick and had a dream that i went upstairs in the middle of the night and my dad told me to pour water all over our carpeted stairs, i thought this was wierd, but did it anyway, and then went to bed. When i woke up that morning my mom said there was water all over the stairs, apparently i had not been dreaming but was in some funky trance/sleepwalk mode...

This sounds identical to what i just described. Once my mom tried to snap me out of sleepwalk or w/e it was. And i was crying and apologizing the fax machine was too heavy and no one wants to buy it.
And then i went hysterical with panic attack.

I have recurring dreams where I get beaten, cursed out, beaten some more and eventually smothered by the person I trusted and loved most. If I only had it once it would be better, but it happens 2 or 3 nights of the week. What the heck is going on in my subconscious anyway...

My dream wasnt bad as such, I tend not to have bad dreams really. Sign of my mind is just happy as it is ?
But anyways, there was a nuclear holocost, or the start of one, we we're told a nuke was coming to hit our area, me and my pa ran to hide behind some metal sheeting in the hope we could avoid it.
Nuke hit, vaporised everything including me, I watched my body disintergrate in the heat as i was lifted off the ground.
As my body was burnt away my spirit i guess just lifted up into the sky, then I woke up genuinely feeling that I was possibly dead. Damned strange experience if you ask me.
But other than that one dream, all my others are pretty random aren't bad enough to make me remember them or wake up in a sweat about it.
